This is a lot, but the amount of frustration has been absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. Short story do not use Public Storage!! Do not use the Orange Door Insurance!!! May 2024 Reservation for a unit at Public Storage at 3750 Williow Glen Dr was made. Dawn was very helpful and patient while we set up the account. She is absolutely the only good thing about this location. May 27th, 2025 Last time we were able to enter the storage unit without any issues. End of June 2025 Went in to get luggage and a few other things and we noticed the lock was stuck. Reported it to personnel. Kept going every couple of weeks to keep trying lock without any luck and would report it to personnel when someone happened to be there. August 28th, 2025 Reported it once more with the cleaning personnel. She tried the lock as well and she called management to report the lock not working. Manager office said they already had a report of lock failure and request for a locksmith to come cut lock and for it to be replaced. She took down our phone number again and said someone would call us to let know when locksmith would be over in case, we wanted to be present. September 13th, 2025 Went to unit to see if anything had been done. No one at the office. There is rarely anybody at this location September 16th, 2025 Daughter called to set up appointment for follow up on locksmith request. Upon second call with Public Storage, we were told that the lock had already been replaced on September 11th and that we can come in to get new keys. Nobody had called, emailed or smoked signal to update us about the locksmith coming over and the lock being replaced until we called. Made an appointment for Saturday, September 20th at 10:30am at get keys. September 20th, 2025 Went in for appointment, got keys from front desk and when we opened the unit, we noticed things were moved around, boxes with clothes and shoes were ransacked. Furniture was moved around from originally placed. Noticed items were missing. We were told to proceed with police report for stolen items and then file with Public Storage. October 22nd, 2025 Police Report was scanned and submitted with a list of stolen items for the Orange Door Storage Insurance claim. Again, filing a claim was easy. Assigned an agent Erica Garcia and a claim number. At this point we start playing phone tag. Multiple messages were left and no call backs. We went from Erica to Jay to Kevin, no updates, no callbacks, no help whatsoever. Weeks of phone tag to be finally told that our insurance claim has been denied because we do not have any proof that the lock was tampered with. Now the obvious thing would be checking the security cameras, right? Cameras are everywhere; there is one by our unit. According to the sheriff deputy who took our call Public Storage tapes over any surveillance footage and there is no way to get any footage that fits our timeline (conveniently) because it's not like we weren't actively trying to get this lock replaced. So, there you have it folks, you pay on time, you pay extra for the insurance and Public Storage keeps you from your personal items for weeks and months all to ultimately fail at the one service they claim to provide. "We'll treat your stuff like it's our stuff" I guess that means take YOUR stuff when THEY want it read more

I decided on Public Storage 92019, the main reason was not only how well maintained,clean,this storage was ,but an employee ' Dawn' Burgess, not only made me feel welcomed, and that it would be ok. I can tell you that amazing customer service was not just because she wanted me to fork out more money , it has been constant with her,when we see her she is always welcoming, and she makes you feel at ease no matter what!!! I rented a storage unit today and had a great experience. I made a reservation online and scheduled a time to come to the office to show my ID to complete my rental. Dawn called me to confirm my reservation and rescheduled when I was unable to make it for my reserved time. She was really helpful when I arrived. I saw her picking up a couple pieces of trash (there wasn't much--a napkin and a dropped brochure) on the tour, taking pride in keeping the facility tidy. She was friendly and the whole process was a breeze. read more

We will be moving out of our unit before the end of the month. We have been dissatisfied for awhile not being able to get in the door s and the constant raises in pricing. This company wants to charge the highest rates but not give even average service. I have been trying to get into the door to our unit, when I asked why the codes are not working. I was told "You need to know the secret of slamming your hip into the door and then yanking on the door". The doors have not worked correctly for years. The one door closest to our unit has never worked. Now, I have run into men sleeping inside after dark. That is the final straw. When our safety is in jeopardy, that's the last straw. read more

Unfortunately the security at the Public Storage facilities is very poor. Our unit was broken into and everything was stolen. The Public Storage website now allows people to rent a unit completely online without any identification verification at the facility, this led to someone renting a unit online with stolen identification to gain access. Then the thieves were able to easily drive in to the facility using their access codes and break into several units undetected. Over $15K worth of goods were stolen from our unit as well as priceless family heirlooms and keepsakes. DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE, find another more secure storage company. read more

Disrespectful, non-existent customer service. First of all, I was disrespected from the get-go from some older man with a country accent. Unfortunately I never caught his name, but apparently he isn't even the property manager so I'm not exactly sure who he was other than he worked here (the actual property manager is acting like he doesn't even exist), but he's the one I paid for the service. When signing me up, he spelled my name wrong. I corrected him. He acted like he changed it to the right name, but he never did. To be 100% honest it felt like a discrimination issue, and until I can have a conversation about this with someone and get to the bottom of what happened, I'm going to leave it at that. They wouldn't even change it so I couldn't get in or use the app. Told me I had to make an appointment which was days out. I had to make a fake email address using the wrong email they used when signing me up to "hack" my way into the app in the meantime. I've been able to get to my storage unit, but my name is still wrong and I need the receipt for legal reasons. The storage unit is nice, so they at least get 2 stars for that, but this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company in western society. Disrespectful is the primary word that comes to mind. I had to threaten legal action before the current property manager would even take my call. Stay away! read more

I moved out of my storage unit on February 28, 2021 after having units there for several years. I informed them, online, two weeks before, that I was vacating my unit on that date. I told the person on duty that I would be out by 6pm. The employee said she would take care of the vacate the next day. I now have received an email from Public Storage on March 1, 2021, stating that I owe another month of rent for $320. Since, I vacated the unit on Feb. 28 and not on March 1, it was up to the employee to put the right date on my vacate. I would not recommend Public Storage because this is something they do. read more

I want to say that this place deserves negative Stars. I've been constantly making my payments and being consistent and yet I've been locked out of my storage unit for months now because of some b******* ID verification that this region is implementing. I've done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment from this facility my authorized user is the correct person that goes in and out of my storage unit and I do not cause any problems plus I've also been a victim of theft at this storage facility and I can't file police report saying anything about it because I couldn't get into my storage unit to determine what was gone and what wasn't if anybody may have any advice of what I should do to resolve this issue please reach out to me and let me know because I find this completely wrong and criminal even because I can't access my belongings that I've been paying for the storage for even though I'm not behind on my payments or anything so thank you but f*** this place. read more

Racheal rocks, the facility, not so much. Everything started off fabulous, Racheal is awesome, very friendly, and she deserves 5 stars but then we go to check out the storage unit to confirm if it will be the right fit for me and BAM!!! No freakin golf cart to use. Instead we must walk to our destination. Very disappointing because I love golf carts. Anyhoot, 4 minutes of my existance is spent walking and conquering a small, semi-steep hill in unpleasant heat. During this unwelcoming adventure, I think to myself, "This sucks, I should leave." However, Racheal cheers me up so I decide to stay, moreover the hill made the walk back to the office, efficient by speeding up our walk time. Fast forward, I sign the agreement, drive inside, park and go to look for a cart, a flatbed or a dolly so I can load my very clean and slightly air conditioned storage unit up with my precious boxes of junk and NOTHING! Insert lots of cursing here. TIP: bring your own dolly or you will have to share my pain. I made several trips from car to storage which rekindled the unpleasant, no golf cart expierence. I became frustrated so my advice is, don't do it! Do not come here unless you enjoy walking and own a dolly. I'm already shopping around for another place. read more

My experience started out OK, but then went downhill fast. When signing up, I wasn't told about how I had to buy THEIR lock & have THEIR insurance. I got my own insurance, but they never sent refund check for portion I paid. Last month had real problems. First I get a call from Jennifer that my unit had been broken into along with 6 others. She said their security cameras don't work at night.... (really???). On the first of mo., I went in to pay my rent & give notice (they only require a 2-day notice) that I'd be out on 12th. She said I had to pay the FULL month. I've NEVER heard of anything like that!!! Why can't I pro-rate it like all other places? Even talking to Rob, the district mgr., said the same thing. That's wrong! IF I need storage again, it won't be with PS. read more

Like another reviewer, things started off well despite having additional charges to buy their lock and insurance. We specifically asked if the last month is pro-rated if we don't need it for the full month and we were assured that it would be. I paid my bill on the 1st of the month and we were able to have everything out and the unit clean on the 10th. As we're doing the close out paperwork we asked how the return of the prorated money would be handled only to be informed that they don't prorate the final month.... Wait, what??? I have the biggest unit offered, we're talking about $179 bucks here! Nope, they can't do it and they offered no recourse. So I call the corporate office who also state that they don't prorate the last month when the month has been paid in advance... As if there's an option of only paying a select number of days online. I point out that if that is the policy, then why aren't their employees better trained to not offer this as a selling point? The response was a automated sounding "we will make sure your concerns are taken up with the facility manager" what a bunch of BS. If that's the policy, that's fine, but don't tell me something different just to sell me on the unit. We busted our asses to get everything out quickly so we could get a little change in our pockets, if we were getting nothing out of it, we could have utilized the remaining month to move our stuff into the new house in a much more organized manner. I don't usually do reviews, but I hope that this will help someone else make a better choice in their storage needs. read more

Hannah was very professional and courteous, for some reason my online reservation was cancelled. She helped me reserve and purchase a unit that was less than what I was quoted for online, which is supposed to be discounted more than the in store price. I arrived, saw my unit, registered and paid all within 10 minutes. Thank you Hanna & Public Storage, best prices in town and very convenient location. I also want to add, insurance & a lock are required at every storage facility, not sure why there are so many bad reviews over that, this was not my first rodeo renting a storage unit and I already had expected to buy a lock and pay for insurance until I acquired my own. I even asked about rent hikes in the future, I was told maybe down the line in 6 months. Rachel is just doing her job, and by agreeing to the TOS when you rented the unit it is your responsibility to check, most of the bad reviewers here are at fault imo. read more

The hidden cost is the required insurance, which other places require too but PS doesn't tell you about it until the end. ACE down the road is newer and cheaper. She also asked me to give her a five star review on google using her name while i filled out the paper work. Also I had to bring my skateboard to use as a dolly. I think they have one on the whole site but it's a hassle. ACE has them everywhere. But I had billing problems with ACE and was over charged. Whatever. My boyfriend and I were shopping around to find a good storage place and were very happy with this. Rick was the one helping us and he was just great. He took the time to actually talk with us and explain things. Awesome people skills and made us feel welcome. Other than that, the location is great. Easy to get into and out of. Each resident gets their own separate gate code and locks. It doesn't seem very active, and its private and quiet. The building we are in is temperature controlled which is perfect especially when storing photographs. The corridors are nice and wide so its easy when moving large pieces. Really happy with what we have and would recommend in a heartbeat. read more

The worst customer relationship of any company I've dealt with. The staff are literally robots run by Corporate. They have a set policy and they have to stick with it no matter what circumstances According to Denise in the Corporate office to Dec 17th 2020. My 39 year old daughter had a heart attack 14 months ago. Now has a defribulatior implanted in her chest. She was in a coma for a week and in the hospital for a month so I was forced to move her out of her apartment and open her a storage in my name since she was in a coma. The staff was told and fully aware our situation when I moved in and seemed to have sympathy. Apparently not beyond Corporate LAW! She's doing much better now still has issues and living with us. So to give her a little more independence I was like lets go change the storage into your name. She was all happy so we went down to the Johnson Ave storage asked to transfer storage into her name and Manuel abruptly said No! Corporate Rules! She must open her own unit. We we're like ok give us a unit.. He then turned and said all our units are full cause of COVID-19 this was back in November. So we were forced to find somewhere else. We got on a waiting list was called by another storage company that does transfer ownership on Dec 3 we then moved out I went to the office tild him we vacated and he then said you need to pay full month. Even though I'm sure they to have a waiting list. This Company is ruthless money hungry considering all the on going circumstances of COVID-19, My daughters Bad heart, storage units packed full no vacancies. I even talk with Denise of Corporate and explained everything and she also COLD AS ICE. I wished her a Merry Christmas and sadly hung up. This world has truly changed. read more

Rachel ROCKS!! We have had a unit at this facility for several years and while I am not thrilled about the price constantly being raised, I deal with it so long as our property is guarded and protected. Our unit was always indoors and while I loved that, it made me very fearful to go there by myself. There are no cameras in the interior (for privacy reasons) and so I asked Rachel to let me know as soon as an exterior unit, the same size as mine, became available. She was very compassionate and understanding and worked very hard to find me a drive up unit. The moment a drive up unit became available, I was the first person she called. She did not just toss my request in the trash and ignore it. Within 48hrs I was moved into my new unit and was very pleased by her service!!! read more

We have been storing our belongings at PS for a couple of years. The rent and late fees are unreasonable and our roll up door has been broken for months. We asked Rachel, Antoinette and Rob, the District Manager to fix it back in May. Now PS won't fix the door until we pay rent and fees for a storage unit that we cannot access. I have been with this place since it first opened under Shurguard. The site is very clean and the units are monitored well. The only problem is that the staff is really daft. They just don't seem to know much and give me the impression they would rather not be bothered. They need more education and, perhaps, a tad interest in their job. read more

It's been 30 years since my last move. I dreaded having to put my stuff in storage until my house sold and I found another one. All of my concerns left when I found Public Storage. Rachel was so helpful and assured me that security was one of their primary concerns. I will say this--the facilities are immaculate and that also gave me peace of mind. I was really appreciative that Rachel took the time to explain the process and walked me to our location. I was happy to great online rate. However, I must admit being new to this whole arena, I didn't know what questions to ask when comparing storage rates with the various companies out there. My only complaint so far is that they added a $21.99 charge for a "cylindrical lock" to the contract that was never mentioned online, on the phone, or during the contract signing. That didn't set too well with me. Had I the time and energy I may have shopped around a little more but time was of the essence in my situation. Chances are, it may be customary practice for storage facilities to "throw in" fees without telling their tenants ahead of time. Who knows. read more
