Cascade moved our furniture from one Seattle apartment to another in September 2023. They were professional, flexible, and cheerful. They came in under budget. They also helped us by taking some unwanted furniture and bedding to Goodwill and the dump. We had an especially difficult (large, heavy) piece that the team tried every which way to get through into our new apartment, but ultimately we had to give up. Eric kindly agreed to keep it at their shop at no charge while we figured out its disposition, which was a huge relief for us. Cascade Moving is the only moving company to use in Seattle. I've had 3 moves in 3 years. Cascade Moving was, hands-down, the best moving experience among the companies used for a local move within (or just outside) the City of Seattle. Pricing for labor and materials fell at the mid-point of the bids collected for a move needed in early September 2025; however, it was the customer service experience that influenced the choice to use Cascade Moving over its competitors. As I told the company in a quick email I sent at the end of the move, the move went so well for me to want to say, with the upmost sincerity, that I had had the best time ever. Aside from the fact of how well cared for my belongings were treated during the move, for me just being there with the crew (watching how well they worked together and the camaraderie that they had with one another) was amazing. In that moment, I had said (and as I had told the crew after the move was finished) that I had had a good time during my moving day and to offer a "thank you" to everyone at the company who were involved in making my move a success. Quality of service began with no request for me to complete an online form to inventory my own belongings: I had a 30-year professional mover show up at my house, physically walk with me through my home to asses my things and inventory my belongings by looking into (and at) every piece of furniture, and write-up a bid as the assessment progressed. An estimate was emailed after one business day. No pressure was given to book a moving date immediately (no multiple texts or emails reminders). No pressure was given to make a security deposit to reserve the truck (no multiple texts or email reminders demanding pre-payment). Space was given to allow time for me to collect other bids and make sure that Cascade Moving was a good fit for me and my inventory. Communication was clear and open and to-the-point. There was even an offer to supply a ream of packing paper and a couple rolls of tape (at no cost) to help me get my move started. Quality of service continued on the day before the move when an outside complication affected the load. The same representative came back out to the house to assess the issue, make slight adjustments to the bid, and offer assurances that the move would go smoothly because the crew would be able to handle the last-minute changes. Quality of service continued on the day of the move at the point of origination. The truck showed up at precisely the time scheduled on the bid sheet: not a minute earlier, not a minute later. The 3-member crew was calm yet upbeat, professional yet friendly, and a whole lotta fun to be around for the next 5¾ hours. It was clear that the crew not only enjoyed the job that they were doing, but they also clearly enjoyed working together at a team. The pre-move instructions during the walk-through by the crew to discuss what was to be moved, what items were to remain, and which items to flag for unusual disassembly and special handling were needed to only be repeated once. Care was shown for all my belongings, strategy was demonstrated during loading, and concern was felt to make sure a very stressful day went really, really well. As an added bonus, a smartphone app streamed a 70/80s AOR radio programming playlist from the crew chief's phone - a perfect pairing of classic rock to the vintage furniture and inventory being loaded on the truck. Quality of service continued on the day of the move at the point of destination. The truck was unloaded as efficiently as it was loaded. Instructions given as to where items were to be placed in the new house were repeated only once. Care was given for furniture arrangement and set-up, in additional to all boxes marked "OPEN FIRST" making their way either next to the counterpart piece of furniture or into the correct room. As an added bonus, though the instructions were for all boxes marked "BEDROOM" to be placed in the den, the crew placed 2 extra-large boxes marked "BEDDING" next to the bed in the master bedroom as a measure of practical discretion (which was a surprise much appreciated when the time came to make the bed to crash into after a long day). My only regret was not finding Cascade Moving before my prior two moves over the past two years crisscrossing Seattle. If I had, each of those moves would have gone much smoother, with significantly less minor damage to my furniture and belongings from a collection of nicks and dings, and proportionally less stress and anxiety for me to have to deal with the experience before, during, and after the move. Used Cascade Moving for a move from a one bedroom apartment to a 3 story townhome. The experience was excellent, starting from the response time of Rebecca, the Office Manager, to the in-home written estimate, the flexible move scheduling and the moving services itself. Eric is the owner, and he personally came to our apartment to review the job. He ended up being incredibly accurate with how many boxes would be required and how long the job would take. He was also very charming and a pleasure to have in our home. They don't do estimates over web or phone, which at first I didn't like, but I'm sold on the principle now. The rate was a tad on the high side, but my wife and I felt it was worth every penny. We paid for packing services as well as moving services. Kendall and Mike wrapped everything thoroughly in packing paper and nothing ended up getting broken. They used packing blankets to protect doors and floors. They were also very respectful of our home and belongings, and friendly with our cat. On move day the movers and arrived slightly and got to work immediately. They worked incredibly hard on a historically hot day. They were thoughtful about what got packed and asked when they were unsure. They got our belongings to our new place quickly and carefully and were thoughtful about where to put everything. Again, they were friendly despite the scorching weather and hard work. Moving can be incredibly stressful and expensive, and we're very glad we chose to work with Cascade. It helped made the process as smooth as possible. read more

Our Best friends searched for a competent moving company and they found Cascade Moving and Storage. They had a great interaction with them and recommended them to us. They responded quickly and gave us an on-site estimate in a short amount of time. We scheduled with them and they were able to meet our move date without a problem whereas most others were booked out for months. When they showed up, we felt t hat we weren't ready for them, but they assured us that we had done a great job and they were there to help with the rest. I've used Cascade moving 3 times and watched my friends use them twice! They nailed it every time. The do moving by the book; especially if you live in the city. They obtain the correct loading permits block the street and get you out of your place and onto your new place. My moving patterns... Belltown (5 years) -- Queen Anne (6 months) -- Belltown (2 years) -- Pioneer Square (so far). Cascade got 3 stars instead of 2 solely because of the quality of one of the crew they sent - Dana. I asked them to do both my packing and moving, and they have done both before but this time they thought they would need more than one day so arbitrarily decide my pack day was one day prior to the move. I had to frantically call and nix that. I was also curious why, when I had the same or less amount of stuff, it would suddenly take more hours? I had moved from a house into an apartment the last time. Anyway, they agreed to do both on the same day, with the understanding that I would pay OT if it went longer than 8 hours. Note: minimise the amount that Cascade will pack. They are extremely slow. Well, I should qualify. I had a crew of three: Dana, David and Quantrell. Watching Quantrell pack and move was like gouging out my eyes with a blunt tool. He also did as much "light" stuff as possible - like slowly unroll wrapping paper - while the other two pitched in on the real things. Dana was the superstar - hard working and cheerful. If you could find out who will be moving you, he would be the one to request. I am glad that I invested the week before in moving a lot of my items myself - especially kitchen (spices, cutlery) and alcohol. I didn't know one could take a full minute to wrap one bottle. Also, they charged me 5 hours for the whole thing whereas the actual time was closer to 4 hours. I assumed I was paying for their time on the road. I didn't quibble because they had put in some back-breaking work. I would not recommend them or use them again, but if I could have just Dana - or people of his calibre - on the crew, I would use them in a heartbeat. read more

Please be careful. This company misquoted us about 3 times which ended up costing 3 times as much as when first quoted. The pickup went well, movers were very good! Now the drop off, which came on time as we were told at least, was not so hot. The driver refused to pull into our driveway because of a slight slope. In the contract the distance that the movers will go from the truck is 75 feet or they will charge you more. He offered to have his men move our stuff down the driveway into the house for 200 dollars extra. After already being bled dry I had to decline. We literally had to take our pickup, back up to the semi, have them load it, drive it to the house, unload it, and put it in the house ourselves. Oh and it was 90 degrees out. Seriously, we might as well moved it our selves and it probably would have been cheaper and easier. Oh! And to top it off we had broken items and pieces missing for the furniture they took apart! We used Cascade Moving and Storage for a sixty mile move in January 2014. They were recommended to us by a friend who researched moving companies on our behalf. We are an elderly couple and we were moving out of a 1700 square foot home we had lived in for 40 years to a retirement community. Although this was a very stressful time for us, Cascade's professionalism before, during and after the move were simply outstanding. We were very nervous about choosing a company we had never heard of before but their bid, which was personally delivered to us by the owner (Eric), was significantly lower than the other bids we had received. We boxed much of the stuff ourselves, but the movers came the day before the move and boxed the clothing which was on hangars and some very precious antique lamps and furniture items for us. On the day of the move, they came right on time as promised and they were at our new home shortly after we arrived there ourselves. They were extremely good about getting things to the right rooms and, even more importantly, precisely in the right spots in each room. They even hauled away all of the boxes and cleaned up other cleaning debris. We have been meaning to write this review for some time now. Many of our items were damaged during our move and even though the guys moving our stuff insisted that the owner had connections to get our couch and bookcase repaired, they ended up not having someone to do the repairs. In trying to get all of this dealt with Rebecca one of the owners was completely rude. Absolutely no people skills whatsoever. Shame on cascade moving for there substandard customer service. I have used them twice...obviously the second time because they did a great job on the first which entailed moving my mother from an apartment she had occupied for over 40 years in lower Queen Anne. Tough job but they got it done in less time than they thought and there were no issues. The gents that did the work were very courteous and careful. The second move was two or so years later. It involved moving furniture and disposing of some of it at a Goodwill site. The move went smoothly and one of the crew was involved in the first move. I was pleased that they would do the donation on the way back to their shop thereby saving me additional hassle and I tipped them for doing it. When I got the breakdown from their office I questioned the charge because of how long it took them to get back to their shop. I spoke with Eric (the owner) whom I had dealt with previously. He is a totally straight up guy. He ate the upcharge without any issues, thanked me for tipping his guys AND sent me a check to make the bill right since my credit card had already been charged. I have since recommended his company to two assisted living facilities as someone who is local AND trustworthy. I've been involved in commercial debt recovery for 40+ years and have had to go after numerous moving companies across the country. I've had considerable experience dealing with the owners and the fronts for these companies and I can tell you that Cascade and Eric are not one of them. No he's not my brother-in-law:), just a hardworking and honest local businessman in my estimation. read more
