My family went last night to celebrate a birthday. The server was extremely inattentive and we had to ask multiple times for drink refills, dessert options, and the check. When the check arrived my husband noticed we had been charged full price for a child's meal and two salad bar only meals, an overcharge of approximately $60. If I went again I would know not to be intimadated by the constant flow of men with skewers walking to us asking if we wanted any...I mean it was every 3-4 minutes...you'd be in the middle of a conversation, break off to say yes or no, then pick up the conversation....then the whole cylce repeated itself. I don't know if salad bar only is an option, but I would totally go that route if I could. The meats are good, but that's not really what I typically go for. The garlic beef, especially was not even edible as it was totally fat. The lamb and the Parm chicken were my favorites. The table mashes potatoes were way too runny, borderline potato soup. Skip those. A must in my opinion is the mushrooms in gravy and the mint sauce from the bar. Both of these are good on everything. (Pro tip - dip the cheese breads in the mint sauce.) The table fried bananas are also excellent, my son ate nearly all of them. William our waiter was exceptional. Very friendly, and made sure to ask if there was anything we wanted to come by again. This is a great spot to celebrate! Definitely recommend this. Biggest bummer was that it's in the mall (totally lame vibe kill) but it's an exterior entrance so you can pretend it isn't. Our second time to eat at Texas de Brazil - we go about once a year - very expensive but extremely good. ADVICE: 1) Skip the salad bar. It's an amazing salad bar but trust me, save room for the good stuff! 2) Ask for the bacon-wrapped filet. In both of our experiences here, it was difficult to get. I would spot a server with a skewer of it across the restaurant and he wouldn't make it far before running out. Tell your server that you want it. 3) Occasionally take a bite of the cinnamon and honey banana to cleanse the pallet. Did you try something spicy and need to start over? Small bite of banana. 4) Save room and money for desert! The service was pretty good and the atmosphere is simple - just a lot of families and friends enjoying amazing food. This is a review on Texas de Brazil (71st in Tulsa), general manager's, JOHN, awful customer service. My husband and I dined here for the first time in March for our anniversary. At that time, during a convo with our server, the subject of my son's food allergies happen to came up. I told her that my 13 y/o has severe food allergies to peanut, tree nut, egg, and soy and he has never eaten restaurant food since he was dx at 18 mos due to cross-contamination concerns. She then said, "We have an allergen menu and we have a separate kitchen that only cooks our meats and a separate kitchen that only prepare/cooks the salad items. So our meats never touch the salad items and visa versa during preparation. Also, you can definitely ask to have his own skewer made and delivered straight from the kitchen to your table so it doesn't go from table to table. We have certainly done that before." The next time we dined here was for my daughter's graduation in May. I doubled checked again with our server about the skewer and he reaffirmed what we were told in March. Having successfully managed my kid's food allergies for 13 yrs, we were comfortable that the risk of cross contamination would be very very miniscule since they already have an allergen policy practice (already cooking meats in separate kitchen with separate utensils.) So we decided to take our son here for his first restaurant food meal on Sat July 5. I called the day before, July 4th, out of abundance of caution, and spoke with Jordan, one of the managers, and again she reaffirmed that they can definitely do a small skewer for my son and deliver it straight to our table so it doesn't go to the other tables." July 5th we come in and the general manager, JOHN, flat out refused to have the kitchen make a small skewer for my son. My husband told John, "2 different servers and a manager told us they can absolutely make him his own small skewer to go straight to our table so it doesn't go to the other tables to prevent cross contamination since he has severe food allergies to egg, tree nuts, peanuts, and soy." At which point John said, "We just do Not do that. I can have my carvers go to your table 1st when the skewer is first cooked so he gets served first before it goes to the other tables, but we can not make him his own skewer." Then I said, "how about putting a piece of each meat on a plate in the kitchen then bring that plate directly to our table that way it guarantees it didn't go to any other table." I said this because in my mind, there is a high chance of miscommunication with the carvers since a handful of them are going around the tables. Then John arrogantly said "No I'm Not going to do that. Like I said I could have the first cooked skewer go to your table 1st and then my carvers can put the meat on the plate that is already on your table." After going back and forth for few mins, we left and went to Longhorn Steakhouse in Tulsa (see my glowing review of Longhorn). JOHN has a big stick up his a** and refused to accommodate a simple request. I cannot fathom why they cannot just put freshly cooked pieces of each kind meat on a plate in the kitchen then bring it directly our table. After all isn't this a dine in restaurant? The ONLY reason we even considered this place for my kid's first time eating restaurant food was because of what the first server told us in March when my kid's food allergies happen to just come up during a casual convo. And NOT because I wanted my son to eat here in the first place. We were told 3 times at several different occasions, months apart by 2 different servers, and a manager that they can absolutely make my son his OWN skewer to be served STRAIGHT to our table and that the meats are always cooked in a separate kitchen and doesn't come in contact with the salad items. Had they said in the first convo, 2nd or 3rd inquiry, that they will Not do this, I would NOT have even bothered taking my son here even if they said the first skewer would go to our table first. We would have skipped disappointing my kid, skipped the hassle, and went about our business. No harm No foul. But we went cause of the same exact info. given to us 3x. And since we were already there and this was a special day for my kid, the absolute LEAST John could have done was fulfill our simple request which was plate a piece of the different types meats from the first skewers all at once while in kitchen and bring plate directly to our table (like every dine in restaurant) A SIMPLE task, NO additional major effort, NO special cooking instructions, Only done once, Only plating meat nothing else &NO seconds since it's a lot of meat. Geez..a very simple request just plate the damn meat and bring to our table. John conveniently forgotten he is in the food service business and decided it's worth loosing customers just so he can put his foot down. He has No compassion, unkind, and very arrogant. Tonight, I had delivered a churrasco plate and Brazillian cheesecake. The churrasco plate came with 2 meats - I chose Brazillian sausage and ribs- and two sides - I chose garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. The meats tasted delicious, the sausage was full of flavor and very tender and juicy, the ribs were overcooked, tough but had a pretty good flavor as well. The garlic mashed potatoes seem a little under-seasoned, but I prefer that when it comes to garlic. The sautéed mushrooms were swimming in what I think was soy sauce. It tasted nice, but there was too much sauce for me. And cheesecake was creamy and delicious, more dense than I am used to, but I loved it. What I didn't love were the nuts on it. I didn't know they were on the cheesecake, and I didn't really like them; Having said that, they were a small part of an overall delicious cheesecake. First requirement is to enter the doors super hungry! Love the ambiance inside. Lots of clean lines, massive light fixtures, beautiful flower arrangement over the salad bar, beefy tall doors, lots of seating, nice lighting, candles....it's pretty unique and beautiful inside. Napkin over lap kind of place but open dress code so not too stuffy feeling. We ordered the salad bar & meat. Basically you're free to go to the salad bar which is loaded with unique items, charcuteries, soup of the day, some hot items, some cold - very wide variety of upscale unique items. After you return to your table, staff walks all kinds of meats by and they'll plate it for you table side. Lots of desert items, all looked delicious - we tried the bananas foster and Brazilian cheesecake and both were awesome. They even wrote on the plates for the holidays we were celebrating - bonus! Only negative things were the pork seemed a bit over cooked & they had no beer on tap. We then ordered a Brazilian bottled beer but they were all out. Both things that are easily overlooked based on how amazing everything else was. They did have a large assortment of cocktails, wines, etc. Next time, I will try one of those for sure! First time visiting this restaurant. Food was awesome, salads especially fresh and lots of options for both salad fixings and charcuterie. The service however does not even come close to matching the quality or price of the food. When paying $250 for party of three, the service has to be on point! Sure we're there for the food but, for me, the experience counts for lot. The server was very sweet, not rude or anything like that. The problem is likely with management and/or ownership. Primary server and meat servers didn't seem very well trained which is a shame. I had to ask for used plates to be removed from the table three times. When I asked the meat server what cut the Garlic Steak was he responded "oh I don't know". What?! Isn't the meat selection the center of your entire business? It's a shame because the servers are losing out on tips. I am a good tipper but couldn't bring myself to tip 20% on $250 tonight. My sister had an empty water glass for most of the 2 hours that we spent there and we waited on the bill for close to 20 mins. If service was better I would likely have returned once a month. I hate writing negative reviews, but if it helps even one person save their money...worth it! I'm giving 2 stars because the salad bar is still mostly great. This place was *amazing* when they first opened. The meats, the variety, the service, all of it. I can't blame it on COVID as the quality started dropping off before that. Now, it's just not worth the price. You'll be asked how you like your meats cooked, but in reality they'll generally be raw or well done, usually well done. And DO NOT waste your money on the discount card. Those are good only Sunday - Thursday, nights which tend to be slower and good luck getting more than 2-3 meats coming around sporadically when they aren't busy. And my husband prefers the non-bacon wrapped filet...sometimes we get it, sometimes not, but it's usually leathery if we do. We go there primarily for the beef ribs. Good luck getting them these days. We always tell our server up front that we want the beef ribs. The better servers ask what your favorites are, but that doesn't always mean anything. I'd say the last few years, about 75% of the time the beef ribs would finally come around when we were full, our mashed potatoes are ice cold, and we are about to give up. And they were often chewy and over salted as opposed to melt in your mouth and perfectly seasoned back in the day. Finally on our visit Sunday 9-01...we never got the beef ribs at all. We did get some pork ribs that were charred to the point of being completely inedible. We waited an hour before finally getting the attentions of our disinterested wait person. We said that since we obviously weren't getting the beef ribs, we'd just like the check. They then asked if we wanted desert! Seriously! Could not care less that we never got the beef ribs. I asked to speak to a manager, WHICH I ALSO HATE. They fetched one, but I've worked in enough restaurants in my time to recognize the body language and fake obsequiousness of a manager who also could not care less...so I was just like, "Never mind. I'm out." So thus comes an end to our patronage of a restaurant that I once really really loved. If you haven't been in a while or are on the fence about eating here...save your money unless you like paying $50 a pop for a bunch of overcooked flank steak and sirloin. Which isn't an issue, common case of mistaken identity, being lightskinned, I get that a lot, "oh you look like my cousin", no big deal. So, I simply explain that I don't recognize him and I don't know him, you have me mixed up with someone else, nice to meet you, he INSIST that I do know him, we go back and forth, I ask him if he's ever hung out in these places, my hometown, no. Where I went to school, no. He seemed pretty adamant that he knew me, and spent a good 10 mins trying to figure it out, ‍ I don't know bro. Anyways, I asked for my steak to be cooked rare, it wasn't I feel he may have said something different to the cooks, and then every time dude came around he'd insist he knows me. It made my gf extremely uncomfortable, it made me uncomfortable. I spent $200 plus on a meal and got harassed by the waiter for a good majority of my visit, then to top it off, bro tops it off with a " good to see you again" when we leave, then we're walking through the mall and bro (Alex) struts by switching past me and my old lady, completely ridiculous, pretty sure he was stalking us. Idk, It's too late to ask for any compensation, it's whatever haven't been there since, food was mediocre for the price, but from here on out. It's Wons every time. I met with an old friend from OKC today and he offered to take me out to TDB and that's an offer that is impossible for me to resist. I'm a committed carnivore and I raised no vegetarians. But I could have filled up just on their delightful salad bar. We feasted on different chicken, pork, lamb and beef selections right off the skewer. They sliced them off right onto my tongs and I dragged them off onto my meat plate. Great atmosphere. Nice cocktail and wine list, and a great dessert menu as well. I gorged on medium rare beef until I finally had to turn my green "go" card over to the red,"stop, you are killing me!" side. I got a great cup of coffee and carrot cake to finish off the meal. The chicken was dry never got any lamb. I was treated to an after Christmas dinner with friends here recently. I had never been. Beware that it is a bit pricey but there is a LOT of food. Honestly (and I know I'm at a steak place), but the salad area (which is a LOT more than lettuce and greens) is outstanding. You absolutely could make a meal off the salad bar and hot bar area. I totally skipped the leafy offerings for the other items here: very parsley-ey tabbouleh, perfect asparagus, giant capers, stuffed grilled jalapenos (HOT), couscous salad, roasted peppers, potato salad, hummus, smoked salmon, and array of cheeses and charcuterie, etc. My most favorite discovery was their Pineapple Carpaccio. The Hot Bar offered soups, potatoes and mushrooms. It was a bit odd that the communal mashed potatoes and caramelized bananas were put on our table as soon as we sat down with our salad plates. (Come to think of it, we were told when we checked in for our reservation that since most of our party had never been there that we would get the "full experience" which I assumed meant a story about Brazilian cuisine. Never happened.) I didn't get to eat all of the salad offerings b/c one at our table flipped over her card. The onslaught was on. It was just a parade of gauchos with swords. There was a spicy beef that was really outstanding and the the bacon wrapped tenderloin was delicious as was the lamb. I wasn't a huge fan of the Parmesan chicken or some of the other cuts of beef. This is your typical Brazilian steakhouse. Which means it's great! A bit overpriced but still. The filets mignon is awesome every time. If they bring it by, say yes! Lamb chop impressed me because I normally hate lamb. Parmesan pork and chicken were both great. Garlic steak was good. Pork loin was good. Honestly just had a great time. They only get 4 stars because their fountain drinks are per glass. That's ridiculous. At $50, you can give people 2¢ soda. Oh! I almost forgot, our waitress was newer but she was AMAZING! There is something lacking about this location. This was our third time to this location specifically, and first time to write a review because the experience was so disappointing, especially at this price point. We went in Saturday for lunch, and were graciously offered a table even though we did not have reservations. The restaurant was probably halfway full. We sat and were invited to visit the salad bar, which had the usual offerings. This area was clean and inviting and everything tasted fresh. No complaints there. Our biggest issue was with the meats that were served. When they did make it around to our table, they frequently did not have the temp that we were looking for and they continuously came around with the same 5-6 meats. It was not uncommon for us to be sitting waiting on meat for 5 minutes or greater at a time with nothing on our plates. At $50.99 pp, we were anticipating better variety. Often, the meats that we got, especially the flank, were extremely salty and charred on the outside like they were trying to hastily cook it.
