I came to this U-Haul at 6:45 PM to return my truck that I got earlier in the morning date 7/07/25 there was three guys two of them with curly hair and another guy with a blonde hair we asked for help they didn't try to help us they were basically kicking us out and trying to get us to return the truck through the app and it's my first time here. I don't really know much about U-Haul. I would be lovely if you guys hire some people that respectful responsible and do the job as they should. read more

Pros: They let me make a couple last minute changes to the reservation for the uhaul, which was available at the agreed upon time. Cons: When the movers I hired through the website didn't show up and I had to call and ask where to go from there, the cashier was so. Incredibly. RUDE. I may have been a little frantic on the phone, but I was still polite. This guy however had the audacity to yell "I KNOW THAT." At me when I tried to clarify a detail. By the way, if you hire movers from the website and they don't show up or answer your calls, you have to apparently get the refund from said movers. U-Haul will not help you at all. Hedgy the Hedgehog and I both love this place. It's a keeper. I came here with my parents and Hedgy on the 8th of November 2019 to ask about how renting a U-Haul works when driving from one state to another (I was moving from California back to Washington State). The workers were very friendly and encouraging in helping us figure out the details of the rental. They also let us open up the back of the different truck sizes we were thinking about and take a look around. We were debating between the 10 foot and 15 foot truck and getting to see them in person and get in them and walk around made a huge difference in deciding which to go with (we ended up going with the 15 foot truck). This allowed us to book our rental in advance and gave us peace of mind that we had chosen the right size and wouldn't realize halfway through packing that the truck was too small. We were also able to return the truck here at U-Haul Storage of North Seattle earlier than our set return as moving went faster than anticipated. All around great experience. read more

The truck was not even inspected - I was told to turn the key over to a kid then charged for gas despite having just filled the tank. Total scam operation . They did the same thing to my son. If I could give negative stars I would. MY RESERVATION DISAPPEARED BUT CHARGES ARE STILL PENDING ON MY CREDIT CARD. DON'T USE THIS LOCATION! FIND A FRIEND WITH A TRUCK OR USE A DIFFERENT BUSINESS BUT DON'T GO HERE. I went in person to the store on Tuesday to make a reservation for Saturday hoping that this would make it a smooth transaction and move, no hiccups like the one I'm about to describe. My driver arrived Saturday and despite the lot being jam-packed full of trucks, was told he had to pick one up at another location. (I was told on Tuesday if a truck was not available I would get a call on Friday to make arrangements for pickup at another location. That never happened.) He was then sent to two different locations, The first of which told him he was in the wrong place, the second place couldn't even find the reservation. (NOTE: now my confirmed reservation # does not exist--see photo 1 and there is still a pending charge on my credit card) By now over 2 hours has been spent driving around to get the runaround. My driver calls to inform me of the problem, so I call the location myself to ask WTF? The guy knew exactly what I was talking about, but couldn't help me cuz he was 'with a customer'. I was likey quite rude and refused to be put on hold by stating that I was a customer BEFORE his current one & I wanted to know why I didn't get a call the day prior regarding supposed truck unavailability & why out of all the damn trucks on their lot not one was reserved & ready in my name despite having made & confirmed my reservation 5 days earlier!!???!???. He said he didn't know & the manager wasn't in today, and there was nothing that they could do at the moment so he'd have to put me on hold and someone might be able to help me in a few minutes. I was put on hold, waited, 5 minutes....I knew no one was going to pick my call back up.... I called back and was hung up on, despite being told on the third call that no one hung up on me. During the third call I asked to leave A message for manager Nick, apparently he's the one on the outgoing message. And I kid you not, I was asked how I wanted to leave a message. So the smart-ass in me replied "typically you write down my name and number on a piece of paper and you give it to your manager when he comes in"....and that I didn't appreciate being hung up on when I called the second time, to which I was told it didn't happen.... because of the way the phone is....whatever. I was then told Manager Nick was not in today, I said I already knew that, That's why I want to leave a message. Then I was offered the Manager's number which I pointed out is the store number I was already speaking with, & was again informed that Nick wasn't in today. then I was told I could leave a voice message. Our original reservation for a moving truck at a different location was cancelled last minute. So we were redirected to this location. Apparently a lot of uhaul trucks have been getting stolen! When we got to U-haul, there was a line out the door due to other folks experiencing the same issue as us. It sucks that we had to wait in line for 30-40 minutes on top of driving to a further location than we intended to. There were a lot of angry customers but regardless of how rude some were to the employees, they stayed cool, calm, and collected. Antoine, the gentleman who helped us out gave the utmost customer service. I would give this place 5 stars for the customer service itself but unfortunately u-haul needs to get it together with their booking. read more

I've been to this location several times. Once for renting a truck and multiple times for supplies. The staff has been helpful and they've always had what I needed. There can be a bit of a wait at busy times - but the employees stay steady and take care of everyone. I was treated unbelievably rude and they did not have the equipment that I had reserved. I Signed up to do self -check in and then had to stand in line for 20 minutes to get the key. I then discovered that the dolly that I had reserved was not in the truck. I went into the shop next to the main store area and asked about my dolly. An employee named Devante simply said 'We ain't got none.' I went in and and stood in line another 15 minutes and was told that they would refund the seven dollars that I already already paid when I returned the truck. The seven dollars was never returned and it's been over four months now. Hell, I didn't even want to seven dollars I just wanted the equipment that I had reserved. When I returned the truck I was going to buy a nice woman who said that she would make sure that I got credit for the seven dollars. She was the only staff member worth a damn. Though I still didn't get the seven dollars. Also it was terribly inconvenient not to have the equipment that I had RESERVED because I ended up spending much more time and energy. There are plenty of other options for rental places like this nearby - Don't go here. I wasn't even going to bother doing a review but then I remembered that my son had reserved a car dolly at the same location several years ago and when we arrived they said the reservation was at the Lynnwood location even though he had an email on his phone showing that it was for this location. I pointed out that they had a reservation guarantee at that time for I think either $50 or $75 and the employee said I would have to talk to the manager. We went to the Lynnwood location but by the time we were able to get checked out it was too late in the day because traffic was going to be too bad so we ended up having to take another day off from work because of their incompetence. I called the manager several times and never got a reply and finally gave up. Never again U-haul. read more

This place is very consistent. They are consistent at giving bad customer service. Being disorganized, and they can add rude to customers as well. Typically when you go in, there seems to be nobody who knows how to do anything, all inexperienced people. Today I called to rent a trailer, the person working the phone was rude. She asked me how much my vehicle could tow, I told that I didn't know the exact number, but that it was the largest SUV made, and that it could tow a 30' sail boat, no problem. She basically insisted that I give her a #, I told her she could choose. She then got snippy and told me, "It's a simple question Sir, just give me a number" This is probably why she works for a company like U-haul, it's too bad that they can't hide in back somewhere, and keep her out of customer service. read more

First time getting a U-Haul. I needed something big enough to move some things as I'm moving from one house to another over an hour away. I requested the van, as I've never driven a box truck so don't feel comfortable doing so, a van was enough space to do what I needed. They never disclosed to me however that a van cannot possibly be dropped off in the city I was moving to. Unprofessional service. They charged me for one more day for truck, and auto transport, and 2coverages (around 160 dollars more!!!). I was calling to support next day after reservation they promised me to refund 109$ what is less than they must. I asked them to send a confirmation, they told I just should wait for 3-4 days for a refund. I was waiting 1 week, but of course nothing. I called again to customer service in 1 week, firstly Rebecca from customer service hang up on me, I called again she told they will refund $125, I asked why 125 if it should be approximately $160, Rebecca went to discuss with manager and said there is no problem with charge, they are right, so no refund. When I asked to talk with a manager she told me they will call me back from Shoreline. Manager of Shoreline store called( I missed her phone) and I saw refund receipt of $80. Of course I called back and started to ask why just 80. She was angry, impolite. Finally after all our conversation she refunded me $145, what is also wrong. I paid $416.87, but should pay (109 truck+ 50.7miles(130milesx0.39)+54.95auto transport + 18(2 coverages)=232.65+taxes ~$257 So 416.87-257~$160. Anyway they refunded just $145. I guess $15 it will be enough for manager and she will not cheat another customers!!! read more

I had a bad experience with uhaul Ballard. The employee who initially rented me the cargo van made a point of asking me to get it back by 3 because of a customer that came after. After signing the papers I took a video of the vehicle and a picture of the dashboard. At this time I didn't know that he had listed the starting mileage much lower than it actually was. While I was out, the cargo van battery died. I called roadside assistance, they were very helpful but the maintenance was late so it added an extra hour to my time. I tried calling the store 3 times to inform them of what happened, but it kept going to the central line so I asked someone via the app to let them know. I ended up returning the van around 3:20, which they were fine with. I realized a bit later the mileage discrepancy so I went back to the store to correct it. The employee I worked with, Zebediah Lane, started out by blaming me for not showing the pictures I had taken of the dashboard at the beginning of my trip to someone and that he couldn't do anything about it and I'd have to deal with it the next day. He was very rude with me through this interaction, aggressive and he snapped at me. I still haven't had my issue resolved. read more

As I waited, the person behind the counter, who was the only one that could refill my tank, went and help others after me. I waited patiently for at least an hour. So you need to rent a UHAUL, you would expect to not stand around in the lobby for 10 minutes by yourself before anyone came out to check you on wouldn't you? Would you also expect it to be reasonably cleaned out? Not just me having unfair expectations? Because when I get the truck on E (which they forewarned me about), I rush to the gas station because I'm in a hurry to move and the dash said 2 miles to E. I get to the gas station and put nearly $100 worth of fuel in the tank. Then go to hop back in, when I go to get the door open I look for a second and realize there's a pipe in the drivers seat. Not a pipe of the herbal variety, oh no that would be too reasonable. No it's a pipe for the crystalline/tar variety of mental degradation sitting right behind where I was sitting on the seat. Then I turned on the defroster and the overwhelming smell of cooked heroin brutalized my nostrils. I call the location and all I get is "sorry our guy must have missed it, we just picked that truck up off the side of the road a couple days ago. It was abandoned on E" no attempt at rectifying the situation, just an, oops, my bad. I'm moving, I carry, I own guns. What happens when I get pulled over and charged for paraphernalia or possession with the added little gold star of while in possession of a firearm and go to prison.... Mind you this is all after I was told I could pick up a car trailer and a 20 foot box truck, already got a call and confirmed over the phone, already planned well ahead of time. Then I get a call the day before I pick it up that plans changed, I can only get a 15 foot truck at the biggest anywhere near me unless I want to drive to Anacortes or Bellingham like an hour or more drive away just to pick up a bigger one. Oh and I have to go to marysville to get the trailer, thats cool right? The corporate customer service rep we called was plenty nice, but I have to say I'm more than a little pissed they didn't do anything to help me out after I spent close to 2 hours trying to sort out the situation other than give me a different truck and give me miles to go get the trailer. Oh can't forget the 50 dollar uhal credit for if I ever stoop low enough to use them again after this terrible experience that they're now claiming is my refund for the nearly $100 in fuel I put in the crack pipe truck. Thanks for turning my moving day into a shitshow UHAUL.... Now after having dropped off the truck I have yet to see any refund of my fuel, the customer service rep I called had to re open my claim but said I may have to wait 3 business days for them to hear a reply and if I don't hear anything by next Friday to call them back. Im moving, 100 bucks is a lot of money when you're trying to cobble together a move over 3 hours away over the mountains with a truck that's way too small and unsafe feeling going down the pass with a jeep on the trailer (they said it was rated for it). Not to mention how much the truck pulled itself all over the road like it wanted to change lanes everywhere and that was before it got windy. I had to have a chase vehicle with its 4 ways on the whole way so I could wrestle the van all over the road and Im used to towing very heavy trailers far bigger than the auto transport with trucks bigger than the 15' box van for work. He'll when I dropped off the uhaul I even backed the van and trailer into their row of vehicles neatly and out of the way. I've never felt so upset and disrespected by a company like I have with UHAUL. Go to united rentals or anyone else other than uhaul. Uhaul has treated me like garbage throughout this entire experience. I'm absolutely sickened by this whole experience, what happened to customer service? I don't feel like I'm asking for too much just the fuel I put in the uhaul. Not asking to be comped for the truck or trailer. Just want my gas money back. This is appalling. read more

There were many issues (e.g., were told a couple days before our move that they didn't have a truck for us at the University Way location and that we would have to go to Shoreline; we were also given a 15'' rather than 10'' truck; the truck was extremely dirty and old, etc). However, the biggest issue and dealbreaker was that we were given a moving truck that was damaged/broken resulting in several additional hours to our move and added stress, so we are NEVER going to use U-Haul again and would not recommend using the moving truck services to others. Specifically, the ramp hooks/ramp itself was misshaped causing the ramp to get stuck and very difficult to get out and once it was out, we couldn't get it fully back in and because of this, we could not actually close the moving truck door, could not lock it; we could not travel safely without fear of the ramp coming out or the door flying open; and could not leave the truck. This also occurred during the 91 degree heat wave. We called for assistance and waited 50 minutes, and only got a call back (we were told) because we also submitted details online. After several hours we were told that no one could come to fix the truck and that our only options were to wait until tomorrow or we could try to figure out some other solution ourselves. We secured the door and ramp with twine and drove 20 mph to our destination with one of us following behind in a car to monitor that the door and ramp remained secured to return the truck. This issue added several hours to our move and also left us feeling unsafe. When we arrived back onsite the manager was apologetic and told us they couldn't give a full refund, but at least they only charged us $10. The positives of the experience were that the dispatcher tried to help us out and called us back multiple times to give us updates about if anyone could come fix the truck, and the manager did not charge us the full price. They also didn't charge us for the larger truck and gave us some extra furniture pads. However, the huge downside of having dysfunctional equipment that added several hours to our local move and left us feeling unsafe and our stuff unsecured was much too stressful and this wasn't something that was even on the radar for the standard equipment check process before leaving the site. read more

Sounds like I'm not alone in my feelings of frustration with the way this location runs their "business". I foolishly reserved a cargo van using the "24/7" reservation process, only to be screwed over by U-Haul's delayed system and the clerk who rented the van assigned to me to someone else. I literally told the guy with the keys that the van is reserved/assigned to me. I then made the mistake of calling U-Haul "customer service" only to be put on hold for the hour I waited in the line inside to speak with an ON SITE employee. Once I finally spoke to someone, the CS Rep. answered the phone and told me to "speak with an on-site employee." The female employee looked at me and dismissed the fact that THEY had made a mistake, and "HEY! At least you didn't get charged for the rental! Sorry." Never offered to get me a different vehicle, but even if she had, I was BEYOND the time to move out of my storage using the movers I'd hired to load and unload the Van. Because of U-HAUL'S screw up and SHITTY service and business practice, I have now had to pay for movers I didn't get to use, as well as $225 for a storage unit I didn't have to keep for an additional month. What did I get for U-HAUL screwing me over....$50 reservation "guarantee" credit. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!!!! If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. After I had removed my belongings out of the storage pod and let them know to do so, they never went through the process of closing my rental account. Unprofessional, unfriendly, worse service in my life. Went to get some propane. Took my Kindle since I figured it would take while. Hit the buzzer and waited. Hit the buzzer again, etc, etc. No response for over 25 minutes. Finally got annoyed that they totally ignored me and kept my finger on the buzzer. Blonde lady inside finally waved a finger and indicated she would come out. A while later, a young East Indian man came out. Did not say a word (no hi, sorry about the wait, what would you like) and messed with the tanks for a bit. Then he said he needed to go get his 'box', whatever that is. Waited about 10 minutes and saw him inside talking to a customer. Dumped a bit of garbage from my car as a token of my utmost appreciation and took off. Went to Home Depot and got it immediately. Unprofessional, unfriendly, worthless, etc. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. These people don't care and hopefully will be out of business once Amazon figures out how to fill a tank via the internet. Home Depot may be a bit more but they know how to do their job. read more

On a last minute time-crunch the North Lynnwood U-Haul sent us here Saturday morning because they luckily had the trailer size/type that we needed available. Setup was pretty quick and effortless and pricing was decent. I can't say anything about the trucks because I haven't rented one, but with trailers it's hard to go wrong! A no brainer, but just FYI, you have to purchase insurance which makes the cost rise a bit -- but only by a bit. Because of the scary yelp reviews here about getting ripped off and trucks malfunctioning, I'd probably stray from getting one but I'd definitely rent a trailer for my next move. read more

Had a reservation online, got to Uhaul and into a 30 person+ long line. I asked if others had made online reservations and they had also done so. Totally ridiculous to only have 2 working computers and 2 people to check customers in. A worker has said this is common for weekend days. If a 1.5 hour wait is common wouldn't they think to get a different system or at least a couple more working computers/laptops to check people in on Sat/sun? Next time I need moving services I'll be looking around to find something better because waiting for over an hour when you have a reservation online and arrived 20 mins prior to your appt time is just unacceptable.
