BEEF TERIYAKI
LeeLee C.

Company catering lunch, food arrived on time. We had their popular items: -chicken teriyaki: pretty standard item and seems like it's their signature item, I don't expect it to go wrong. -beef teriyaki: a bit salty when I ate to the 5th piece. It's saucy, so good to go with rice. -steamed mix veggie: bland but I don't mind it as it actually balance out the beef when rice is absent. -veggie spring roll: ok I guess, but I wish there are more veggie inside because once it's cooked, the veggies tend to shrink -shrimp tempura: without a doubt this is the hit item. Can't go wrong with fried food but the shrimp is big and the tempura coating isn't overly thick, it still tasted decent even after reheating, and I call that a success. -tofu miso soup: slightly bland. Overall not bad for a company catered lunch. Popular menu items, stable quality.

I went walking around Great Mall with my mom to get some steps in. She told me about the promotion that Sarku Japan has for M to Wed right now where you buy one Chicken Teriyaki bento, get the second one for $5.99. We decided to get that and it was yummy! I finished everything! I would come back and try other dishes.

If you are at the great mall exhausted from all the shopping and want something to eat from the food court which is quick, tasty, fresh, delicious and comforting. Then Sarku it is. The lines are always super long but moves so quickly. Their speciality is juicy tasty freshly cooked teriyaki chicken(and other meats). Served on a bed of aromatic piping hot rice and freshly sautéed mixed veggies. I won't call it super healthy as the sauce must be loaded with sodium etc but out of all options available I think this is your best bet. Oh and it's quite cheap comparatively as well. For $10 you get a whole meal. I've also noticed similarly long lines and popularity of Sarku at Westfield valley fair mall. So it's quite a hit. Check it out and give it a try. You won't regret it.

Chicken teriyaki with all veggies. Per my request (no rice). 10/10!!

Located inside the Great mall food court. Their staff is friendly and the chefs know how to cook the food very well. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with all veggies instead of the rice option. The veggie portion was huge and the chicken was nicely sauced! There are other food options as well but this is my go to spot when I'm shopping at the Great mall. If you're indecisive and want a well balanced meal at a decent price give them a try. See pic for reference.

Chicken Teriyaki ($7.99 + $.80 for noodle upgrade) - this was a tuesday special!

Was at the mall when i saw a crowd for this spot, noticed they were having a special for the teriyaki plate on Tuesdays! Asked for no veggies and added Sriracha - Super good! Piping hot! Chicken cooked perfectly, They did not skimp out on the portion, Definitely a good deal! Waited no more than 10 minutes for my food

Very generous with the meat today!

Even with the low ratings here, this place is still fire! Always the longest line at the food court. I miss the good ol' days they would pass out samples. It would be a piece of chicken on an uncooked spaghetti stick like a skewer. I always get the bento box and add some sushi rolls. I miss the add on drink and eggroll to make it a combo for dirt cheap. They don't have that deal anymore! Once in a while they have Teriyaki Tuesday deal but on and off. They had a different deal this week but I forgot what it was. So long short, the promo changes. The staff is usually nice. They are pretty fast. You order and pay and go down the line. I always ask for extra sauce. I like how everything you need is self serve such as utensils, sauce, lids, plastic bag, etc. Plenty of tables at the food court. The food feels fancy for food court mall food. I highly recommend the bento box because you get a little of everything including sushi and potstickers! Soooo good!!! The price is not bad either. Don't be fooled by the low ratings!!! The food is fire here!!!

Whenever I'm at the mall, Sarku Japan is always my go-to spot for a quick and satisfying meal. Their Chicken Teriyaki is unbeatable--it's made fresh right in front of you, and you can really taste the difference. The portions are generous, the flavors are authentic, and everything is cooked to perfection. The fresh veggies and perfectly grilled chicken over steamed rice hit the spot every time. Whether I'm in the mood for something classic or a unique menu item, Sarku Japan never disappoints. If you're looking for a delicious, made-to-order meal while shopping, you can't go wrong with Sarku Japan!

Only eat here if you literally have no other options and really must eat at the mall. Service was fast and semi friendly, rolls were ok but too sweet. I would probably opt for a teriyaki bowl or bento box if i desperately wanted food at the mall next time. There was pick up on the left and right so it was kind of confusing if they don't tell you where to pick up. ***Sushi pick ups are on the right side and pick up for everything else is on the left....

Waiting for food now !

Ok where do I start ! I have never had real sushi before but I had to give it a try considering the speed and length of the line ! It was PACKED! But they moved so quickly I knew the food would have to be fresh because they were selling out and refilling like CRAZY! That's ALWAYS A GOOD SIGN ! Being in the mall had no effect on the ambiance what so ever if anything it made it easier to people watch and talk about how amazing the food was ! We are completely coming back to this place the next time we're back in Milpitas !

My to-go place in this food court after exploring every restaurant there. The chicken is so fresh and well cooked!

This place is located in the food court at the Great Mall. When we went, there was a line, but we didn't really wait for that long to order and get our food. They cook and prepare the food in front of you. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box which comes with rice, chicken, vegetables, 3 dumplings, and 4 california rolls. The chicken tasted pretty good; the teriyaki sauce wasn't overwhelming and was sweet and savory. I wasn't a huge fan of the vegetables and how they tasted. The dumplings and california rolls were pretty standard. Overall, it's a satisfactory meal that does the job, but I'm not sure that I'd order here again from the options available at this food court.

This location is located inside Great Mall. Food gave me food poisoning the next day. The chicken was good. Veggies have a frozen taste to it and the rice was dry/mushy.

Returned to Sen Dai Sushi after almost over 10 years and was very impressed with the fish to value…read moreratio. The sister and I ordered takeout to eat at our parents house for an early Mother's day celebration. Our total came to about $220 before tax and tip. This order included: Combo roll U - this had 3 pre-set rolls at a slight discount Rockstar roll - yum, loved the lemon slice and mac nuts Toro sashimi combo - 9 slices of maguro, o-toro and chu-toro Individual fatty tuna sashimis Sake wasabi don - thicc slices of salmon. The wasabi sauce was aight 10 pc sashimi combo - nice variety Beef bulgogi rice plate - kind basic but we ordered this for the SO (non seafood liker) Our order fed 5 people total and everyone definitely came out so full. I can't say anything about the interior since my sister picked up the order. She did say that after placing the order online, she received a call to confirm the order. I thought that was nice. Overall, Sen Dai would be my go-to for quality fish at a decent price.

We arrived right before they closed for their dinner prep at 1:40 PM, so we were worried they might not be able to seat us or that we'd feel rushed, but our server was amazing. She was attentive, polite, and made us feel completely welcome. We're huge fans of raw fish, especially when it comes to sushi, and the hamachi and toro were incredibly fresh--melt-in-your-mouth good. I barely even needed to use any ginger, which says a lot about the quality and freshness. We ordered a ton of appetizers, but the real stars of the meal were the baked scallop roll and the baked mussels. The sauce that came with the baked mussels was so good that we found ourselves dipping our other dishes into it. Overall, such a great experience with fresh fish, delicious food, and excellent service. We'll definitely be back.

And I've tried a fair share of omakase places. The prix fixe 9 course meal was $150 per person, and I personally feel the quality of the ingredients and overall seasoning of the dishes did not meet that price point. It was already a rough start with the appetizers. I'm also a texture person so maybe someone else would like these but I was not a fan of the vegetable jelly nor the goopy seaweed salad. Had I known this prior to dining I don't think I would have wanted to go with the omakase menu. The chawanmushi was very underseasoned and missing salt completely. On the menu it says it has crab in it but the only crab meat you get with it comes in a tiny claw that you have no way of digging out The nigiri, which I was most excited for, fell VERY flat. The fish wasn't particularly fresh and I found a bone in my nigiri. (??) The rice was also really dry and mushy. I was genuinely so disappointed at this. Miso sea bass was overly sweet which didn't really work with how fatty the fish was. It was too much. Also found more bones in the miso sea bass but that's less gobsmacking than finding it in your nigiri. The dessert, matcha tiramisu, just tasted like straight up cream and not sweet at all. I don't have a sweet tooth by any means but this could've used sugar. I didn't feel very good eating this, the fattiness of the cream plus not having any flavor ruined it for me :( Overall, the main theme is just the lack of seasoning in any of the dishes plus ingredients not being fresh. I know it's Kaiseki style, but the dishes also seemed very uninspired and plating was kinda messy. When I looked closely, the plates weren't clean and there were marks.. Maybe I'm being nitpicky but at a price point like this, the details matter. Word of advice, if you live in South Bay and want omakase, just take your $ and drive an hour up to SF. My bf took me here to celebrate our anniversary and I feel awful about how bad it was.. +1 star for the friendly service.

I ended up ordering almost the entire menu because I hadn't eaten all day and work completely took over my life. I got two Lion King rolls, a salmon skin roll, and baked mussels. The baked mussels were the standout--really delicious--but definitely on the heavier side. Overall, everything leaned rich and sauce-forward, which I realized was partly my fault since I focused on baked rolls instead of lighter options like sashimi. If you're not into baked rolls, they can be a little intense, so I'd make sure that's your thing before ordering. The salmon skin roll was a nice reset--more traditional, not overly flavorful, with just enough sauce to balance things out. In the future, I'd probably ask for less sauce overall, especially on the mussels, because it bordered on too much. That said... the value is insane. My total, including tip, was about $64 for six sushi items (including mussels), which feels like a steal. I personally found it a bit too flavorful, but my boyfriend thought it was amazing and was beyond happy--so clearly this place hits for the right audience. Would I order again? Absolutely.
