We stopped by the A Storage Place's Del Sol location to check out their prices and availability. There is a lot to like about this place. This is in a nice location where the surrounding area is not too crowded or busy. They have daily office hours from 9am-6pm. Gate hours for tenants is from 5am-8pm. They seem to have a lot of security measures - special access to get onto the premises and through any door, as well as surveillance cameras. There are a variety of unit sizes; it is just a matter of finding an available one in the size that you need. They have a number of units that have access from the outside and also some that are completely indoors. Their buildings have AC which is a major plus! Indoor units also have access to carts that may be used to move belongings to and from and elevators for areas with a second floor. They also have music playing quietly throughout which is especially great for the indoor units so that it is not all quiet and eerie. All areas looked to be clean and well maintained. The staff was very nice and helpful. And, prices seemed to be reasonable. The only downfall for us was availability, which is definitely not a negative thing to judge them by. Guessing they really are as good as they appear, so why wouldn't their units be pretty much filled up?

Later on that day, I went online just to see how big these units were and the pricing; there happened to be an online special going on for the unit size that I was searching for. I filled out all my information online & paid for my storage unit, it took me less than 10 minutes and I received confirmation in my email immediately. A few days passed by before I actually went into the office but when I finally did, I finished up paper work which consist of an agreement of what I can put in storage, a copy of my ID, and if I wanted another individual's name listed or not; the basic stuff. This is the first time I have ever rented a storage unit and so far it has been a very good experience for me. The ladies at the front office counters are extremely nice! I come in, sign in on the log with my name, time, and storage unit no. Then I am given the red keychain with the key that allows me to open my storage unit door (they're listed in Alphabetical Order then each door has a number assigned). After I am done, I proceed back to the office to return the key & check out. One time, there was a sign on the door that said "back in 5 minutes" I ended up dropping the red keychain with the key in the mail slot since there was also a sign that said I could do that. So far, I am very happy with the services here and I will continue to keep my belongings here as long as I need them to be in storage.

When you go to sign someone up on your storage, place them on your account, state that they are authorized to access your belongings and manage that account..... it does not mean anything!!!!! We lost the key to the storage right after we moved everything in as we were getting ready for a deployment, we were told by Maureen that we would be able to gain access to the storage no problem and she would even waive the 15.00 fee to open it up for us -one time only. All we had to do was call her ahead of time so that she could have the tools needed to open the lock. My son went to gain access (also was placed on the account) to the storage and the gal turned him away,not Maureen but another woman claiming not to know anything about this arrangement. Picture this- this was not a simple drive over, it is 100 degrees outside, you have a vehicle full of items that needed to go in and it is 40 minutes before they close. Also you are paying over 200.00 a month and for same strange reason, our name on the account means nothing? we cannot have access? What changed ? We are told we now have to have our service member send a copy of their id card to them. A fax copy. lets think about this now, while deployed over seas, who can easily do this? no one i know of. I mean floating n the middle of the gulf, send a fax... it is down right stupid. so this storage is being paid for and with no real resolutions to gaining access. What a huge disappointment as I recommended my family here. The only time they tried to rectify this was AFTER we closed the storage and AFTER i wrote this YELP, they could not give a far fig newton about this until then. I am embarrassed and disgusted the way this has turned out. The gal (Lori) that answered the phone tried to say that the law requires,, etc etc. Well then why would we waste time on adding people to the list of people able to handle the account and have access to the storage if it doesn't mean anything when we need to get access. I will not recommend this place EVER again and for the hassle I wont be coming back. As soon as our family member returned we got his things out of hostage from Super Storage, Poor business practice and they do not stand by their word. After being exceptional tenants for over a decade we were given a Termination of Lease notification. The long and the short of it is that the on-site Manager didn't like that I questioned the increase in rent (75% increase in 3 years) when she took over for the first on-site Manager we had. So when I let her know that we had mold in the unit she curtly said that they couldn't do anything unless I moved my stuff. Unfortunately, they had no open units and I had nowhere to move my items to. A year later I noticed evidence of termites in the unit. When I wrote a formal letter to notify the on-site Manager and the Owner (who, by the way, is impossible to contact) and asked for assistance, I received the Lease Termination Notice not 30 minutes later. And because we vacated the unit ASAP they would not honor the agreement to compensate us for our moving costs. I was supposed to infer that they would only charge me half the rent due for July. But because we moved by the end of June, this did not apply. I was accused of having no common sense, no people skills, and that I needed to work on my customer service skills. I have never felt so victimized and belittled by anyone. So, if you are willing to pay $330/ month for a 10' x 20' storage unit with mold and termites and an on-site Manager who will only be sweet as pie if you don't question her in any way, then be my guest. But I cannot recommend this storage facility to anyone. I gave one star because the area is pretty much safe and the facility is relatively secure.
