Every thing was average to sub-par. Love this area right by the new Lifetime off of Fry road, but expected a little more from this place. Our waitress was on point the first 5 minutes or so.. then not sure where she went.. literally. Not sure if they were short staffed possibly? It did seem like an expected Friday night rush nothing too insane. Food was pretty good. I got the teriyaki chicken which came with the hibachi veggies, fried rice, miso soup, & ginger dressing salad. May give them another chance one day.. the physical restaurant was a very inviting & sleek atmosphere & also seemed very clean which is always a big thing for me! read more

The sushi here is delicious. Rice is good and sticky. The roll offerings are nice too. The ginger is not fresh, and it tastes like it was taken out of a jar. How can you "clear your palate" with ginger that is not fresh? I can't comment on the service because it was takeout. read more

Honestly extremely disappointed in Sapporo. No worker was wearing a mask when I came in today around 2:30. With COVID and all, every single worker should be wearing a mask ESPECIALLY if they are making food. I watched the guy making my sushi not have a mask on and a guy behind him cough and proceed to blow his nose with no mask on. This is absolutely absurd with everything going on. I don't care how good the food is I won't be returning due to this. read more

We've been to Sapporo quite a few times. The food is pretty good, depending on what you order obviously. We have not had their Teppanyaki but rather ordered from their menu each time. The sushi rolls were good and well prepared. The Japanese curry was a pleasant find; it's the first place I have found that serves curry like my mother used to make. The curry is good but in my opinion they do not give you enough to adequately cover the rice. At home I would put twice as much curry on top of a serving of rice. The main reasons for the lower score have to do with the ambience and service. We have been a few times for lunch and if the place isn't busy, it's as if you were visiting someone's house for lunch. They always seat us in the corner booth near the kitchen and restrooms, kind of tucked away from the main restaurant. All of the staff are standing around in front of the sushi bar which is right by our table. So kind of awkward and uncomfortable having them stand by you while you eat. The music they play on the speakers is totally inappropriate for a Japanese restaurant. Every time we have gone it sounds like a techno club in there. Maybe some nice background instrumental music would be nice. Uh, hello. How about some oriental instrumental music? Lastly, I know it was a mistake but a server needs to pay a little more attention when refilling drinks or reaching for something on a table. The girl in charge of refilling drinks walked up and reached across the table to get my tea glass. While doing so she dragged her sleeve across my wife's California roll. And not a slight brush of the sleeve either, I'm talking full on wipe across the top of the rolls. We saw it but she never noticed. We didn't want to embarrass her so we didn't say anything. We just placed the plate on the edge of the table in hopes that maybe the waitress would ask if something was wrong with it since the plate was still untouched. She never did. So, if you are in the mood for some Japanese food in Cypress near Fry Rd, it'll do. Just be prepared for some club music while you eat. OOONTZ OOONTZ OOONTZ read more

Just popped in for a quick snack. Ordered 2 California rolls. Tasted Ok. The place is very clean and trendy. Good portion of filling to rice in the rolls. read more

Good fresh fish and the combo fried rice is perfect !!! To go or dining in all tastes great !!

We ordered delivery from Sapporo recently for the first time and were happy with everything we tried (loved the Yuzu Yellowtail!), but just wish that our food would have arrived a little bit colder (some of the sashimi was a bit too warm for our taste even though it was delivered on a cold night - especially the tuna, which started to separate and get stringy). I think trying it in-person at the restaurant would likely alleviate this issue, but with Covid, that's not always a viable option so hopefully next time we order the food will be packaged a little better. Cheers! read more

First time here and will be the last time. The food was eh. We really liked the 7 spice calamari and the sashimi was cut thick which was cool. I thought I ordered escolar sashimi but it looked more like a escolar carpaccio. The waiter said that was how they served it. It looked like crap. And the waiter was pretty crappy too. We asked if there were any specials or HH, he replied "nah man we don't do that" and walked away. I should've just left when I heard that but hubby wanted to stay since we were already there. The whole entire time I got ugly vibes from him. Worst waiter ever. read more

This place is warm and inviting, a bit smoky. Love the set up and clean /neat ambiance on a- Friday! Our chief (Bao?!) was super excellent! Very kind, made uslaugh, attentive, a socialite, and made our family gathering MEMORABLE!The A+ service goes to our 2 servers and chef was included in photo!Truly, was on top of our needs and met with excellence, also. We're very impressed with our food, Salmon from Alaska, rice is perfect, filet Mignon was exceptional (melt in your mouth), calamari was yummy to the yummy and shrimp (no odor)was delicious! Its somewhat expensive, however, quality and service is worth "A Moment Of A Life Time". A great place for family, friends and maybe- date read more

Hubby and I decided to check this place out for lunch. We arrived and everyone was very nice. The restaurant was clean. We had hibachi and we were there on a Sunday. They have lunch specials on the weekends. Food was really good. Service was top notch. Definitely going back. Check them out!! read more

If I could give this restaurant negative stars I would. I simply went in there to pick up a DoorDash order for a customer who paid for their order from this restaurant and when I arrived, the order wasn't ready yet which I have no issue with. I've waited plenty of times for other orders that's just what comes with the job, the issue I had was I went to go grab a few mints out of the mint bowl that's sitting on the counter, and the manager guy lashed out on me in front of customers who were dying in which I think is very unprofessional. Secondly, there's no reason for a restaurant to not allow someone to grab some mints whether it was from an online order or through a third-party order the store is getting paid for the food regardless by a customer for someone to act like that towards someone for grabbing mints I definitely wouldn't want to be eating there in person. I even overheard a couple that was dining in asking the manager why he was tripping out about me, grabbing mints, AnyWho, that's the experience I had kind of ridiculous I was literally just picking up food for a customer and got yelled at and threatened by a manager for grabbing mints, read more

The service always sucks! Good lord!!!!! During Covid or before. It's grimy and not worth the aggravation of waiting for the bad service to show up at your table. The owner or host is useless and as much as I a try to spend my money here, I just can't get someone to take my order on a slow Friday night during Covid. Anytime I attempted to complain to him I was scolded and barked at. read more

The pepper tuna, y'all. I know it's basic of me, but I almost cannot stand how good this stuff is. I've ordered from Sapporo 8 times this month (and am this close to making it 9, and it'll be 10 when I get next week's lesson plans done tomorrow). I do not know what about the tuna is so good. The sauce - is it ponzu? - I swear, I wake up from having dreamed about it. read more

I didn't think I would find a decent Japanese restaurant out in Cypress. I would think we would have to drive into Houston. But lo and behold we did find a good Japanese restaurant close by to my parents place. Not only did we order from the lunch menu but we also ordered from the dinner menu (we wanted appetizers, too!) I settled for two rolls luncheon with soup which is plenty. I didn't want to have the bento box which is what I usually get. It was worth taking photos to show how good the food is. I will tell you every time I visit my parents, this is the place I want to go. read more

Really enjoy this place. It's great to support local business. Amazing food, awesome staff. Always impressed when we dine here!

When they first opened, quality was good. Seems like everything has gone downhill. The 3 hand rolls took way too long to make... they came after we ordered the check after a long wait. My menu was sticky and had a funky smell. They also don't do hibachi in the dining area anymore. Currently, the quality of food is mediocre. I hope they take the opportunity to improve service and the food so we can give them another try. It's in a great location as well. There's lots of potential here but they are in need of major improvement. read more

So my personal review appears to upset an owner or someone that keeps getting my yelp review deleted based on my "personal experience". My personal experience; per yelps terms of agreement, is based on my displeasure of driving 45 minutes to the restaurant after reading a five star review on how good the food and Service was. I reported that as "false" since the doors where locked, there where no tables and a sign that said "opening soon". How can you get a 5 star review if you cant even sit down and they are not serving food yet? Huh Update: I finally went and gave it a shot since is right around the corner. Ambiance is nice, wait staff was friendly, food.. uhggg - no flavor. Had a hand roll and two sushi rolls. They had fresh fish however where very bland and lacked the melding flavors i experience at many other sushi restaurants. A little over priced but not exorbitantly. There are too many sushi restaurants to choose from just to settle on this one. Ill try again in the future after they have been open awhile longer. read more

This place is new and it's great. We always find ourselves heading towards town for sushi but I think we found our place close to home. They have real wasabi if you ask. This is definitely my go to spot for sushi in cypress!! Cypress is still developing therefore it doesn't have a lot of established restaurants just as of yet. Walked in on a Saturday evening at dinner time. Asked for seating for Hibachi. Was told there were none available when the were clearly open seats and an open grill. On top of that the old guy was rude about it. Left, will not return. read more

I guess after seeing that the restaurant was empty on a Sunday for lunch time that we should have left. The pros were the waiter and Hibachi chef very kind and attentive. The chairs were dirty. We asked to clean the chair from the last guests. But the food was very bland. overpriced food. For the amount I can go to Benihana or Azuma with the same price or lower with better quality food. The fried rice was hard and had no garlic or butter. The frozen vegetables were on the grill. Sorry we will not be coming back. It's close to my home but rather drive to a different restaurant. I should have known, we should've left when there were no one in the restaurant. read more

This place is a hidden gem! I love Asian cuisine but tend to shy away now that I have traded city life for suburban life.....but it's definitely worth trying ! We had hibachi shrimp and chicken . The salad is skip worthy as it has the same "thousand island" appeal so unless your into more dressing than salad , I say pass . However the salad is not why we go to a Japanese restaurant.... The service was kissie kissie smooch smooch so if you need to feel like a celebrity, you've come to the right place. A downer for me was the lighting in the hibachi was super bright, so if you're looking for low dim romance ambiance , this is not the ideal spot. But that's a preference and has no affect on the taste of food ...so I would give them major thumbs up for a suburban hotspot. Also worth mentioning they have a small front patio worth sipping a wine or beer on when the fall weather makes its way read more

Tried a piece of the Yellowtail - very good. Also, tried the Spicy Miso Ramen - not so good. Actually, it was the worst I have ever eaten. The broth tastes like dishwashing water. They bring along a dish of spicy seasonings and paste to increase the spiciness, but it did not help with the flavor at all. The pork in the dish was tender and delicious so kudos there. My server came and asked how everything was and I specifically informed her that I was not a fan of the Ramen. She asked why and I told her the broth lacked flavor and wasn't very good. She apologized and moved on to the next table. 10 minutes later she came back and asked if I wanted a to-go box. Uh, no! Clearly, I am not enjoying this. At no point did she ask if I wanted to try something different or order anything else. Fantastic customer service! About 25 minutes after receiving the Ramen, I flagged down a guy who appeared to be the Manager and asked for the check. Of course he noticed my FULL bowl of Ramen and asked if I enjoyed everything. Again, uh, no! I also told him I was not a fan of the Ramen and did not enjoy it. Moments later, he sent my server over with the check. I paid $21.87 for my meal, including $12.95 for the Ramen that I did not eat. I would love to try them again, but service trumps food for me and in this case I do not believe I was given good service by any means. I absolutely would have ordered something else - likely more expensive. By the way, there are NO Happy Hour drink specials. read more

I went to this restaurant to pick up things for the customers, because it waited so long I needed to go to the toilet. But the staff won't let me use the toilet because I'm not a customer. Ok. After I finished delivery, I went back to the store to eat and wanted to go to the toilet. I asked the salon staff can I use the toilet now? He said Ok. I asked him why he didn't let me go before? Because I don't eat at your restaurant? Or because I am a delivery man? He has an angry attitude towards me. Hope the owner reviews the service and attitude of the staff. Thanks read more

The food is pretty good and delicious . I will definitely recommend this place. Everything is clean and comfortable.

The sushi at Sapporo is quite tasty, good sized, well priced. They also have some really great lunch specials. The hibachi chefs are quite amusing, and have good control over their flat top grill. Kids would love the show while watching their meal being made. If you haven't been there I recommend you give it a try. read more

Very bad experience. We walked in on Friday night and we were immediately seated at the hibachi table. We continued sitting there for an hour having been served our app, soup, and salad - still waiting on the chef. I asked a server how much longer she thought it may be and she said they only had two chefs that night but it should be soon. Meanwhile, I'm looking around and see 2 cockroaches walking back and forth under the hibachi grill! We politely paid for the food we'd been served and then left. We will never go back. I never write reviews but felt compelled to do so given this horrible experience! read more
