I have worked with Martin and his crew on at least 10 local moves. They are easy to work with, flexible with dates, punctual, and do an amazing job. I have had them move items between houses, taking a load one way, then offloading, and then bringing other items back. I have had them move me out of the house for painting and re-carpeting, and then back in again. They have always been respectful, listened to how I want my moves done, and have never damaged anything. I will continue to use them for all of my moves. I would give these people zero stars if it was possible. We used them to move us out of our house while we renovated the house. They stored our stuff with the goal of moving us back in when the house construction was completed, which took about 6 months. Well, when it was time to move back in, they couldn't locate the major appliances that they were storing, and damage was done to 10 pieces of furniture. Our bar stools somehow got white paint on them. Our dining bench was stored outside or something because it came back to us completely damaged. Our bookshelves are missing the removable shelves, and they are nowhere to be found. When I contacted the owner, he gave me excuses and said the furniture just needed to be wiped down, which was not true. He then gave us lip service and said don't worry, I will take care of you guys... only to be completely silent and unresponsive. If you care about your house items, DO NOT hire these people. They don't care about your stuff, and they charge you an arm and a leg. Stay clear!!!!!! read more

After concluding my business with Seattle Movers, they continued to charge me monthly storage fees automatically for 2 months, for a total of $700. My belongings were back in my home, but they kept charging me! I notified of them of the issue on June 21, 2024, and they stopped the recurring charges. But they have not refunded me for the $700 they overcharged. They continue to make up excuses about new accountants, accountants being on vacation, accountants being hard to work with, etc. They first promised to have it done within 2 weeks. It has now been over 2 months. The movers were great, but the admins were not responsive with returning the money they have overcharged me. I have filed a complaint through BBB and will need to go through small claims court next. EDIT: got paid back after 2 months and the complaint to the BBB, updated to 3 stars since the actual moving service was good, but the burden was all on me for a returning the money. read more

I worked with Seattle Movers four times in 2024: first to move bulky furniture into storage to refinish the floors, then to move 1-2 pieces back for staging, then moved a 2-bedroom house into storage after it sold, and finally put everything into a pod to move out of state 3 months later. Each team was a slightly new mix of people, and three people stood out as all-stars: first, Nino is incredible at Tetris with furniture. He was very conscientious, taking pictures of each layer as he filled the pod from back to front, and took special care with large, fragile artwork. Kendall was creative and thoughtful about how to cram a bunch of stuff into the storage unit, and he was kind to my dog. Nacim was easy to work with, friendly, and positive/upbeat; he's great at customer service. All the movers worked hard. This was the ~10th time I've worked with Seattle Movers, and from my experience with other companies, they are the best in Seattle. They made one mistake of not putting a furniture pad on top of a desk before stacking cardboard boxes on it, so the desktop got scratched, but they issued me a credit to have it repaired. Two movers and a large truck helped me move my studio into my new house less than a mile away. They did work hard, mostly listened, and were quick. The good: -responsive office when I set things up -The movers were on time -the movers worked hard -they mostly listened to what I needed The bad: -they didn't listen when I told him to pull up in front of the house facing north so the truck wouldn't block any neighbors' driveways, and it would only block mine while they unloaded. He turned the opposite way and insisted it was fine to completely block my new neighbor's driveway. I know men like this - they like to do things their way and don't want to be told. So I just let it happen. Of course my new neighbor came home less than 15 minutes later so I went to get the driver and told him again how to park the truck to not block neighbor driveways. His partner explained to him in Spanish what to do so the first time he parked may have been a language barrier. My neighbor was not happy. -I told them to leave the large wardrobe boxes in the loft since they wouldn't fit through the bedroom door. I went back upstairs literally less than five minutes later and they're forcing a wardrobe box through the doorway and stripping brand new paint off the door frame in the process. They were already almost done so I let them finish and then brought them back over to the doorway, pointed at the damaged paint, and told them not to force anything through the doorway because it caused damage. I told them again to leave the last wardrobe box in the loft, about 3 feet from the doorway. -they put my bed together, and I was explicit about how the legs went on. One fellow got it right, and the other (the driver, and the one who pushed forcing the wardrobe box through the door and damaging the door) had put them on backwards so I had to fix it by myself after they left. I don't plan to move again, but I won't hire them again. read more

I moved my 1 bedroom apartment with the help of Seattle Movers and I'm happy with their service. They arrived on time and didn't damage anything through the move. I do think that they would work much more efficiently if you stay with them. I did have a few minor issues. They said they will send two guys, but they sent 3. They didn't tell me anything about extra charges for that, not the day before, not when 3 guys showed up and I asked them I was told they'll send two guys. At the end though they showed me the invoice and the rate was higher. I called them the next day and they totally agreed to respect the agreed upon rate, which is fair and nice. They also sent the truck from a further location, which I wasn't expecting considering that they do charge for driving time. Again, I mentioned this to them and they considered the closer location for their estimate. I appreciate them being understanding, but I'd prefer more honesty and better planning upfront. Our first move went really well. We signed an insurance agreement in case anything was broken. Our items were wrapped and moved carefully. The only issue was they filled up with gas and got themselves lunch between locations which I found to be ridiculous as we were paying by the hour. The second time was an entirely different experience. First they were 3 hours late because they had a flat tire. Then they blamed us for missing their next appointment. They offered zero insurance. They didn't come with enough blankets so a lot of our larger furniture is dinged and dented. Including my 4k craft dream box- huge crack on the bottom. There are greasy handprints and marks all over our couch which I don't even know how I'm going to remove. We told them specifically that everything we needed moved was the large items we could not move ourselves. (Desks, couch, dressers, chairs, end tables etc.) So they brought the scrawniest crew with the dirtiest smallest truck. Which made zero sense to me. The "supervisor" was on his phone constantly and complained repeatedly about how much stuff we had and how heavy it all was. They didn't use any moving equipment that would make team lifting easier (he said he "doesn't trust it") so now I have huge grease marks and dents all over the hallways of our brand new home. I'm likely going to have to repaint. We had to move several large pieces ourselves because he didn't bring a large enough truck- even though we told him everything was large. The guys were nice ... but I would never hire them again. I'm not sure why there was such a change in quality. He did have me pay him differently (not via venmo) as he said he was "Having trouble with his partner." So perhaps that was why our items were treated with such disrespect. read more

I flew up from Sacramento to help my son who is out of the country move out of his apartment in Bellevue. Anthony and Derek came the first day to pack, they were fast and efficient! I was surprised by how courteous these two guys were and respectfull of my sons furniture. And cheerful, did I mention that they were cheerful? They helped me out with a couple things that needed to be sorted through and taken apart. They got to the apartment first thing the next day and got the truck loaded within a couple hours with a couple of extra helpers - Obe and Hector. Again very courteous and fast and efficient. After getting to the storage unit, they got it all tucked in and door down ready for my son to get when he moves back. Being from out of state, I was a little apprehensive but these guys took care of everything and went beyond my expectations. Absolutely awful experience. I scheduled these movers 2 weeks in advance, and confirmed the move with the foreman the Friday before my Tuesday move. Morning of I text the foreman again to ensure they're coming, and get no response. An hour after they were suppose to be there still nothing. I called the office multiple times with no response. Finally got someone on the line they said they'd find out for me. Half an hour goes by still no call back. An hour and a half after my move was scheduled they finally let me know they do not have anyone to perform this move and can't come. Anthony in the office hung up on me and then refused to take any more of my calls. Once I finally found same day movers, I let him know via text that I was cancelling and he proceeded to call me names. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

But also, and just as importantly, the customer service was better than I could have hoped for. I've used Seattle Movers three times now - twice for small moves due to remodeling (think moving the upstairs into the basement and back again) and yesterday for a whole-house move. I cannot say enough about how terrific Nino and the rest of the crew was. Our new home has A LOT of stairs and they didn't miss a step (pun intended), hauling a four bedroom house without complaint. Oh, and did I mention we have a shitton of books, vinyl LPs and wood furniture? Well, we do, and they lugged it all and did it in record time without any damage. They also went above and beyond, unpacking two new chairs and attaching the legs for me. DO NOT HIRE. This company will disregard your "fragile" labels, complain about and, unbeknownst to you, charge extra for stairs or heavy furniture, and then completely ruin your things. On top of that, they'll take four+ hours longer than estimated, add an extra mover without your knowledge or consent, and then hold your belongings hostage until you pay up to twice what you'd agreed upon to begin with. Additionally, they only take cash payments, which is sketchy as hell. DO NOT HIRE THEM. It would have been 1000% easier and faster to move all of this ourselves. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. read more

The purpose of hiring movers, opposed to bribing friends with pizza and beer, is to make your moving experience stress-free. Instead of spending 12 hours facilitating how and where furniture should be brought in, one can sit back and just wait for the madness to be over. After seeing all the fabulous reviews here on Yelp, I chose Seattle Movers to take the stress out of my 20 mile move. They are one of the few companies that operate on a Saturday, and that was most convenient for me. Unfortunately, my expectations may have been a bit high after reading that the movers were extremely punctual, the rates were lower than the estimates, and no items were damaged. I was a bit disappointed when they were ten minutes late, ended an hour after the scheduled time, and two of my main furniture pieces were severely torn. However, Victor and Ron were definitely friendly guys who worked with me every step of the way. Anyone who has been in a townhome knows that trying to fit a sofa sleeper through the narrow staircase is not a task accomplished by most. Surprisingly, they did it! Through the process, my sofa was scratched all along the base and on the corners. I had originally asked for the couch to be wrapped (which they do for an additional $5 an item), but there was some miscommunication, and it remained unwrapped. Yet, I understand that there will inevitably be problems in moving. Regardless of whether or not I was hauling that couch up, or they were, the couch would have faced some wear and tear. I guess my 3 stars remains 3 and not 4, because I still question as to whether or not the leather would have torn if the couch was infact wrapped. Aside from that, the guys forgot their tools, so I had to dig into my boxes to pull out my toolbox. They ended up having to drive back to get their tools; time which they said would not be presented on the bill, yet it was. When I brought this Martin Cook's attention, he immediately responded with an apology and reimbursed me for the additional hour. I am happy at how everything was resolved, and I appreciate their help in getting me moved into my new place. If I had to move again, I am not certain that I would use their services, but I would not discourage others from using them. read more

Terrible. Awful. Such a stressful experience. Not only did they show up 30mins past the 2hour window they had given me, but there was no phone call to let me know they would be late. They then proceeded to take their sweet time. When we got to my new apartment they were unable to get our couch to fit.... I'll give them that it's a large couch, but it has fit into 3 other apartments.. And one of those my mom and I moved it in!! I was expecting so much more from professional movers. When it was decided that the couch wouldn't fit down the hallway inside the apartment, they took it back downstairs, but in the meantime managed to get it stuck in the stairwell... The worst is that there are now major scuffs and paint from the stairwell on both my couch and chair. There are large dings in the walls of our complex stairwell... And they managed to BREAK a closet door in our new apartment that our landlord had to come repair. I will never use Seattle Movers again. read more
