Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was super packed. There was a nice patio on the outside. We ordered the eggrolls, breakfast meatballs, and a union kitchen bowl. It was okay. Maybe it was just those dishes because their food looks delicious! The service was phenomenal!! They consistently checked on us and the food was quick.

The eatery offers a broad range of dishes -- from brunch favourites like the steak breakfast burrito and truffle mac & cheese to dinner fare including steaks, chops and seafood. It strikes a nice balance between casual and a little elevated, making it suitable for family dinners, brunch with friends or a more relaxed date night. Dishes like the crab & tuna tower and lobster grilled cheese get positive mentions for flavor and freshness. I'd give The Union Kitchen in Houston a very strong 4 out of 5. It's a dependable, pleasant restaurant that delivers on atmosphere, service, and food in a neighborhood-friendly setting. It may not always deliver fine dining extravagance, but for what it aims to be--a well-executed, comfortable, somewhat polished American dining spot--it hits most of the right notes.

During my trip to Houston, I found a beautiful restaurant by the lake that made the perfect lunch stop. The peaceful view and breezy patio created an ideal setting. I ordered the crab cakes, a burger bowl, and fish and chips....each dish was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The service was friendly and quick, making the whole experience even better.

I had lunch here a week ago for the first time . It is located in the Towne Lake entertainment center which is always a pleasant place to visit. Parking is in several adjacent parking lots. Union Kitchen has both inside and outside patio dining (with nice furniture) facing either the lake or the Center's common area. I ordered Tyler's chicken pasta entree for $20. While waiting on my meal, I admired the attractive dining room that features an open kitchen. UK has a nice upscale vibe to it. The meal arrived less than 15 minutes later. In the bowl was grilled chicken with garlic mixed in a sun dried tomato cream sauce over fettuccine. This was a very good tasting meal. I really liked the tomato sauce and thought it mixed well with the garlic chicken and pasta. It was filling too and our table service was prompt and attentive. For my first visit to a UK restaurant, I left very pleased and vow to return. I believe this is a very good choice for a delicious meal in a nice setting.

The food was amazing as always, as well as the view. The Arnold Palmer was good also and my sweet treat the key lime pie is always a hit. Our server was very friendly and accommodating definitely will be back again.

My husband and I went to the Union Kitchen on a quiet Tuesday night. We have been there quite a few times so we knew it would be good. The service this time was shaky-it took forever to place even drink orders and then filling them took longer. Eventually the manager came out and told us that they were dealing with an employee issue, and that they were slow due to that, but offered us a free appetizer due to the wait time. We ordered the calamari, which was excellent-it was warm and crunchy and there were cheese crumbles that made it extra special. For dinner I had the lobster grilled cheese, which was excellent. It came with house made potato chips that I didn't eat-they were quite soggy and there was so much other food-i didn't need them anyway. It also came with a cup of tomato bisque, which was perfect. My husband had the chicken fried chicken, which was also good. When paying the bill we noticed they gave us our appetizer at half price instead of free like they offered, which we thought was strange-but we had planned to buy it at full price originally, so we didn't say anything. In any event, we enjoyed our experience and will go back again to enjoy their delicious food.

This is now my third time at Union Kitchen. Every dish that I've ordered is absolutely delicious. My steak was perfectly tender. The veggies were soft but still had a bite to them and the mushroom risotto was delicious!

I will give this place a solid three stars. Based solely on the service. AJ was amazing! The chicken satay skewers were pretty dang good. However, they missed two of the skewers with the satay sauce. Which was really good and basically the point of a satay. The slaw was pretty decent as was the sweet chili sauce at in accompaniment. The downfall was the hummus. It was basically just ground, chickpeas, very little spice, which seemed to have been applied to the bread instead of the actual hummus, and with no oil. No oil and hummus? This is like driving your car without motor oil. It's gonna be dry, flaky, and nasty and eventually going to go very wrong. Which it was. Luckily this was remedied by me asking for some olive oil and a copious amount of salt. Mmmmm. Salt. The drinks were pretty good. My martini, twist of lemon, sweet vermouth came out quickly, but after our food? But the bar ran out of lemons. What the fluff!?No lemons at a bar? AJ came to the rescue again and brought me a lemon twist to put in my martini after he was able to procure some. Again fantastic service by the wait staff. My girlfriend's whiskey sour was so chunky you basically needed to chew it. Apparently they did not pruree the fruit well enough to make it a drink. Not a smoothie. Based on the location, sitting by the lake, and the outstanding wait staff (way to go AJ!!) I would' come back and give this another go. I really did like those chicken skewers. Rock solid three stars for now.

Went here for my daughter's birthday dinner. Pricey but everyone was pleasantly surprised with their dishes. My daughter got the shrimp scampi. I got the Boost Bowl. A few got pasta bowls and I think the most unique dinner was the grilled cheese with lobster which they said was fantastic. Ended it off with a birthday song and this beignets were delicious. The location is beautiful, right off the water in Town Lake and there's a little play area for kids and they have a little book donation station. There was live entertainment as well. Service was attentive and food came out fairly quick.

Went when it was pretty slow, staff was super nice and welcoming! The portions were a really good size. Got 2 shareable appetizers (crab cake & bang bang shrimp) and the lobster grilled cheese. It was only 2 people, and it was definitely more than enough food! Pretty tasty and enjoyable!

"Crispy Onion Rings + Classic Comfort Food" 02-06-26…read more This place came highly recommended by a coworker, and I must say, it was worth the risk of trying something new. My husband and I came for an early Friday evening dinner, and we were genuinely impressed. Customer service was good, not over the top, but definitely decent and pleasant. The atmosphere felt comfortable and inviting. They played a nice mix of music (blues, soul, Tejano, light rock, country, and more) at a mid-volume on the overhead speakers. There were also mounted flat-screens, but they weren't turned on, which I actually didn't mind. One of the coolest perks is the self-serve ice cream station, and the ice cream is delicious. It has that old-fashioned, rich vanilla flavor, like the 1950s when food tasted much better. On top of that, although not self-serve, they also have a "Shakes & Malts and Warm Cookies" station, which is such a fun touch. The dining area is large with plenty of seating options, (booths and tables), and everything looked clean and tidy. They also have a self-serve beverage station that was clean and well-stocked. Now for the best part: the food! Just a heads-up, this place believes in large portion sizes, and I'm not mad at it! I ordered the Mississippi Catfish Platter, and it was loaded. It came with 4 large catfish pieces, Texas toast, onion rings, and two sides. I chose the creamy whipped potatoes and coleslaw. My husband ordered the Mississippi Catfish with fried shrimp and French fries, and his plate also came with Texas toast and onion rings. I tasted one of his shrimp and it was delectable! OMG! My only complaint is that the fish could have been fried a little crispier with a little crunch to it. It was just too soft for my liking. Food Ratings: Mississippi Catfish Platter -- 4/5: Delicious flavor, but it wasn't crispy/crunchy--more soft than I expected Shrimp & Catfish Platter -- 4/5 Mia's Queso Dip -- 3/5 Mashed Potatoes -- 5/5: Thick consistency but still creamy Onion Rings -- 5/5: Cooked to perfection--crispy and crunchy Coleslaw -- 3/5: Not my favorite. It had more of a vinaigrette vibe, and I prefer a mayo-based, tangy slaw French Fries -- 3/5: Served hot, but nothing special Overall, I highly recommend Mia's Table if you're looking for simple comfort food without all the fancy extras. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing, perfect for unwinding after a long work week or for those lazy nights when you just don't feel like cooking.

I love the seating and interior, but the best thing about The Cheesecake Factory is the variety offered in their extensive menu and the quality of the food. This one fits the bill. It was a shopping day with the wife and daughter with lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. We started off with the Egg Roll Sampler Appetizer and it was a great start. The variety of tastes was the star of the show mixing and matching, trying to find the best sauce ratio. My favorite was the chicken taquito. My wife loved the cheeseburger and I can't fault her for it because they were great. Obviously my wife has great taste. My daughter said the Avocado egg roll was the best. I tried it and hated it, AVOCADOS ARE GROSS! For our entrees my daughter got the Seared Tuna Tataki Salad, my wife ordered the soup (cream of chicken) and salad with Caesar dressing. I decided to try something new and got the Steak Diane (woo hoo retro.) My daughter's Seared Ahi Tuna Salad was fantastic. The tuna was cooked well, though it could've been a bit more fatty. The salad was fresh and crisp and the dressing was bright and tangy with undernotes of sesame oil. My wife's soup and salad was great. The soup was homey and reminiscent of a rich pot pie. The Caesar dressing on the salad was spectacular. It was creamy and tangy just like Caesar should be. Now for my Steak Diane, I'm so glad I decided to try something new. You know, take me back to the fancy restaurants of the mid century because this dish was divine. The steak was in bite sized pieces but cooked perfectly. I loved the richness of the Diane sauce and the crisp mushrooms. For desert we had the Pineapple Upside Down cheese cake. It was delicious, a wonderful sweet desert that was the perfect light and airy end to a heavy lunch. I recommend The Cheesecake Factory in Cypress if you're in the area. Or if you're looking for someplace that feels special and fancy but you want to know it's going to not disappoint. And do yourself a favor and order something new, it's worth it. Almost forgot the drinks- My daughter got a Bloody Mary. I didn't try it because BLOODY MARYs are gross. I got the Spanish Old Fashioned. I think I like this better than a regular Old Fashioned. It was rich and smoky, the cold brew added a velvety chocolate taste. The orange peel notes were perfect and it had a good mouth feel. Simply amazing

Not too busy when we first arrived, but it definitely picked up at one point. Everyone was friendly when we walked in, and the wine specials were amazing. I ordered the Pinot Noir flight, and for the price, it just made sense--totally worth it. Now the food... SO good. Everything was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. We tried the empanadas, the ceviche, the mussels, and I got the steak with shrimp (not sure the exact name). It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and honestly it was phenomenal. I'd come back just for that dish alone. I definitely want to return for happy hour and maybe another girls' night. The only downside: our first server. I'm not sure if he was flustered, annoyed, or just having a day, but his energy toward our table was not it. We came out to relax and get away from attitudes at home, not to deal with more. He seemed impatient and uninterested, didn't offer recommendations, took our order and rushed off, and overall treated us very differently from the table next to us--who he was super sweet to, even giving them a hug at one point. There was quite a number of four top tables that were open however, our server we saw her to take our water and took a couple of appetizers and then we didn't see her (except one time to check on us while we were eating). We ended up placing our dinner order with the manager, who came to our table b/c she want to bring out our appetizer, street corn, which they offered at no cost since it was our first time eating there. The street corn was delicious! The food came out freshly prepared, and tasted delicious, except my wife's enchiladas didn't get prepared until we talked to the same manager. At this point the rest of the family was done eating their meals. They quickly corrected that , I the enchiladas out within 4-6 minutes. They were very apologetic and were kind enough to comp that entrée. The manager who was there on Thursday night was extremely helpful.
