Went in for lunch today with husband, everything was just as expected. Service was exceptional, everyone kept checking up on us and tending to our needs. It was nice the staff serving meats to us took care and didn't spill on us (another Brazilian steakhouse kept dripping/splashing meat juices on us), and our server even served us the sides on our plate (even though I could've done it myself... the gesture was nice). We decided to celebrate our anniversary at Gauchos, and what an incredible experience it turned out to be! While the salad bar was fresh and plentiful and the steaks varied (some absolutely outstanding), what truly stood out was the exceptional service. I genuinely can't stop thinking about it! From the moment we sat down, everything was seamless and the bread appeared on our table instantly, and when we stepped away for just a minute to check out the salad bar, our iced teas were already waiting when we returned. The servers were so attentive that our drinks were constantly refilled and the meats kept coming without us ever having to ask. Every detail was handled so quickly and efficiently, it felt effortless. Truly impressed by the staff! The restaurant is only about 10 minutes away, which makes it even better AND we can't wait to return and bring our family next time. Chama Gaucha used to be our go-to, but honestly, this place checks all the boxes especially the short distance. The Brazilian lemonade was AMAZING, but the meats were a big letdown. Out of all the many options,, only two meats stood out as good, while the rest, including the lamb chops, lacked flavor. Go hungry! I had the pleasure of enjoying dinner here with some friends. Once the green card is up and the salad bar has been visited the food is non stop. I felt like people were coming from every direction every minute with new food to try. The meat is delicious, seasoned and prepared well. The place is beautiful and our reservation time was perfect as there was still not a lot of people inside dining or waiting. We very seated immediately. We had the worst service. Our server was not friendly and rather dry but the worst part, he would forget absolutely everything. We had to continuously flag him down and ask for things multiple times. I asked twice for my coke zero after our table had received cocktails. They bring cheese bread which was delicious and we had to ask four times for a second basket, I repeat four times because our server would simply not bring it. We had to ask other servers for things such as new plates, beverages and of course the cheese bread. We love a great steak and found this was not the right place for good quality and great tasting steak. The meats were not flavorful and surprisingly not as many options as we were expecting. The medium cuts were overcooked. The salad bar was okay but not as many options as other places with salad bars. What I enjoyed the most here we're items from the salad bar such as the blue cheese and lobster bisque. Pretty pricey dinner for blue cheese and lobster bisque. If you just want to stuff yourself with all you can eat meat this is your place, the price will be worth it. If you care about the quality and taste of your meat, for the price there are plenty of steakhouses in Houston. The service could have helped our experience a little but we did not even enjoy that. Me and wife had to try this establishment. The outside of the restaurant is amazing but once you enter it decorated beautifully. We were sat out table it was a little dark but the ambience was great. The waiting staff was excellent, our guy was on it and many others also. The salad spread was amazing lots of great foods to choose from but don't eat too much roughages, leave room some protein. Me and my family went out to try the katy branch of guachos for we always go to the one at the vintage, since the vintage is a good restaurant we decided to try out the katy one. We had reservation and everything for we are about to celebrate my sister's birthday. We continued with our dinner, everything was smooth but my mom (who doesnt eat any pink on her meat) only asks for well done. At first we asked for it, they were already kinda judging my mom which I thought was a joke but the servers tone was very insulting. They still went ahead and try to get it but, it took forever to come. We asked for 5 different meats to get well done but only 1 came. Then whenever we try to follow up the meats they would say "It's coming" but never did. Another thing is when they were giving us the ribeye, We were telling the server who is cutting the meat just a little bit and he kept giving us these huge slices. This didnt just happened once or twice but it happened for the whole table where in everybody says "just a little bit". My brother in law even said "thats good enough" and the server had the audacity to say "Oh but I already cut it" as if its my brother in law's fault?? then he still went on to give the meat as well. I requested some stuff too like the pineapple and I had to request it 3 times and they already took our plates, so it never came We didn't wanna ruin our night so we went ahead and just asked for the bill. I love giving tips since I myself works in a customer service industry as well. I know all the hard work they have done, but 20% ADDED GRATUITY for our bill is not up to par with our experience. I know it might be automatic for having a big party that night, but all I know is that it was the least amount of effort ive seen for customer service. This is the worst service Ive ever seen. Before I start off with the food, may I mention how amazing service is here? Everyone is so attentive and so nice. Staff pulled out seats for us, always made sure we were taken care of, and just went beyond. It was an amazing experience. The salad bar was delicious! I got so full fast off the salad bar though, but I couldn't help it. They had a variety of salads, breads, meats, fruits, and vegetables. I really enjoyed the Parmesan eggplant. We had a variety of beef cuts, shrimp, chicken, and not to mention grilled pineapples! It just paired so well with the meats. Don't forget the honey and cheese! Wow I had to have gotten 2-3 of that! So good. There was tons of seating and this would be a great spot for a date or for celebrations. My boyfriend really enjoyed their old fashioned, and I opted for the frozen flight! Have been here twice and both times the food and salad bar were amazing! The picanha steak and the Gauchos steak were our favorites. The grilled pineapple is delicious as well. And I would put this restaurant on par with any high-end Brazilian churrascaria (e.g. Fogo de Chao). The service was terrific. There were managers visibly walking the floor throughout the evening -- and even stopping by our table. We never had to wait for meat. In fact, we had to flip our little green/red service cards over more than once just to catch up. My nephew's favorites were the beef ribs, and the bottom sirloin. We both really liked the gaucho steak. The filet mignon melted in your mouth. It's tempting to fill up on all the delicious fresh items on the salad bar including cold boiled shrimp, cheese, olives, and roasted vegetables. I definitely look forward to visiting the spot again. I never manage to get and pictures of the meat options but they are good. The salad bar is huge and they also offer other options like bacon and seafood appetizers. Was there Sunday night with wife and daughter. I have to give kudos to the floor manager. Food was good as usual salad bar was great. But it seems daughter had an upset stomach so she didn't really eat. She asked waiter if she could take food on her plate home because her stomach was upset, waiter deferred the floor manager, and he said no as it is Restaurant policy. I explained to her that at buffets and places like that they don't allow take home as too many people would abuse the privilege. We all understood and went on to finish our meal. At the end of the meal when they brought the bill, the floor manager said that he was taking her meal off the bill as she didn't really eat. We didn't expect it, but we're very grateful. Spiffy is a great word to describe this place. The entire facility is very well done, clean and elegant that yells out "Its expensive to eat here!". Coming in at nearly $70 a person, you got to save up to stuff yourself silly for one meal. The restaurant functions like any other Brazilian steak house, where you turn your sign to green, to fill up the meat options, or turn it red to stop. You'll notice the salad bar is filled with really premium items, such as artichoke hearts, large peeled cocktail shrimps, candied bacon, smoked salmon and others. However, most of what you are paying for are on the premium, bbq meats the servers bring about. I elected to try a good majority of it and I am not particularly a fan of most. Mostly because almost every piece I received was well done, sometimes dry which came out crispy and tough, while other pieces were well flavored but entirely way too big. Some even fill up half my plate for ONE cut of meat (Beef rib slice). My ultimate favorite was the Texas "Kobe beef". Very tender, juicy and very lightly marinated to reveal the full beef flavor. Don't get me wrong, things here taste great, but I wish there were more consistency on textures and portion sizes given. $70 is a huge a mount of money for food. On top of some over charred beef options, my experience could have been better for the pricing. I don't plan of coming back, but I wouldn't rule it out. Next time, I would focus on medium rare cuts of meat and really focus on that Texas 'Kobe' beef. read more
