The last time I can remember this facility being well maintained was when Lorenzo was the manager. Nowadays the facility is somewhat a disappointment. They dont sweep the hallways of the unit anymore as what they used to do. Very evident on the hays and things you will see on the floor/ground. To top it off, they have placed those insect traps in the hallways. Kinda annoying how they are on the way when I'm moving my stuff because I need to make sure I dont step on them. Also, these past two years, they have raised the rent. Well, I don't really mind much because they replaced those old wooden doors with metal roll up gates which is more secured. It stated on their rent memo that the raise in rent is for ensuring the best customer service they can give. Well how about hiring a full time security that will round the facility. You see, homeless people roam around the premises when the office is still/already closed. I am not generalizing all of them, but some of them have no respect and no regards to the other tenant's units. My experiences were: 1. They left their stuff/garbage in front of my unit. 2. They took a dump in the my storage hallway. 3. They parked their bike in my storage hallway for months, and since those gates were pulled down, no one will know not unless one of the tenants on that hallway unit gets to go in their storage. 4. I dont feel safe going there by myself after 6pm or early in the morning. They hide on every corner they could and no telling if they are harmless or mentally unstable. 5. Just last week, as I was about to go to my unit, I forgot something in my car so halfway there I turned back and head to my car. Then when I turned my head back, I saw the homeless person, quickly went in the hallway where my storage was. Luckily, I havent opened my unit door yet. Made me scared because he/she does not have any business going in there.I got scared so I came back in the afternoon instead. If you are a new tenant looking for a space here, check it out first and do a walk around of the premises. I am slowly cleaning out my storage and will wait to see what happens in the future... read more

I have had a unit at this location since November 2020. The staff turn around at this place is ridiculous. They find a way for the customer to incur "fees" and then put it on the customer. I initially had 2 storage units rented out with them, got rid of the smaller unit due to a foul smell. When I have needed to access my unit, on a couple of occasions I have seen rodents on the property. Not to mention the homeless that constantly loiters around the property. We especially encounter them when exiting the gate. Would definitely NOT recommend this establishment!! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AT ANY LOCATION!! They will steal your money with shady business practices. The owners of this location are also extremely unprofessional. I have been a loyal SPS customer for over 6 years. Recently I had my money stolen by the owners of the Chula Vista location. I was set to move out 1 day after my storage cycle ended (09/09/2022). I called the location about a month early to ensure that my payment would be prorated if I overstayed by 1 day. The employee on the line ensured me that as long as there was someone on site I would have no issues moving my items and canceling my membership reiterating that my payment will be prorated. I then proceeded to book a roundtrip flight to San Diego for 09/10/2022 to move my items. My sole intention for this trip was to move my items from my unit as I stated to the employee who assured me there would be no issues. I can provide my full itenerary showing that I flew into San Diego for less than 6 hours just to handle this as advised by the SPS employee. When I asked for my payment to be prorated the owner of the CV location and his wife explained that their agent had not made the proper notes in the system therefore they will not return my money. They stated that since I had already paid for my renewing month that I was in the wrong and that I my payment would not be prorated and that I "should have read the contract" and that since I didnt write down the employee's name that I spoke with they did not believe I even called in the first place. I only booked my flight because they advised me I would be fine to stay an extra day without paying for a whole month. I would have flown down a week earlier if they had told me the truth. I told the employee I was moving out on the 10th and they never put it in the system now the owners are accusing me of lying and basically stole a whole months rent even though my stuff was gone by mid day of the very next cycle day. My Wife only paid early because we always want to ensure that we are in good standing with SPS. The agent never advised that if we paid them early that they would not prorate. In our 6 years with SPS we have never had any complaints or issues but the owners of the CV location stealing my money with shady business practices is completely unprofessional and unfair. We only did as we were advised by the employee and now they are punishing us for doing so. The Corporate office failed to respond to ANY of my emails (I sent once per week for a month) and even the BBB received ZERO RESPONSE. This is the most shady, rude, unprofessional storage facility. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! read more

I'll start with the cons because they outweigh the pros: 1. They decided to redo the flooring so they raised the rent. 2. There are no lights in the units only the hallways. 3. Most importantly--- I paid for the month and ended up moving out exactly two weeks into the month and they DO NOT give you a refund for the time not utilized. I think that is bogus and fraud. No it was not explicitly or even remotely explained that you have to give notice in advance to get money back. I did the same thing at my last storage unit and I got the balance back. Nor was that even explained to me when I signed the paper saying I was leaving. It was just sign here. That's it. I went back and asked was there anything else and had to ask if I was getting a refund. They can say what they want, but they in no way shape or form explained that I would not get my money back. Pros: 1. My unit was not properly locked once so they did call and inform me. That's about it. read more

If you ever feel like you just wanna go somewhere nearby and get stuck and potentially die, this is just the ticket. It's really simple. All you have to do is meet someone there to buy stuff from their storage unit, then let that other person leave while you're packing you car. You'll arrive at the exit and expect the gate to open to let you out. Alas, it will not. Because you don't know the f*cking gate code and some jack*ss decided knowledge of a gate code is necessary to EXIT an establishment. If only emergency exits worked this way.... read more
