This restaurant is always clean and the staff welcoming. We were seated and greeted by Karle. We've dined with her several times and she is always friendly and attentive. My favorite thing to order as an appetizer is the fried zucchini however, you do generally have to do this as a special request and wait to see if they are able to serve them. We generally luck out. We frequently go for lunch or early dine. They are great portions at excellent prices. I ordered the lunch grilled chicken with a baked sweet potato while my son had the lunch grilled chicken with sautéed mushrooms and broccoli. Karle was attentive throughout the meal. Lunch Menu changed. I got Sirloin and shrimp, as the filet mignon was removed from lunch menu. The filet was good last time, but the sirloin was barely edible, no flavor, it looked good, but tasted like dry cardboard and cooked medium rare. The shrimp was grilled, it was OK. I would not order this again. Brussel sprouts were good and the salad was fresh. Bread was ok. The service was good, but I had to wait for my water to be refilled by the manager. Came here with my mom and brother for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were greeted and seated right away, and there was a good amount of people dining. We skipped on the appetizers and enjoyed their complimentary bread and butter. As far as food goes, I went with the Cajun ribeye medium rare, potato soup, and Mac n cheese as my sides. The steak came out cooked perfectly for me, and the Mac was really tasty. The soup was solid as well but came out separately before the rest of the food. I'll specify that I want it all together next time. I ate up all my food and the steak was really good too. My mom ordered a chicken plate that she liked and really loved the potato soup. My brother ordered a regular Ribeye with mac n cheese and a salad and really loved his. He especially loved the mac but the steak as well. The ambiance was pretty calm considering how many people were there, which I liked. Our waitress Katherine did a great job serving us. 11/8/2025: Saltgrass Steak House is a great place to get multiple items and they're always spot on with consistency. If dining with a group, everyone can find something they enjoy. I like the Hickory Chicken. It's no longer on the menu, but if you ask they will make it for you. Typically, it needs to be a chef who has been there for a while to know how to make it. I ordered it the other night and it was spot on! It's a chicken breast covered in cheese, barbecue sauce, bacon, and mushrooms. I get mine with no onions. It is so good, I'm always surprised. They took it off the menu. The night we went, the waitress had already had two other people order it, so I know it's not just me. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, and I was thoroughly happy with my meal. The manager came over and checked on us twice. That's always a nice touch. I ordered the filet mignon with the seasoned green beans, 7/10. It was okay. They also brought their house seasoning which was pretty good. The green beans were great! The tortilla soup was mid. We ordered almost $100 worth of food yesterday for my Mother's Day. When I arrived there was no place to park none. Place was so overly packed that people were sitting outside. Has to be some sort of fire violation inside this place when I finally got in it was crammed packed. I pulled up called inside for them to bring me my food as I said and I told her there's no parking spots. She dispatched me to the pick up counter who never answered I hung up. I called again as I'm parked in front of the place at the don't park fire part, she said ohhh you should be fine parking at the front of the place for a few minutes. By law you are not supposed to park at the red place. They should have brought my food out since people were parked in the pickup spots as well. When I walked inside I was not greeted at all not by all 3 women I finally had to say something. She showed me where to pick up my food as I got up to the counter a man was leaving and the woman who was working back there middle aged Caucasian short hair was rolling her eyes at the man as he walked away she didn't see me because she jumped as I seen her mid eye roll. She gave me my food and said enjoy and I walked away. When I went to the front I told the 3 women that the lady is rolling her eyes at everyone coming up to get their food. I don't know who the owner is but when I talk to these women they just stare and don't say anything I had to repeat myself for them 3 to say we'll talk to her. If we're all paying over $100 to dine at this place at least we could get is manners. Walked out to my car also my Caesar salads had lettuce and croutons. Nothing else no cheese nothing. So let's do a recap no parking made to park illegally your employees don't want to their jobs. Not one of your employees greeted me as they are supposed to and you get your eye eyes rolled at you when you're picking up your hundred dollar meal if the place is getting packed people should've been turned back and told that they can't eat here if you can't accommodate me picking up my order then cut it off online. read more

We ate there last night, even at 5pm it was very busy and we were lucky to get a table after waiting only 20 minutes. As always, the staff was super courteous and helpful. But the food was very disappointing. Both our baked potatoes were mostly not edible due to being way undercooked. And my sirloin was way undercooked and very tough. Salt grass has several locations throughout Houston that I have visited This one is in the Cypress area. I have visited a couple of time with one of my friends as he comes a lot. The last time I had the hamburger steak, Mac and cheese and potato soup. All were prepared very well and very tasty. I also had one of their Tito's lemonade that was delicious. As long as I've lived over here, I've never hit this Saltgrass up. Primarily visited the location in Willowbrook for lunch. But the crowd here is always bumping, I'll say that. The chicken laredo has always been my go to. It's so delicious, used to only be like 13 on the lunch/early dining menu...seriously not that long ago. Now it's no longer available for lunch and $21. Has the price of yard bird gone up that much? Anyway this visit was similar to my main location. Same vibe, service was standard. I choose a steak with brussel sprouts. I have been eating at saltgrass steak houses since their opening in 1991 as the guest of the legendary Maudeen Marks (Maudeen's center cut Filet) and have been a loyal customer ever since, but what happened today was absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable. I will start by saying that my server was absolutely amazing and was the only reason I did not walk out in the middle of my meal. As always, I ordered a 16 ounce Pat's ribeye, medium rare, when it came out, it was absolutely purple on the inside, so my waitress went back and had them cooking another steak, which came out well done and with so much salt that it would've given me a heart attack so the manager came over and said that she would go back and personally pick a steak for me and make sure it was cooked properly when the manager personally brought out the third steak I cut through the center and it was tough but a least medium rare, but. There was so much connective tissue in it that at least 4 ounces of the 16 ounce ribeye was nothing but gristle, and the outer pieces were still purple, for this inconvenience she offered me a dessert to make up for the poor steak, but with a $50 price tag it left a horrible taste in my mouth and frankly I didn't want to eat anything else that they had to serve by that time an hour and a half and I was there by myself, the manager never came back by to check on how things were. my poor server could do nothing but apologize over and over and as I said early on in this review, she was as sweet and attentive as you could possibly ask for, actually one of the best weight staff experiences I've ever had there. I guess I should have paid attention to the three star rating that it had here on yelp, but I always like to try things for myself and after tonight, I would say it is the absolute worst saltgrass steakhouse I've ever been to which is saying a lot. I will spare you a picture of the disgusting food that I was served tonight although I do have it on my phone the Southwest Freeway location the I 10 location and the Shepherd location and the I 45 north location and the Galveston location, have all been amazing in the last few years, this is the only location that I've had this kind of an experience with.
