12.20.25 First let me say we have never been here before. We came here with some friends for dinner. The parking is a bit challenging. The whole parking lot is valet for tips. We did not know this, but now we do. The restaurant is quite large and they have large party tables in the back. (There was 17 of us) The waitstaff were incredible! Even with a large party it was great! Our drinks never went empty. We had wine, tea, cocktails, and Brazilian lemonade, which was fantastic!! So smooth and refreshing! The vegetable/salad bar had so many wonderful foods to choose from. Everything we got was top notch! The asparagus, salmon, small grilled potatoes, green beans were unbelievable. Everything was full of flavor and not overcooked. Ok now let's talk about the meat! Shrimp, sirloin and prime rib are what I choose. I passed on the chicken wings even though they looked yummy and some other meats. All the meats were cooked just the way I liked it. Everything was great. We had dessert as well, I had banana foster. It was good but not great. I think I would try a different one next time. All in all we had the BEST time here. We will definitely be returning here!!!! This is a MUST try place! (I forgot to take photos of our dinner-next time)

A m a z i n g! As someone who has gone to Brazil for an extended stay I can say Chama Gaúcha is a real experience and representation of Brazil! While taking a break from My no meat lifestyle I decided to give it try on My birthday and it did not disappoint. Let's start with My favorite part of the restaurant! - the salad bar which has so many hot and cold options to choose from. My go to is the roasted potatoes, avocado dish and shrimp cocktail. There is soups , salad varieties, and so much more. Next is the actual table experience. Anyone like playing red light / green light?! Given a card to leave on the table when ready for endless steak, shrimp, chicken, lamb You flip over to green. When You'd like to take a pause flip the card over red. Theres also waiters frequently stopping by to ensure You have all the sides necessary to accompany the meat varieties. From delicious white rice, mashed potatoes, plantain, and cheese bread better known as Pão de queijo The drinks are also worthy of mentioning. I've tried the native drink which is called Caipirinha made of rum. It's not My fave but worth trying. I'm sure it's made best on the beach of São Paulo. The margaritas on the other hand are delicious! Passion fruit is good but strawberry is the best imo. The bartenders bring the bar to Your table and will make anything of Your choice! I love that They have aged whiskies available upon request. I went during dinner time which I believe has a different price than the afternoon. If I'm not mistaken there is also the option to only partake in the salad bar. All together for two I believe our bill was about $200 including 3 drinks. As You enter the restaurant there is a bar and patio area separate from the dining area. There's also private rooms attached to the dining areas. It is located on westheimer near the galleria area and there is valet parking.

The food quality, service and ambiance were great. We were celebrant daughter's 17 birthday and the whole family had a great time. The quality and the freshness of the food was excellent. We enjoy how all the wait staff worked so well together. Also, managers stopped by to ask how things were which was a great touch.

We went for lunch and made the right choice. Restaurant is very spacious and I found it nicely decorated. The service was really great and although you have a server, everyone is there to assist. We were sitting close to the salad bar and they had really good options, including lobster bisque. We ordered drinks, which were very good. I believe they were Caipirinhas. The meat was excellent. I enjoyed the lamb, steak, chicken, shrimp! It was all Delicious. I definitely recommend. We had zero complaints about our experience. They have a really nice atrium as well, it's next to the bar and we got some good pictures there.

Recently went back to Chama Gaucha after not going for 7 years. I have not been to a Brazilian steak house for so long, but I was in the mood for my birthday. Wow. I don't know why I stopped coming. We had the most incredible experience. The restaurant has changed so much, but the food is still amazing. This is still the best Brazilian steak house in Houston in my humble opinion. The service was a 10/10. They were so sweet, quick, and attentive. The managers walking the floor were just amazing. They should be applauded for how great they were. We brought our baby, and she luckily behaved and ate the fresh cheese bread which was delicious. We got a pitcher of the Brazilian lemonade and wow I am dying to already go back. I guess we have not been to a Brazilian steak house in so long due to so many other restaurants opening up in Houston. But I'm glad we went back and tried our original favorite. The ambiance and inside vibe is much better than I remember. It's lit up well, not too dark and not too loud. It was perfect for the occasion. The items we got- - Filet mignon - 9/10 - Garlic steak 10/10 - Picaña steak- 8/10 - Lamb Chop- 10/10 - Top sirloin- 10/10 - Cheese bread- 10/10 - Salad Bar- delicious!!! -Mashed potatoes - served at the table also 10/10 - Complimentary crème brûlée for my birthday 73838/10 We will be returning!

Figs!!!! So most people go to Chama Gaucha for the endless cuts of meat. Picanha. Ribeye. Costela. Frango. Lamb chops. Green to keep the meats coming. Red to stop. For me, though, it's about the salads. Cheese, smoked salmon, artichoke hearts, hearts of palm, olives. Love the different salads, Brussels sprouts, beets, mushrooms and potatoes. Figs, figs, figs!! Love, love, love the caramelized figs! Fresh figs. Cut in half. Then caramelized. So good. We actually got a few plates, and a bowl, of figs for our extended family graduation celebration. Try not to fill up on the Brazilian cheese bread. Pao de Queijo. Simple and gluten free, these light and airy puffs are made from tapioca flour, milk, cheese, eggs and olive oil. Addictively delicious. And don't forget the lemonade. So refreshing. So good! Chama Gaucha. Meats, salads or figs. Green or red. Go for an amazing taste of Brazil.

I love Brazilian steakhouses, and I always go to them multiple times every year. Out of all the Brazilian steakhouses in the Houston area, Chama Gaucha really is the best one. I have been going to them for special occasions for over a decade, and they have never disappointed me. They have actually gotten even better every visit in every aspect. The interior is clean, modern, and upscale, and the service is always exceptional. I had a reservation for a party of 4 in my most recent visit, and we were promptly seated as soon as we arrived. They have a wide selection of tasty salads, vegetables, cheeses, sides, and other dishes, toppings, and sauces at the buffet area. One of my favorites is the lobster bisque (available at the buffet area) which is rich and flavorful. Their appetizers and side dishes that are served at the table are also amazing. I especially love the Brazilian cheesebreads and the caramelized bananas. I always have to get the Brazilian lemonade pitcher whenever I come to Chama Gaucha; the Brazilian lemonade is flavorful but not too sweet, which is the perfect non-alcoholic drink to accompany all the steaks. Moving onto the best part of Chama Gaucha: the meats. Every cut is super high quality, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, juicy, and delicious. You really can't go wrong with any cut that you choose. Some of my favorite cuts include the picanha, garlic beef, ribeye, bottom sirloin, and the filet mignon. They also serve other proteins such as lamb, chicken, and shrimps (also one of my favorites). If there is a specific cut or protein you're looking for, that can be requested as well. Because we went to celebrate a birthday for my recent visit, we were also served a complimentary slice of cake of choice. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was easily one of the best Tres Leches cakes that I've had so far. The cake was spongy, mildly sweet, and overall just extremely tasty.

Undercooked steak, flavorless chicken wing, Filet Mignon, Mashed Potato's, white rice

Overall ambiance was nice dimly lit, service was ok very attentive but were not able to cut the meat properly resulting in improperly doneness of the steak which was requested. Flavors were alright. Salad bar was excellent and fried bananas were a table favorite

Came here to celebrate a special occasion with a party of seven. The service was amazing with servers being attentive to our food needs. The place was accommodating when we asked them to store our own cake. Everything is clean and the meat is cooked to individuals preferences. There's a stand for personal bags and the servers pull open the chair for you. Everyone loved the food and service, could not have chosen a better place to gather. Will be back for special events! Would recommend the shrimp, mashed potatoes, and the cappuccino coffee for desert.

I'm not usually a fan of Brazilian steakhouses but this place is a step above the rest. What stood out to me is the sides! Most steakhouses offer cold sides and salads and things which I HATE. But Chama Gaucha has lobster bisque, Brussels sprouts (which some kind of sauce that was great!) a variety of potatoes, pork belly, and sautéed mushrooms. They were all so good!! As far as meats, I enjoyed some cuts more than others. Most lacked flavor or I'd seemed to receive a more cooked piece rather than the medium rare I desired. But they also have shrimp and chicken! My family enjoyed the shrimp. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was my grandmas birthday and they happily held her cake in the fridge until we finished our meal. They also cut it for us. Their staff was noticeably slow though. There's also a beautiful patio area that is very tropical garden like with tvs and hookah if you like that kind of thing. I really enjoyed it here I'll be back! :)

This is an extremely beautiful Brazilian steakhouse with amazing staff, that genuinely care about great service from the moment you enter. Until the moment you leave, went during lunch had a few old fashions which were incredible and of course hit the salad bar. Everything was fresh and tasty, as the meats came out they smelled amazing and taste even better. There was amazing flavor in every different cut and they were cooked to perfection!

    Giang T.

came back to Chama Gaucha on a weekday this time as usual :) and service was on a much much better level staff really made sure to ask us which cut/type of meat we would want after serving all cuts (def ask for the filet mignon, and picanha) ambiance is classic as always, very crowded despite it was a Wednesday very glad the restaurant is doing great and live up to its name!

Came here for a friend's birthday party. Parking is complimentary valet only with tips appreciated. The restaurant is quite large. The ambience was modern with warm lighting. All staff were kind and accommodating. This was my first time at a Brazilian steakhouse so I was pretty open minded to the concept. Each guest had a paper chip with one side green the other side red. Green meant to keep bringing food and red meant stop. They served mini bread at the table. I did not try it, but it smelled good. Majority of the guest at the table ordered side cars and Brazilian lemonade. Once everyone showed up we stood in line for the salad and sides buffet. A major downside was no placards were visible to tell you what dish was what. One of the party guest had a seafood allergy so she was very leary as to what dish had what. Needless to say she didn't try many sides. There was no hand sanitizer before touching the serving utensils either. There was no clear direction as to how to proceed around the buffet so a lot of patrons were confused and the line was long. I had the arugula salad from the salad bar and that was it. The other sides did not look appetizing to me. The arugula salad was amazing and fresh. Once at the table waiters served sides from a bowl. No sides or meats were stationary at the table. If you enjoyed a particular side/meat you had to wait for them to bring the dish around again. They served mashed potatoes which were delicious, charred mozzarella cheese, Parmesan crusted chicken, chicken wings, bacon wrapped filet mignon, steak, lamb, and shrimp. I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb, bacon wrapped filet mignon, steak, and the Parmesan crusted chicken. It was hard to get a refill on water once the waiters came out with the food. I asked three different people for water and the last person came back with a pitcher of water to replenish the table. It took a long time to get the bill, because there were twenty five people at the table. They got several people's bill wrong due to confusion. If you had an alcoholic or a mocktail beverage those guest had written tickets that needed to be collected/added to their bill. Waiters were charging people who did not eat, but got a drink for the dinner price. This dinner was definitely expensive. Be prepared to pay $80 bucks or more for your dinner. Dinner fee was $64.95 per person, $5.36 food/non-alc tax, 20% automatic gratuity which was $12.99. Therefore I paid $83.30. People who had drinks bills were $100 plus. Side note the women's bathroom is small with 3-4 stalls for a large restaurant and is at the front of the restaurant. I would like to try this place again, but for lunch when it is possibly not as crowded.

What is included in the buffet price? Is the salad bar separately priced? How bout the cheese bread? Or the desert?

All the above EXCEPT desserts are included in buffet price.

Are you allowed to take cakes?

Cakes are allowed. They will put it in the back for you until you are ready for it to be served. They will even offer extra small plates and a knife.

    Is dessert included?

No dessert is not included in the buffet price. But they do have various options for you to choose from for an additional price. Also drinks are not included either in case you were wondering.

    Do the have patio dining?

Yes, there's an outside area that's closed off. It has fire pits as well.

    Is it halal?

    No ..... definitely not

Do they do parties like maybe of 12?

Under normal circumstances, yes they love parties of 12 or more. With the current situation with the Covid virus, I would call and ask first.

Does the happy hour menu include the salad bar?

The salad bar is included on the lunch and dinner menus at a discounted price.

Do they have a la cart menu too?

Yes they did. We didn't look at it , so I'm not sure if it is fixed or changed due to covid.

Yes, at a discount rate too.

Could I get the buffet to go? Like how some buffet places.. they give you a box and soup box or whatever.. to fill?

I don't believe they sell "by the pound". I do think you can buy a bag of the cheese bread and they do have a "bar menu" where you can just purchase a serving of the meats.

For the table side service, are the sides that are on that menu included in the $52.95 or are those paid for separate?

    Everything is included.

Are shrimp available in the lunch rotation?

    Yes they are

Can you just do the salad bar for dinner?

Yes, and it is at a lower price.

It's not a large restaurant, especially compared to some of the other Brazilian steakhouses. The service was good. Overall, we had a good meal. The common theme is that compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, the selection at the salad bar as well as the meat selection is a bit more limited. That said, I enjoyed everything I chose from the salad bar. Regarding the meat selection, there were a couple that stood out: the picanha and the rib-eye were both very good. Everything else was so-so (the filet mignon in particular was pretty tough for that cut of meat). That said, I would rather go to a restaurant that does a couple of things well vs. everything just okay. One thing to note. I don't know how they do it, but the price is significantly lower that their competition (like ~30-35% lower). When you factor that in, this restaurant is quite reasonable for what they offer.

Yes, you could get your meat cooked to your desired temperature. The salad bar was really nice, if you are NOT allergic you MUST try the crab salad!!!! This is not to say the other items in the salad bar aren't good but the carb salad was boss! They have a version of the wedge salad that is quite impressive. They have this beautiful shrimp skewer that was masterfully seasoned and grilled to perfection. Like Silk Sonic said in one of their songs "full of flavor". There are pictures of masterfully grilled Ribeyes, Skirt and other steaks. Pro tip don't allow the servers push you to eat too fast. Turn your card over indicating you do not want meat at the moment. I recommend this business. GN3

Such a cozy intimate setting. I admire the that Tourao offered complementary (tips) valet service which is definitely needed. Parking appeared limited. (I was excited to view Jordyn's soul food across the way) Love the music level, it was great, our table was next to the entertainment. One thing that was a nice hit was the music volume! (Theirs so many places that missed the mark, and devalue elegance with LOUD live performances). Tourao did great! Open salad bar was nice option with hot and chilled choices. Grill beef stew, Mac n cheese, mash potatoes, to chicken salad, and many others. Ordering the drinks which should've been so simple became a verbal game of tug-a-war with words. All 3 ladies requested ice water with plenty of lemons for the table. The server asked if I wanted lemonade. No. I just want lemons. He kept asking for any other beverage which we continued to decline. I reminded him of my lemons over half a dozen times. I even asked other individuals who visit the table. Our server mentions jokingly that the lemons are coming in from Mexico, must be. Cause damn. Finally got lemons after downing/eating a few plates. I can't drink tap water without lemons, so eating without a drink drove me temporally insane. Dessert was delight. We had the cheesecake it was pretty! The manager Mister Randy, was very nice and apologize for the flaws of the evening. He offered a shot a Brazilian rum. Which had a little spice. But a memorable moment for this sister's circle, it was our first shot of Brazilian Rum together. We normally don't drink but it was a great way to clean up the shortcomings of this first time visit. Checking out time. The server who didn't want to bring my lemons place the checkbook on me and ran off. Once he returned we requested 3 separate checks, again he placed ALL THREE BOOKS IN FRONT of me, sir half the place has depart, you not that damn busy. I observed the next table how the two ladies were handed their own ticket booklets we wasn't giving that same love. (They were just as brown as us, so it was nothing like that, I think maybe it was my height, yes I may appear to be 7 feet tall, but I'm all lady). Lol. We definitely depart feeling loved by the management and the performer. They felt like dining at our Brazilian family members home Our server was just that mischievous cousin. All in all, I'll try this place again, I like the a coziness & intimate setting. The table next to us was a couple on a special date with flowers and a suit. I admire seeing beautiful couples enjoying life. It make me want to have a date here, with flowers too.

We still had to wait 30 minutes. It was a Saturday night and Valentine's Day so it was busy and I get it. However, once we were sat, after nearly 2 hours, I only had about 6 pieces of meat. We didn't get offered half of the meat. Most of the meat we did get offered weren't even beef, mainly chicken, sausage, etc. Our cards were flipped to the green side the WHOLE time we were there, but servers were either skipping or just not even coming. Despite making eye contact. then, when we were offered certain meats, they would cut a slice for my s/o, but when it was my turn, the server would say "oh i have to get your cut from the back, I'll be right back" then never come back. This happened twice. By the 3rd time, i was clearly upset and that may have been the only reason the server actually came back that time. Our server also kept asking if we were just waiting on meat, in which we'd say yes just to still continue waiting. After THREE hours and still about 6 meats total, we requested the dessert menu - another 15 minutes just to get the menu to us. At this point, we ordered it and i asked to speak to the manager. I have never requested to speak to a manager at a restaurant before, that is how horrible this experience was. Again, had to wait for the manager to make his way to us. Once i explained to him my experience, his response in general was a very like "welp that sucks" attitude & didn't even seem really concerned. He offered to charge us as a "lite dinner" + drinks + dessert. Which I still dont even think is a fair resolution, because my dinner was their mashed potatoes, cheese bread, and 6 slices of meat. Even getting the check took time. God bless the host/hostess as they seem to be fighting for their life trying to get everyone seated. In the future, if there isn't availability, then they shouldnt be offering reservations they cannot honor. Will not be back and i definitely do not recommend the place.

We've…read moretried many of them around Houston -- and honestly, Avenida stands out as the best when it comes to meat quality and variety of cuts, especially compared to other well-known Brazilian steakhouses in the same price range like Fogo de Chão and Gauchos Do Sul. Besides the typical cuts like picanha, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, and lamb chops, Avenida also offers Wagyu steak, ribeye, NY strip, salmon, shrimp, and even lobster soup. I prefer my steaks medium rare, and the meat was incredibly tender. My favorites were the top sirloin, lamb chops, and filet mignon. The service was phenomenal. They don't play the usual games that many Brazilian steakhouses do by bringing out the cheaper cuts first to fill you up. Instead, they consistently walk around serving a wide variety of meats throughout the meal, which really elevated the experience. Honestly, the only thing holding this restaurant back is the interior design and exterior appearance. I can barely notice the restaurant while driving by because the outside signage and overall presentation don't stand out. Meanwhile, Fogo de Chão (in Katy for example) catches attention immediately because the building and interior feel upscale and polished. Avenida seriously has better meat quality in my opinion, but the restaurant could benefit greatly from renovating the interior, improving the lighting, and creating a more modern and inviting romantic vibe. The food and service deserve a much busier crowd.

I feel they should've prepared for the reservations and put limits or planned the seat turnover time accurately. It was the first day of restaurant week so I think I was just very patient that day lol. Food was delicious and included dessert as well. I really enjoyed the sides per usual I got full off the sides and tried to squeeze in as much room for meat. Picanha is always my favorite at any steakhouse. It also seemed like people without reservations were cutting in line since they knew the staff which was not the best feeling for the rest of us that had reservations. If I go back it definitely wouldn't be during restaurant week.

Time to Appetizers: 20 minutes Time to Entree: 25 minutes Arrived at 2:30PM on a Saturday and were directed to sit anywhere. We sat near the buffet, which was a bit unclear. There was a live guitarist/singer playing which was a fantastic vibe. A complimentary basket of four pieces of cheese bread was brought out, excellent way to start the meal! For two people, we ordered: 2x Coxinha (3.5/5): While the chicken is a tad dry, it's complimented well by the creamy sauce 1x Kibe (3/5): Reminded me of a meatball crossed with a falafel, like something you'd order on a skewer. Not too grainy and a nice smoky flavor. 1x Risole de Camarao (4.5/5): I thought this was a better version of the Coxinha. The shrimp flavor really permeates and reminds you of a shrimp risotto in a single bite. Churrasco Gaucho (16oz) (2/5): We decided to get this to sample all of the meats. Unfortunately I thought everything was really salty. Maybe it's characteristic of the Brazilian grilling style, because the smoky flavors did come through, but it just felt too salty for me on everything. Honestly maybe it just needed some kind of vegetable besides beans to help offset. Whatever their chili sauce is (5/5): I have no idea what this is but it reminds me of mashed up bird eye chili sauce..it's really good. Sprinkle it on everything. Helps with the saltiness of things. Milk Flan (4/5): A rich custard style of flan, thick and very sharable. Not too sweet. I liked this as a great palate cleanser. Service was really prompt and friendly. Paid via inKind with no issues.
