I have been perpetually moving since Thanksgiving; moving kids back form college, into dorms, moving out myself, moving into a new house, just finished moving my oldest son closer to work to cut his commute in 1/2. We've rented multiple units there over the last 4yrs. The site is clean, safe, well lite, easily accessible. Great discounts and easy pay options. Customer service training and E.I. coaching is desperately needed. From being verbally attacked by Jeremy while he was blowing leaves on Saturday to the lack of leadership by the office manager who witnessed and allowed Jeremy to interrupt a conversation between herself and my 53 year old family member, I ask Silverdale Self Storage, is this the best you can do? At the very least, teach basic communication skills to your staff in a world where customer service no longer exists. Helping my elderly aunt move her things into this storage facility was one of the worst experiences my family has had. Giving someone the title manager should come with de-escalation training for your ermployee(s) versus allowing him to act aggressively towards anyone, let along 2 females over the age of 50. Professionalism needs to make a comeback, along with human decency. read more

I've been renting a unit here since January of 2024 after I had to find somewhere to store my entire house after a nasty break up, and this storage facility has been nothing but the BEST. First, the location is convenient- they have multiple carts (like the flat beds at Home Depot!) that are well maintained & extremely helpful. There's security cameras EVERYWHERE, it is extremely secure and safe, even after office hours. The staff is absolutely amazing and completely carries the facility's reputation. Amanda specifically is an extremely knowledgeable, kind, caring and passionate individual. She has helped me on numerous occasions, always goes the extra mile to make sure I'm on time for my payments, have everything I need & that I'm satisfied, is super patient and respectful, and management and higher ups should be aware of what an amazing employee they have on their team. People like Amanda, are very hard to find- especially in this generation. We often see the bad, focus on the bad and speak the bad, but Amanda is nothing but the upmost down to earth human being I've met, you feel literal sunshine in the office when she's there and she deserves the recognition. HUGE shoutout to her! The prices are so affordable that it's unspeakable, they have sales all the time for new renters & have raffles for renters who pay their storage rent. Also, when you do sign to rent with them- they give you the cutest coffee cup filled with goodies. They even give you a lock with two keys when you rent, for FREE. Lockouts are $50, which is affordable considering it's usually in the hundreds for locksmiths to cut it for you which is super nice. Would give 0 stars if I could. The place is teeming with rats. When we asked if there is anything they could do to reimburse us they claimed that is the reason we have insurance. Well insurance doesn't cover damage under our deductible so all they could say was sorry apparently. If I had food in the unit I would understand but there was none in the unit. Stay away from this place because it's clear they don't care about their customers. Update: Management refunded a partial amount below my insurance deductible. We still had more expenses but at least it was something. read more

The manager here is not in the least bit interested in customer service. In her defense, she has had to put up with late payments from me due to difficult family circumstances and other chaos, but the response to this has been utterly inflexible and lacking in any grace. I recently drove up as the manager was leaving so I could pay my late bill, have the lock removed, and remove some contents. She was going on her lunch break at 1:30 not to be back until 3:30. I asked her to help me because I was in town only for a couple of hours with a borrowed truck that I had to return outside of her imposed time schedule. In essence she told me "too bad, you should have let me know you were coming." She stormed off and drove away. WTF? Who runs a business like this? I seem to run into to this petty, small-mindedness pretty frequently in Kitsap, though there are shining examples of good customer service here too. When dealing with this business, you will experience no customer service, a complete lack of solution orientation when problems arise, and a generally snippy attitude if things don't go exactly right. Oh, and they don't take cash. But they are apparently just fine with the risks of taking personal checks. Sheeshhh! When looking for storage solutions, spend some extra time looking for another likely better business. Even if another storage biz is only 5% better than this one, you will come out golden. This place is an embarrassment, but unfortunately will go on making plenty of money in spite of their shoddy approach with customers. read more

I give 4 stars because of Michael the grounds maintenance guy. He was so helpful and keeps everything so clean which is extremely important. I've been to other storage facilities and not very clean. It would be 5 stars but have had issues with unfriendly office people. Prices could be better for retired/active military. read more

Although I was not able to rent an RV space, I found the manager to be extremely helpful.Even though they did not have any RV parking, the lady (Wendy) working there got online and found a spot for me at another facility close by. I really appreciated that she went above and beyond. You don't see that level of customer service too often. read more

I rented a unit for my daughter who lives in the area 10 days ago, I called to cancel today because she no longer needed it, mind you she is within her 10 days to cancel. The girl told me that they would not refund my money for a unit that we did not even. I then asked for their corporate number the girl asked me to hold on while she gets it and then Kevin came on the line and told me that he is corporate and he is there training I asked for the corporate office number and he told me to "look for it" and " You live in Virginia, what can you do" Very poor customer service, I would never recommend anyone placing there home goods or anything in this unit! I will be contacting the BBB and reporting them as well. read more

The lady seems nice at first but is super talkative. We went in after reserving a unit and only needed it for a month. She charged us for 2 months, whatever. Then as she was swiping the card, she said her system had been not working all day. As she said that the card wouldn't go through. She made us call navy fed saying over and over it wasn't her system it was the cards fault. Called navy fed and said no transaction had even been attempted. So then she demanded that we go get money order, and was rude about it. At that moment we decided to go with someone else, and I took the paper with our info on it as there's no reason for her to have all our contact information if we aren't going with her. She demanded I hand it over, as I said no she started to get up out of her chair, so I said fine, and ripped the paper up so it wouldn't be usable and then we left. We found a much nicer facility right down the road, where our card worked and the lady didn't go crazy. read more

Under new management. Silverdale Self Storage sent out billing e-mails at the beginning of the month stating payments were due, and that a late fee would be added to the amount due if the bill was not paid by the 10th of the month (as they had always done over the last several months). Silverdale Self Storage then sent out another e-mail on the 6th of the month stating that the monthly payment was overdue and a late fee has been added to bill! Yikes. When I called the manager to ask if this was an error, she stated that the owners had the express right to change the lease terms and contract. She also said that the system that sends out the e-mails had not been updated yet (by Silverdale Self Storage), which was why the e-mails went out telling customers they had until the 10th to pay before getting assessed a late fee. The manager then went on to say that Silverdale Self Storage management did not have to honor the terms regarding the monthly payment due dates that were contained in the e-mail they sent out at the beginning of the month since "the system had not been update" (by them). The manager said that they called most of their customers to inform them of the changes (apparently I was one of the "few" that got missed). The manager eventually agreed to drop the late fee, but because of other new changes to how the new management is doing business I just paid the bill and am now looking for a self storage business with more ethical business practices. read more
