I have a great relationship with one of the most employees that normally works the night shift, and have multiple times stayed after my propane is already filled just to finish our conversation. 4/28 at 1:15 A.M. I arrived and walked to the door to find it locked, walked over to the window and the employee gives me the cut throat gesture. I attempted to explain that I come here ALL THE TIME and it even says online "Our dedicated team is here to fill your propane needs 24/7 ... and we know our stuff. From barbecue tanks to forklift bottles, we get your propane tank re-filled or exchanged and get you on your way." But he decided to ignore me, and continue to make coffee, which makes no sense if the doors are locked and you aren't allowing customers in the store why are you making fresh coffee? Another gentleman came to the door and attempted to open it. He was waved off in the same manor. I would understand if he did not know how to fill the propane, but to not talk to me like a human being and then ignore me is so rude and disrespectful I refuse to come back to this store. Getting my propane tanks filled is my only source of heat. And I have spent hundreds if not thousands getting my tanks filled here regularly. I will take my business elsewhere and drive all the business I can away from this place.

Over the 5-10 minute call, I felt as though he was uninterested in meeting me where I was at, offering me advice, or perhaps he just didn't want to touch my engine. To give him benefit of the doubt, I HAD called near closing time. Also possible that he's overworked... whatever it was, I understand. That was my sole verbal interaction with a representative of this company. Several weeks since then, I've emailed Action Machine Shop with specific questions regarding work I'd like done on my engine and requesting a quote. I have not heard back in 4 business days. By this point I've seen zero interest from Action Machine in taking my money & business. I may not be their ideal client. At this point, between two well-known shops in the Seattle area, I'm happy sitting on the 6-month waiting list for Pacific Auto Machine. Hands down, they've always been the best paint store, and Benjamin Moore the best product, I've ever worked with. Been a fan of Benjamin Moore paint for decades, but I also loved my 'inherited' living room wall color from a different vendor, a brand now owned by a big box outfit. It is the best dark brick red I've ever seen, my furniture pops happily against it, and I'm decisively not interested in changing it. So, here is the story of the color matching/touch up nightmare I went through, only to be rescued by Mallory SODO, even with non-Benjamin Moore painted walls. When it came time for some repair and touch up of the walls due to hanging and rehanging pictures and moving my television, I patched walls and then I spent over a month trying many (maybe 40?) samples attempting to even get close to the original color using the original brand, and color match services from the big box store. All trials failed completely. Worse, the big box store wouldn't even take back the quarts and pints and sample jars, of their own big box product! Biggest lesson from the whole mess - never will buy paint from the big box stores. Feeling defeated, and facing up to the work of picking a whole new color and a whole room paint job instead of just the touch ups intended, I went to my favorite Mallory store to check out my options. First, they took back all the opened paint that had accumulated over the months from the other company because they participate in the take it back program. Second, they matched the color (I cut out a small square from the wall) with only a tweak needed for sheen, since the original paint was somewhere between two of the current products. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and customer focused. And, the person doing color matching has the skills of an artist and designer that one does not see these days. Most rely only on computers, but those of us who work with real paint understand that color in the real world involves so much more. It requires talent and training for that eye. It is worth paying for, I would have paid more. It is worth time, although they turned it around fast this time. And, it is worth me taking the time to try out mixing the two sheens. All painting in your home requires the customer time and investment, color matching is a process that requires working WITH a skilled staffer. The payoff, though is this - I now have the formula and proportions so my living room walls look just perfect and can be maintained with the color I love. Thanks to Mallory. Mallory as a company has always carried what I consider the best product and other Mallory stores, more convenient to various contractors I hired, always have done well for me ordering over the phone. But, I hope the management knows what a gem they have with the SODO store and staff, 'my' Mallory store for I hope many years to come.

He then spent the whole time trying to talk down to me and being anything but helpful. He was so focused on intentionally talking to me in a little pet voice and pointing out that I had "misspoken" on a technical issue instead of just making an effort to help me get the product I need. The funny thing is I called him out on the fact that he was giving me false information. For example, he claimed that the "poly" in polyurethane means "clear" (it is actually short for "polymer") and that I had therefore misspoken by asking for a polyurethane enamel in a certain color. I pointed out to him that there are plenty of polyurethane paints on the market that have colors. He was like "yeah I just mean in Sherwin land." This is also false, look on the Sherwin Williams website for Polane T, a black polyurethane paint! This guy is a complete moron. He should be fired. Like all misogynists, they are idiots who don't know what they are talking about. Frustrated, I said I just wanted them to put the color tint of the numbers and letters I gave them in a polyurethane paint on the shelf and without knowing the details of what I was doing, said it would not work for what I was doing and that paint is only used by "little old ladies" in their houses. I told him to just do it anyway. He went and mixed the paint and the other guy rung me out, not quite such an in-your-face misogynist but totally unfriendly and clearly not on board with the fact that I would dare to call out his coworker. And lo and behold, the paint I bought actually ended up working perfectly.
