Food was good and tasty, service was good and friendly. Dinning area was clean, as they just opened. Only drawback was the homeless person sleeping by the door and the prices are a bit high. A torta with bits of skirt steak was $24. Cafe de olla was $7. Not sure if the food is awesome enough as a destination restaurant, but if you're in the area and don't mind spending a bit more, it's a good choice. read more

First I want to say if you have not eaten here it's a must. The food is very flavorful. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is very small. I would say it doesn't hold any more than 35 people total but if you have to wait, it's worth the wait in line. Will definitely go again read more

This was the most delicious breakfast I have had in a very long time. We are thrilled to have found this place and will definitely be returning! Decided to come here after craving some chilaquiles and their pictures looked super appetizing and delicious. The place is located in a parking lot with other businesses but there is plenty of parking which is great. The restaurant is not too big but not too small, although if it gets busy I can definitely see the wait times being long. The service was a little slow, we had to keep asking for refills even though there were just us and 2 other people in the restaurant, the staff was nice though. But let's talk about the food, the real deal. I ordered the birria chilaquiles which were good but not spicy at all.. and I can't handle spicy that well lol. I definitely wish the chilaquiles sauce had a bit of a kick to it but that's just my preference. The birria was a little on the salty side but overall pretty good with a big portion of the birria. The waffles were also good, if you like maiz then you'd like these as it has a strong maiz taste. Over all I think this place was pretty good but it wouldn't be my first choice to get chilaquiles. read more

The Tres Leches cornmeal waffles were delicious! I was afraid that it may be too sweet but the sweetness level was fine for me and I finished all of them within minutes! The waffles were well made and the edges were pretty crunchy : ) the fruits were fresh and the cream added a good balance. My husband ordered a churro pancake and that was delicious as well. You can really taste the cinnamon sugar that a churro has. Overall it was a great place for brunch/breakfast. The owner was there and chatted briefly with us, seems like a very down to earth person. The restaurant itself was cozy and clean with plenty of parking spaces in the plaza lot. Would recommend their tres leches waffles and would definitely come back again! read more

Wow! What a great find. I was meeting a friend for lunch and found Sed Cocina on google maps. So we decided to try it. Let me tell you! You won't be disappointed, the food and drinks are delicious. I had the huevos rancheros with steak, the sauce was exactly what you expect full of flavor and not too spicy. The steak and eggs were cooked to perfection. We asked for spicy sauce on the side and my favorite was the oil based one. The staff were welcoming and attentive and food/drinks were brought to us in a timely manner. I am extremely disappointed this was our first visit and was highly recommended. We arrived and the wait was 30-40 mins which we did not mind. We got sat down and we waited about 15-20 mins and not one person came to greet us and ask what we wanted to drink. 2 tables we're sat down after us and served drinks and yet not one person came to offer us anything so we decided to walk out. The food looks delicious but the service will keep me from returning. read more

We have been eyeballing this place for some time now and finally my wife and I ventured out to Montclair. What caught our attention were the good reviews and the unique Mexican spin on traditional Mexican breakfast. The place is in a strip mall near the Montclair Mall. Not much to speak of from outside but inside is modern, clean and bright. We started out with some Cafe De Olla. Which is a sweet cinnamony hot coffee. After going over all the items on the menu my wife decided on the menudo. Which could be a risky move cause no one makes menudo like mom. Also different regions have a different spin on Menudo. This according to my better half was excellent. Sorry Mom. I opted for the Chilaquiles Divorciados which are chilaquiles with both red and green sauce. This is what real homemade Mexican breakfast should taste like. Hand made tortillas only made everything better. I wanted to take a picture of my wife slurping her menudo. She said if I did the chilaquiles wouldn't be the only thing divorciados at the table. She cracks me up. Anyway we will be going back to try something else soon I'll keep you posted. My family and I had brunch at SeD Cocina today for the first time and it definitely won't be our last. EVERYTHING was so delicious. We ordered the SeD Toast, Oli's tacos, chilaquiles with asada and a quesadilla. The quality, portions and flavor were on point. We did also have the elote flan and it was so unique and definitely balanced out our palettes after the savory and spicy flavors of our dishes. Crunchy and perfectly filled with potato's and cheese, the sauce on top is flavorful and they give you a small amount of beans and rice but it all worked out and filled me up. BOY are these plates reminiscent of Claim Jumper portions!! Golly Gee! I have been 3 times and every time I come the food is hot and delicious. I'm usually sat pretty quickly and service is the same your food comes up right away! My favorite item is the Beef Birria Chilaquiles although I have also tried the carnitas those too were yummylicious. Coffee was tasty - as was the Mimosa when I ordered that one too. Second time her and I unfortunately had a terrible experience. 1st off the food (that we did receive) was delicious but... the service was SO bad. Our waitress name was Elena. She had a terribly rude weird passive aggressive attitude the entire time. It was super uncomfortable. The table next to us also mentioned they were shocked by her. There were 3 of us there and we ordered 3 breakfast dishes and an a la cart order of the churro pancakes to share. I'm assuming she forgot to include the order of pancakes. We reminded her on FOUR occasions about our order and still nothing. She looked annoyed that we asked her for them. As we were packing up our food because we were done eating she brings out the pancakes?!? I told her, we are all done with the meal and getting ready to leave. It's too late. She said she would just have to throw them away. I told her my family wanted to try them still since it was their 1st time visiting. She firmly said "we don't give out free food" ?!? That wasn't our intention at all, we actually reminded her for our order 4 times prior to being done with our food. The table next to us also said WOW to her rude response. The entire time at the restaurant was awful. Bad/rude service can definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth and an everlasting memory. (She also did include the pancakes on our bill!!!) She took off the pancakes, we paid, and left asap. Since this restaurant is a small intimate place, everyone noticed and could hear what was going on. It was shocking. Unfortunately I will not be returning and will no longer be recommending this place to friends and family. read more

Servers were very sweet, it's a smaller area so you might have to wait a little bit for seating, but the food and drinks are worth it. Very delicious. It was tender and had a very smokey char flavor but if I'm being honest, it was not MY favorite so I probably would not personally order again. Even my mom said she thought it was "just alright." I'm not sure which, but service wasn't on par with the price point in my opinion. Luckily we were pretty relaxed, but my mom had finished her food by the time her wine arrived. Overall, it was an ok night. My family at least had fun and enjoyed their time there. The food was presented nicely, and service was OK as a whole but I'm not sure I'd come back on my own accord again. Definitely nice to say I've visited & tried it out at least once though!

As a manager, professionalism and customer service matter, especially when guests are celebrating special occasions. Better reservation management could have prevented this situation entirely. Even other guests nearby seemed shocked by what was happening. Roger ended up apologizing on her behalf, even though he was not the issue. He truly did his best to save the experience, while the manager never came back to apologize herself.
