The hostess quickly seated me to a table. The waitress did notify me that she's going to be back later as she was taking care of the other tables. I knew what I wanted and ordered the 13 oz ribeye with a baked potato and a house salad. The bread was better than what I could remember. The 13 oz ribeye was cooked perfectly, medium rare. I had a really disappointing experience at Outback Steakhouse. I ordered two burgers cooked medium, but both came out well below rare, making them essentially inedible. They were also supposed to come with a side of French fries, but neither plate had any fries at all. I also ordered the Bloomin' Onion appetizer, which is usually a highlight, but this time it was extremely soggy and not enjoyable to eat. My husband and I dined in for lunch he had all you can eat salad and soup and he rated it a nine he said it was one of the best chilies he's ever had a lot of pieces of steak very tasty and a Caesar salad all you can eat for 999. I thought that was a very good price. I had the grilled shrimp with a salad and a small bowl of potato soup. We had our dinner as a take out. When dinner arrived, they had wrapped our potatoes in foil to keep them warm. Our NY Strip steak was amazingly tender and very flavorful! Cooked to perfection--truly cooked medium as we ordered! Delicious! Broccoli was tender and delicious. Our baked potatoes were done throughout...and warm! Hubby had a salad that he was impressed with it as it was chilled and had nice vegetables--no wilted lettuce, cores, or slimy tomato/cucumber! This was my second visit to this establishment. Strangely, I ended up with exactly the same server seated in the exact same booth even though my visits were separated by about six months. My server, Robert, was outstanding, again. He was attentive, quick, polite and thoughtful. I overheard a conversation from another server with the people in the booth next to me and that server was equally polite so service is definitely a positive here. I ordered a piña koala (beverage), thinking I was getting something like a piña colada and was mistaken. While the drink was fine, it wasn't a piña colada. Appetizers were fast, hot and delicious. The main entrée, however, came out with the stuffed potatoes a bit on the cold side and the strangest cut of meat I've ever seen. While the steak was delicious, it was difficult to cut and a very odd shape. Dessert was amazing. Lat time I got the filet mignon. Tasted good but seemed small and undercooked. This time I got the center-cut sirloin. I ordered medium to avoid being overcooked. It is BLAND, it is TOUGH, it is BARELY EDIBLE. I also got the shrimp appetizer that's like the bloomin' onion. It was soggy, as expected delivered because it's steamed in packaging during the drive. Well I'm changing this from a 3-star to a 1-star review. As you can see they asked me to send my info to their website. So I did and have heard nothing back. So now the service has dropped further than where it started. It's been a while since I've been to an Outback. We stopped in last week because it was right across from our hotel. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare with a baked potato & a side salad. We both had ordered a double Knob Creek whiskey & Coke. Mine was in a short and my wife ordered hers in a tall. Neither could be called a double in any way. The steak was a really poor excuse of a ribeye. The salad and potato were fine. All in all I feel like this was just a sad excuse for a steak dinner. read more

Outback Steakhouse is bomb. I did curbside pickup and the food came out hot and ready on time by friendly staff. My steak was cooked as ordered and tasted great. My sides were exceptional, especially the vegetables which are sometimes poorly thrown together at other places but these are very flavorful with great texture. Outback is one of the better steaks you're going to get in the chain restaurant space at this price point. Our dining experience at the Outback at 47th and Yale was so bad last night that I had to come on here and talk about it. I am not a complainer. You can look at my reviews on Yelp and see that this is the first bad review that I have ever given. When we first arrived the greeter didn't welcome us to the restaurant instead he frowned like he was upset we were there. It took forever for a waitress to come get our drink order. The place was not busy at all. My friend ordered one of their most popular wines and the waitress said they didn't carry that wine. After she checked she realized they did have it. We ordered our food and we both ordered a salad to eat before our main meal arrived. Only one salad was brought out and we couldn't find the waitress to tell her about the missing salad. So the main course arrived and I still hadn't received my salad yet. My main meal was correct, but my friends meal was missing the one side that was ordered because they didn't have it in stock. The waitress didn't know they were out of spinach. A little bit later a woman comes to our table to find out what was going on with our order and didn't even introduce herself. I assume it was the manager but I'm not sure. She just said she would check on things for us. It was a struggle to get our water and drinks refilled because the waitress didn't come back around for a long time. The waitress never did come to the table and explain she had made a mistake with our order which would have helped the situation a lot. When we paid the tab there never a kind word said to us like thank you for coming in, or hope you enjoyed your meal, or see you next time. Nothing. Its like they didn't care we had spent our hard earned money in their restaurant at all. It was the most unsatisfying dining experience that either one of us has ever had. We will never go back to that Outback Steakhouse ever again. Avoid it at all costs. It is a waste of your time and money. read more

We went recently for a hosted event and I was impressed (especially after mistakenly going to the one on 71st street and they were of little if no help in aiding us in our search for the event). The food is always amazing when we go to the location on Yale Ave. I finally took my mother to Outback when she came to visit. It was a little salty but still good overall. The manager was amazing. She cut my mothers steak for her and our server was amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. I love the televisions they have. I'm a big sports fan so I love sitting at the bar watching the games. It's also walking distance from my apartment so it's great for me to have some me time when my children are away. read more

In my original review I mentioned the complimentary bread that I thought was maybe wheat. Well I don't know if it's changed since the last time I was here but now I'm thinking it might be rye bread... either way it's still yummy, and I'm always a fan of places giving you a little something while you read the menu and then wait for your real food to get to you. We ordered two appetizers of our own as well, because we had a gift card so we could splurge a bit. The bloom petals like I said on my previous review are a good deal and so we got them again. The only small negative is that they are pretty darn salty. I like saltiness so I thought it was good (though even I'll admit it was really salty) but I can see how others might not be a fan of that. Then we got the Aussie cheese fries which were also good but nothing spectacular by any means. I liked that they came with ranch! I was very close to ordering the alice springs chicken (which is what I got on my last visit) because I remember liking it, but then decided I should try something I haven't gotten before. That led me to the bloomin' fried chicken, which was not only new to me but a new menu item at outback too! I think it's a creative idea that I'm surprised they hadn't thought of until now... it's basically boneless (woohoo!!!) chicken fried with the same batter that they use to fry their classic bloomin onion. It's also served with the special sauce which I was happy about too. Of course, the flavors were really good. It definitely tasted similar to the bloomin onion, just with chicken. The chicken itself was also tasty, and a good texture. It wasn't extremely juicy but definitely not dry at all either. The portion size of the chicken was very large! I definitely had leftovers which is always a big plus to me!!! It came with mashed potatoes and veggies too. The veggies were alright but not my favorite. It was squash (green and yellow) and carrots. I liked the carrots the best and then the green squash. The mashed potatoes were good, but they do them a bit chunkier than I personally prefer. In my last review I also mentioned that they hold the door open for you when you come in and leave, but for some reason this didn't happen on my last visit... so I feel the need to mention that so people don't expect it to happen if they don't do that anymore. The staff in general on my recent visit honestly weren't as exceptional as I remember from past experiences at Outback, but they were still nice and professional. Was skeptical about the score of this Outback BUT I decided to try it anyway. GLAD I did as it was excellent. Without question the cleanest, most well run Outback I've ever been to. Devine was outstanding as a server and was extremely attentive and saw that I had everything I needed. Food was prepared exactly as I requested including the "extras" I asked for when ordering. All courses arrived hot, fresh and quickly. I am walking away very satisfied and with a renewed opinion of Outback. If only they all were this good. read more

Solid and consistent service coupled with vast menu variety makes for a good experience almost every time I come to this Outback Steakhouse location. There is a rewards program that offers pretty good deals and there always seems to be some type of special or discount running such as sirloin and lobster tail for $15.99 or 3 course special etc. In the past this wasn't my go to spot for a steak because I didn't love the flavor of the steaks here, but lately they have been stepping their game up with the flavor. Last time I came here, I had a sirloin and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked just to the temperature I asked. The steakhouse mac and cheese is truly top notch here! I'm a sucker for a good mac and cheese. It does have a fair amount of pepper so if that's not something you like then you may not like this side dish as much as I do. Speaking of sides, there are several good side options with particular mention of multiple veggie options. A lot of places have only one choice of veggie side, but here they have several. How can you not like a place that starts your meal by serving pumpernickel bread and butter and has Aussie themed names for almost all of their menu items?! read more

Lobster tails were over salted; Outback seems to regularly have that issue with seafood. I can always add salt, but it can't be removed once cooked. Baked potato was half raw. The service was so bad because our server was very bitter and sassy. she would rarely walk to our table and every time she did she would give us attitude. We went in during dinner rush and was surprised to be seated so quickly. Because the service was not bad, they will be getting 2 star. For appetizers, we ordered the Seared Ahi. It was the best tasting dish that we had that night. However, this appetizer dish arrived after we already received our two entrée. We also got the sirloin and shrimp and prime rib dinner. The sirloin was cooked above the temperature that we wanted, medium rare. The shrimp was not bad however. The prime rib was an absolute let down. I wanted it medium rare. The server said that they were out of medium rare and had medium rare plus which supposedly was between medium rare and medium. Nope, more like a medium to well done. Biting into it, it was so over cooked and chewy. The texture is similar to chewing over cooked pork chop. It was not good at all. The sides and appetizers were not bad at all. WTF!!! I travel Monday - Friday. I like Outback Victoria Filet when cooked as the menu shows...I mean the menu has 5 pics of rare med ect. I ordered Med Rare. 1st steak attempt raw cold in the middle. 2nd attempt more of the same. 3rd attempt well done. SMH!! Bar tender was cool. Food presenter had a attitude like your X-wife. Finally the manager came over and I showed him his menus pics and photos of the 3 steaks delivered. (Customer service 101. ...Manager comes out after first mistake not the 3rd..duh!) I asked him for $25 ....for a 8 oz steak should it not be prepared close to med or even med rare? He said he would cook it personally I said I've wasted an hour and a half on 3 attempts. I felt sorry for the bartender because he was very nice and agreed with me on each steak. I was comped the steak and drink. Which was the right thing to do. But clearly they had a cook issue.
