When I had to move suddenly last year, I first looked to Econo Mini Storage but I learned that Econo were quite a bit more expensive than the mkt, but I'd forgotten that their attitude towards customer service/satisfaction s u u u u u u u u c k e d! I didn't pick Econo when I was renting my space the first time partly because of their limited access hours, so imagine my surprise to find Econo Mini Storage right at the top of the list!** All I could remember about this place was very limited accessibility, and that the man I spoke to back then actually demanded to know why I would possibly need to access my things after 3:00 p.m. on a weekend when I inquired why the doors were locked so early. I do keep later hours than most people for reasons that are no one else's business because I'm a grown-up! But even by Seattle standards, 3pm is pretty early to assume everyone is done for the day. So I called today and asked if they are 24 hours. They had extra boxes and tape to assist and didn't charge us extra for that. They did a fabulous job ensuring our items were not harmed and moved gently. Debby, Bruce and the rest of the team are very easy to communicate with and are keen to help meet all your needs. I initially rented a single 5x10 storage and wanted to upgrade to a 10x10 (which wasn't available at the time), so instead they offered me a second 5x10 at a discounted rate. Their units are clean, well lit and have easy access. The facility felt safe and I didn't run into any issues at all. Hours of operation and pricing is fair and affordable. The only downside (if you will call it that) is that you are not allowed to drop off a moving "pod" in the parking lot or in front of the storage unit to unload directly into the storage unit. This is primarily due to the pods often being left there for a day or more before being picked up again. It was an inconvenience as I had to rent a truck to move the contents of the pod into the unit, but I understand their reasoning behind disallowing it. Also, I felt prudent to comment on another review left by someone else complaining about being charged for another month after vacating their unit. The forms we signed with this business clearly state how to move-out of your unit and cancel the service. I had no issues following these instructions and was not charged for a second month.

We were able to add our boat to our monthly recurring auto pay. What really distinguishes this organization from others that simply provide storage, is the family feel. Debbie always has a smile, but when I used the restroom to change for a cross country practice I was coaching the other day, I took a bunch of cash out of my pocket and left it on the bathroom counter. Debbie found it and tracked me down. She knew I had left it there before even I did. There are currently 120sq ft units listed at $156/month. If you are 6 days late, you face a fee of $44. If you are 30 days late, they begin the auction process in which case you have to pay a $200 fee. They are more interested in getting you in cheap, raising your rate quick and forcing evictions for quick turn around. As the manager told me, "Storage isn't meant to be a long term thing, you're only supposed to be here for a few months. We have people with the same size unit as you that have been here for years that are paying $400-500".

Frequent rent increases made it very unaffordable, I moved out of the storage unit, but kept the mailbox. Recently, I got an email saying I was being EVICTED from the mailbox. After several phone calls, I got an answer "that USPS has decided that SecureSpace nolonger qualifies to be a mailbox service". I called USPS, they said they did not disqualify SecureSpace. So, was i lied to? Major inconvenience to get a new mailing address. 12 years of being a customer, and I get corporate b.s. After being "evicted", I still got a bill for the following month! My experience since SecureSpace has been very poor, bad communication and lies. Very unprofessional and unorganized.
