I paid a $30 booking fee online four days before my move 17 miles away inside of Seattle. You could not ask for a smoother move (no, this is not a commercial for a laxative). Two hours from start to finish. They (two men) moved all my stuff from a bedroom to my new studio apartment in under the three hour minimum--but that's okay. With the truck rental it was $437 total. These guys--the do not milk the clock. They move with speed, putting everything in these huge 60" x 24" boxes, except for the furniture. EVERYTHING gets wrapped like a palette 360 degrees around. I just stayed out of their way, and within one hour they had everything loaded up. They brought a 24' truck, which was bigger than I expected. The drive was 30 minutes to my new place and unloading took about 45 minutes. They had me sign a standard moving contract, and I absolutely appreciate the 10% military discount, and another 3% for paying cash. FANTASTIC, could not say one thing bad. They are very careful with my stuff. Absolutely recommended. read more

They left boxes up to my ceiling so that was the worst part. They were horribly inefficient and half way through I asked about timing and space and it took 3 hours for them to send more people. They ran into both the house I was moving out of and the storage unit, so they were not careful. On top of all of this I called to complain and they didn't respond or do anything. Also I was charged by 2 Pure Moving, so something was off for sure. Do not recommend. read more

I am in the process of moving from Seattle to New Hampshire following a divorce and really needed help. The two helpers were small of stature and very young. They may have been very new. Here were the issues: 1. They did not use moving straps. They were ill prepared to move heavy equipment. 2. Not everything was strapped down. I had to climb in, check every and re-strap mulitple items, including a Celtic harp that would have gone flying had it not been strapped down. 3. They could not move our couch (which has been moved multiple time without issue by others) and had to remove the patio door that was not put back on before they left. They removed it. 4. They finished early. 5. They wanted to charge $160 extra for the weight of the coach, which they dropped when I said I would leave an honest review. 6. They were aggressive about getting a review right away. The items are not there yet. I'll give the full review when they arrive. read more

We booked a move for the a couple weeks ago all seemed fine. While we were putting stuff away and then wanting to start hanging stuff we realized our basket of tools was missing. I called and told them that they were missing, they said they would investigate and get back to me. I waited 3 days and decided to call them back. They told me they "looked" everywhere. No someone stole them and you should be asking those 3 men who did the move where they are. A basket with a drill, drill bits, and other tools don't just go missing. Read the service agreement carefully before signing! This is a review of trying to book with this service, not of the actual moving services. Requested a quote for June. Original quote was provided for the requested service date. During confirmation the date was switched to May and I was told that the date I was trying to book was not available (date was also 2 days from booking attempt). I attempted to correct the date back to June and the service agent stayed firm that the May date was not available and again sent a quote for an alternate May moving date. Finally replied by typing out the month instead of providing month numbers and got sent a quote for the correct date, which is on a weekday, but for a higher rate than the original quote. Contacted them again to question the discrepancy and was told it was a weekend rate. Pointed out that the move was on a week day not a weekend and asked to speak to a manager. Was told a manager would call me. Manager only called after I called them to give feedback. She tried to explain the error by reading the month/day in European format. Not sure how 6/25 gets translated to 5/26 even if switching to European format: 25/06/24. They help install and uninstall my furniture quickly, and packed and unpacked my clothes. It took 4 hours to move, additional 1hour was added on the minimum 3 hours. But it is mostly because of the slow elevator. I was worried about the TV because my TV is really huge (77 inches and very thin) at the beginning of moving, but it went to my new apartment perfectly. My husband and I had a very positive experience with Man With A Truck Moving for our Seattle-LA move. We got quotes from several other top rated movers, but felt we were overquoted for the volume of our goods and might be subject to estimate increases. We chose MWAT because they offered a competitive flat rate and a dedicated truck and would arrive faster than the competition. Given the competitive rate and included services we were worried MWAT might be too good to be true, but it turns out they were great. Russ was our foreman for the move and he was easy to get in touch and communicate with. He arrived within the expected time windows, managed the helpers well, and got the loading and unloading done faster than we expected. He even went above and beyond to help us with some specific requests for my pottery wheel which was very heavy and crated. This doesn't detract from our high rating, but a few details for those considering MWAT: - MWAT wrapped and handled our stuff with care, but in some cases seemed to take shortcuts to move more quickly. For example, they did not disassemble our standing desk or bed frame, even when suggested by us. They assured us they transported these items intact all the time disassembly was unnecessary. The items did arrive in good condition, and I got the impression they would have disassembled the items if we insisted, but it's worth noting that they optimized for efficiency over delicate care. - There were some minor bumps and scratches caused by the moving when they arrived at our new apartment, which they attempted to address. There were a few details like not using floor coverings that would have given us a bit more peace of mind in a new rental. - A few days before our move, we did receive a call asking whether we would consider adjusting our move date to better accommodate another interstate move they were scheduling. This was alarming at first, as it made us worried that MWAT might just change our move date last minute when we had a firm move out schedule with our landlords. However after we expressed our concern, they reassured us the original scheduled move date would be honored, and sure enough everything went according to plan. Despite these small notes, overall our experience was very positive and we would certainly work with Russ and MWAT again!! read more

I MIGHT have considered using this service if I hadn't been asked to pay to a booking fee before I even had a chance to 1) speak to a person, and 2) give more than just the addresses... who sends a Square invoice to "hold" the reservation without talking to someone? These people do... SEE UPDATE BELOW... I find it very poor business practice and even worse customer service or even decency...Rates were almost identical to another company that contacted me to ask the specific information & verify my needs/concerns as well as book AT NO CHARGE a video chat prior to providing a "not to exceed" quote - that's the BEST thing I've heard all day... plus, a cash discount which makes me even more happy!! UPDATE: Got a call from someone (she was nice) trying to explain their company policy is to charge a $30 booking fee - I get that - so many cancellations, etc. But, here's my point - technology is awesome - I responded with the information requested, but spent the time to also read to this person the Yelp info sent to me - which didn't mention a charge to book - but, if you've ever used Yelp for projects, you get several contacts from companies, and MAYBE there was some cross over between all the emails and texts but I got the Pay for Booking text and Yelp message 6 min's AFTER getting the Square Invoice email to Pay $30 to confirm booking via Square --- not a link to their company page, nope - Square invoice - might as well have been CashApp or something - so of course I'm like WTFrench? NOPE! Obviously, this isn't going well & I've got 3 other companies I'm making a decision on based upon ----- proper business etiquette ----- "Hi, this is Cool Dude with Smooth Company - can I talk to you about your upcoming move? You can call me direct at ### so we can go over more details"... now THAT is how you get my attention... the nice lady trying to tell me about their company policy kept telling me the same thing over and over like she was reading from a script... been there, done that!! She wanted me to "consider" changing my point of view, but my point of view is that they should WARN a person before sending them a square invoice for $30 to "book" the reservation... sorry, but that'd be like someone sending me an invoice to pay for my seat reservations prior to booking a flight reservation - because the seats are filling up fast - nice try... Maybe I'm being unreasonable? Not like $30 is gonna kill me, but it's the whole principle of customer service - explain the pricing, fees, all of that up front - this is shady & no way is the phone call I got afterwards trying to salvage my opinion going to help... change the company policy maybe to explain this fee UP FRONT and maybe also find out if their competitors do this as well? I can tell you - within 15mins of my request for local movers, I had 7 companies contact me back - this company is the ONLY one that asked for a booking fee BEFORE contacting me... oh, before I forget, "we apply the booking fee to your move costs" ... so, not only did you NOT mention the booking fee prior to contacting me, you didn't mention if it's refundable if I choose not to use your company - only that it'd be applied IF I book with you? Everything was packed carefully and thoughtfully, and assembled and re-assembled calmly and professionally. Where I am frustrated is that I was told 2 movers would be sufficient for a one bedroom apartment, and it simply wasn't. The work took over 8 hours and cost me hundreds of dollars more than if there had been a team of 3 (not to mention the time aspect). Right now I am just shopping around. In response to this quote I received a text message than an email about the quote. I was then called to make sure I had seen the quote and to ask if I wanted to use their service. I told them then I was just shopping around and would get back to them. Then I got a second email. This was all within hours... This morning I have received another phone call, and a couple emails asking if I wanted to use their services. The last of which I replied to with an adamant NO and asked to be removed from all calling and mailing lists.
