    First round. Mimosa ready

First time visiting and love their Sunday brunch buffet!! $49 for adult and $24 for children. You get carved prime rib, salad bar, soup, crab legs, cocktail shrimp, beef rib, cookies, variety of slices of cake (lemon, chocolate, strawberry cheesecake) and pudding / jello cups. There is also a separate area for Mexican dishes which I liked. Chilaquiles and can't forget unlimited refills of champagne and juice to make your mimosa. Their beef rib and prime rib is the perfect combo! Very satisfying! Would come back again!!

Sitting on the hill above Pomona is this rustic place that has an incredible salad bar, & soup station as well. The view is fantastic. I remember this place from wedding receptions and Christmas parties. So mid week sounded like a good deal. Hostess was friendly and accommodating. The server was very nice as well. Service was prompt and our drinks were good. My friend ordered a New York steak and I ordered the Baby back Ribs The meat from the ribs literally fell off the bone. I did not order any sides as the salad bar and soup were included.. The ribs were plenty and the steak would make just about any carnivore happy. The parking lot is spacious and it is very rustic. Once inside there are stairs. So if you have difficulty with stairs beware and go slow. Otherwise a great place for steaks and ribs!

Let me start off with the view, it was breathtaking! We came to eat at sunset one random Friday and were sat at a booth. Normally I don't expect much from the food when I know you're paying for a view but. Was pretty impressed how great the food tasted. It was a lovely night spent with great food and very attentive staff. We were well taken care of. Excited for their events that they wi be holding.

First time going to Pomona Valley Mining Co., and this review is based on my experience of the UCSC presentation workshop there. We went there with our daughter, and the venue was great. We had complimentary valet parking that day because UCSC paid for it. The ambiance is nice, and the view is beautiful. We first went downstairs to check out the university information, and then we had a self-serve buffet lunch upstairs. The banquet room is spacious. It had a lot of food on that day. Most of the food tasted great, except the beef was chewy. The event was well-organized, and they were very generous. The service was attentive that day. They took away my empty plate after I finished my lunch, and also refilled the iced tea and iced water. I would visit Pomona Valley Mining Co. for their dinner.

I've always been curious about this place on the hilltop whenever I pass it driving on the 10 fwy, and finally made it here for a celebration. While I'm glad I checked it off the list, the food was nothing to rave about. To be fair, the staff was great. The hostess and our server were super friendly and helpful. However, the food just wasn't anything special. I had the prime rib, filet mignon, and a baked potato. That said, it didn't ruin the night. I kind of went in with the mindset that you're paying for the vibe anyway. The old mining decor is unique and the view of the valley is nice. I think it's a good idea to come for a drink and the scenery, but maybe keep average expectations for the meal.

Came here for the Mother's Day brunch and it was definitely worth it. A lot of food options and a lot of desserts. Minus one star because I feel like the hostess was a bit unprofessional. It's mother's day and I'm there with my mom and he says "you here for anything special?" And "yeah it's just a like of walking in here it kind of sucks" He was a young kid. But it's still unprofessional to mention something that "sucks" plus come on It's Mother's Day. Why do you think two women are there lol

My first time ever coming to Pomona Valley Mining Co which is literally located right off the freeway. I have seen their huge sign many times but just never got around to coming here. I went here early for a Sunday Brunch which is an all-you-can-eat buffet style. There are many separate sections around the entire place. It is rustic and looks like a dark wooden mine. There is a dessert section, hot meats, and a salad area. Overall I did find that the food was pretty good. With many different items that you can get. You can also get a freshly made omelet from the chefs or carved out meats as well. Oh yeah also make a reservation because this place is quite busy on Sunday! Enjoy :)

Not my favorite buffet, but not the worst one I've been to either. The perennial offering of prime rib was very good as was the omlette station taking a request to make my Up Easy eggs sunny and runny with the best of restaurants. But the biscuits and gravy, miner potatoes, and ham was very poor. The waffles and simple chafing dish scrambled eggs, but that's very routine stuff for a buffet. The service was great though. The free mimosas and juices were provided quickly, and the dirty plates were getting cleared as fast as they piled up. They even took special requests like Bloody Mary's like champs. Lastly, I thought the ambience was fair. I found the hallways too tight and inconvenient. I also thought the layout of the buffet stations confusing and ill-planned. They should've all been grouped together more tightly, or even have a dedicated dining room set aside from them instead of so spaced out. I almost didn't know there were three locations--like a scavenger hunt--to the buffet. I also found the mining theme kitschy and inauthentic as they very easily could've had the actual decor from mining outfits shipped in. In summation, this was a good approximation of a nice buffet but there were many areas it could have been approved. I probably won't be back.

I came here once a longg time ago with some family, I still think about the free unlimited cheese bread they gave us THE best EVER. I don't remember the service, I would if it was above and beyond but I don't so it's probably the average nice service. The ambiance is BEAUTIFUL the view was amazing, I still remember my first time walking in, .

After living nearby for almost 20 years and driving past this place countless times, we finally decided to try it for a date night--and I'm honestly wondering why we waited so long. The restaurant is set in an old mine on top of a hill, which already makes it feel unique, but the view takes it to another level. The ambiance is dim, romantic, and has this charming, slightly rustic vibe that reminded me of Ghost Town at Knott's Berry Farm (in the best way). We started with a couple of their signature cocktails--the Banana Hammock was good, but the Pickin' Mule was even better. Definitely recommend trying both. For appetizers, we had the calamari steak, which was really good. Entrées come with access to the salad bar, and I have to say--the clam chowder was delicious. For my main dish, I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon cooked medium, and it came out absolutely perfect. The sides (mushrooms and baked potato) were solid, though nothing particularly standout. Service was excellent from start to finish, which really made the whole experience even better. Overall, we found ourselves a new date night spot and will definitely be back.

We had a Sunday brunch reservation and arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes prior to 10 am. The view is pretty, it was a sunny, clear morning. Service was good. Personally the food was just okay. Not much options, most dishes tasted similarly. The place could be a little cleaner. I noticed a piece of dried meat on my chair. We were looking forward to eating the crab legs but got super disappointed as it was cold and the body was iced cold, that made the meat all salty. Scrambled eggs station was okay.

I used to come here all the time when my family lived nearby, so I was genuinely happy to see that they survived COVID and are still going strong. The layout inside is a little different now. The host was a gentleman and was welcoming and very friendly. We were taken to our seats right away, having reservations. We were lucky enough to have Catherine as our waitress, and she was an absolute delight in always. We started with wine, their focaccia bread with a delicious pickled relish, and the arugula salad, which was incredible. And that's where the wheels fell off the bus. To my own fault and sincere regret, why would I order anything but Italian food in an Italian restaurant, especially when Italian food is my absolute favorite. But no, we took the side route and my wife ordered the pork chop and I fell on the trap of ordering the ribeye steak. Will start with a pork chop that was just pretty good. And that's my wife's favorite protein dish so that's saying a lot. As for the ribeye, I was asked if I wanted it medium rare which of course absolutely that's the standard. However, when it came, I instantly knew this was going to be a bad piece of steak. It was all of about 3/8 of an inch thick and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Sure enough I cut into it and it was absolutely dead gray and the taste was just the same. The taste was just mediocre at best and rather than make a big thing about it and return it I just powered through. After all, there's only so much you can do with a 38 inch ribeye. As an expert in meat grilling, even though it was a $28 steak, I would completely drop it from the menu because it's just not worthwhile at all. Otherwise get a 1 inch prime cut and charge $45 and make that a winner. As for dessert, how could I not order the homemade tiramisu and I was glad we did. It was perfection. So, will we be back? Yes, we will for two reasons. One, we loved the ambience and setting along with our server. Too, we intend to try what we would hope to be their strong suit, which is the pastas. We're not fish lovers at all so forget all of that, we'll go for the mainstream pasta dishes, and hope that they can restore our feelings for this gem of a restaurant.

The price difference to add them was less than $1, so it was difficult to understand why they weren't included. Oh, and one of the TVs showing the soccer game was about 15 minutes behind the others. LOL. Window blinds were off balance and paper material making the place feel cheap. It's a shame because the issues I mentioned seem relatively easy to fix. Addressing them would go a long way toward improving the overall dining experience. I do admit that the other dishes we tried had very good flavor and I may come and try again in a few months... Ambiance needs improvement, it feels like a cenaduria.. eat and leave. But then again I was there at 11am

Prices are very reasonable for all of the stuff on the menu. Place looks like it's stuck in the 80's or 90's and only like 5 tables inside, but if they're making good food, I see no reason to change. Asian lady who I assume is Kitty was also really friendly. Shouldn't eat fried stuff too often, but I think I'll make an exception and come here when I'm craving some fish and chips.

Let me tell you.. from the moment I walked in, until the moment I left. I felt so welcomed. The 2 ladies in the front were so nice! The awesome dude Peter was great with recommendations. And then we met the owner Kitty! She gave us 2 jumbo shrimps to try for free! I know what im ordering next time! Definitely have to order those jumbo shrimps! We got the 9 PC fish family meal with calamari and fries. Taste 10/10 , people 10/10. And because it reminds me of my old hood spots but way cleaner. Atmosphere 10/10. Thank you Miss Kitty! And thank you to all you amazing employees! You guys got lucky i moved to Rancho or you'd get tired of seeing me weekly! Lol. Second edit after we fully ate.. HOLD UP Kitty's! How do you guys not make it greasy at all!? If you guys look at the bags barely any grease on them. When you bite into the fish it was so juicy and crispy with no greasy taste! IM DEFINITELY GOING, GOING. BACK, BACK. TO KITTYS, KITTYS ! *singing in Biggies voice*
