Had breakfast there with a friend recently. While the gal that waited on us did a fine job, whomever was managing that place, apparently didn't care about pleasing it's customers when we asked that the volume of the (awful) music be turned down a bit so we could have a conversation. The place was not busy, so I cannot understand why they denied this request with a response of "I already turned it down". On top of that, the food was costly and tasted awful. My family visited for a late breakfast on the first day of opening. The owners are experienced restauranteurs and that was apparent considering how great the service, food and decor were on day 1. The coffee was excellent as was the omelet I ordered. My family loved their meals as well. Our server was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Scrambler Cafe. Updating my last review. They added partitions above their booths to make it a safer environment and are following social distancing practices. We were so glad to be able to eat here again! Their food and service are exceptional and now we feel safe to eat there. They have done a wonderful job adapting to the pandemic. It's one of our favorite neighborhood places. read more

The food was excellent and so was the service Here is what happened I noticed when my waitress came to bring set ups that she was not wearing a mask. When I looked more closely I realized NOT one employee was masked. My waitress leaned in too close as she took my order. I asked her about this mask situation? She said Plano does not have a must wear mask policy but most of employees were vaccinated. I debated leaving but since I am fully vaccinated I was very careful not to let any of the servers or coffee fillers get within 6 feet of me. It's such a shame because the breakfast was delish! I had the classic breakfast which came out very quickly, in fact so quickly that I feared it was going to be pre made and tasteless? The food was hot, and the eggs over medium were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed every bite. I'm pretty picky about my eggs so this was a nice surprise. Bacon was crisp, as were the hash browns but the star of breakfast were the biscuits! OMG they were light, fluffy and out of this world! Coffee was refreshed consistently and was perfect also. The food was okay but the cost for 2 people should not be over $38! When we told the Asian lady at the register, she didn't understand what we were saying. She called over a manager and his response was "Have a nice day!" They could not care less!!! read more

Very nice little cafe. Staff was wearing masks and food arrived super fast and plenty hot. Service was excellent as well. However, my normal cafe doesn't have an up charge for my wife (who is a senior citizen) ordering from the kid's menu the way this place does, so I guess I'll stick with where I've been going. read more

Upon arrival, the interior designer pretty much failed as the decor was cheap looking, weirdly placed, and was barely passing for social distancing standards. Food and drinks were terribly overpriced, my orange juice was $4 for a tiny glass. Steak was rubbery, and full of fat. The restaurant has gone downhill since changing ownership earlier this year. (Although there may be a bit of a language barrier with the new owners.) Today I ordered a chicken carnitas skillet which is supposed to come with carnitas, egg, corn, jalapeños, onion, and tomato. I'm understanding if they are out of ingredients but they should tell me in advance. Instead, they brought the meal without the corn and when I asked about it, I was told they didn't have any. I would have ordered something else had I known but of course they expected me to pay full price for an incomplete meal. I told them I didn't want it and didn't have time to wait for another meal so I would just leave and they brought me a nearly $5 bill for just my OJ! It's a shame because I ate here 2-3 times a week since they opened last year, but I'm done with them now. read more

Had breakfast here this past weekend. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding. The Hashstack was delicious and we ate perhaps the best pancakes we've ever had. Everyone was very pleasant and proficient. Even the owner was refilling our coffee. What a fantastic experience. If in Dallas again, we'll definitely go again. read more

We got food to-go twice from here. We ordered the same thing both times. The steak scrambler and the diet delight. The first time I got the diet delight it came with cottage cheese but no fruit. The second time I didn't get cottage cheese nor fruit. He said it was an up charge to add. Which is understandable but it doesn't say that on the menu. So just a heads up for people ordering to go. Other wise, foods good but inconsistent to-go orders are bad. read more

Food was good and they have an excellent selection. I rated them low because of the complete lack of covid precautions; not even hand sanitizer or wipes at the register when then require you to choose a tip and sign a touch screen with your finger. I believe the owner/manager was at the register when I checked out and his mask was under his nose. I asked if they had sanitizer or a wipe and he just said 'no'. Will not go back just because of his attitude. Other staff was very friendly. read more
