To Corporate Management, I am writing this review to express…read moremy deep frustration and agitation regarding my experience at National City Self Storage. While the base rental rates appear reasonable at first, the facility relies on uncommunicated fine print, rigid payment terms, and poor customer service that make storing here a nightmare. Key issues that require immediate corporate attention: Excessive Lock Fees: Charging $20 simply to cut a lock on top of $15 for a replacement lock totaling over $35 is unreasonable. Unfair Billing Restrictions: Customers are not allowed to clear a prior month's balance individually once a new cycle starts. Even on the very first day of a new billing period, you are forced to pay both months together along with late fees, regardless of financial circumstances. Uncommunicated Payment Methods: Staff failed to inform me that certain fees must be paid strictly in cash in person. Having funds on a card forced me to incur additional bank/ATM cash withdrawal fees. Severe Neglect of Customer Care: I was forced to navigate all of these hidden hurdles in 104°F heat with my 2-year-old child. Had staff explained these policies upfront, I could have completed everything in one trip instead of exposing my child to dangerous heat. The staff and facility policies failed me as a customer and as a parent. I am posting this publicly and contacting corporate so that this location is held accountable and forced to reform its transparency and customer treatment.

I loved that they had dumpsters upfront that we could use to get rid of stuff we didn't want anymore. Many of the other storage renters did too by the fact they filled up very quickly! The areas around the storage spaces where always kept clean. You could almost guarantee that someone from the staff would be cleaning, sweeping or driving by while I was there. Carlos and Carmen made it very easy to keep my stuff at their storage space. They were very accommodating if we needed to upsize or downsize or just needed an extra space for awhile. They were always looking to see what they could do for me when I needed their help.

Serious facility or policy complaints. * Pests and Property Damage: Some long-term renters have reported severe rodent infestations, including chewed boxes, ruined clothing, and damaged paperwork, alongside slow response times from management regarding property damage claims. * Strict Fees and Policies: Complaints highlight aggressive fee enforcement, such as steep charges ($200+) for leaving trash behind or late departures ($250), combined with restricted access to trash disposal bins. * Steep Ramps and Maintenance: Customers note that older sections of certain local facilities feature rundown infrastructure, steep inclines, and locked waste receptacles. Locked or non-existent trash bins, forcing renters to haul garbage across steep inclines. * Steep Rate Hikes: Sudden and significant monthly rent increases after initial promotional periods or long-term rentals have frustrated departing customers.
