Honestly couldn't be happier with this place!! Getting set up was super easy and the discount on first few months rent helped save a few bucks. I shopped around for storage units pretty extensively and this was the best deal I found in the Seattle area - including insurance it comes out to $68 per month for my 8x10 (other places are more expensive at a base cost, and often only have one or 2 months discounted rent). Move in was easy, I was able to drive up and park right next to the door and borrow their carts, use the freight elevator and load up the unit quickly. The place is not shiny or fancy by any means, but they have excellent safety measures and inside the building is clean and dry (no weird smells). Best yet, the folks who work here are completely delightful, easy to reach by phone, and so kind and helpful! read more

Gosh, no complaints on our set up and move in experience. The person at the front desk was efficient, courteous, professional. We were patiently shown a couple of different units we would consider. We were guided through procedures for getting in and getting out and clearly explained if we paid in advance to get a price break there would be no refunds (seems fair to me). I found 145th Aurora Storage through Yelp. I was looking for a place to store my 1 bedroom apartment for 6 months to a year. It was a last minute move and I was very flustered. After reading terrible reviews on a few other Aurora centered storage places, I was skeptical, so i decided to call. I AM SO GLAD I DID. The moment that Mary Ellen picked up the phone she made me feel welcome. I asked a few questions regarding pricing, location, and safety. She was very reassuring and invited me to come in to tour. Upon arrival she asked me a few questions about what I was storing to help me figure out how small I could go (budget was crucial for me) She radio'd Spike to come and show us around and again I was greeted kindly and lead around the building. It is more than you could hope for. It's clean, bright, spacious, and easy to navigate. I swear it even smells like potpourri! The first unit was a bit tight for my needs, but Spike was quick to find me one still in my budget and patient with me as I went back and forth on if I could fit in the smaller one or not. Back at the office, I was so flustered I could barely remember my name(actually stopped in the middle of my signature because I couldn't remember what I was doing) Mary Ellen calmly walked me through it and reassured me that it was all going to work out. I utilized the yelp deal with no issue and was given my keys and copies of all my paperwork in a handy dandy folder. I've been back and forth a few times now and I always feel that my stuff and myself are safe, even in the later hours. Spike even stopped us one time and helped check the lights on our vehicle because he noticed we had a tail light out ^_^ I can't recommend this place enough. I walked in needing help finding a storage unit for a last minute move and Spike immediately came to my rescue with a tour and demonstrated how to properly use the lock since I had no idea what I was doing. Scammers. These people have scammed me for the past 3 months. I checked out in November and they never quit billing me. Its still going up.. I have to contact my attorney and the bbb and figure out what to do. And they dont reply to any emails. Also they had a BUG INFESTATION. I've removed one star from my review because this storage facility now is requiring tenants to show proof of insurance (or they must purchase insurance from a third-party company which 145th Aurora Storage is using). As someone who is living abroad -- which is why I have the unit in the first place, it is nearly impossible for me to find a company which will supply me with renter's insurance at a reasonable price. Additionally, at this point the value of the stuff in my storage unit has depreciated so much that it doesn't need to be insured -- nor is it a danger to other units (I'm not storing explosive materials, stuff which would leak, etc.). After going for a few years uninsured, I disagree with their decision to force me to spend an extra $9 per month ($108 per year!) on insurance. read more

If you want to find out how your experience renting a storage can be any worse than Public Storage, try 145 Aurora Storage in Shoreline, WA. The first interactions were somewhat good. Impressed by the reviews, I expected nothing but a good experience. Boy, was I wrong. Here is the staff I had interactions with : Mary Ellen and Spike. A faceless manager called Eric seemed to encourage the rudeness and lack of care of its staff. Here is in a nutshell , the chronological story of what happened. On 4/15/15 - I got to the storage ( I've rented online on 04/10/15) to pay whatever taxes and fees I had to pay and get access to my rented unit. Did so, picked up my unit keys and proceeded to get a friend who helped me with the move , get the truck and get all the stuff I wanted to put in storage. Did so. All good. We get to the storage, looking forward to having the move done. Enter the code followed by *. Nothing. Long story short, the code didn't work. Neither first time or the 50th time. There is no emergency number or after hours on call staff. So we did call and left.messages, but they were listened to in the morning. We ended up having to go and unload my stuff where I live now. And where the space is very limited. So I put everything wherever I could, with solemn promises to my landlord that I will move everything today. After work. This morning, the nice lady working the front desk called me. She told me, after listening for 2 minutes, that her boss used the code in the morning and it works. And that it doesn't show on the entry gate log that we entered the code at all. So. By tone and words, she said I'm either a stupid who doesn't understand how to use a keypad or that I'm a liar who never was there to entered the code at all. Yup. At this point, I disengaged and told her I don't want to talk with her any longer and that I wish to talk with the manager. When I repeatedly asked for the logs at the entry front gate, suddenly the story changed. You can see clearly my code entered and being labeled as the wrong code. No apologies followed. Official version of the incident was " glitch in the computer". I have copies of the logs and recorded conversations with the staff handling the whole incident. All the interactions with staff were totally unprofessional. If I could , I would add the audio clip with few highlights of that lovely conversation. I was told I will have the manager call me in the morning, and schedule a time when we can sit down and talk and get to a solution to solve the entire incident. Needless to say, nobody followed up with any response. The issue of the cost of moving- truck and gas- was brushed off. the whole incident ended up costing me money, because I never got the money back or at least an explanation or willingness to be of service. SO. IF YOU WANT TO SEE HOW UNPROFESSIONAL LOOKS LIKE AT A LOWER LEVEL THAN PUBLIC STORAGE - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THEM. So they charged me last month for renters insurance without sending me prior notice about the change, because the post office did not give them notice of my address change, then refused to give me a refund on it when I sent them evidence of my insurance. Cheap people are so tight with their money that they could care less about their customers stating its the law that I am responsible for telling my address change. In this day in age there is such a thing as the phone and email to also contact people, why couldn't they use those? They are rude and uncaring people. They also only offer deals to new renters instead of their long time clients, so there is no benefit to being a long time client read more

This place is awesome. Really convenient access and they let you use their truck when you move in. Staff is really great and they do an awesome job keeping the place clean, secure and you feel like your stuff is safe. Even has somewhat of a family vibe to it when you show up. They're always interested in talking and hearing from their customers. Would recommend this place to anyone! read more
