I wish I could be the third charming reviewer of Eco-Movers, but there was nothing eco- about them, not to mention they were horrible horrible HORRIBLE! I was going to give them 2 stars just for being available (through a contract company, mind you, where I could've gotten any mover) last minute... Oh how excited I was to find out it was them. Oh how disappointed I am now. Some details: First, what mover walks in and tells you "I didn't want to take this job?" A hundred guys on Craigslist did, but I got stuck with these ungrateful and *arrrrogant* idiots? I tried being friendly--the plastic bin thing someone mentioned wasn't part of my packing, nor were the "blankets" and "bubble wrap" and everything else they were supposed to supply. Against the M contract, they tried to gouge me $15 more an hour for the move (despite me already having paid $75, the truck charge, so there's no excuse THERE). I guess they could tell that--when they weren't separating, let alone MARKING, the things to be put in storage vs the things to take to the wee little home... well, they left things OUTSIDE... all with a see you tomorrow--they could tell they were just going to run with the money. I can't just leave, in Seattle, stuff outside--it could rain, or I could have someone grab the stuff like it belongs to them--presuming it's okay to leave my house furnishings outside because you don't intend to finish the job (no one did a basic respect of TELLING ME THIS--I found out 1.5 hours before they were scheduled to finish this job! and only because I called myself). It's kinnnda weird when someone asks you for certain things--this was on their first job of the day when (in under 2 hours) both of them need to take a piss... a really long one in one case--then the assistant needs a lighter... to smoke... in/around your home. 2 hours into your first job of the day and you both can't do your "business" before arriving and also can't fucking wait to light up? Did they miss the memo that most places in Seattle went smoke free? I live(d) right next to a fire station... yeah, light up boys--no smoking within 15 feet (which covers my entire "estate"). Not sure where this idea came from that a professor was suddenly going to... I dunno, not pay them? Visa and Mastercard secure the payments, but they got this oddball idea that because my old place is being turned into the extended Fire Station (if they read the city news, they'd know that) it's my fault for not getting to stay on the current lease (a month to month thing past the first 7 months or however long)? I pointed out that both the upstairs units were empty, silent, that it wasn't just "me" being sent bye bye from the multiplex... that I have a notice that the property's going down and that is circled as the reason to leave... but no... that's not okay because face it... movers just aren't the smartest kids on the block and 2+2 apparently equal fraud or something... in this case, 1+1 (who were also a bit fussy about not hiring 3 when my place was CROWDED)=less than 1 grateful Craigslist kid I could've hired. I'm not saying I'll hire random Craigslist people next time, no, but I AM saying that I'd never recommend people who were scheduled for sometime between 2 and 4, never canceled with me, and also left my belongings--both boxes like a wardrobe and odds and ends designated as furnishings-- laying around outside to be destroyed (same 2 guys who wouldn't take out--at $70 an hour to pack--the trash they made of the boxes in here despite me not being able--and them knowing I'm not--to lift these piled in waste receptacles the size of a CAD monitor (what two of them used to contain). Whatever the "Kangaroo" means, it isn't ecology or even environmentally conscious operation. I think it's more like egotistical careless orangutans... except I like orangutans and can't say the slightest bit of nice words about Grant, whose only resemblance to an orangutan would be height and the probability of flinging poo back and forth with his mates. Either way, I got a sh**ty deal and to upcharge me was beyond uncool... to devalue my belongings--the whole damn reason I hired someone ELSE who bragged his ass right out the door despite them not listening to that ONE IMPORTANT THING (separate storage unit stuff from home stuff)--is uncouth. We had a pretty mixed experience with Kangaroo movers despite the good ratings. The move itself was not bad as far as getting our belongings moved without damaging them or either one of the locations. We did have to ask the movers to use more floor protectors as it was raining outside and they were dragging in mud, and they also left garbage (empty packing tape and shrink wrap rolls) in our old apartment, but other than that, the move went fairly smoothly. The main issue was their billing practices. The first bad sign is that they did not provide an estimate even though movers are required to in WA state. We called several movers, and didn't realize that we didn't receive a quote from these guys. Estimates are non-binding, but they provide protections in WA like setting a cap on how much higher the final bill can be, so be sure to get one, whoever you use. As other reviewers have mentioned, Kangaroo movers require you to pay a non-refundable booking fee and a gas fee in order to reserve your spot. The gas fee is *in addition* to being charged the hourly rate as they drive to and from their office if your move falls between Friday and Sunday. One of the emails they sent us said that they have no hidden fees and that their prices include packing materials. Then the small print at the bottom of the email clarifies that by packing supplies included they mean 1 roll of tape, 1 roll of shrink wrap and 3 wardrobe boxes, along with some equipment. I understand getting billed for materials, but why say they are included when you have to pay for anything beyond the first roll and a couple of boxes? They also covered two IKEA media cabinets with cardboard to protect the glass on the doors. The extra protection was nice, but on the final bill these two boxes showed up as $45 *each*. They claimed they were billed as special TV boxes, but when we unwrapped them we saw these were just regular U-Haul boxes you can buy for less than $2 (see pictures). I had to argue with one of the movers to have that line item removed from the bill. He gave some weird excuse about the TV boxes also including some special protection for damage (for IKEA cabinets?), but eventually he relented and removed that charge. When I asked for a copy of the bill I had signed he said I'd get a copy by email. They sent some spreadsheet instead of a copy of the document I signed. Days later I got a call asking for feedback, which was appreciated, but after I told them I was unhappy, I was again given weird excuses, like the fact that they didn't give me estimate because "its hard for estimates to be accurate". They are required by WA state, and as someone who works in the industry they must know that. I did get another call but at that point I was tired of dealing with them, so I dropped it, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. After all the fees these guys ended up being almost $400 more than a similar move we did two years ago with the same amount of belongings. If you go with these guys, make sure you get a quote, and carefully look over the final bill to make sure they're not overcharging. read more

WOW. Moving is up there with going to the dentist and the DMV, as things that people hate doing... but Kangaroo Movers absolutely made our move as easy and effortless as possible. From our initial call to get a quote (which was so reasonable that we didn't even bother to call any other movers!) to the entire process leading up to the BIG DAY, their office staff (specifically Tati) was beyond professional, accommodating of last minute hiccups, genuinely empathetic, and extremely communicative. On the morning of, our 4 man crew arrived on time and got to work immediately. And when I mean immediately, I mean IMMEDIATELY. They just laid protective carpeting down on the walkways and within 10 minutes, they'd hauled all of our kitchen/bathroom/dining room/bedroom boxes out and onto the truck. (We're talking several dozen boxes!) In 30 more minutes, our sectional was completely and immaculately secured in movers wrap. And then our expensive media console, coffee table, dining table, mirrors, etc. we're all protected to the nth degree against any damage and wrapped in movers blankets. Our mattresses were all diligently shielded from the elements. Even our miscellaneous garage items, i.e. sleeping bags, camping chairs, etc. that we didn't think to pack due to their bulky size, were packed up into large protective boxes for us on site. They even dismounted and secured our 3 tvs in packing crates! These guys treated our each of our belongings as if it was their own furniture that they were carefully moving. The respect and care in which they handled our possessions was beyond reproach. They made every inch of the moving truck count and made every minute count. I still can't believe that they packed up our entire life into their truck in under 4 hrs... My husband and I have moved a total of 7 times together and this was beyond a doubt, the fastest, most efficient move out we've experienced. Kangaroo is holding onto our furniture (at a VERY fair rate I might add!) while we wait for our move in date in a few weeks, and I know that when the time comes to move into our new home, it is going to be just as professional and easy as our move out was. I hope this is our last move for a long time to come-- but if we need to move again, I am 100% absolutely using Kangaroo Movers again. They are legitimately THE best in value, in skill, and in service. Do yourself and your sanity a favor: call them and let them take care of you and your family, during one of the most stressful times of your life...! read more

Young Jon and his co-workers from Kangaroo Movers were awesome! Moving is a pain and they really came through. Granted we basically only had them move our furniture (we had already moved all our boxes and hand carry items). At the suggestion of the scheduler, we opted for the 4 mover and their largest truck. They have a 3 hour minimum and we wanted to try to get it done as close to 3 hours if possible. We had a 3 bedroom, 2150 square feet home over 3 floors. We had 2 large couches and coffee tables, queen bed, full bed, dressers and book cases, bbq grill, outdoor furniture, dining table and chairs and misc items. We made sure that anything that needed to be taken apart was done before they arrived promptly at 8:20. Jon (from Moldova) was the designated talker since his English was the best. He was in charge of wrapping the upholstered furniture, mattresses, dressers, etc. His young friend (also from Moldova), who we called Tetris Man, stayed with the truck to pack the truck. As his name may infer, he packed the truck like a maniac, but carefully, that it was picture worthy...but I didn't get a chance - sorry! The other to 2 older guys were the muscles from Ukraine. They were very careful but efficient in getting furniture out to the truck. Towards the end a random 5th (free) guy showed up...but he actually slowed things down. He argued with Tetris man and the rest of the crew on how the truck should be packed. That being said, we were done in under 4 hours. Packing up in West Seattle, driving to north Greenlake, and unloaded - all in under 4 hours by 1pm. If we had gone with 3 men, it definitely would have taken an extra 1 hour at least. We were glad to have taken the suggestion of the scheduler. The cost for having an extra 4th guy was minimal compared to the cost of an extra hour... I really appreciated their efforts. Made sure that they were hydrated, offered them granola bars for their drive to the new house - somewhat of a "please don't take a detour and get lost...". I did have to give the 4th guy a ride so that they didn't have to call for a ride from their boss and get on the road to the new house. If it wasn't for the 5th random guy, it would have been closer to 3 hours for the move! We came right on budget and was more than happy to tip the crew for their conscientious efforts. I would definitely use these guys again!!! read more

TLDR: Broken Furniture + Poor Attitude. This is the 2nd time I have used Kangaroo Movers and I was definitely not as pleased this time. Right after the move, one of the movers pressured me to write a yelp review as he was standing there (all but refusing to leave until it was done). I went ahead and did it because I know that's important for businesses, and at that time I didn't know how poorly they had handled our things. The real issues: A piece of our bedroom furniture broke off, but they didn't tell us because it was from the under side where it isn't as noticeable. Later, I found the broken piece in our Goodwill donation, where they had undoubtedly dropped it in hoping that we wouldn't notice (they were aware it was a donation pile). Another piece of our furniture was also broken. Although it was just an entertainment console from Ikea that was going in our basement, the drawer in the center is no longer aligned on the track (and we haven't been able to fix it), so it no longer closes properly, and the cabinet door next to it was also broken and no longer closes. I also didn't care for their attitude. In addition to the pressure to complete the yelp review noted above, I got a rude reply when I asked one of the movers to be extra careful with a hutch he was wrapping (because it is a family heirloom). The year prior when I asked the movers (from this same company) to do the same thing, the mover in charge had the other team members double wrap it and be sure to be extra gentle. I was expecting a similar response, instead he pointed to the other furniture and was like, "can't you see we are wrapping everything?" This is the only piece of furniture that I own and truly care about, and I was simply trying to convey its importance, but I was responded to with smugness and attitude. I shrugged it off at the time since they were working diligently and I figured he misunderstood my intent, but given the state of our other furniture I thought it was worth mentioning here too. They got the job done quickly and it was good enough, but I don't think I'll be using them again. read more

When my SO and I were planning a move, we turned to Yelp to find the best movers to help us out. I requested quotes from 3 different movers, including Kangaroo. The thing that struck me right away was how direct and transparent they were with the quote. With Kangaroo, on the first reply back, I had a rate, and an idea of what caveats / quirks would cause that rate to change. With others, there was quite a bit more back and forth involved before I had an idea of the price comparison. While this was a nice touch, Kangaroo also came in with the best rate, and the fact that they don't include travel time to the origin location was a nice touch. As with Vanessa, our move started out with a bit of a miscommunication. We had asked for help packing our kitchen, and I thought had that confirmation, but our moving team didn't get that note or come prepared for it. Since we weren't losing the old space urgently, we decided to leave whatever we hadn't packed and go back for it later, so it didn't really impact us -- but that might be a note for others who want packing help to double check the confirmation. Beyond that, our move team of Kiril, Alex, and Matt were awesome. They moved super quickly, getting everything loaded from the origin super fast without damage to the walls, and getting things set up in the right spot in the destination. I appreciate their willingness to make sure the big furniture items were set up where we wanted them so we wouldn't have to do adjustment with those. They even were willing to move something a second time when I realized I pointed it to the wrong room in the new house. Very grateful for how quick and professional they were in getting the move done! I truthfully hope that I don't move again for a very long time, but if I had to do another move soon, I'd stick with Kangaroo Movers for the transparent pricing and the speedy, professional help during the actual move. read more

FANTASTIC!!! We recently did a move in November, 2016. We had a lot of options doing so. With three companies to choose from, we decided to go with Kangaroo Movers! Best decision, I have made in awhile. First and foremost, they were on time. It may not seam, like a big deal, but its "HUGE" Your already stressed about the move. Its safe to say, I'm a "OCD" kind of person. So, I was kind of concerned about our things. Well they put that to rest quick. Letting me know what would be wrapped up and what wouldn't. Then he asked if there was anything else that, I wanted protected ahead of time!(Caring) And then to be worrying about them even showing up! Ten reasons you should hired Kangaroo Moving Company 1 - Showed up on time. (Called to let us know, there about 20 mins out) 2 - We looked at all the stuff to be moved together. (They put plan in action) 3 - Took great care of all of our things! Nice furniture, TV's and lots of nice art work etc 4 - It was not a nice sunny day! But they were smiling and had awesome "attitudes" 5 - Teamwork was awesome. Communication across the board. 6 - Very "Efficient" didn't waste anytime while directing the move. 7 - They even went the extra mile to help. (Assisting in removing two large mounted TV's) 8 - Once at our new home. They worked with me to get items, where they needed to go!(Clutch) 9 - There price was right! (There team earned a great tip) 10 - Me and my fiance were happy after a move! Let me repeat! We were happy! We are very satisfied with their service. They provided us the best quote and even adjusted with our changing dates. Ours was an interstate move from Bellevue to Bay area, CA and it was quite difficult to rely and chose a good mover. I went by the reviews on Yelp and it was totally worth it. Vadim and Zafar came to pick our stuff. They were v.polite and accommodating. They didn't make any fuss with our move provided that our flat was on the sixth floor quite far from the elevator. They managed it all quite patiently. Covered all the necessary furniture, TV, etc with extra blankets and plastic wrap and made sure everything was ok. Didn't even ask for a toilet break themselves. Though they were a little late, but their service paid up for it. They took nearly four and a half hours, which was ok provided the distance from the elevator and care they took for packing. Igor, Hussain and George came to deliver our stuff on the 10th day since our move, following the snowy weather (else they had promised to deliver in 4-5 days). None of the stuff was damaged or broken. Igor was one nice polite man, who assembled most of our furniture with great care. The other two assembled our bed which was one of the most difficult part (as it had storage shelves) and brought most stuff. The also did their job perfectly. These guys came well on time and managed to bring all our stuff on the 3rd floor in 2.5 hours. This was the first time we've hired movers - Kangaroo was a great company that we will use again. My husband booked them and handled all of the communication leading up to the move. He mentioned multiple times he was impressed with how responsive and helpful they were. On the day of our move Kangaroo let us know the original truck they had scheduled for us was having issues and so they were sending another truck and movers as soon as they were done with their current job. Stuff happens, and we appreciated the head's up. A couple hours later MoMo and Rostom came for our move. They were super nice and let us know how everything was going to go. They were really efficient and also very careful with our belongings. Before our move I had a bit of nervousness about having someone else handle all our things but any worry quickly vanished with MoMo and Rostom. They carefully wrapped all our furniture and took extra care with my grandparent's antique secretary which is very sentimental to me (and also very, very heavy!). The building we were moving out of is a total pain to get in and out of but they never complained. They moved our 1 bedroom apartment to our new loft apartment in only 3.5 hours. They put everything in our new place where we asked and were very organized. I haven't noticed a single scratch or ding on any of our things. The whole process was very easy. When we need to move again I'm sure we'll use Kangaroo and would be more than happy to work with MoMo and Rostom again! read more

EDITED REVIEW: Gave them a 4-star after their manager or owner reached out about my unhappiness with the move. They refunded me all of the extra's they charged and also gave me a $25 starbucks card. Not giving a 5-star because I still experienced what I experienced and owner seemed to not understand that my unhappiness wasn't due to being charged extra (I would gladly pay if I was told in advance) but that it wasn't properly communicated till day of move. Even though I gave them all of the information beforehand. Either way, great customer service and addressing their issues. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've had two other moves with professional movers before and I had a great experience. However Kangaroo Movers was one that I was not happy about. 1. They had left a few dings and scraped some of the furniture on the walls and created a stain on the wall. 2. They charged us $30 extra for each TV. Prior to the move, I had informed them of all the items that we needed to be moved. They never said anything about the TV's. 3. They charged us $40 extra for a staircase... I had told them before it was a three story townhome and was not informed of that extra charge. 4. They didn't take off the plastic on some of the furniture and items. I've had all my previous movers do so. Those extra charges is mostly the reason why it's a 2-star move. You should inform your customers of what could potentially be extra after giving an itemized list. read more

I initially contacted Kangaroo Movers on 9/24 for a quote regarding a local move. A customer service representative responded in a timely manner and provided full details regarding the move so that I was aware of what to expect (pricing, additional services offered, minimum time policy). I initially booked a spot for 10/3 from 8-9 am (arrival window). Kangaroo Movers was very flexible and accommodated my request to change the arrival time slot from 2-3 pm roughly 2 days before my move was scheduled to occur. A few days prior to my move, Kangaroo Movers requested that I confirm the details of my move (move date, arrival window, and number of movers). On 10/3, John, Michael, and Emanuel arrived at 2 pm. I also received a phone call about 30 minutes prior to their arrival. I requested that the heavier furniture (bedroom furniture for 2 bedrooms and living room furniture) be moved. They offered to pack and move a few small items that I had planned on moving myself. They packed and moved all items with care. At the new apartment, all the furniture was reassembled and placed exactly where I requested. The whole move took approximately 5 hours. Overall, John, Michael, and Emanuel were extremely professional and made the moving process effortless. Additionally, the quote and booking process was very communicative and relatively easy. We used Kangaroo movers for our latest move. I'm not sure I've ever had better movers. They communicated their requirements, my responsibility and theirs early on in the process. I confirmed the date multiple times with them and was told I'd get a call the day before the move to confirm again. Well, they called Thursday and I said yes, we move Saturday morning as agreed. Unfortunately, I blew it. I had confirmed a Friday move with them multiple times and yet I had meant Saturday the entire time. Entirely my fault. AJ made some calls and wiggled things around and was able to do the move Sunday instead. (Super Bowl Sunday I might add. I hadn't planned on watching the game but I'm sure some of them were wanting to!). Stas and his crew (total of 3) came out on time on Sunday at 9am sharp and we were done at 3 sharp. 6 hours where they HUSTLED to move a 3 bedroom townhome into a new place. They were polite, communicative, asked questions if they were unsure about something (does this go? Where did you want this placed? Etc) and wrapped my stuff well will everything arriving at my new home undamaged and exactly where I wanted it. These guys were beyond great! I will say Kangaroo might a little on the high end of the range- but I believe for the quality of the service they provided that it was worth every single penny! Thanks Kangaroo and crew! Kanagroo Movers was my third and favorite moving company that I have used while living in Seattle. Book my move with Kanagroo movers was great. They were responsive and had the date and time I wanted, which surprised me as I booked about 4 weeks in advance. I was originally going to move most of the boxes into my new apartment myself, but due to an unforeseen circumstance (a squatter in my new apartment!) I wasn't able to move anything prior to Move Day. As a result, the job was MUCH bigger than originally anticipated. I spoke to Mike and told him the situation, and he quickly assured me that it will all get done on Move Day and there wasn't anything to worry about. When you're in the trenches of a big move, that assurance was priceless. Move Day: Emanuel, Zhenya, and Andre arrived 30 minutes early (but asked if that would work for me first). They were WONDERFUL. It was clearly a bigger job than they anticipated, but they told me to relax while they packed everything into the truck. I was even able to have lunch nearby. They wrapped everything beautifully (including two TVs, dressers, shelves, etc). They worked so hard throughout the 6.5 hour move and I'm pretty sure they didn't even take any breaks. None of my items were broken or damaged, and they did a good job of placing boxes and furniture in their designated areas. The next time I move, I will definitely use this moving service again. read more

We chose Kangaroo for our move in November because of the good reviews and reasonable price (they don't charge for travel time to move location, unlike many other movers). We were moving out of two 1-bedroom apartments into one 2-bedroom apartment, all in different areas of Seattle, so we knew it could be a lengthy and costly job. Kangaroo had no problem with the logistics and were able to accommodate our preferred move date, despite being only 2 weeks out from booking. Having used independent as well as corporate sponsored movers in the past, my expectations were about average. Well, Kangaroo greatly exceeded those expectations. Aivar, Michael and Zafar were great: professional, speedy, courteous and careful. They showed up to the first location shortly after 8 am (arrival window was 8-9am), and had all the contents of a 1-bedroom apartment loaded in the truck within an hour and a half. The second stop had stairs, but that didn't phase them, and they were done loading that apartment in less than 2 hours. Total unloading at final destination took about 2 more hours, and they were good about verifying where to put things and handling everything with care. No damages, no issues, just great service! They did charge us time for their lunch break, but considering it was a 7.5 hour job and they gave us the 10% yelp discount, we didn't sweat it. We will highly recommend Kangaroo in the future. read more
