    Caesar salad with fried chicken.
    Sheri W.

Brought family so there were quite a variety of dishes ordered. The Ribeye steak was ok, but they left the silver skin on it which makes it tougher to cut and chew. The flavor was good, but you could tell the meat was middling quality. I had a taco salad with grilled salmon which was good and moist. Salmon had good flavor, it was not overly seasoned. I wish they had used some other types of lettuce rather than iceberg. The others had a Sirloin steak, which didn't look great to me. It looked like a chopped steak. Another had a New York Strip. One thing that I did notice that was unacceptable, was one of the side orders, was cinnamon apples. Served a bowl of apple pie filling with 3 very small apple slices. This is laziness on the part of the kitchen! For the prices, I expect better. Service was adequate.

We got sat in a booth immediately. The ambience is nice. It's a dimly lit elevated but casual place. You could go dressed up or you could go in jeans. The menus is smaller but offers steaks, chicken, fish and lamb. We got two appetizers, one entrée, one dessert, and four drinks. Let's talk about it. Cocktails- 10/10 I had the Velvet Veil & my husband had the Peach Blush. They were so good that we had a second round. They have few other unique cocktails and a large beer and alcohol list. Tuna tartare- 10/10. It comes with wonton chips and honestly, you don't even need them. The tartare by itself is so delicious. We will go back just for this and a cocktail. Lobster bisque- 8/10 a bit spicy which seemed odd but good lobster flavor For our main, we split the lamb chops with a side of fried Brussels and also mashed potatoes. Lamb chops- 10/10 there were 6 chops so we each got 3. They were drizzled with a beautiful mint sauce and a sweet demi glaze, not too sweet. Garlic whipped potatoes- 10/10 you gotta like garlic and chives. But it isn't overwhelming. Brussels-10/10. They were on the sweeter side too and some of the best I have ever had. Bread pudding- 10/10. We have a hard time fining a bread pudding without bananas or raisins, as we don't like them, and this one does not have them. Simple and delicious! Overall we really enjoyed it. We felt like we got an elevated steakhouse experience without spending a ton of money. The prices are fair, the wait staff is wonderful, the ambience is perfect. We will definitely be going back.

The atmosphere definitely has a charm to it, with a great fine dining atmosphere and very professional staff. To start, we went with the arancini, a favorite of ours. I would say it could not have been better and definitely had delicious texture and flavor. For sides, we shared the truffle mashed potatoes and the roasted carrots. Both cooked to perfection and I especially loved the truffle mashed potatoes. For my entree, I had the seabass and it had a wonderful crispy sear on the outside with the fish overall being cooked perfectly. I also loved the flavors of the additional components to the dish. My wife had the NY Strip and also very much loved it. She has a pretty high bar when it comes to steaks so definitely high praise! We had the crab cakes as an appetizer and they were fine. A surprisingly spicy sauce came with them that really added a punch. The steak was fine. It was cooked correctly. It was nothing special. We had mushrooms and hassle back potatoes as sides, and they were terrible. I have had better potatoes from a box. The mushrooms tasted like vinegar. The cheesecake was delicious without the rhubarb compote. The compote was just a layer of sour on top of lemon flavored cheesecake. (Totally unnecessary) I will not go back unless it is to just hang out and drink wine in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.

There are plenty of choices. We started with the artichoke dip with fresh veggies for GF. It was pretty tasty. I ordered the filet and mashed potatoes for my meal. I'll probably order seafood next time. So exciting that there are actual GF choices! We enjoyed the food but LOVED the staff. The hostess that took our reservation talked to me quite a while about gluten-free and wrote my allergies with our reservation. Our waiter was one of the best waiters we've ever had. If you get a chance sit in Michael's section. He will give you great service and also entertain you for the evening. They ensured we had a great evening and who doesn't want that? The owner even came by at the end to see how everything was and yes, you're right...he was very friendly! We will definitely be returning.

Parking isn't the greatest, especially on the weekends, so you can utilize the valet service located in front of The Tavern. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, so we had our own private room. I'm not sure of the price to reserve a private room, so you would need to call and verify that. The menu isn't very extensive, and this is definitely a more expensive restaurant, so I would personally save it for special occasions. If you have a special diet or dietary restrictions, there may not be a ton of options, so I'd recommend calling ahead to ask before making a reservation. For food, I had the porterhouse steak, which is meant to be shared rather than an individual serving. It was definitely a generous portion because I still had enough to take leftovers home! I also ordered the potatoes and Brussels sprouts as my sides. All of the sides are a la carte, so keep that in mind when looking at the menu and pricing. They also had a salmon special while we were there, although I'm not sure if that is something they offer regularly or if the special changes throughout the year. The ambiance gives major speakeasy vibes and is really nice. The lights are dim, and they even had a man playing the piano for a set amount of time while we were there, which added to the experience. If you're coming with a group, just know that there will most likely be a 20% gratuity added to your bill. Overall, such a great experience, and I will definitely be coming back for a special occasion in the future!
