Complete robbery here folks. Billing amounts are incredibly high and not consistant. They dont tell you upfront what the monthly charges will be. Definately not affordable for those looking for that. They dont show you the hard copy of the exact amt. of propane delivered. Payments arent reflected on the bills either. This used to be a local company I thought. We called Northwest propane on a Monday and told them we were out of propane, they told us they would be here by Thursday. When we called on Thursday to ask when they would be here, they told us they would not be here till next Tuesday. I called them personally and asked why this was going on. When the person on the phone could not help me, I asked to speak with a manager and they hung up on my face. We live in the mountains. We have been out of propane and have not had heat for four days and now they are telling us we will not have propane for eight days. These people do not care or have any compassion for their customers. Update: I talked to someone from Northwest Propain . The person I talked to on the phone did not want to help us at all.  The person I talked to on the phone cared more about her being right, than some people who live on a mountain and have not had heat for 4 days. The  person I talked to on the phone should have called us on Monday and told us your company would be unable to help us for  another 9 days, instead of wait for us to call on the day we were told we would get propane. The person I talked to on the phone had zero compassion, or understanding. We called another company and explained our situation and they are bringing us propane first thing in the morning. You know why? Because they care. We have cancelled our account with you and will no longer be doing buisness with you because you were willing to let us freeze to death on the mountain because you have no compassion or understanding for your costumers, who by the way are human beings. read more

We have been loyal customers of this company for over 10 years. We have had several challenges but have never had any issues with filling the propane tank before today. Our weather is projected to have high winds and below normal temperatures so I called to have our tank filled. The store manager, Steve, told me that I should run the tank low and then call him. Historically we have always kept the tank over 50%. I pointed out that the propane is our primary source of heat and electricity during power outages so I would like to have the tank filled due to the extraordinary medical needs in our home. Especially with the number of trees that fall in our area. Steve told me that it was not worth his time and to not call him until we were at or below the lower level of 40%. I was unfamiliar with this policy and asked for the reason behind the low level requirement, Steve literally said we were not worth his time even if he was in the area filling other tanks (for example, the home next door.) if you are filling five tanks with 200 gallons each or two tanks with 500 gallons, you are still filling and billing customers. Especially if your driver is reportedly in the area on a near daily basis. When I asked when this "new" policy regarding refill levels had been instituted, he said he was done talking with me and hung up. So glad that there are so many customers wanting to use your company that your customer service is not a priority for you. read more

I've been with this company for several years. I've had nothing but problems with them. From the owner to the front office. It seems as though they get paid and you are then nothing to them. They continually laugh and tell you things like, oh there's no one here at the time, or the person you need to talk to has left for the week. It is rather annoying. I don't pay them from my hard earned job to tell me they will be out in several days. I also, get when I call a bunch of meddling hens. The owner I've left VM as well as emails, yet nothing. Either they don't value you as a customer or they just have so many people upset with them that they are overwhelmed with calls. I'm in a contract with them and I assure you that when it is up I am going else where! read more

I'm moving into the area and called to set up a large tank for my RV. I was told to call back in March or April. I asked if it was due to a shortage in tanks and they said no with no further answer given. After checking the other reviews I'll be going with someone else. read more

We called to have our propane filled over a week ago. It is our main source of heat as well as what we use to cook our food. They didn't show up last week due to the weather, which I guess is understandable, but now that the storm has passed and much of the snow has melted, they still refuse to come fill our tank because there is "too much snow in the alley." My father drives a diesel tanker for a living and has been driving all over whatcom and skagit county, filling gas station pumps during this storm with no problem even on the worst days. This company would rather let a customers family freeze and starve than suck it up and drive in a bit of snow. Appalling. read more

These guys are amazing! We switched our service from another gas company and have been happy with the service. They show up right away and have made accommodations on short notice...they have not forgotten a fill so it's nice. They also respond promptly to phone calls and emails. read more

Horrible customer service! Referred my sister in law to them and regret it horribly! The new account rep gave her a bad time saying it wouldn't be worth their time to hook her up with a service because she's out in Concrete, WA and believe her usage would be to low. The rep was extremely condescending to her. She plans on heating with propane and hooking up an outdoor kitchen. These guys don't value the possibility of new customer accounts. I have since referred her to Farmers Supply, they were very friendly, happy to talk to her and they'll gladly hook her up. I do not recommend Northwest Propane for propane service based on this experience read more

I have received some of the best customer service I can remember from Northwest Propane. Really surprised to see the negative reviews here. I have been working with them for the past several months to get a couple of tanks purchased, installed and filled. Well after the tanks were installed and hooked up, we had to make some modifications and they were so helpful in getting some questions answered. We recently had a propane leak in our shop at no fault of theirs but they were willing to come out and inspect despite their busy schedule. I'm happy with the fill rate and response time. Shout out to Steve. He is pretty amazing. read more

Unfortunately the record producers didn't think it was catchy enough so they renamed it to the party drug of the 70's and 80's. Most recently, I called with a concern and Steve took care of me and made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed. I appreciated that they did what they could to make the situation right. Cranky driver who was irritated that I gave them a heads up I was low on propane! Accidentally paid bill twice. When I asked for a refund, they said I had to deal with Paypal whom they used for billing. Paypal said I had to get refund from NW Propane. Total runaround for weeks. Also, tried to discuss purchase of tanks since 20 years of renting seemed ridiculous......told to call back another time. Unpleasant, poorly run company! read more

You have other options... Don't do business with them! We had a tank installed, paid a year lease, $150 to install. We moved our motor home to our other property for the summer (usually have it parked at Port Susan) and they came and took the tank, screw us for the lease and install. We do have our site for sale up there, it can take months if not years to sell and we plan to use it until it sells. No offer to refund the 8 months worth on the rental, or the install that they charged us. NEVER will we do business again with them! read more

I've been buying propane for this company now for 5 years. The rates have varied very little and they are very honest. After seeing many of my friends go through other companies that try to jack prices while you are not looking I was glad to find a honest propane company. My father inlaw and his brother live next to each other and use a different company. While I pay $2/gal my father inlaw paid $3 and his brother was charged $7 highway robbery. My father inlaw and his brother will be switching to northwest propane. read more
