Went here on a Sunday evening and got sat right away. The service was so kind and SUPER quick. We sat right by the water and it was beautiful. The food was everything and more. The sandwich was delightful, only complaint (which is on me) is to ask for horseradish on the side next time. Pasta was awesome. Need to go back on a Wednesday when it's half priced!

I've wanted to eat here for years! We finally decided to try it for a late Saturday lunch. It was pretty empty inside. We got seated in the covered patio, which was too cold until the server turned on the heaters. It has the best views, but it's a pretty sad view of the river these days. I blame winter mainly. But the restaurant is gorgeous inside. The bar is massive. And the Christmas decor was still up and very pretty. Our food was definitely good, but for 2 lunch portion entrees (1 being a burger) and 1 beer, it was $50. Just not really worth it for lunch. I loved the jalapeno bacon mashed potatoes best of all. I would visit this restaurant again if like a friend group wanted to go, but i wouldn't choose it myself.

Our first time here, and we were very pleased. Nice interior and atmosphere, and excellent waitress. Our meals were very good, and portions were very generous. Dessert also was excellent. Would definitely come back.

Was perfect weather to sit outside and eat and not have to worry about sweating due to the heat. Staff was friendly, we walked in and were told we can pick a table we wanted for outdoor dining. Our waiter shortly came over afterwards and we asked for a drink menu as it was not given when we were first seated. There were some great drink selections from cocktails, beers, wine. The food menu had classic lunch and dinner options and also brunch for the weekends. I found it to be a bit on pricier side. I enjoyed what we ordered and could have enjoyed it more had I not been spending half my time fighting away the flies-downside of outdoor dining. Other than that Ill opt for indoor if I make a stop there again.

Wow! Just Wow! This was crazy because our plan of the day did not include picking this restaurant. The plan was for a burger but a coworker said we should try this place. He did not steer us wrong. As a matter of fact he suggested that we try the Chicken Fried Chicken. We were greeted and promptly seated. Our server Brittney greeted us and took our drink orders. I chose the Spinach Artichoke Dip as a starter. Amazing flavor great starter! The menu offered great selections and I was now poised to make a difficult choice. Ultimately my wife & I both decided to get the Chicken Fried Chicken. Typically that never happens but we were both pleased! Our server was incredible and she gave us some great suggestions for the next time we visited. Brittney was a down to earth person with a great personality and were glad to have her! We did manage to leave room for dessert and we had to go with the Creme Brûlée with the Chocolate Raspberry sauce.

I think this was the brownie fudge sundae with whipped topping!

For our anniversary my husband and I tried a new restaurant for us on the 24th of June! We were celebrating our 35 year of marital bliss and thought we would splurge a little! We didn't really plan ahead, it was more like where do you want to eat after running some errands out south. It was a Monday, so we didn't need reservations, but I think on the weekends you would. We were hoping to get a seat by the river but they were mostly large party areas and it was just the two of us. For a Monday evening they were pretty busy. When we first sat down the tables near us were empty, but when we left everything was full. The food was so good! I had the chicken piccata and it was juice and full of flavor. My husband had one of their fish dinners, I cannot remember which one, but he loved it as well. And we got a chocolate dessert to top off the evening! Everything was great and the waiter was super nice!

The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, upscale vibes... but not too upscale where you feel the need to dress~ up. It's ok to go casually dressed. The staff welcomed us and were friendly. The dishes looked impressive, prices were fair. Everything we tried seemed to need more salt, but that's a very easy fix. Much better than over salting. The sushi was acceptable. Not as good as a sushi house, but still good. I think the lunch menu is a great deal. It starts at 11 and ends at 4 every day. I had the lunch sized portion of the Alfredo fettuccine. Presentation was very nice, tasted fresh, and I enjoyed it. The crème brûlée for dessert was very refreshing! Tasted very nicely... especially with the chocolate sauce. I noticed how put together the staff looked. They dressed very professionally. Pressed work uniforms, nicely tucked in. The waiter was very nice. I love iced tea and iced tea was freshly made. Very - very - very good! They also give military discount.

It looked much the same as before, clean and inviting with enough class to make it feel nice but also chill enough for a wide variety of patrons to feel comfortable. We started with appetizers or calamari and tuna carpaccio. The calamari were wonderfully cooked and not super chewy. The breading was a little different than what you'd find at other places and was crispy and enjoyable. The sweet chili sauce was splendid and added an extra lightly sweet note. The tuna capaccio. This completely wowed us. Thin slices of tuna with some sprouts and and a wasabi drizzle. The presentation was wonderful, it tasted amazing and was fun to eat!! Our sushi rolls, two basic and two chef specials. We got the spicy tiny and Boston rolls along with a 1776 which included thinly sliced filet mignon on the outside. All of our rolls were well crafted and the fish felt and tasted as fresh as possible for being in a land locked state. We really enjoyed the 1776 but it wasn't something we'd get again. Where the steak was fine and it tasted good, it's not something that we want to circle back to. On a side note, the wasabi served with our sushi tasted like one would expect but didn't bring the heat as I'd hoped. I enjoy that burn in my nostrils! It didn't take away from the overall experience as it's simply my preference. To wrap up, our server did and excellent job. She was friendly and personable and made sure we always had full glasses. Speaking of flavor, I'm sure the special blended soy sauce played a major part. On top of that, there's chili sauce at the table & that right there has a Shawn Michaels super kick to it. With the bowl being full of chicken along with the other components like fish cake, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onion & a soft boiled egg (that's also flavored)... it's not even an overload. It's flavor on top of flavor on top of flavor. I couldn't even finish it & took it to-go. My waitress was super nice & the wait on my food didn't take long (they had a mini lunch rush when I got here). Outside of ramen, there's so much to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for ramen, sushi, bowls, etc... this is your spot. I was having a headache & really needed some food to help get rid of it (I was also in the area). Ramen usually does the trick & it prevailed as I started feeling better. Oishi came in the clutch.

There are claw machines at the front and back and sketchbooks with colored pencils on every table so you can draw while waiting for your food. The service is friendly - you order at the front counter and get a buzzer that buzzes when your food is ready at the pickup counter. The boba drinks are good. They have a decent selection of milk teas and fruit drinks as well as toppings. The boba pearls are done right, freshly made so they are soft and chewy like they're supposed to be. Once I ordered popping boba on accident (honey boba on the menu) thinking it was regular boba sweetened with honey and did not like it. They graciously switched it out with regular boba for me which I truly appreciated. My one recommendation would be to adjust the sweetness level if you prefer lighter drinks. The last time I visited I forgot to ask and it was a bit on the sweet side for me. I've also ordered poke and teriyaki bowls from them before and it was ok. The food was fine, it just didn't stand out to me. I usually come here for the drinks but would give the food another try given the good service and atmosphere. They have ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers like chicken karaage and kimchi fries. Overall I'd recommend Gung Ho as a solid hangout spot that's centrally located with good drinks and plenty of food options.

Aside from that, they ordered things off the Happy Hour menu and were pleased. Dan and I got the 2 Happy Hour rolls. We would have loved "Some Like it Hot" without the hot sauce. The Dunwell roll is good if you like cream cheese in sushi rolls and many people do. There was a time when Dan and I loved that but now our sushi preference is nigiri and our roll preference is whatever is the closest thing you can get to nigiri. We also don't like signature cocktails. We prefer both our drinks and our sushi to be as close to pure as we can get: martinis and nigiri . We frequently attend Happy Hour at a different In the Raw. We find the service and ambiance better where we usually go. The sake at Brookside was not good. It had kind of a soapy taste. We got domestic beers for our second drinks. We forgot to ask for glasses. Service was slow so we just drank them from the bottle, which we hate to do. The main plus for the Brookside restaurant is the location. During warm weather, the outdoor seating is fun. We had a fun evening with our granddaughter and her wonderful boyfriend. My advice to diners is to ask for the Happy Hour menu anytime you go to any restaurant between 2 PM and 7 PM. This isn't the only restaurant that has a Happy Hour but doesn't promote it. Happy Hour here is from 3 and 5. They don't give you a Happy Hour menu unless you ask for it. Check out my Happy Hour list.
