Found this spot next to my local HEB & wanted to give it a try, the wings caught my attention they looked so good on the reviews so here we are trying it. This spot is small and new so not that many customers, but we were still greeted with lots of love and kindness, especially our waitress she was so nice and patient with us. We got started with the cheese fries to snack on and sadly I didn't get a picture because they looked so good and they were so good and crispy and super cheesy. Now for the food we all ordered wings and a classic burger, the burger was juicy and flavorful which caught me by surprise. The wings were huge nothing compared to the small wings at wingstop, but I was kinda disappointed the mango habanero was not spicy or had any flavor to what mango habanero should taste like. We had asked for spicy lemon pepper but it wasn't on the menu but the waitress told us to not worry they will make it work, but when we got to try them it was a whole different flavor it was sweet and not even spicy or lemony which was confusing but we still ate them hahah, I'll just know next time I'll stick to a flavor I know, now the fries omg they were one of the best fries I've tried, so crispy and seasoned I was just munching on the fries. It's a small place close to HEB but they had plenty of TV's and I loved all the Astros decor. Amazing daily specials, I think we went on a Tuesday and they had $2 tacos with a minimum purchase of three tacos. The food was good, my kids had the fried shrimp and ate it all and they are picky. We had no issues with service, everything came out quickly and we were greeted promptly. Definitely will go back and see what other specials they have! read more

Found this new local spot and was pleasantly surprised, they have a variety of foods (tacos, burgers, wings, soups, pasta, sandwiches, all the typical items one would want). They also have daily specials, taco Tuesdays, etc., and Wednesday is steak night so I went for that and it was delicious. Wife got Mak's Mix which has wings, fried pickles, cheese sticks, & boudin balls, and she's too was very happy with her choice. They also have various drinks, TVs with your favorite sporting event everywhere you look, and the service is great!! Rebeca A. took care of us, offered us suggestions, made sure our drinks were in time, and our food was hot. Definitely recommend this place. Mak's Pub and Grill on Fry Rd and Tuckerton is a great little spot for a nice lunch and great crawfish. My friends really enjoyed the spicy garlic flavoring of the crawfish and the spicy sausage! I had the blackened catfish with shrimp. The meal was very good and fairly priced. read more

3/15/2025 This was the worst experience of my life. The customer service was absolutely terrible. From the moment my fiancée and I walked in to the moment we left, we felt uncomfortable due to how rude the staff was. We were only there to pick up an order, and I can't even imagine what it would be like to dine in. On top of that, the food made me sick immediately after eating it. I felt nauseous right away and ended up throwing everything up shortly after finishing my meal. I've never had that happen before, and it was an awful experience. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it at all costs! read more

We got take out burgers. We had a craving for burgers and Local Table was too long of a wait for to go. We didn't want fast food and decided to try this place. To be fair nothing has done well in this plaza. It's an odd location and it was dead when we went in to pick up food. But man it's pretty good food. Our daughter liked the fettuccine. My wife and I were craving a burger and heard that Mak's burgers were really good! Which we were not disappointed! We had the Mak burger with their special Mak sauce! Cooked to order with very fresh toppings just like at home! The jalapeño bun put it over the top! It came with great french fries, you know the ones that are really crispy and hard not to eat all of them before taking a bite of your burger! The service was great! Want to watch sport!? I love a GOOD 5star experience and 5 star to me is when the SERVICE matches the food and you get that here at Mak's! Our waitress was awesome. Genuinly kind and engaging, always checking in and that definitely helped make our experience while visiting here. We randomly stopped in here when we pulled up for our planned lunch stop and saw this place open next door. The ambiance is set as a cool "sports bar, lots of tv's, some arcade games and a fancy electronic "jukebox" to play a variety of jams. The food was fantastic. We had wings, the pulled pork sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich and the Mak's burger and everything was fresh and grilled to perfection (where applicable). The french fries were everyone's FAVORITE, crispy, golden, perfectly sized, well seasoned fries and tonfinish it all off, fried-oreos the kids couldn't stop talking about. I hate to give a not so good review for a new business but unfortunately they have no Ambiance what so ever. My wife and I went in on a Sunday around 2pm. with NFL games being played and expecting to see games on the TV's. Unfortunately none of the Tv's had anything even sports related on and it was dead maybe 3 customers and very low music. The only reason it got 2 stars is the wings were very good, we also tried boudin balls but they are below average. I guess this must be a lunch place that people would go to during the week because it sure is not a sports bar or a hangout. So if you are looking to watch a game or any sports just avoid this place. read more

My husband and I came in on Friday night looking for a new place to try out for dinner. We walked in to a sign that said to seat yourself, so we sat down at one of the only open booths in the place. Then we waited and waited and waited. There were no menus at the table, so we kept expecting that someone would come over to hand us some. No one ever came over to our table. We made eye contact with at least 3 different waitresses multiple times. No one ever gave us the time of day. Food was just ok- I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and expected a fried chicken breast. Instead, the portion of chicken was 1/4 of a breast sliced very thin, then fried. The sandwich had thicker pickles on it than actual chicken. I realized that something from my order wasn't correct, so I tried to flag down one of the bartenders, but she was eating at the bar, chatting with other patrons. So far so good! We've had wings, tacos, and wraps from this place and everything has been delicious. The prices are very reasonable as well. The service has also been great but can be a bit slow in person the few times I've gone. However, there was only one person working the floor and bar so I could reasonably understand a little delay in service. The ambience was nice as well! Friendly environment with lots of TV's for those who don't want to have to break their neck to watch the game ;). All in all, would recommend!! read more
