Less than a year ago, I would have called this place a gem, best-in-class value for classic American breakfast and griddle fare -- but this place is going downhill at breakneck speed. Service is always friendly, but nearly every visit in the last four to six months has had at least one plate with soggy hash browns, undercooked eggs, or missing side dishes, things like that. The last time I tried to go there, the entire restaurant reeked of sewage backup; the men's room door was propped open, and in a restaurant that was basically empty, the host sat us right the hell next to it. Out of respect, I am not going to mention our server's name however I will say that the level of disappointment is very strong. The lack of service today on a scale of 1 to 10 would be an 11. First, we never got our drinks until literally halfway through breakfast despite asking twice. Moreover, we were very specific how we wanted our eggs, which would be very light watery runny and they came out brown and overcooked. She brought the meal in pieces not as one breakfast and then with the eggs being overcooked they redid them, but they came out the exact same way. When asking for tea refills we literally waited over 10 minutes despite having reminding her. Today's visit was beyond disappointing not only was the breakfast cooked incorrectly twice and we had to wait an extensive amount of time just to even get silverware (never did get the extra napkins we asked for) the Service was very weak today. It was very disappointing and I'm not sure that this location will be one that I will return to after today. I will say this, when zora was here it was never like this. read more

This place is seconds from closing. Their floors were so greasy and dirty, I was ice skating walking in. My food came out and the pancake didn't come out for another 20 minutes. It was over cooked on the outside and undercooked inside. When I got up to leave, I was holding my 3 year old daughter and we both fell down because of the floors. I hurt and bruised my knee. Can't imagine an older person falling. They need to clean the floors. read more

Very nice and comfortable restaurant. Prompt seating and coffee served with a carafe brought to the table. Prices were very reasonable for more than adequate size servings. Definitely worth another visit, when in the area. read more

This was unorganized and possibly understaffed. It took 10 minutes to be seated because the host/hostess was running around doing other things. Once we were seated and given menus it took a while to place an order. We had stuffed French toast and a mini western omelette, but it took over 30 minutes. At first they forgot silverware. We were able to get it from another server. The food was good but the server didn't come back to check until the busboy had taken some of my husband's dishes while I was still eating. We'd wanted drink refills, but couldn't get our server until she brought the check, and still it took a while to get the card back & sign. It's just sad that they seemed to have plenty of workers, but it was not efficiently organized. I went here for breakfast today, being that I was in the area. Upon arrival I managed to find a parking spot. The was looking very good today and the service was awesome too. I decided to order two over easy eggs over corn beef hash, and cubed potatoes topped with cheese and a dollop of sour cream. The eggs were perfectly done. The corn beef hash was flavorful. Came looking for good crispy bacon, their thick cut firecracker bacon caught my eye, but I wish it didn't. Ordered it crispy, it can extra chewy. Absolutely NO heat what so ever, and minimal sweet. I've had good thick cut bacon before, and its usually cooked ti be crisp on the outside, soft and smooth on the inside so it melts in your mouth. read more

This place is a gem. I wouldn't say hidden, because it's been in my face for the longest! This has been a place that I've literally passed many times and finally decided to go and see what it was all about. Definitely glad I did! Upon entering, the place is very clean and well kept. We were immediately greeted and sat and everything from that moment was prompt and timely. One of the main things I really like about this place is it's really spacious inside. You're not crammed next to anyone and have your space to enjoy your meal. I ordered the Zesty Smokehouse Sandwich with extra chipotle aioli. This was amazing. All the flavors blended well together and wasn't overpowering at all. For a side, I had hashbrowns, fried hard with cheese, onions and peppers. Thank me later. Your mouth will appreciate me suggesting that to you. My table mate ordered the breakfast tacos, with a side order of Salted Caramel and banana waffles. Here, your eyes can truly be bigger than your stomach, and the portions pretty big. My suggestion is to decide who wants what at the table and mix it up. We tried to conquer all the food at the table but failed. Lol. This is a neighborhood spot that opens at 0630. First time here. Lived here 7 yrs and keep telling myself I'm going to try this place so today is the day! Walked in on a Saturday at 730 and I was the only one here. I was feeling suspect! This is my favorite breakfast place usually. However, I haven't been there in months due to location but yesterday I was in the vicinity. The customer service was excellent, as usual but I was shocked with how unpleasant my food was. I only ate some of it after trying to give the benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe it was a one off thing and tried the other location across town......same experience. The scrambled egg dishes were either overcooked or super runny, the bacon was either overcooked or undercooked. I ate the potato chunks since they were actually good. It was disappointing. The food was delicious and plentiful. My husband had the Uncle Moose skillet which came with another side. He loved it. Onions were a little undercooked but he likes onions. We were so kindly gifted an "all you can eat French toast" coupon from a friend, so we tried Scramblers before our flight out of town. We started with the coffee and it was strong, which my husband and I both favor! We used our French toast coupons and it was SO DANG GOOOOOD!!!! If you haven't been to scramblers or tried their French toast, you should!!! The bread was so fresh and somewhat light, even for French toast. It was spectacular. Our server was wonderful, but of course I cannot remember her name. I think it was Jessica. She is normally at the baymeadows location however was helping at the University location when we went. Staff was lukewarm welcoming and I was surprised when the waitress did not place the plate down in front of me but put the plate down on the opposite side of the table and slid it across to me. (I was the only one at the table.) It is very clean - I like the casual industrial look but the exposed ceiling insulation is a bit messy looking and detracts from the overall appearance of the site. Restaurant was cute but that's kinda it. We got the breakfast burger and the eggs Benedict, and everything was pretty bland. No salt or anything. The eggs Benedict arrived room temp. We would've asked to get some assistance, but the service was so awful. At no point did anyone check on us. Additionally, we ordered a cocktail and a side. Food came out, no cocktail and no side. Again, no one came to check in, so we couldn't ask about the status of these. When someone came to ask if we wanted the check (keep in mind, no one ever checked on us as we ate), we finally asked for those things and the waitress seemed annoyed that we asked. We sat for a long time before anyone came to take our order as well. It was ridiculous. When we walked in, the staff seemed disorganized and bickered a bit about the menu and who was leading us to the table. Then, our food took so long! When we finally got the check, the waitress was so rude- snatching the bill off the table, slamming the dishes as she grabbed them. We didn't even say anything about the service or question her in anyway. Would not recommend this place at all. It's unreal we were given such attitude after receiving such awful service. read more

I went with my family (party of 4). We all loved our dishes but it took awhile for the server to get to us primarily and it took a while for the food to come out. The lady with purple and black hair should take a customer service, communication, anger management, and hospitality training. I have never seen someone escalate a situation because of her own assumption that things weren't okay with the patron. The manager who is a poor example of leadership should also consider taking a course in bias training, de-escalation techniques, mediation, and mitigation skills. Instead of stepping in to address an iriate employee, he thought it would be best to call the cops on the provoked patron. Classic go to move when you don't have the proper skills to problem solve. I'm actually going to escalate this complaint further. And my food that I waited on for almost an hour was cold. Imagine that!!! read more

The visit started well with a friendly server. Unfortunately, when our food came out, the visit went downhill. Honestly, the best part of our meal were the Arnold Palmers. One of my companions thought the hashbrowns were too crispy to the point of being unpleasantly crunchy., and she said the pancakes were plain... nothing remarkable. Another companion felt the skillet he ordered was dry and needed some type of sauce to make it truly enjoyable. The breakfast tacos I ordered were bland, but the potatoes were too salty.
