I came here since I saw that they had mole poblano ($20). Place is in the Claremont Village and the tables were filled quickly. Street parking only. I also got a Baja fish taco ($5) to try which came with sliced cabbage, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The fish batter was not too crispy and the portion size was good. The mole poblano came with a side of beans and rice. The chicken was tender and came off the bone easily. The mole had a good amount of heat, more smokier than other places I've tried. The waitress was nice.

Amores in Claremont fits perfectly into the charm of the village, where everything feels a little more local and thoughtfully curated. I always enjoy spending time in that area, and this spot blends right in with that small town, independent feel. The food was delicious, and the mole in particular stood out with both its flavor and presentation. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it's spotless and stylish, with crisp white walls and deep blue accents that make the space feel clean and elevated. Service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed, which made the whole meal feel relaxed. It ended up being a really nice dining experience and a place I would gladly return to when I'm in Claremont.

We stopped by for dinner last night and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We got both the mole poblano and ceviche, by the end of the meal we were practically licking our plates clean. Also their carnitas was amazing! The taco came out loaded with meat and had tons of crispy pork pieces adding to both the flavor and texture. We will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu. Don't forget to try the Tres Leches before leaving!

Chicken fajitas immediately after I set them down on the passenger seat of my car. I hadn't even pulled out of the parking spot.

Oh boy. Please do yourself a favor and do not, for the love of all things holy, order the fajitas to go. First of all, they're not very good. They are very salty. The chicken is overcooked and the vegetables are undercooked. It doesn't come with sour cream or anything which would've helped balance out the heavy hand on salt. Most importantly - what you will carry out is a bowl of soup. There's so much liquid in this that as soon as I set the bag down, flat, on the front seat of my car brown liquid started to pool on the bottom. I had to hold the bag out of the window as I drove to my destination so it wouldn't get all over my car. When I got to where I was going I was stunned that when I opened the container with fajita mix of chicken and vegetables it was still full of liquid, and that what had spelled into the bag was only about a third of the liquid in the box. A total complete mess. I will certainly never order takeout from here again, but I don't know that I'd ever eat here again either. Apart from the the women on the staff, being absolutely lovely (kind, helpful), the food is pretty bad and this mess tells me that chef probably has no idea how to work in a restaurant.

Not me finding a spot that tastes like someone's tia is in the back cooking. The huevos rancheros were PERFECT sauce tasted homemade, super fresh, and full of flavor. Rice and beans? Exactly how they should be. The sausage breakfast burrito was also really good simple, filling, and done right. If you want real, authentic breakfast... this is it.

Stumbled across this place while on my walk at the village. Super cute little restaurant. Clean, pretty and cozy. The staff are all very friendly. I was craving something healthy and ordered their quinoa salad. It was sooo good! It had grilled chicken, avocado, red onion, garbanzo beans, cucumbers and mango with this zesty lime dressing. The menu had a lot of different items but I'll definitely come back for this particular salad!

Food was great! Service was great. They had one chef so it was a bit slow, but definitely worth the wait! The food was phenomenal!

Terrible service and Terrible food. The breakfast potatoes were mushy and cold. Not room temperature. Cold. Which means they warmed up leftovers in the microwave. And I found a hair in my food. Definitely not mine. The waitresses were too busy on their phones or chatting with each other to actually serve the room. I also found it completely unreasonable they charge an extra $4 for eggs if you want them on your chilaquiles. By the color of the eggs they're just your regular basic eggs. Definitely not pasture raised that would warrant such a ridiculous charge. The waitress also said the steak and eggs was and I quote "ribeye" and Yeah nope this was flap meat. Just regular carne asada. Had we known that we wouldn't have ordered it medium rare.

I must have been so hungry I did not take a picture of my chile relleno ‍‍

The food was yummy, the service was great but for my lunch and having water my bill was over $35. I got a small a la carte chile relleno and 3 mini fried shredded beef tacos. I almost forgot I got a slice of tres leches to share with my coworkers. Smaller portions so we ate everything.

Plato tradicional. Chile relleno, enchilada and a taco dorado.

I ordered the traditional plate and it was outstanding! The place is cute and we got here a bit late because most of the pies were gone. Oh well next time.

My dessert to go. Nicely presented with touch of gratitud for the business.

100% recommend this cozy little restaurant in the downtown area of Clairmont. The food is excellent. A little different from most Mexican places since it is from the Yucatan Penninsula (Cancum area). As it was my first time at this place, I made my self a cheap sampler. 1 Taco Gobernador (Shrimp with grilled cheese), 1 Cochinita Pibil taco (like shreded stew pork with seasoned red onions on top), and later added 1 Carnitas taco (Carnitas were not chopped, but little juicy tasty chuncks). All three tacos were amazing. From posted pictures in other reviews one can tell the place is family owned, clean, expect to be served on porcelain or ceramic plate, and metal utensils. I took my dessert to go.

The space is fully covered, so you can enjoy being outside without the sun hitting you, perfect vibe. A few people in our group ordered sangrias and other drinks, and everything was great. But the real standout was the Peruvian ceviche such a hidden gem. Super fresh, flavorful, and honestly one of the best dishes we had. Our server was attentive and really helpful, and the food came out quickly, which we appreciated. I just wish I had taken pictures of everything because it looked as good as it tasted. Definitely coming back.

A little older on style but quaint. Im sure at night with fire-pit nearby and giant lamps on, wonderful & cozy Service: 8 / 10 Attentive, checked on us, offered suggestions that worked out. Surprised us with birthday cakes!! ( Mother in-laws & mine) Food: Duck Tacos - 8 / 10 Surprisingly great flavor and would order again for quick bite if I came back Tuna Tartare - 5 / 10 Happy they chose to pair with wonton chips, but the sauce and the flavor altogether just missed the mark. Shocked to say that Lime & Salt & even Yard House blew this app out of the water. Manila Clam Chowder: 7 / 10 Chunky, creamy, but too Salty. They added bacon not chopped up in the chowder, but instead thrown on top as if it fell onto the bowl on it's way out of the kitchen prep (see pic) Calamari: 7 / 10 Basic breading and could have been better if sauces paired were complimentary but they were not. They offered 1 sauce that just tasted like a watered down Zested shallot, the other I think is like a thinned out marinara. Both did not enhance the app, but actually made it less appetizing. Fresh Pappardelle w/Chicken: 5 / 10 Great portion of protein to pasta, but heavily lacked flavor. I've had pasta with no sauce, just simple olive oil, but this dish...not like those. Unfortunately, tasted bland. Wild Alaskan Salmon: 8 / 10 It was crispy but not sure if that was what they were going for or it was a tad overcooked. But the flavor was great, quinoa pairing worked. I get the need for colorful presentation too, but they could have gone w/less tomatoes and instead more of the mangos & perhaps added cucumbers for a more fresh & colorful approach Chilean Seabass: 7 / 10 Description was "Pepper crusted..saffron Asparagus Risotto...Orange Glaze w\Vanilla Bean cream sauce" First bite was like a basic white fish. 4 bites later, then I finally tasted a hint of pepper crust (not all over as I hoped because it enhanced the flavor so much!) The Asparagus risotto base was a huge disappointment--I would have enjoyed this fish more with roasted veggies, because I was hyped up to experience an 'Orange glaze w/Vanilla bean cream sauce " in the risotto, but instead tasted like bland porridge with 2 bits of asparagus chunks that I think they could have left out. It was a shame, I also did not taste any orange glaze anything. *For such a high price point on these main entrees and salads-- I had expectations for their dishes to be refined & elevated. This would work best at a $22/plate experience not the $50+ range they are charging.

They've got indoor and outdoor seating and they seemed a touch understaffed for being a beautiful day. It was also a Tuesday lunchtime so maybe they weren't expecting it to be as busy as it was. We were able to prove the menu before we got seated. And our super friendly server came out and we were able to order right away. They've got a lunch special. That is a small personal pizza with a salad and we each got that. Salads came out first and I had the arugula salad, which was absolutely phenomenal. 10 of 10 would eat this every single day. The arugula was peppery and it was well dressed in a lemon vinaigrette type sauce. I am a fan of just plain lemon on mine, but this was delicious. My husband got a union salad, which is their specialty I guess. It's got colored carrots and some beets and some shallots. I thought the dressing was bland and it certainly needed salt and pepper. We asked for both and didn't get either. Our pieces came out and they were nice and woodfired. I feel like they could've been done just a little bit longer maybe a minute or two. The sauce was a lovely fresh type crushed tomato sauce. The cheese was nice and gooey and did not feel or taste like a package of processed cheese. Pepperonis were greasy, but in a real meat kind of way. I had to dab mine, but my husband just went to town on his. The pickled peppers is a pickled jalapeño. Big chunks of them. They certainly didn't skimp on any of the toppings. They were a little sweet and a little hot. Some of the big chunks were a little too sweet for my liking but overall, it was a nice flavor mix Also from a size standpoint, I thought the salad and pizza were very adequate for lunch at around $20 price point I asked for salt and pepper again as well as a side of ranch. This time we did get the salt and pepper as well as cheese and crushed red pepper. But we didn't get the ranch until we were leaving. The server did apologize and said he thought someone else was bringing it out but I pretty much deducted a star because we asked for a couple different things that never came. Overall, the service was super friendly, the ambience was nice for an outdoor lunch thought. I thought the menu looked delicious and there were several things I would like to come back and try and I would go back again.

It was so underwhelming. 2 eggs cooked differently, one over hard, one over easy, 5-6 potato pieces and the steak was thin, overcooked, and appeared to be a cheap cut of meat. A New York cut would have been great. Wife mentioned norms has better steak and eggs. Called and spoke with a manager Stephanie, not looking for anything, but to express disappointment in the meal for the high price. She offered to mail a gift card for us and invited us back. Took all of my information and never received it. Thanks anyway. Don't think we'll be back.
