!!!!! USE THIS PLACE AT YOUR OWN RISK !!!!! Would give Zero stars if it was an option. Lock wouldn't open/broken when we came by to grab our daughters stuff to mover her back into UW the Sat before Labor Day. Their locksmith wasn't available until Tuesday but since we were in town and our month was up we needed to get her things out and into her place. We had to hire our own and pay out of pocket to get to our stuff. Find a Storage place that provides locks that work or will fix asap if you can't get in. read more

Rented a unit for 3 months here. General experience was good until move out. My rental contract stated I pre-pay for 1 month at a time, and that starts on the 1st of each month. I came in on the 1st of July to close out my unit, and despite that being the day my next month "starts" I am still apparently on the hook to pay a full months rent. The manager at the location understood and agreed with being able to get the charge taken off, but the system wouldn't let him, and he directed me to call public storage corporate. Both employees I spoke to over chat and over the phone were completely unhelpful, rude (despite me being extremely nice on the phone), and refused to issue a credit, despite me clearly moving out the morning of the 1st. I'll never use this company again for storage just because of their inability to look at a situation and be reasonable about it. Being on the hook for an entire month's $250 rent because I checked out a day "late" is terrible, and the robots on their support lines need to be given the ability to be humans. read more

There were 10 units that got broken into and one of them was mine. Probably in inside job as they had keys to the elevator and loaded up a flat bed truck. The manager told me he would give me a month free but did not. When I called to see where the credit is they said he didn't work there anymore and they couldn't honor his promise. After a year I'm paying triple the amount I started paying. Moving out ASAP. Your things aren't safe here. Update 30 minutes after this review they offered to not raise the rent for 3 more months but too little too late. read more

I chose Public Storage above QFC in the University Village for convenience of location. I thought my belongings would be safe. I visited my storage unit in October of 2021 to look for something specific related to Halloween. I had not been there for many months. When I opened the unit, I could immediately see I had been robbed. Not only were my Halloween things gone, but so were many other precious, unreplaceable belongings of mine. Apparently, a number of units had been robbed in February 2021 (or thereabouts) and I was NEVER NOTIFIED! This place is NOT SECURE! I mentioned the robbery to a person whom I passed as I was leaving, and they said that they were also robbed and were not notified. How could this happen?? I called the office and was lied to about being contacted. It's easy enough to go through my call log... no one called me! I called the head office and was all but unable to reach anyone who could be bothered. I would advise anyone to think twice, or three times, about keeping anything valuable in Public Storage units. Besides, the customer service is abysmal. I'd give them zero stars if I could! read more

I've talked to Tiffany at Public Storage (at 2746 NE 45th St, Suite 100 Seattle, WA 98105) about three times now over the past year and she is really quite good at antagonizing people. Really knows how to hit hot buttons. You nicely ask a simple question like "when do you charge a late fee?" and she'll give an answer like "it was in the contract, you should have read it... blah blah blah..." She knows how to create high levels of anxiety in the unfortunate poor soul at the other end of the line. This is a typical response of every question you might dare ask Tiffany. You ask an innocent question and get an extremely defensive, condescending response that has nothing to do with your original question. She makes you feel powerless, like you have no say, you're a nobody, she's the boss. Extremely rude. Tiffany could use good old fashioned empathy. So me thinks maybe my legally-recorded conversation posted live might help her learn how it feels to be powerless, and maybe learn a little empathy. Anyone who listens to it will hear just how bad the customer service is. read more

Just hiked the monthly rate for my unit by 40% after less than 5 months!!!

I can't even begin to express how upset I am with this Public Storage facility. Please, please, please don't trust them with your belongings. Our story: We've rented a storage unit at this location for approximately a year. This week we entered the facility to find that the locking mechanism on our unit had been forced open. We'd been robbed, and we lost at least $8-10,000 worth of belongings. We reported the theft, then called the police to file a report. While we were waiting for the police to arrive, we walked around the facility -- only to find that TWENTY-FIVE OTHER UNITS had also been broken into. Many units were totally insecure, with the doors literally wide open. It broke my heart to see people's family heirlooms, important paperwork, and cherished possessions strewn in piles after clearly being rifled through. Here's the worst part: during this whole saga, we realized that when renters report lost or stolen entry codes to get into the building, they aren't deactivated. Public Storage left 25+ units wide open overnight. They won't correspond with us, they haven't explained how this happened, and they don't seem motivated in the slightest to fix the problem. I've never written a one-star Yelp review, but this is truly atrocious service. Please, for the love of God, don't trust these people with anything you care about. read more

I rented unit number 2009 at 2746 NE45th St in Seattle on 10/06 and moved in shortly after. The property was clean, well lit and secure. The property manager was friendly and helpful. Public Storage charged me for the following month per contract but I moved out on the last day which was 11/05. The property manager said it would take a week or two to get my money back, I am still waiting! I subsequently rented another unit and my credit card was immediately charged, which makes me wonder why it takes so long to get my money back when I am charged immediately. They can and should do better! I am still waiting for my money! read more

My advice is : Don't waste your money on insurance...... They depreciated and didn't even cover most of everything that was stolen.... Submitted Receipts from Costco and Amazon too, and they didn't even apply anything except for 2 items listed in the stolen property..... Found out by filing a complaint with the State Insurance Commissioners Office that it was American Commerce Insurance involved in the big insurance corporation and its connected companies...... They only covered 50% of losses my renter insurance on my residence which was repeatedly targeted for burglary as well. My advice would be just plan on filing time consuming claims and don't expect them to cover it even with receipts and invoices....& expect if you're burglarized to file tort claims or lawsuits and complaints with the insurance commissioner.... read more

Very happy with this public storage location. Great by UW location. They have a couple of reserved parking spots so you don't have to compete with the University Village patrons for parking. Very good customer service. Over the years, we have had our credit cards canceled on us a few times because of.......(actually, I have no idea why they keep canceling our cards and reissuing them, but its damn irritating). Point being, the staff of Public Storage had always given us a call quickly, and sent us messages about our card being declined. Really helpful, because we don't go to the storage space often, and its easy to forget about it when it comes to switching all your billing over to the new CC number. They also contacted me one time because I had locked the door of our unit, but the slide was not engaged. In other words, the padlock was locked, but the bolt that holds the door shut was not engaged. They spotted this the same day. The lady working there told me it was found because they check every unit, every night! Again, good service. They also have a website that makes it easy to track payments, change billing methods, etc.... I've been a customer for about 5 years, and I have had nothing but good experiences. read more

I purchased boxes and moving supplies from this public storage location for an out-of-state move. Julian was working and SUPER helpful! He helped me get all the supplies we needed, a great arrangement of box sizes, and reassured me that anything extra could be returned if necessary. My husband and I each went back twice (we needed a lot of boxes!), and he always met us with a smiling face, helped us out to the car, and remembered us. This moving experience was definitely one of the least stressful, which is so appreciated! read more

To say that Tiffany is a rock star would be an understatement. She literally saved me from myself at a time I was trying to find a storage unit. She was so helpful. I misplaced my storage unit key and was totally frazzled. Her sweet demeanor and "I can solve anything" approach got a smile back on my face. She does a great job reviewing the paperwork and laying out options, has a joke or two and humor at all times, and is totally helpful. This location is awesome as you can pop right in to U Village, but, honestly she is the reason this location is suuuuuuper amazing. Prepare to get ripped off at every turn at this place. Don't buy the hype about the $1 first month's rent. There is also a hefty "administrative" fee on top of that first month's rent. Don't buy the insurance, and bring your own lock. Also prepare to have your rent raised every 6 months by 25%. I have had my unit a little over a year and the rent has been raised by 50% already. The elevators smell like urine. There are only two carts. It's a depressing place - you can smell the stress and despair, so make your visits to your storage space surgical strikes. The people who work there are OK - it's not their fault they work for such a terrible company. The only reason I haven't moved my stuff out to another storage unit is because moving sucks. Public Storage knows it, and they're profiting from it. Leeches. read more

She didn't waste my time trying to sell me things that I didn't want/need. The only thing I would like to see improved here is the doors need a way for them to be propped open. I could not have been happier, or more reassured, with the reception and service I received at the U-Village Public Storage. The location cannot be beat, and the rates (while a bit high compared to some other - far less conveniently-located and well-maintained - storage facilities) are nonetheless commensurate with the level of convenience and service you receive at this location. Besides, it is worth paying a little extra just to have the opportunity to work with Julian. His friendliness, knowledge, and positive demeanor, are unmatched in any storage facility I have ever had to deal with. Now, if only he could do something about the rain... read more

Linda often works on the weekends here, especially Sundays, and she is extremely helpful. The units are close to the QFC center and it is easy to find parking, even in a crowded area as the university is at the university village. Although parking spots are limited right next to the building, there is plenty of parking available nearby and i found it easy to get to the units. read more

I really recommend this public storage location!! Really nice staff who respond quickly to calls and emails, and who are super friendly. I had an issue with my key, and within a few hours it was resolved and taken care of, in a way that greatly decreased my stress while moving back into my house. Every step of finding, reserving, and moving in and out of my unit has so far been a breeze, thanks to really helpful, kind, and organized staff. read more

This was a great place. Not easy to get to, but Julian is very friendly and helpful and made the process very fast and simple.

I would not recommend this storage facility to anyone who actually needs to access your things. We rented a small unit to store tents, coolers, chairs, etc. that we needed to access a few times a year. The facility only has 2 small carts for the entire facility, so if anyone else is using them you're entirely out of luck. I spoke to the office to ask for suggestions and they told me I could wait or carry my things one by one by hand. After 40min of no carts we had to unload and carry everything upstairs. What would normally take 15-20min took over an hour. (This happened more than once!). Our unit was also broken into (by someone bending the wall with a crow bar) and apparently the required insurance you have to buy doesn't cover break in? I've seen units flood and other people lose their storage items, and the final kicker was that when we moved out on Dec 3rd that we were forced to pay a full month's rent despite having scheduled the move out weeks ahead of time with the implication that December would be pro-rated. Unless you don't care about your stuff and you don't need it, don't rent a unit here!! read more

I was at this store recently to purchase boxes for my upcoming move. Wow! The manager, Julian, was so helpful with getting me all of the items I needed to pack up my stuff. I thought I just needed boxes but left with much more. At the end of packing, I was glad that I bought more than I thought I needed because I used all of it! read more

Having to hit the ground running can be disgruntling, but he was outstanding and didn't bat an eye. Public Storage was terrible. I'm moving my stuff to Seattle, and apparently they have a single location with climate control, which I don't understand due to the rain here. And they couldn't explain it to me. Their web site doesn't have an advanced search to help me find what I need. The site gives misleading messages like, "what you're looking for has limited availability. Please call the location" when the location doesn't offer what I need at all, so calling is just a waste of time. And then on the location pages, they give a 800 number (national) and what appears to be a local number (425) but the "local" number goes to the same national number, and their system assumes the site you want to talk to based on your phone number (hello 90s, would you like your area code assumptions back?), so you have to wade through several menus before waiting to talk to a live rep, who can finally give you the local number. This is idiotic. If people think this is good service, I encourage you to try an actual good storage service, such as Uncle Bob's. Maybe that chain isn't found here, but there must be something better than PS. read more

I am not sure if these people who have written those outstanding reviews were at the same facility I was at. In the past several weeks I have gone to this facility to find a note on the door that they were closed and would return at a specific time. I returned 15 minutes after the expected return time on the note and a new note was on the door with another closure and return time. A great inconvenience for me. On another occasion I went there to get some things from unit and their were no carts available even though there was only one other car in the parking area. I was told by the office person that they are allowed only 2 carts. How ridiculous is that considering the number of units they have and especially if one person makes use of both carts. I returned the next day and there were 2 carts but only one had a handle on it meaning only was could be used. I recently had some surgery and have a temporary handicapped pass and on both of my last visits the handicapped designated space was occupied by a vehicle without the handicapped sticker. When I went to the office the one employee admitted it was their car and moved it the other said he would look into it. Later I saw him get in the car so he lied by not revealing it was his car. There is readily available parking for employees so why are they using the handicapped space? There have been other times where the professionalism and customer care was non-existent. If this particular location wasn't so convenient to my home I would be going elsewhere. If you can find somewhere else to store your items, do so. read more
