To whom it may concern, Let me start from the get-go! I rented a 10X10 from this place a few months back I was told My rate would go up a little maybe a couple of times in a year then it 'wouldn't go up from there, well that wasn't true it's gone up 3 times in less than a year. That wasn't the problem with me the problem was when I got a random call on a Saturday morning from Cesi an employee. Let me tell you exactly what happened grab some popcorn cause this is good. So Cesi called me and asked 'Hi Is this Jonathan I say Yes hi, she said have you been to your unit lately? I say no it's been a while at least maybe a couple of months She says ok because the unit is 'open I say what? She said yes! It wasn't you? I say no! She says well it's open and it looks like there's a red machine outside of it is that yours? I say yes that's my welder she says ok well it looks like it's been broken into. I say what! she says yes. I need to know if I can have your permission to drill the lock. I say what? She says yes I need your permission to drill the lock and fix the door, right now I'll send you an e-mail and you can electronically sign it, so we can drill the lock I say Ok, not thinking right at that moment. Then I asked hey wait a minute what if I'm missing stuff what did they take anything? can you check the cameras her response was oooh nooo that's going to take HOURS! What! She says yes oh and you have to make a police report. At this point in My mind, I'm like hhm.. you know what let me come over I'm only 30 minutes away. She says ok, and hangs up on me. I was like no way! So I called my girlfriend briefly explained what was going on and asked her to meet me there with the key. We show up and I say Hi are you Cesi? She says yes, Hi I say I'm Jonathan she says Oh yeah what did you have in there because the system says you only have toats in there? I say yes the toats have stuff in them. She says O well it says you only have toats in there. I say can we go to the unit she says yeah! We get there and the bottom right of the door is completely ripped out of its track making a small crawl hole at this point I look right at Cesi and Ask ' Do customers normally do this? She says what? I said break the door like this, Why would you ask me if it was me that did this? She said no I didn't ask you that I said yes you did then I said why wouldn't you ask me to file a police report? She said let me get my coworker who I don't even know his name he came over and said what's the problem I said nothing I'm trying to figure out what I need to do. He said it's a process you have to file a police report I said ok why wouldn't you guys tell me this from the beginning, he said it's up to you I said you mean to tell me that I have to make the police report and you don't? He says we already called the cops and made a police report, Now YOU HAVE TO MAKE A POLICE REPORT! I say that's gonna take hours it's Saturday this isn't an emergency he says well what do you want me to do? I say nothing man he says screaming at me LISTEN TO ME YOU FENING AHOLE I WORK AT NATIONAL CITY IT HAPPENS ALL TIME OUT THERE I'M TELLING YOU THE PROCESS. I say oh so you're used to this then he gets even more mad gets inches from my face and says screaming off the top of his lungs LISTEN! I look right into his eyes and say 'I'M LISTENING . Again Screaming at ME YOU DON'T COME HERE AND CAUSE A SEEN YOU DONT UNDERSTANT I EFFING HATE! THIS JOB!! At this point, my girlfriend gets in between us and says hey calm down. He says you need to figure out if you're missing any shit! And figure out what you're gonna do with your shit! I say REALLY! At this point, I tell my girlfriend Let go! We're leaving the whole way out this guy is Screaming! at the top of his lungs saying how he hates this job! And I needed to be careful. So we leave and from a block away I call the police, Dispatch asks me what happened I tell her all that's going on then I say ' They said they already made a police report and now I have to make one she says ok whats the storage aging I tell he its the Extra Space Storage 3085 Del Sol Blvd, San Diego, CA 92154 she says and they said that already made the bake in the report I said that what they told me. She says no there's no report of any break-ins from that place at all for today hmm. I say I'm sorry that's what they told me. She says ok we'll get an Officer out to you asap! I kid you not all I did was drive back to the storage a block away and the officer was already pulling up! WOW! 2 minutes they were there. I told the office what was going on we went in there and the door was already fixed with a new lock my girlfriend had unlocked it when we left so they were able to fix it and set a new lock in the time we were gone. the officer asked me if anything was missing I said I don't know I haven't checked he says ok I'm gonna give you an incident number and if you later find missing stuff call us. a week later I get another increase! They give you a very good deal just to get you into the unit but after 6 months and every approx 6 month they keep increasing the rent for around $100 each time. I will not recommended at all. Units are ok. I think this is a very dishonest practice. read more

We used this storage location while our home was under construction and remodeled. We thought we'd only use the unit for 6 months but ended up there for 15 months. The only issue was the price doubled, but with the cost of space in SD it's to be expected. Erica was great at move-in and move-out. She has a tough job dealing with all the messes left by people, so inconsiderate. Even with all she deals with, she is helpful, friendly, and goes above and beyond to care for her customers. We appreciate you. We felt our stuff was safe and free of rodents. There were no droppings or issues with the boxes we've unpacked since moving back home. We had a great location, and it was always clean when we went in to grab something we couldn't live without or put something we bought. I've moved my belongings out of this facility. I wouldn't recommend to get the option with AC as it rarely ever feels cool whenever I would visit this place. They raised prices without a warning halfway through the lease. Go across the street and get a better offer there. I'll update if I find any dropping around my boxes and bags from my unit from rodents I saw at facility. read more

Amazing customer service! Erica was awesome in helping me decide what size unit works best for me. She has a "can do" attitude, she is patient, and very friendly! I had many questions and she took the time to answer all of them. They do have military discounts, but only for active duty. Erica walked me to my unit and showed me how to use the lock, showed me the 2 entrances, and also where the restroom was located. The restroom was clean and stocked! This place is clean! I feel great about renting here and I will definitely recommend this location! A little tidbit of drama: There is a storage facility a block away from my house (Life Storage), I went in and was directed to look online for pricing info. I didn't feel welcomed, but I shared that with Erica and she said maybe they were busy with an auction. They are friendly, but I had many questions! read more

I am at a loss for words to describe how wonderful my experience was at ExtraSpace storage in getting a storage unit. I first went to the location near the 24th Street trolley stop, and because I'm handicapped he referred me to their site near the Iris trolley station because they have an elevator I could use to access my unit. The customer service attitude at both sites was second to none. I selected a unit at the Iris location which was far cheaper than I thought it would be and exactly what I needed. Erica, the office manager at that location, walked me through all my options and help me select the unit that best met my needs. The whole process went quickly, smoothly and easily in every respect. The minute you step on that property the first thing you notice is the high degree of safety and security offered by that site and more importantly, how clean the entire site is. Erica deserves to be commended very highly for running a very tight ship because it was in excellent condition. The numbering system were a little confusing at times and trying to find my unit, but when I did, I was amazed at the condition of my particular unit as well as the surrounding areas in how well-maintained they are. I have no concerns whatsoever about the security of my items in storage and know that anytime I need to access that storage I'm going to be stepping onto a well maintained site! My experience was unbelievable! I was ready to pull teeth, but when the whole process was done, I was smiling from ear to ear, thanks to Erica and a very professional staff! read more

At first I was excited for this storage to be near a convenient location but today's experience was a little different. I admit that I should not park in the parking lot. And as a prior customer I am not entitled to park in the parking lot. But I am aware of what a good customer experiences is. And that was not the case today. I decided to park in their parking lot for a very fast pick up. The employee comes out asked me to move. After exchanging words I explained that our words are taking longer than me doing what I have to do. I also mentioned that I was going to write a bad review and he said OK. So here's my bad review I wouldn't recommend this place they only want your money when it's there to be taken and they wouldn't offer you a parking spot even if it's under two minutes. Don't spend your money here take it where it's more appreciated. read more

VETERANS/ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY I am a disabled veteran and called to reserve a 10 by 20 unit for my house when I was moving. They reserve it say nothing about how they plan to give it to someone else the next day and gave me a confirmation number garunteeing my reservation. The day before move I call to add just a second small 10 by 10 and they are like o yeah we also gave your reserved unit away. There was no call there was no email or anything saying hey sorry we decided to not honor your reservation. I told them hey I'm a disabled vet and I was relying on this for my move they told me yeah to bad. They don't care about service members and are very rude. After I was left high amd dry they tell me we can get you 5 storage units if you want I was like I'm disabled why would I want to have to haul items to 5 locations I can do that. They called me the day after my reservation to then tell me.hey sorry we gave your unit away. Super unprofessional very poor business. I call a1 down the street and they took care of me very well. I hope this helps all service members make there decision. Look elsewhere they are not worth the trouble. read more

Very bad management, had a rude and disrespectful on site manager threaten me when i was there to move my trailer claiming i was "doing repairs" on my trialer and that it was against policy. Called regional to file a complaint and there answer was "hes one of our top managers he would never do anything like that" On top of that they reel you in with shady promotions only to increase your rate every three months with no cap. Well I haven't even had the unit a year and just received a postcard with my 2nd rate increase - it's now gone up over 30% from the initial rate! When I was deciding where to store I specifically asked Ruth what were the rate increases normally - I was told "Well it is month to month but I haven't seen any rate increases for 2 years" - LIARS read more

This place has very friendly customer service and knowable and great price for storage units, Jerry is always on top of what I actually need; extra boxes, tape storage supplies in general. I appreciate how he keeps the facility clean. I see know sign of pests. Love that! I tried all day to rent a space at this location I called the new customer line and then went to this location. They were not open the signs said they were I went back many times and nobody was ever there. If this is the way they treat their new customer I am glad I did not rent. I called national number and was provided Gerardo's phone number he did not answer and has not returned my call. I am now stuck paying for a rental truck until Monday as other locations will not be open on Sunday. This place will go out of business if they keep this kind of service. read more

Reserved online i arrive and everything was fast and easy i love how I have access to my things until 10pm which is awesome, cameras everywhere, bathrooms clean, although I do dislike their dolly's carts whatever theyre called only 2 wheels move and the rest is stiff if all 4 wheels moved i know it would be just as hard they just need to switch the front vs the back wheels to have better control when moving it around read more
