The manager's Charles and Janie were able to accommodate me at the absolute last minute as I had reserved a storage unit across the street with a not so professional manager (company name not included) I called Charles at Stor-it Mini warehouse and he could accommodate my needs right away. The unit is easy to access and clean. I feel absolutely safe with my belongings there. I would highly recommend them. My ongoing complete satisfaction with the staff. I accidentally left a couple items outside of my storage door when I left last week. That afternoon, I received a courteous, reminder call of my oversight. I was so pleased to have been able to return to the storage to find my belongings were safe and intact (right where I had left them). They regularly patrol the property and keep a tight watch out for any unusual activity. There have so many times over the years that management has treated me so well and helped me with significant inconveniences that they turned into non-issues. I would give this place zero stars if available do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else. The manager Janie M is not only rude but condescending and has the worst attitude I've ever seen. She should not be working in the customer service field. She complained about her job having to deal with idiots saying she's too old for this and that she doesn't even want to be there anymore. The other on-site manager, her husband, Charles M got in my face and backed me into a corner at the top of their staircase all this over an issue that could've easily been resolved by asking somebody else to move their shit. All this over, asking them for assistance to have somebody move their stuff that was blocking the entire walkway at the top of their stairwell. It was so bad that Janie pulled up in her golf cart and started screaming at the other people that she was going to throw their f***ing s**t off the balcony. Their aggressive behavior got so bad that we had to call the police department for assistance. Both Charles and Janie seem to be intoxicated and could smell alcohol on their breath when they got in mine and my fiancé's face. Janie even had the nerve to put her arm around my daughter and after multiple attempts to tell her to get off her, she finally did. Every other word out of Janie's mouth was an F bomb the a word horrible mouth on her especially in front of my minor daughter. The buildings look trashy the floors are just plywood with splinters coming up out of them. The doors do not shut properly. A few months ago, they raised everyone's rent almost doubled it claiming for maintenance issues and the rising cost of doing business. They do not fix shit. There's stuff broken everywhere in that complex. Both on-site managers are always seen sitting in their golf carts, smoking cigarettes. Which is funny because they have signs everywhere that they are a no smoking property. The managers live on property and have two very large dogs that bark like crazy and are always in the office when you try to go in. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service that I have ever seen in my life. The Manager Lady and her daughter have some extremely warped social skills, and they are both on some undeserved, inflated power trip. The man on site and the maintenance person are both generally pleasant, though. I am absolutely amazed that the property owner continues to employ the two women. Today I got a letter in the mail about a price increase. Little did I know it was not a increase but straight robbery. It went up 100% which is robbery to me. I park on the side of a building for Jesus Christ. I understand cost increase but doubling everyone's storage fees is ridiculous. Just because of principle I can no longer rent here. The managers are very great people but because of a 100 percent increase I have terminated my lease. In times where people are struggling to stretch their money and to have a company do this in my opinion is just wrong. I'm not saying rate increases shouldn't happen but a 100 percent increase the owners should be ashamed of themselves. Don't rent here and support someone like this. read more

As tenants at this complex, we have gone through two sets of on-site managers before Janie and Charles -- the first was a curmudgeon-y married couple with an ax to grind if they had to do any work, and the second was a father/daughter team who were pleasant enough, but didn't do a whole lot to maintain the complex. Enter Janie and Charles who have been a god-send to us -- we currently rent three parking spots from Stor-It and they are the eyes and ears of the complex. They treat the entire property as if it were their own -- without us having to ask/beg, they change burned out bulbs, chase out anyone who doesn't belong there, and are pro-active vs re-active! In almost 15 years at our complex, we have never seen it look better -- thank you both for your care toward your fellow tenants and your customers! read more

YOU MAY NEVER SEE YOUR THINGS AGAIN!!! DO NOT USE. These people are ruthless. Absolutely, positively, rude, mean and ruthless. If you are 6 weeks late in paying your bill, they will sell your stuff at auction and you may not even know it! This doesn't matter if you are in the military, in a coma, in hell, or in dire straits, they don't care and will sell your things. This happened to me and I lost everything I own. I mean everything- photos, sentimental items from deceased relatives, expensive clothing, school books, personal papers, expensive household items. They sent me a letter telling me that my stuff was sold at auction. They sold about 8,000$ worth of my things for 600$. When I asked what happened, they were rude and mean. They are in cahoots with people that buy storage units at auction as a living. The man in the office told my husband who purchased my unit and where to find him (at the Santee Swap Meet). We rushed there and were able to recover a few odd things here and there. All my clothing, (chanel, prada, versace, etc.) gone, all my books, gone. All my personal photographs, gone. All my kitchen items from Williams Sonoma given to me by my husband, gone. To boot the guy that bought my stuff Rahman said that earlier in the day a guy came in and bought all this beautiful clothing probably worth aver 4,000$" Thanks, jackass. The salt in my wounds with lemon. Ouch. At the Santee Swap Meet, next to my leather jacket, was a military uniform. I couldn't help but think that there was this unfortunate soldier or maybe a spouse of a decesed soldier who lost their things at auction for whatever reason and maybe didn't even know they did. We also found the soldier's child's baby pictures and birth certificate in the trash while looking for my stuff. It's just terrible. These people are scavengers, scum of the earth. They are using the political climiate and the poor economy to rob people. I am devastated by this and would never want a decent yelper out there to suffer the same fate. We've been using stor-it for a year now and are pleased with the friendly customer service and cleanliness of the unit. They also give you three months free (scattered throughout the year) with a year's signed lease. I would suggest to those customers falling on hard times to keep in contact with them and they are liable to work with you. read more

This place now has new pavement and new management but many long time individual and business customers. One of the very few storage facilities where the space you pay for might actually be larger than quoted (such as a 10x25 really being 10x27). Good rates (usually with a month free after you stay 3 - with the pattern continuing IF you contract in advance for a year) and reasonable gate hours but still no website info or online payment options. First of the month tends to be busy in the office with many renters coming in person or calling in payment information. One of the few storage facilities with 2 restrooms and 4 accessible bins to dispose of trash (no longer wanting to store) and recyclable material (of possible use for someone else). read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Please, go ANYWHERE else except here. The manager "Jeanie" is exceptionally rude and extremely unprofessional. My friend got a phone call from her stating we owed an absurd amount of money, and then *click*, the "manager" hangs up the phone! My friend didn't even get the chance to ask any questions or figure out how the issue could be resolved since she was RUDELY HUNG UP ON BEFORE SHE COULD UTTER ANOTHER WORD. My friend would have gladly had a civil conversation with Jeanie after she had told us what the amount was that we owed, however that was impossible considering that the "manager" Jeanie hungup the phone! Not only did this "manager" childishly hangup the phone, the entire time she did speak she had a rude, bossy and downright menacing tone. As a manager, or anyone who works in customer service, if there is any discrepancy or issue a customer is having it is your job to be HELPFUL, look into the situation at hand and above all not HANGUP the phone on someone who is simply looking to get answers and solve the problem. Horrible business with an even worse management team. Keep our own sad misfortune of coming across this circus in mind and DO NOT do business with these children. read more

Noting the response from Stor-It Mini Warehouse I believe one can easily discern that Stor-It Mini Warehouse still does not understand how egregious their behavior has been - even with an alleged change in management. Lack of money on our part was not the issue that caused this issue, but rather the expiration on the credit card that was processed automatically on a monthly basis. That credit card belonged to my 72 year old mother in-law who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer only a month before. The last thing that was on her mind, or our families, was if her credit card number had expired. Had Stor-It Mini followed the law and made a phone call or sent correspondence to the proper address they had on file, none of this would have happened as we would presented the new credit card information without any hesitation. Despite any suggestion to the contrary, we did not have any financial difficulties or reason not to pay. The credit card had expired and as a business owner, I know how often that happens and how easy it can be resolved with a simple phone call. As for the suggestion that our family was somehow at fault, when we sued Stor-It Mini Warehouse, the judge did not award us our full asking amount because we could not substantiate the value of the items since most items in the unit were family related treasures and mementos which are not easy to determine the value of. The judge's decision stated clearly Stor-It Mini Warehouse was completely in the wrong and did not give any suggestion our family was culpable at all. The reduced award was about the value of the items in the unit and not about sharing responsibility. Had we decided to pursue this matter in San Diego Superior Court, the attorneys I have spoken with suggested that punitive damages could have been ask for and most likely awarded given considering the behavior of the staff and management of Stor-It Mini Warehouse. This is why an agreement waving the storage company of all liability was forced on my family (we refused to sign and then were threatened with physical harm). I could on and on about the illegal and unprofessional behavior of the company and the staff, but it really comes down to is people need to be very careful if you are going to have any dealings with Stor-It Min Warehouse. read more

I have had my belongings in this facility for a long time due to prolonged un- and under employment and having to move in with family. The staff has been very accommodating since the first day I moved in. I originally chose the facility because it is the same neighborhood I would be living. I have stayed because they have worked with me on adjusting contracts, notifying me when my unit may have been damaged by a city water main break, and generally being pleasant to work with. It is amazing to me that people aren't aware of the monthly bills they have committed themselves to. How do you forget your rent or mortage payment or cell phone bill?? This is no different! If you pay attention at all to your finances you would realize that the bill has not been paid, and investigate. That's being a responsible adult. I would recommend Stor-it to anyone. read more

I have been using this storage company for almost one year. Never had any problems so far. Jessica is extremely nice and so is her father. They have always been helpful and professional. I guess if you dont pay your bill in a reasonable amount of time and dont communicate with them, then there might be a problem. I have been storing my stuff here for the Last 3 years. The first two years were run pretty lame. However this last year new managers took over and they wasted no time getting this place in tip top shape. Honestly the new managers (very competent wife and husband) have been so proactive in making sure everything, that was involved in the complete facelift of the entire property was done right. If i didnt kno better i would have thought they own the place. Then when I saw the the amount of hours they were working I knew they were not the owners. Whoever is the owner I hope you realize what a great choice you made hiring those too. They are no slouches, they are the kind of people that made America great from hard work and intelligence.
