Genuinely a great option. Service above par. Food was delicious. The bread was so soft and paired with a chimichurri and a pecan butter. The chimichurri had a kick to it from time to time, but I still ate it because it was really good with the slight sourness I like! The guacamole chicharron was so crispy and flavorful! I would come back just for that. We also ordered from the restaurant week menu. I got the Flora di Zucca which is zucchini blossoms. I genuinely thought it would be pieces of zucchini cut into shapes of flowers, but it was the actual flower! It was yummy! When I seemed confused, they let me try their regular zucchini too! I got the soup of the day which was a creamy mushroom soup and upgraded the sirloin to the filet. Both were worth getting. The filet was a little more cooked than I liked, but still pink in the middle, seasoned well, and tender. Their mashed potatoes honestly might be the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They gave me a sauce to go with the meal that they couldn't exactly describe. I can't exactly describe either. It was good though. I feel like it was similar to stroganoff gravy, savory and sour and a hint of something else. I upgraded one of the sides to the strawberry mozzarella salad, but I did not care for the vinaigrette that came with it. The pistachio cake was not what I was expecting. It was ok, but didn't really taste like pistachio aside from the pistachio crumble on top and was slightly dry. For just the chicharron and the mashed potatoes, I'd come here again. Our family of four went for an early Father's Day dinner in Saturday evening and all had the Prix Fixe Special. Had the lobster bisque and creamy onion soup, Korean BBQ wings (3) and Garlic Shrimp (3), Filet Kawi, Honey Beer Salmon and Poblano Mahi Mahi. For dessert we had Creme Brûlée and the Bread Pudding. So I did not get a chance to take pictures of this meal however, I wish I had. The restaurant decor is really nice and clean. The service was really good. I honestly was really impressed with the prices on the menu and all the food that came out was really good except for the steak itself. It was a very low quality steak. It was cooked well however the steak quality was something you would expect at Denny's. My husband and I pass his establishment many times, so I decided for us to go and have a lunch date there which I think was a great decision because of the service, the food, and the price. We pretty much walked in around noon, was sat immediately and had the pleasure of being service by a young gentleman and his trainee. We decided to order the lunch special, which was a three course meal for $22.95. I chose the lobster base along with my husband, and then our second course was Korean wings and pretty much a fancy way to say three shrimps and butter. All items were delicious. Then I ended up choosing the pasta and he end up choosing the steak with the side of mashed potatoes. Service was good and they brought out this wonderful bread with his pecan butter and OMG it was so good. Well. Here is how this started. Made a reservation through the website and never received a confirmation. After an hour called the restaurant and the lady put me on hold and had to check. Wow! We had a reservation. Went tonight and no one was at the main desk. Had to wait again! Now for the good - food is good and the atmosphere is really nice. I could not believe this is in a strip center! My filet was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Wedge salad is nothing special. Rolls were delicious! However they do not serve hot tea. Red Flame was our Sunday adventure this week. I made reservations for 2:15 and arrived around 2:10. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated promptly. I am a restaurant professional and have been the majority of my adult years. I say that to point out a very restaurant noticeable issue. I noticed a smell of bleach in the store which would have not been a major issue, but it wreaked of using a dirty mop in bleach water. Now to most that may not be noticeable, but it was to me. As a suggestion rinse the mop with clean water before each use that will correct the smell. Our server Jacob greeted us promptly with a professional attitude and a smile. We were served warmed rolls with oil and butter. They were awesome!! He offered use drinks and promptly grabbed them. The menus are very extensive but easily readable. We decided on two appetizers. Oyster Nachos, and Stuffed Jalapeño's. Both were presented and served well. We loved them. We also ordered salads. My wife had the house salad with balsamic, and I had the Caesar salad. They both were very good. For our entrees I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare, with mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. My steak was cooked spot on and stayed hot throughout the dinner. The last slice still had smoke coming from it. My mashed potatoes and mushrooms were great. My wife ordered the sea bass. She loved it, with the asparagus. The presentation of both meals was awesome. My wife went to the restroom and she said it was very clean and well stocked. I think the landscaping in the front of the restaurant needs to be updated. The floor was a little sticky, but seemed to be clean. The decor is simple and not over the top. If you want good food, at a fair price give Red Flame in Magnolia a try. read more

We came for the lunch menu but due to it being on a Saturday we had to have brunch. The brunch menu was decent. I got the French toast with steak eggs and potatoes. I will start off with service since that was the bad part. We did go on what I can assume is a busy night, also this was our first time. I will speak to what I had, but I'll add, my wife had completely different choices, so I'll just stick with mine. I did try all of hers, we both liked what each other had. Lobster bisque- large chunks of lobster in a creamy bisque soup. Hands down incredible. The lobster flavor was there, but not incredibly overpowering. I thought they were good but not worth the money. They were too small for the price I paid. I wouldn't order them again. With the tacos, I got a extremely small order of refried beans, black. There were no more than two spoonful of beans on the plate. The taste was OK but the portion size was extremely small also. Came here during the holidays with my husband for dinner. The service was great. The "chimichurri" they served with the bread was awful. It tasted like vinegar. The bread however was very good. We had the shrimp appetizer, recommended by the server which was amazing. We both ordered the ribeye which was cooked perfectly and delicious, served with the lump crab and crawfish sauce. The only complaint I have here is the green beans were barely cooked. Still extremely crunchy. I don't think I'd even say this was Al dente. Overall, I would come back. Great steaks! read more

What a great restaurant steakhouse! Where do I start? We loved the crab cake which included a hearty scallop on top. My citrus salad dressing was one of my favorites I'm had as were the yeast rolls! OMGosh they are so good with the cinnamon butter, yum! One of us got the Pananha steak and he raved about how tasty it was. I have to also mention the fresh cut Fries which are kinda perfection. So overall an excellent meal. Neska took great care of us and was friendly and helpful with the menu. Sounds like the Beef Wellington is a big hit here but we didn't try it this visit. Inside is very nice but it's tucked away in a strip mall but don't be deceived, this is a very worthy steak dinner experience, with fair pricing. The Yelp high ratings are legit. read more

A friend of mine covers the dining scene in the far North, particularly in The Woodlands and Spring, and his recc's have never let me down. I saw a recent posting of his of a "chimichurri burger" at a place in Magnolia called Red Flame Steak & Grill, and I've been lusting for that burger ever since. It only took me about a day to find it, at Red Flame's new outpost in Katy (3211 Peek Rd. on the Grand Parkway Feeder), and here, my husband and I also found one of the most enjoyable restaurants we've eaten at this year. GPS was showing our arrival to be not long before closing, and I called ahead to make sure that would be OK. The friendly host told us to please come in and that they would be waiting. We found a gorgeous, high-ceilinged, meticulously decorated space with a mesmerizing bar that glowed like lit amber. Tables are set with red and white tablecloths, and lighting and music are perfectly tempered to a soothing ambiance. They had clearly finished with the dinner rush, but our handsome server Dani, decked out in a sexy leather waistcoat, assured us they'd stay open as late as we wanted. He took amazing care of us the entire night. A basket of fresh-baked pillowy rolls appeared with whipped honey pecan butter and an herbal olive oil blend. I could have eaten the entire basket and given the place stellar rankings just based on the bread, but the meal kept getting better and better. They have an exceptional cocktail and wine list, and on several days (including Sundays), they offer half-price on their already decent prices for bottles. We started with an appetizer of chicharrones and guacamole, but these are not your run of the mill pork rinds. Instead, a huge mound of fresh-prepared guac is surrounded by large chunks of succulent chicharrones of ribeye. Also with the platter arrive homemade blue corn tortillas and an ass-kicking salsa. This is not the first time we'll be ordering this spectacular app. For entrees, I of course had the burger, topped with smoked bacon, cheddar, and a layer of chimichurri. Even the bun is made fresh in the kitchen daily. On the side are excellent hand-cut fries. My husband had a juicy, excellent quality picanha served with more of those fries and a generous helping of giant mushrooms sauteed simply and perfectly with butter, white wine, and garlic. I noticed immediately that prices here are considerably less than similarly-situated steak houses. The menu features a lot of variety, including many seafood dishes. Dani assured us that the $22 executive lunch is one of the best deals in town, too. Mangolia and Katy are quite a haul for most of us, but until the owners of Red Flame can be persuaded to bring this delightful concept to the Inner Loop, we and I and I hope many more will happily make the trip. read more

We've not had a great run with restaurants lately. I'm sure we're not the only ones who've seen that the standard for eating out has plummeted lately. While I understand that food and labour costs have skyrocketed, if you can't fulfil your commitment to customers you're not doing yourself any favours... Enter Red Flame Steak & Grill Katy. It's not the best location but I promise you it's worth the visit. The standard here did not just meet, but exceeded every expectation. The staff are professional and attentive, and every bite was better than the last. We have been twice in the past 2 weeks. We've ordered the Guacamole Chicharrones (a must), Gambas al Ajillo (excellent, and not too spicy), Center Cut Filet Mignon (a steak I would put up against any other steakhouse in Texas), and now the Kentucky Bourbon BBQ Burger (a quality steak burger at an international level). Save room for dessert as the churros were also a must. Worth noting that they do have a select number of beers on draft, and any wine you order will be at the perfect temperature. They are a new establishment. Give them a go. For anyone concerned about the prices - I challenge you to complain about them here. read more
