Lunch & Dinner menu (as of 9/18/22)
Mike W.

First visit. Nice décor with inside, courtyard, and covered patio dining areas available. Parking in downtown Claremont can be tough, but there's on street and a couple lots, but it's usually very busy. SERVICE: Started a little slow as I waited for someone to "notice" me and ask to help. However, once we were seated, Andrew took good care of us. Most of the staff was friendly and checked in when necessary. DRINK: They have a full bar and a Specialty Cocktail menu. My wife and mother-in-law tried the Red Raspberry Sangria ($13/ea), which is only available by the glass (no pitchers). I found the sangria to be very refreshing and delicious. I ordered a Bloody Mary ($11), which was disappointing. It tasted like mostly tomato juice, with hardly any spice and I could barely taste the vodka. FOOD: I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Gravlax ($21) and a side of Afghan fries. The eggs were overcooked, but the Hollandaise sauce was one of the best I've had, and the Afghan fries were interesting, in a good way. My wife had the Spicy Ahi Tuna Tostadas ($17), which were a little bland and should have been 3 to the order. We had to ask for the missing tostada. My mother-in-law tried the Huevos Rancheros ($13), which were okay. Nothing was bad, but a couple of our dishes could have used a little pinch of seasoning. They also have a Weekend Brunch with Unlimited Mimosas ($22) Sat./Sun. from 10am - 2pm. We arrived too late to take full advantage, but it seemed very popular with the surrounding tables. I can't say Walter's was something special, but I would stop in again when in the area.

Tandoori Lamb Burger with Mediterranean slaw and Sweet Potato Fries.

First time here again in several years and Walters did not disappoint! Six of us gathered for lunch here today. Staff moved tables around for us to sit together. Everyone was given silverware and bread w/butter and drink orders taken. Couple of us got breakfast. Two got salads. One got Lamb Kabob and I got Tandoori Lamb Burger with Mediterranean slaw and Sweet Potato Fries. All of the dishes came out together and everyone loved everything. My lamb burger was delicious as was the spicy slaw (a favorite of mine) The waiter continually checked if we needed anything else the whole time. Will definitely try to return again soon.

Just come here it's a great place to hang out. They have good drinks large area good selection of beer and cocktails. The service is great they were able to really accommodate our party last minute. The prices are very reasonable The birthday boy had a great time with family and friends. It's definitely a hidden gem we didn't know about we will be back .

My family has been coming to Walters for as long as I can remember! Delicious food and friendly employees. It seemed only right to end this year with some take out and relax. The LAMB BURRITO is the only thing I get when I'm here. Full of juicy pieces of lamb and lots of cheese! A nice hearty meal any time of the day. Today they were out of the AFGHAN FRIES but if you're lucky enough to get them, they are the perfect addition. The GREEN CHUTNEY is super fresh and spicy. It's such a treat to buy a bottle! Love it!

First tine at Walter's and loving the vibe here on a Thursday evening. They have indoor and patio seating. It was a beautiful evening and so we decided to have a couple of drinks in their patio area. Staff is friendly. The place is clean and tables are well spaced out. They have nice little lounge areas with firepits. It's a nice place for a date night or a mellow night with friends. I had the green tea shot and the razberry lemondrop martini. Both drinks were good and perfect for the mood. The music playing and sitting next to a relaxing firepit. They also have a singer that cones on at 9:30. It adds a very nice touch and just what is needed after a long day in the office. I'll be back to try more.

Having walked past here a million times in the Claremont Village, my wife and I finally decided to try Walter's on Valentines Day this year. Arriving right at our reservation time, they sat us immediately not in the cool outdoor dining space, or in the vibe-y bar area, but in this hallway that was towards the back of the restaurant in the "House" area. We were the only ones sat in this space, and often when the waiters and waitresses would come out of the kitchen, they would be loudly talking - thinking there wasn't anyone sitting out there - very strange. Now that the only negative is out of the way, let's get onto the good parts. Service was quick - We both ordered a cocktail and it came right out. I had the fillet and it was exquisite. The potatos - were very fluffy and creamy. My wife had this shrimp dish that looked amazing. We'd love to come back sometime - and hopefully get the opportunity to sit on the cool looking patio!

Came here for a milestone birthday with family. Always a Funtime. The layout is a bit unorthodox. Several rooms and a long central patio. It was chilly rainy night so the spacer heaters were an absolute necessity. The food was good. The potatoes were cooked well not mushy and seasoned well. The yogurt chicken was GREAT. This was a catered private event so everything was buffet from a chafing dish so I can rate the other dishes. Service was pretty good. Plates were bussed when we were done, the staff was always availed to answer questions. Looking forward to a future visit to see what improves.

Walters is my favorite bar to go to in Claremont. They have amazing drinks, especially if they're made by Austin, great ambiance, and great vibes. In the back bar they have plenty of seating whether you want to hangout by a fire place or at a table. On some nights they have live music. We always have a great time here. 10/10 recommend!!

Great restaurant in Claremont. We came for breakfast. Service is great and fast. Food is delicious. Their Afghan fries are a must try. Parking in the street or on the side.

Wedge salad and white sangria

I've passed this place so many times and decided to finally check it out. I came in for an early dinner and sat in their covered patio area. It was heated and lovely for people watching as you see people walking by outside the restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly. I tried the white sangria, wedge salad, and mushroom fettuccine. Everything tasted a bit bland and lacking in oomph to me. Considering how busy the place is, I'm thinking maybe this place is for those with milder palates? I am interested in seeing if their other dishes are more flavorful and would return as their price points are more accessible than at other places. Parking can be hard at peak times such as dinner and weekends. There is a lot next door, but it does fill up quickly. Other than that, you have street parking.

Always a nice surprise. The village was packed today so I meandered to Walters to read the latest edition of the Economist. I sat at the bar and ordered my usual, chicken kabab. Stevie was the bartender and she was super professional and friendly. I learned that Martinis are her specialties. Why do I always forget about Walter's -- great service and reliability solid quality food.

Tandoori Salmon! I saw a picture on Yelp, so I ordered!

Is there a DJ at Walters every Saturday night and if so what time?

My husband, myself and a good friend of ours dined at Walter's about a month ago, at about 6 P.M. to 7 P.M, on a Saturday evening and we loved everything about the restaurant. There wasn't any D.J. during that time. The restaurant hours show that…

It was our first Finney's Crafthouse experience and they set the bar high for other locations. Everything from the food to the service was 5-stars. We came in on a Sunday during brunch time and they were busy. The staff from the host/hostess stand to our server handled the craziness with professionalism and efficiency. Service did not waiver which made for an overall good meal with the family on Sunday Funday. The Finney's Crafthouse in Claremont is located on Harvard Avenue. As noted above, we came in on a Sunday around brunch/lunch time which also coincides with the Claremont Farmer's Market. As a result, parking was a little bit of a challenge and limited, though not to any fault of Finney's. There were several things that were intriguing on their menu, but ultimately, we ended up ordering the - Cheesesteak Egg Rolls - A5 Wagyu Burger - Pastrami Reuben I am not lying when I saw that everything that touched down on our table was delicious. The Cheesesteak Egg Rolls set the perfect tone to our meal with a generous amount of cheesesteak, crispy shells, and the perfect sauces for dipping to complement the appetizer. The Wagyu burger was excellent. We ordered the larger basket of fries to share which were fried to perfection. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Pastrami Reuben. The food at Finney's Crafthouse in Claremont was outstanding. We would definitely visit again in the future when in the area. If you are reading this review trying to decide if you should give them a try, the answer is yes!

Recommend reserving a spot online to be guaranteed a table spot and that set aside seating for your party. You can't bring outside food or drinks but you can bring a cake and party decorations. Plenty of parking spaces, it opens at 7pm so it feels early when it's still light out. They play a lot of oldies, 80s and 90s songs. I kind of felt out of place not knowing a lot of the older songs. Younger folks might have a tough time following along the songs. If you want your song played it's like a $20 payment unless no one is there and you might get away with under $20. That accept cash and Venmo. They have a full bar for drink orders and a menu for bar food like pizza, burgers, and fries. Don't have high expectations for the food. You're here for the piano music. You can put in special requests at the beginning of the night to highlight someone's birthday and they might get called up on stage. Or pay $100 and get to sing your song on stage. Overall it's a try once of your life experience or if you like every song in piano format.

We absolutely love this place and decided to come for our anniversary. I'll preface this by saying…read morethe food taste was amazing, like always. But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.
