All Right Storage is not secured overnight. The pedestrian gates are unlocked and the doors to the…read morebuildings are left propped open. If they have an alarm system they don't set it. I had a stack of boxes fall on me in one of their units. It was totally my fault. But I hurt my back and ankle pretty bad and I thought I should go to urgent care just in case. By the time I crammed the stuff back in my storage unit and hobbled to my vehicle, it was a few minutes after their 7:00pm closing time. When I entered my code to the vehicle exit gate it said "access denied, no after hours access." I found an employee named Diego who tried his gate code and got the same result. Diego said he would go to the office and get a gate code that would work. He never came back. By 7:45 I had called every phone number I could find for All Right Storage and sent them an email (they haven't returned my messages by the way). I decided to try to track down Diego or any employee. For almost 2 hours I wandered All Right Storage yelling and making noise. Walking in and out of buildings, through gates, opening closed doors, etc and no one ever approached me. I never set off an alarm. I never encountered a single employee or security patrol. Needless to say if I had been a thief, no one would have stopped me from cracking every lock in that place. A thief couldn't get his car on property, but that's no problem since even their dolly and cart area was unsecured and all the pedestrian gates to the street were wide open. I eventually got a friend to pick me up and I had to return for my vehicle the next day. I spoke to the facility manager. Basically, his response was that I shouldn't have been there after 7 and it's normal for the entire facility to be left unsecured overnight. Because "in 8 years we've never had a problem." He said that to the guy with the problem, unbelievable, right?

To Corporate Management, I am writing this review to express…read moremy deep frustration and agitation regarding my experience at National City Self Storage. While the base rental rates appear reasonable at first, the facility relies on uncommunicated fine print, rigid payment terms, and poor customer service that make storing here a nightmare. Key issues that require immediate corporate attention: Excessive Lock Fees: Charging $20 simply to cut a lock on top of $15 for a replacement lock totaling over $35 is unreasonable. Unfair Billing Restrictions: Customers are not allowed to clear a prior month's balance individually once a new cycle starts. Even on the very first day of a new billing period, you are forced to pay both months together along with late fees, regardless of financial circumstances. Uncommunicated Payment Methods: Staff failed to inform me that certain fees must be paid strictly in cash in person. Having funds on a card forced me to incur additional bank/ATM cash withdrawal fees. Severe Neglect of Customer Care: I was forced to navigate all of these hidden hurdles in 104°F heat with my 2-year-old child. Had staff explained these policies upfront, I could have completed everything in one trip instead of exposing my child to dangerous heat. The staff and facility policies failed me as a customer and as a parent. I am posting this publicly and contacting corporate so that this location is held accountable and forced to reform its transparency and customer treatment.
