My husband loved it. Ordered it blackened as I won't eat fried food and it came loaded with FRIED hush puppies (6) of them - boxed FRIED frozen clams- FRIED oysters possibly frozen- lots of shrimp very oily and scallops- BIG piece of TILAPIA- the broccoli slaw was old as well as the cole slaw . I did not like that it wasn't good unfrozen local seafood but that would have been double the price. Next time I would order something different that was not so greasy and fried. This is a little gem of a restaurant. Went here our first night in St Augustine. The steamed peel and eat shrimp were amazing! Our "lunch" portion of the grouper was huge. Came here to celebrate my nieces 6th bday. Party of 9, they got us in and situated quickly. My daughter and I share the half dozen of raw oysters- very good. Husband had the broiled scallops with fried shrimp baked potato (but got swt potato instead but didn't bother him) with a side of collard greens. This has been our second visit here over the years. Neither time was a disappointment. Not much to look at from the road, but don't let that fool you. This is an excellent seafood restaurant with top quality fresh food and great portion sizes. My wife had the broiled scallops with sweet potato and creamed spinach and highly recommended it. We also had the conch fritters as an appetizer and they were amazing with the pink sauce. I had the whole fried flounder with the sweet potato and slaw. I have a weakness for whole fried flounder whenever i see it on a menu and Seafood Kitchen knocked it out of the park. Perfectly fried, not greasy and lightly breaded. Is an employee that is there for long time and the way she talk the customers is not acceptable. Talking loud to go out because they doesn't have a propio cloth instead talk nice and polite and the last one was; a group of a big family was there and she yelled then---you should call in avance to have a big table--- customers go first and if a lot of way to conserve in the place without disrespecting. My first sign of how my experience would be was when I called yesterday and was told that the clam chowder was too brown to serve. We walked in today ignoring my first impression to give it a chance. Upon arrival no one greeted me and I asked the server behind the counter if we were to seat ourselves, she responded with an attitude that we needed to wait. As we begin to order our drinks her impatience was surfacing with our table of 9. When I would ask her a question about the menu she would tell me I need to wait since she was busy with other things... like serving our drinks. The bad service was not the only negative factors. The appetizers were decent but the rest of the meal was horrible. The clam chowder tasted canned, the "blackened" meals tasted burnt and the shrimp scampi had no taste at all! read more

We were very disappointed with this restaurant today. My tuna sandwich had very little flavor and my corn on the cob was water logged and over cooked. Ugh. My husband liked his boiled shrimp and fries. He said the shrimp was very fresh. My low rating is due primarily to the extremely noisy atmosphere. This should not be called to seafood kitchen they should be called the bland kitchen we ordered conch fritters there was zero conch in them no sauce specifically for the conch fritter , The ketchup tasted like tomato sauce, no vinegar in it at all, The tartar sauce was not tart The french fries are pre-frozen Sysco fries. My husband and I loved this place so much on our last vacation in St Augustine that we visited twice in one week. It had a lot of the same kind of food served over at Saltwater Cowboys but without the crowds. The scallop and soft shell crab combo was outstanding. The scallops were delicate but flavorful. The soft shell crab was meaty and coated in a tasty, lightweight batter. I must also remark upon the delicious broccoli salad which was one of the sides and a perfect balance of broccoli, onions, tomatoes, raisins and mayo. Fries and a few yummy hush puppies rounded out the meal. My husband enjoyed his soft shell crab and shrimp combo. The shrimp were butterflied, lightly coated and fried. Very tasty! The conch fritter appetizer we had on our initial visit were awesome and chock full of conch meat. We had the gator tail appetizer on our second visit. The best seafood in St. Augustine! This is where the locals go for outstanding seafood, reasonable prices, and large portions. I've lived in St. Augustine Beach for 15 years, and my husband and I go out to eat a lot. It's true that St. Augustine has great restaurants with loads of atmosphere and good food, but Seafood Kitchen is where we go when we want the best seafood available. The fried shrimp and daily fresh fish options are my favorites, but if I'm on a health kick, the menu includes a cold seafood platter with loads of blue crab, cold boiled shrimp and raw oysters. There's also a boiled shrimp dinner. They always have excellent sides, including a side salad, baked sweet potato, baked potato, and lots of others. And you can get a large salad with grilled fish or shrimp. They offer a lunch portion if you don't want as much food (still a lot of food) and a dinner portion; both are offered all day. And if you'd rather get your food to go, they do a great job of preparing your meals as though you were eating in, and packaging them with great care. And the wait staff are so friendly and accommodating. All of this in a family atmosphere. I could go on and on.
