Came here Late afternoon for Valentine's Day and this place was crazy packed . Made a reservation and was seated quickly with no wait. Their salad bar is one of the best ones I had out of any Brazilian steakhouse restaurants. They also offer grilled pineapple w a touch of cinnamon (my favorite) as part of their meat selections. My top meats to get would be their bottom sirloin and filet mignon. We also got 2 desserts to end the night with! Definitely recommend coming here for special occasions read more

Update: so we went to Gaucho's last night for Valentine's Day because my husband has been craving it and really wanted to go there. We made reservations for 7 PM. This is our 5th visit to this location, and we have always thought it superior to other Brazilian steakhouses. But last night we were somewhat disappointed. And maybe it was a location of our table, from now on I will definitely request to be in the main dining room, because I felt like being off in either of those little side rooms, you're just not getting as much meat selection because things aren't making it to you. We saw the pineapple one time. We didn't see the sausage until an hour and a half of being there, when we were about to leave and had already taken our plates. And we kept watching them rotate things that we would like through the main dining room, but by the time it got to where we were seated, they were empty. it seems like the majority of things that came by were the bottom sirloin and the shrimp. My two least favorite. We inquired about the pineapple, because when he finally did come in there, he walked right past our table, even though my flag were green (my husbands was red, so please look at all people's!), so we had to get our waitress to bring him back over there. Sides weren't delivered to the table until after we had been there for about 20 minutes and had already been served meats, I was kind odd starting to wonder if we had to request them now. Our waitresses and waiters were great. Absolutely no complaint on the service. I just felt like where we were seated, We kind of got the shaft on the better cuts and variety. I know that they rotate some of the meat items but the shrimp this time are not great. however, the chicken Parmesan was amazing and I wanted more, but they never came back around with it. I also felt like the fried polenta was a little bit dense compared to usual. I guess what I'm saying all in all is: we were really excited, but we were kind of let down last night and I don't know if it was busy from being a holiday, or if that's just kind of the new norm. read more

I've been to the location in Vintage Park as well, but this newest Katy location tops! We attended a wedding reception dinner here, and it was so lovely! From the private party room setup, to the quick and friendly wait staff, it was a nice place to have a beautiful event. The unlimited food-- amazing! The salad buffet bar is so fresh and you have lots of options, I especially loved the burrata cheese with honey and the crisp wedge salad. Brazilian Cheese bread is also delicious and melt in your mouth soft. The steaks, my favorite cut is hands down the picanha (house special). It is sliced thinly and so juicy and flavorful, make sure to dip it in some chimichuri! The drinks were also perfectly crafted, I ordered an espresso martini and it was great. I am stuffed! Just finished a great dinner. I started with a Flor de Cana 18 on the rocks. The Mrs had the Gauchos Rebecca house bourbon, and she enjoyed it. For reference, her collection favorites are Knob Creek 12, Angels Envy Rye, and Whistle Pig 10yr Rye. She didn't give me any tasting notes. Everyone was super friendly. Great attitude! A bit more expensive than other similar places, but they scrape the table, and they place your napkin or push in a ladies chair if they catch it. The manager even grabbed a plate from our table. If you are thirsty or left wanting, it's not on them. My favorite in flavor and texture was the NY Strip and the Mrs liked the ribeye best and kobe beef best. She also enjoyed the shrimp on the bar and off the grill, and I really enjoyed the flavor of the Picanha. Didn't have anything we didn't like. The chimichurri wasn't the best I have ever had, but it was good. Seemed like just oil and fresh parsley. I make my own, so I am partial. Now, lets talk about that grilled cheese and honey. Actually I can't.......get....enough..... Once we were stuffed we ordered a cappuccino and shared a cheesecake with crème brûlée topping, smothered in flaming Sambuca. We ordered a side of fresh berries, which was perfect with the cheesecake and rolled around in the extra Sambuca. If you order the cheesecake AND you don't get the Sambuca AND you don't get the berries, thats on you. About $260 for 2 meals, sparkling water, 2 top shelf spirits, 2 coffees, 1 dessert with 2 upgrades, and a tip. read more

It was around the holidays, so it was beautifully decorated inside. It's a nice restaurant. Definitely come hungry, they have a decent salad bar but almost felt more like finger foods, they had meats, cheeses, plantains, rice and chips. One little side salad in a wedge with cheese and dressing on it. Not really your typical salad bar but it was something. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much, the main event all the meat. Each cut I got was not really consistently cooked medium well as requested. More well done or almost more of the rare side which I don't eat. Some of the meats were really fatty with chunks of fat more than others and not as flavorful as I would have thought. How expensive it was is not worth it to me, unfortunately I will not be back. read more

I decided to bring my wife here for our 32nd anniversary and we were highly disappointed on the service and treatment that we received from staff. From the moment we walked in the hostess was rude with a bad attitude. I was early for my reservation so we sat at the bar for a few minutes the lady behind the bar was really nice about the only nice person there. When we did get our table the service was not any better the salad bar was small and not much of a selection compared to other Brazilian steakhouses we have tried. The gauchos walking around passed us up more times than we had been served my wife asked for specific meats three times and all three times they never brought it when they did bring it the meat was burnt or dried out the bacon wrapped steak she got was burnt to a crisp they should have known to take that off the skewer than to serve it the shrimp was a little bit salty and the meat selection wasn't very good but then again when our card is on green and the gauchos keep going past you and not stopping to see if you want anything that's what you get. (Must be to busy looking at the half dressed woman) the service needs improvement no matter who is being served. As far as the ambiance in this place it was a little too dark for me it could have been a bit more bright inside. This was my first time here and my last time here hopefully this place improves on service if not the Brazilian steakhouse they're building down the street will take all their business , and that one will be a closer drive for me. read more

First off, plan to spend $68/ plate plus drinks and desserts. That being said, the food was amazing! The service was second to none. We have been on Cruise Ships that didn't have the service we received here. Each and every one of the staff was exceptional! No one lagged behind on service. They pulled your chair out for you each time you got up and came back to your seat. Our tea glasses never got below half a glass. The food came really quick unlike other Brazilian Steakhouses we have been to where you may wait 10 minutes between meats. My wife likes her steaks well done. I have no complaints about, but the only thing I have to say is the price you paid for 2 people is expensive. I love this kind of place and wish they had a senior menu that perhaps was not so much food, and had certain time frames for seniors to come eat at a senior discount, as it's very expensive for retired seniors to eat there. On top of that they added 20% tip.. when trying yo explain to the manager it was not up to 20% tip due to the service provided the manager got an attitude and even aggressive in front of my 3 young kids. We had such a great experience here at Gauchos!! From the walk into the restaurant, everything was immaculate from the esthetics or the salad bar to the ambience of the place. The salad bar was so pretty that I didn't even want to touch it. Gauchos is similar to Fogo, but more personable. Our waitress was the best!! The manager was friendly and kept checking in on the table. We were asked if there were any specific meats that we wanted them to bring to the table. The staff was very attentive. This was a great meal! I was super excited to try this restaurant as it recently opened here in Katy. The salad bar was great! There were salads, olives and other pickled veggies, steamed asparagus, quartered avocados, fresh fruit, LOBSTER BISQUE, Brazilian rice, sautéed mushroom, grilled squash and zucchini, some cold salads like crab salads and cucumber salad, smoked salmon, charcuterie meats, and fancy cheeses and breads. That was a great way to start the meal. We also got the Brazilian cheese bread Pão de queijo, mashed potatoes, and fried plantains. Then the meats came. Bottom sirloin, ribeye, picanha, filet mignon, top sirloin but one has a cap of fat- this was very good too, Kobe beef, lamb chop, leg of lamb, Parmesan chicken, chicken leg, grilled shrimp, beef ribs, baby back pork ribs, pork sausage, grilled pineapple, and grilled cheese. My favorites were the bottom sirloin, leg of lamb, and the grilled cheese. They topped the grilled cheese with honey and oh my gosh it was amazing!! My husband LOVED the beef rib too. My favorite from the salad bar was the lobster bisque and there was a cheese with wine infused both were amazing! We ordered a bottle of Cabernet which was good and we tried the Brazilian lemonade. The lemonade was soooooo good. I think this is totally worth the price but know this is not a cheap meal. We had a party of 2 and it came to $230 and some change after tax and tip. I'm so disappointed at this restaurant , I'm a huge fan of Brazilian Steak House, and when this one open up near my house , I figure I would give it a try . The atmosphere was nice but the steak was very lacking . The only good cut was the beef ribs . All the other cuts was lack in flavor . And the price was way over price . We had 4 people and the bill came out to $490, given we had 1 bottle of wine for $90. So even at $400 it is way over price for quality of foods. There are 2-3 other establishments that have better pricing for the quality of meat . read more

Came here for Father's Day meal with da family and I must say I'm impressed with both the food and service! Was a bit scared when I read the other reviews but I'm glad I kept my reservation. Not worth the price. I don't understand how this restaurant gets any good reviews. Whether you wanted your meat rare, medium rare, medium, etc. it was all carved off the same skewer and all looked the same. I tried every piece of meat they had, I did not finish a single piece as it was either over cooked, under cooked, too dry, didn't taste good, etc. The salad bar was ok, the best part of the dinner was the pineapple, which is sad to say about a steakhouse. At $70/person, I would've expected better cuts, better taste, etc. Whether you had your card flipped red/green, it didn't seem to matter, we were constantly bombarded with additional meats and it was extremely difficult to understand what they were saying for a multitude of reasons. If you want a steakhouse go to Perry's, McCormick & Schmick's, Fleming's, etc. instead. read more

We went on Valentine's Day 2/14/2024 for dinner with a reservation. Our first time at this Katy area restaurant. The positives: nice interior, good salad bar, wide selection of meats etc., dessert was included, the table waiters were attentive. The negatives: tacked on $10 per person for the holiday (no heads up on this), automatically charged 20% gratuity for a table of 4, there weren't enough servers circulating with the meats etc. so you could wait a long time for something in particular, the meats etc. themselves were on average only OK in flavor & quality. One server said he would return with something we wanted but he did not until we asked again then complained. We ended up paying a grand total of $105 per person (note: the only special drink we had was one glass of basic wine). Quite expensive. So, we tried this place but for us it definitely wasn't worth it (unanimous comment). We would have enjoyed dinner more and paid less at someplace like Taste of Texas or Perry's. FIrst time at Gauchos Do Sul and it didn't disappoint. I was part of a dinner outing with someone else and the food was outstanding. She opted for the meat side and I had the salad bar. Our server was Oscar and he was attentive, courteous, and helpful in us deciding which items on the menu to order or at least try. Interestingly it was only his 3 day but it seemed as if he was a seasoned pro as he was quick to tend to any requests we had. He was willingly offering plates for us to go back for 2nds, 3rds, and on and on. Of course we could also retrieve the plates ourselves so that was so thoughtful of him. Plus he was personable and quick to carry a conversation. It's hard to believe Friday was only his 3rd day. When I got back I'll make sure to ask for Oscar. The salad bar is second to no one. I recommned Gauchos open during lunch since the salad bar is the best in the Houston area. read more
