    Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Chrysta J.

Came to stay at the Embassy Suite and lucked up on dinner at Cyrus located inside the hotel. The restaurant was kinda of empty except for people at the bar there was only one other group seated not far from us. I ordered a chicken dinner and a salad while my husband had fried chicken sandwich with French fries. They give you a nice portion of food and everything was delicious. My chicken had an amazing tasting glaze over it that was soo good! Our server was really nice and friendly. The restaurant is very cozy and not too noisy either. We will definitely come again.

The serving sizes for bowl of soup and wedge salad are giant. The lobster bisque was very good, the wedge salad had very green crisp lettuce, nice amount of crisp bacon and perhaps too much blue cheese pieces. Glass of 14 Hands Merlot, decent amount of wine for $10. Great food. With tip, $36 The "but" is understaffed waitstaff and hostess. This restaurant is located inside the Embassy Suites hotel. Not very many diners, so establishment seems to have decided to only have one waitperson. And no hostess, at least on weekdays. Many diners walked in as if it was "seat yourself" because no one was at the entrance to seat you. Also, the poor waitperson was running ragged as we were spaced just far enough of arriving, that there was always one or more table waiting for something. The other point of discontent, this type of menu should be accompanied with awesome warm baguette and butter. They don't serve bread unless requested. I asked, and quickly understood why they don't just serve it, it is nothing more exciting than dinner rolls you would buy in the supermarkets bread aisle. I'm staying at the Embassy Suites several days, I asked how the short ribs were. They sound really good, so I may try them out later in the stay. Update - a few days later I returned and ordered the French Onion soup. It was ok. I'm accustomed to having the top of the soup being covered with melted cheese. They prepare French Onion Soup with just a crostini and a small amount of cheese. If you are ordering soup, I recommend the lobster bisque, far superior than the onion soup.

Lamb Fries are a specialty of the house

Lamb Fries. I would return just for these fried lamb testicles, served with cocktail sauce and lemon; better than oysters! On rare occasions this is what I need: What you see is what you get; old fashioned simple cooking served by experienced, up selling, friendly staff, staged in a rundown restaurant in the city stockyard. I got sautéed mushrooms on the side of my steak salad order. Why? Just because the waitress asked if I wanted them! Went surprisingly well with the grapefruit-sized yeast roll that came with salad

    Filet, potatoes, and veggies.

Enjoyed the filet and sides. The wait staff was entertaining but didn't seem to be be quite in sync. It was an early weekday dinner.

Every place we ate during this trip has been fantastic and Cyrus delivers excellent food and service. We watched the Dodgers win while sitting in the bar and after the game we were ready to eat. They were nice enough to serve us in the bar area as the sitting section was full. Four of us shared 3 shrimp cocktails (generous 8 pieces of Shrimp each order), a bigger than expected Cesar Salad, an order of Crab Cakes, Grilled Asparagus and Sautéed Wild Mushrooms. Everything was fantastic and we can't pick a favorite. Casey was an excellent server and had a great sense of humor. We would eat here again! Thanks! And Go a Dodgers. :)

    Pork Belly Sandwich

All I had were the fries and Pork Belly Sandwich, but man was it delicious! The sandwich was huge; the meat was tender and the deli ham (wasn't sure about that) made it tasty. Fries were steak fries, but a smaller versions. They weren't the ginormous ones with zero flavor. Instead, they had a different size, crispy outside and were seasoned timely because the salt/pepper flavor was delish. For a last-minute order (got it in just before the restaurant closed at 11p), they didn't skimp and delivered a quality meal at the end of the day when I really needed it. Had a good time here at the bar after a very long flight delay. Would definitely return.

Filet and side of Brussels sprouts

Service is great! Never very busy so seated right away and food comes out quick. I have had the filet, Brussels sprouts and lobster bisque. Lobster bisque is good but the steak and Brussels are even better! The Brussels sprouts have a sweet sauce on them and bacon. The filet was cooked perfectly and had roasted garlic on the side.

Overall an underwhelming experience. Went there for dinner with work colleagues. The restaurant is nice inside but the food was ultimately lacking for any restaurant, let alone for the price of a hotel steak house. Appetizers: Mushrooms stuffed with cheese and bacon. 4 large stuffed mushrooms. They had melted cheese on top which was hardened and cooled by the time they were delivered. It makes me think they were pre prepped and left to sit from earlier in the day. The flavor was lacking. The calamari was lightly breaded and good for calamari. Crab cakes as one person at the table said, I can tell these came from a can. Everyone agreed. Mostly breaded filling with very little flavor. They came out warm not hot. All of the appetizers arrived extremely fast after ordering. Everyone got the impression that things were not cooked up fresh for our table. I had the chicken fried steak as my entree. It was actually the favorite for everyone. The steak was good and the gravy was flavorful. Unlike the plain side salad that came with the dish. ( I would suggest they add some cheese, or croutons, or onion) something more then lettuce, 3 cherry tomatoes and 2 slices of cucumber. Others had: Ribeye: Good, but nothing great was the response. Miso glazed salmon: Easily the worst dish at the table. The salmon was fishy and a very small portion. The person eating it only ate 1/2 of it. Another had the Filet. I didn't get to ask how he enjoyed it. If you have a car, I would recommend going elsewhere. If you are eating here, skip the appetizers.

Not impressed. I ate here maybe 3 times in 7 days. Don't plan on prompt service here. The staff all seem to disappear quite often, I don't know if the waitresses are having to cook the food or what but it was very common for them to be gone 10 min at a time. Both times I ate in I had a long wait at the little check In pedestal. Once I just gave up waiting and sat myself and then waited maybe 6 min before seeing anyone. I saw 2 couples give up waiting and leave. One of the couples had been seated but the waitress didn't come back so they left.

Dining area. I'm in patio in lobby inside hotel and it's cold here also.
    James W.

I'm not so much for this place... Too pricey for the poor quality or taste. It is convient and the wait staff are always great as I've eaten here three separate visits. Even the burger meat doesn't taste good to me and there is no way I'm paying $30 for steak that I can find at so many places around here or other places I visit. I only give it 3 stars for service and location as they have always been nice and quick.

    Dereck W.

Go early, but definitely make the trip. The staff were great, the house beer was delicious and everything was excellent quality and presentation. Staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating, i will definitely go back for another visit next time i'm in town!

New menu for Cyrus Steakhouse! Same great servers.

My fiancée really enjoy the chocolate ganache dessert. I've heard they have decent specials/happy hour menus but cannot speak from experience since we went on a Friday night. Cons. Our server started the evening stating the restaurant's goal is to serve the best steak we've ever had. Sadly, this goal was not met. The charcuterie was a basic spread. Cheese squares looked like they came out of a package, a small sliver of goat cheese, maybe a quarter of an apple. The biggest disappointment was the steak. I ordered the classic with mashed potatoes and green beans. It had little to no seasoning. The steak was tough. My fiancé ordered the umami ribeye and it was not properly rendered. He did enjoy the sides and the umami sauce but, for a steakhouse, the steak was not well cooked.

I was sitting at a table close to the bar and watched a woman accidentally spill her drink while sitting there with her friend. It really was not a huge deal, especially considering there were maybe only one or two other people at the bar at the time. But the way the staff handled it afterward was unbelievably unprofessional. The bartender brought back what looked like a half full replacement drink and made a rude comment about her spilling the rest. After that, the women were mostly ignored while employees behind the bar laughed, took shots, and very obviously mocked the situation. Not to be a stickler, but I also do not think it is the best look for employees to be openly taking shots while simultaneously being extremely rude to customers and what appeared to be intentionally ignoring the two women after a small spill. Later, another employee came over and made another comment about the spill before they were brought their check. The women looked embarrassed and upset and left shortly after. It was genuinely uncomfortable to watch. There is a huge difference between joking around and humiliating customers, and the staff completely crossed the line tonight.

You could tell right away that the service was top notch (thank you Blaze and Blake) and it persisted throughout the meal. We ordered a couple of things to share: fried calamari, roasted beets, baked potato, mushroom risotto and a prime ribeye. The fried calamari was good and the mango sauce that accompanied it, elevated it to another level. The roasted beets were delicious with the goat cheese and sauce. The fully loaded baked spud was good, but nothing special. The risotto was decent, but we did think it was slightly heavy on the salt and I think it's because they salted in the risotto and also the cheese on top also added additional salt as well, so just a heads up. I typically order my ribeye medium rare and wow, it was absolutely perfect. It was seasoned very well and the meat was tender and juicy. 10/10. I also had an old fashioned on the side, which was very good as well. We got the Sautéed Button Mushrooms and Chive Whipped Potatoes on the side. Steaks came out, both had a significant grey band, ordered medium rare but these were on the medium side. Pretty good sear, the best bites were the pink center. The Button Mushrooms were very good! Meaty and dense with great flavor. Chive Whipped Potatoes came out at room temp, the first scoop we got was fine, after that they were pretty cold. We saw our waiter 2 times once our meal came out. She had another table behind us that was being obnoxious, so I understand. We waited another 15 minutes until another waiter showed up to pick up our plates and go over the desert menu. We got a cake to go and paid the bill. No bags to take your boxes out with. Ambiance was a weird mix. We dressed nice, there were a few tables similar. There was a couple at a table near us, the man was wearing a hat that just said "F*CK" on it. We also got to see his underwear when he was constantly getting up and dropping his napkin in the walkway. We had a hard time figuring out what the mood was. Other tables were served their silverware (steak knife/soup spoons) off a platter, while ours came in our waiters hand. 6/10 feels accurate of our experience. We ordered the tri tip dip sandwich which was the highlight of the meal. It was delicious. We also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and that was full of flavor. The focaccia was on the dryer side and the chicken didn't fill out the bun so it was just kind of off texture wise and lacking fullness but the favor was 10/10. The chips and red onion dip were a nice little touch. Something I've never had before and we enjoyed it

We started with the bacon jam, which was everything you'd expect, but was a tad bit too sweet to eat a lot of. We then moved on to the Idaho trout and grilled chicken. The trout was perfectly cooked, the sauce and vegetables were the perfect pairing for a light dish. The grilled chicken had a nice assortment of gnocchi and a delicious onion cream sauce. For sides we had the Brussels sprout appetizer with bacon, apples, honey, and goat cheese...WOW! We also had the potato pave. The potatoes were yummy once we added salt and pepper. Without it, they were extremely bland, but once seasoned, I devoured all of them. Finish them with flaky salt before serving, it makes a huge difference. For dessert we had the orange marmalade bread pudding. It was ok, but I wish we chose something else. The flavors just didn't mesh. We will happily go back and will 100% recommend this restaurant to our friends.
