Throughout my business career, I have rented out many storage units all over San Diego, but I have to say honestly that this facility has been by far the most outstanding facility ever starting with the location. It is convenient because it's close to all the major shopping stores and one of the perks to this facility is that it is private more than all the other ones and I also like the fact that the manager is always so nice and is always willing to help and work with me in all my storage needs. Customer service with every rep has always been pleasant. I highly recommend this location overall and I can guarantee anyone that they will be satisfied renting here. read more

This storage location has great customer service Idalia really goes above and beyond and is very nice. I definitely recommend this location.

Been at the storage facility since 2018 and every year they raise the rates. Paying way too much money for the little storage space that I had. Plus Front Desk girl with glasses has horrible customer service. So happy to cancel my account with them moved to a different spot in Chula Vista 3x a the size way less money. I should've moved out years ago. read more

I just wanted to say just how great Idalia was today when I got after my flight I was mad and she calmed me down and helped me.

I started with a larger unit, but then donated some furniture, so I asked about transferring to a smaller unit. Idalia was very patient and answered all my questions about the process. I can see why she is in charge. I was almost going to move to another storage facility because of a special offer, but decided to stay at A1. You cannot beat great service! read more

I had somethings that I needed to store until I got a bigger place and stumbled upon this place by chance. I walked in was greeted by Gina who offered to show me a couple of units. To be honest the thought of walking into a storage facility has always scared ever since Silence of the Lambs. I was shocked at how clean the facility was and how well lit the halls were. I decided to trust my belongings with A-1. I can honestly say that Gina and her staff went out of their way to assist me and I couldn't be happier. After a year I found my place and recently got my things out of storage. Everything was exactly how I'd left it, no spiders or critters in my boxes. I highly recommend A-1 to anyone who needs a storage. Thanks A-1 for going above and beyond with your customer service and for keeping such a secure and clean facility for your tenants!! read more

Thank you to other yelpers for writing the reviews! I was about to go to another storage place and they had terrible reviews. Then I saw A1 Self Storage's reviews! I rarely give 5 stars, but this place deserves them for sure. It was so easy to reserve a unit online. Then when we went into the office, Jules was extremely friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. He went through everything quick, but thoroughly. Showed us the unit and again was thorough on everything during our tour of the facilities. GREAT SERVICE!! The storage place has flatbed carts and elevators! Thank you! Very clean and spacious place. We rented a 5x5 unit for $59/month. read more

This was the first time I have the need for storage space. I went here based of recommendation. "Gina", the young lady in charge was very professional and gave great service. She showed me a couple of options on storage sizes & prices....she also asked if I needed boxes or any other "moving" accessories (which they had all available at their store)... and actually, I earned myself 3-FREE boxed by checking-in here with my Yelp Droid APP!! The place is VERY secure and was very clean. I had no reservations about leaving my valuables here. bottomline, I got Great Service... A good Price... and an overall good Feeling. Okay, so I needed a storage facility. I originally thought of A-1 because it is close to where I will be staying in Chula Vista. Then, upon researching, decided I really wanted ground floor access and A-1 was a little to expensive. I had decided, in my head, to go to Eastlake Storage. The day before I was going to secure the unit, I decided to check out the reviews on Yelp for Eastlake. They were NOT great. They were pretty recent, and they were talking about theft, and surveillance and bad customer service. I thought I should research a little further before committing. Back I came to A-1 Self Storage - and checked their reviews on Yelp. Five Stars all the way. Every review mentioned Gina, so I thought - for sure - she had written them herself! But, after receiving all 5-star reviews, how could I not go check them out? I did that this past Saturday - and lo and behold - who assisted me? Yes, Gina! She is EVERYTHING the other reviewers said she is! Professional, yet fun and friendly. She was SO helpful in assisting me with picking the right size unit. All that aside, I wouldn't have gone there if the place wasn't top notch...I don't have a lot of stuff, but it's mine and I want it safe. The place is AWESOME...clean and secure. It is convenient and they go out of their way to make the process painless. No, I didn't get a ground floor unit, but the access is pretty easy and the elevator is huge. I don't think I will have any trouble getting my stuff in. I could have saved myself a lot of time by just going with A-1 in the first place. If you are looking for storage space and are ANYWHERE NEAR Chula Vista - A1 is the place to go!!! Thank you Gina for everything....if Gina's boss is reading this, she deserves a raise!!! read more

Units are huge and well priced. All if out stuff fit well in 1 unit. Edson is the best and was very helpful. Thanks Edson

I would say that having the need for storing items isn't high on anyone's list which usually means it is a process and you get through it as quickly as you can. That being said working with A1 Storage and Gina is far more than you would expect. My story is as follows.. I was moving my household items from the midwest and could not tell exactly how much space I needed. Gina worked with me in multiple options and pricing promotions to see what would work best once my items showed up. Well it took nearly 30 days for my stuff to arrive however Gina was checking in on a regular basis to see how things were going and provided new updates on units that would fit my needs. Suffice to say she was in contact with me vial email and over the phone all the way up to the delivery point. When I finally got to the office she and the team had everything ready to go exactly as she described the process to be. Everything we discussed was in writing with no surprises. The facilities are quiet and clean with many options. The pricing is very competitive with other properties in the area. At the end of the day working with their team was what took it over the top and made it a pleasant and positive experience vs a process you deal with as quickly as possible. If you have storage needs long or short term, do yourself a favor and reach out to Gina and the team. I am confident your experience will be helpful, pleasant and positive regardless of if you ultimately choose to partner with A1 Storage in Chula Vista. Give them a shot. It will be worth your time to see how they can partner with you. It certainly was for me. read more

Sorry for the confusion. Next time I will check with you. Seems like you guys care more then the other place down the street. Thanks read more

Exemplary! We are new to A-1 Storage (Chula Vista) and are 100% pleased with the safety, service, cleanliness and access. From start to finish, what was a horrific reason for us to have to obtain storage in the first place, this has become quite a pleasant experience. I cannot rave enough about Graciela. As I told her today on the phone, she is now my personal "Storage Angel"! Her politeness of helping three generations, her promptness with emails, and ability to respond thoroughly to all questions and concerns, and her sweet demeanor on the phone has lifted my spirits regarding customer service in Chula Vista, which has been lacking in so many places for so many years, unfortunately. Thank you! read more

For this being my first time utilizing a storage unit, I have to say Evan here at A-1 Self Storage made everything seamless. Before even visiting the location my wife called to get an estimate. I got an email right away from Evan with the costs. We went to this location after work and was accompanied with awesome/friendly service. The location is clean on the outside as it is on the inside. Evan gave us reassurance that rodent control is on premises 2x a month and as needed but facility hasn't had any issues with rodents. When we went to look at our storage unit there was a cleaning crew actively cleaning the place. I've heard of horror stories with Self Storage, but I think I got lucky with this one. Friendly and thorough customer service and a clean facility. #BiWINNING Don't forget to check in for the 3 FREE boxes read more

Overall very satisfied with my rental unit (5x5) it was just enough room to store my items for a couple months while looking for a new apartment. It is a well maintained, and a clean storage ground. I always saw workers tending to different areas, always friendly. My unit was on the 3rd floor in the 800 area, my only negative comment is that the buildings aren't well ventilated, so whenever I went to my unit it felt like a sauna! So be prepared to shed a couple pounds while moving your items! Haha but again an overall good experience with renting from A1 self storage. Rented from April-August 2016 read more

Love this location! Clean quiet and Edson was very accommodating!! I'm glad to have a syorag e rental here!

Easily accessible, friendly, fast, professional, clean facilities and well-managed.

Of all the storage places to choose from in the area, I found this A-1 Self Storage location to have the best customer service, great amenities, convenient hours and was also the most cleanest & well-maintained. They even offer a wide selection of boxes & moving supplies. Gina was a pleasure to work with. She made the entire rental process so quick & easy. She even followed-up shortly after I moved my things in to ensure my move-in went smoothly. Gina is always so friendly, helpful and always has a smile on her face. I often go to my storage space after work and feel totally safe there. I also enjoy the music playing inside the building. I would definitely recommend my friends & family to A-1 because I know that they will be in good hands hands with Gina and all that A-1 Self Storage has to offer. read more
