This place is still my favorite Vietnamese Sandwich place!! Prices are still decent and I also love their Avocado slush!! So happy they keep their menu selection mainly the same for most. Service is decent here. This is a casual place and there is parking in the back.

Banh Tet cut and pan fried, very delicious!

This store has been a valley staple since forever! Prices are affordable and food is very tasty but don't expect clean and ideal place to dine in. It's best to get to-go. Bread is made in house in the morning so the earlier the better or else you'll get the classic issue of your sandwich tearing up your mouth. I love their dac biet #1 special sandwich, good amount of pate and stuffing. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient. If you speak Vietnamese they're incredibly excited to speak back in Vietnamese. Went here to get food for tet, their banh tet and banh Chung with dua mon is REALLY good here. Highly recommend it's the only place in the valley I know that offers them, and they're well priced for holiday seasonal food!

Amazing banh mi place!! The bread of the subs are always crunchy & feel fresh. The customer service is great & straight forward. It's a cool mom & pop shop, they have casual indoor seating for you to enjoy your sandwich inside or you can just order & go if you're in a rush. They also have different flavored slushy boba & great Vietnamese coffee!

Took a bite out of my sandwich and noticed a dead fly in my sandwich. Completely disgusting and an example of horrible quality control of this restaurants food. What's worse is when I went to show the worker the sandwich with the fly in it he disagreed and said it was "Black Pepper" than when I said look closely it's a fly he grabbed it then flicked it to the side. Completely unforgivable and avoidable if you show more care and understanding.

This is the very rude cashier, and the one who did our order. Beware of that woman!!

We tried this place because the VALLEY SANDWICH in Reseda Blvd (where I always order) was closed. We ordered #6, #9, and #12. The taste was just okay... nothing special. The liver pâté lacked flavor. And the service sucked! The woman at the register was so rude--while we were still deciding what to order, she shouted at us and said something we couldn't even understand. It was as if she was saying, "What's your order?" even though it was obvious we were still looking at the menu pictures on the wall. Then I paid using my card... an error occurred, and she said, "No money!" I felt so insulted. I tried again, and the payment went through. Then she started making our order. As we were watching, she shouted at us to sit down. But no--we wanted to see how it's done. My sister sat down anyway, worried she might skimp on our food. She may have been rude to cover up her lack of English. When we asked her about the food, she completely ignored us--it was obvious she had a hard time speaking English. This lady was soooo rude, it totally ruined my day! We will never ever be back. Oh--and your banh mi? So-so. Not even close to Valley Sandwich in Reseda!

    Aluminum in food

This place is a disaster, from a half hour wait for a 1 sandwich, to watching the cashier lady handle cash and cards and then grab bread by her bare hand to bag for customer. I got the number 6 which was mostly just fat pieces of pork, so I opened it up to try to remove the fat pieces and I found a piece of aluminum ( sandwich was wrapped in paper).

Grilled Pork Banh Mi (Banh Mi Thit Nuong) $9.50 04/22/2025

I came in on 04/22/2025 around noontime. Food: I only wanted to try their Banh Mi, but was also distracted by their other food displayed at the counter. Grilled Pork Banh Mi (Banh Mi Thit Nuong) ($9.50): The sandwich is huge. The pork was flavorful, I asked for extra pate ($1.00). The bread is crispy. Bo Bia ($9.50): They were selling it for 3/9.50. The rolls are huuuge. The peanut sauce and chili crisp pairs well with the rolls. Sesame Ball (Banh Cam) ($1.50): it was crispy on the outside, and the bean filling on the inside is not too sweet. Pairs well with coffee. Service: The service took a while which was understandable. Tons of people were ordering to go. But they prepared the food at a reasonable speed. I appreciate that. The lady at the cashier was kind to answer my questions and she recommended some food for me to try, and it was great! Atmosphere: The dining space was clean. A little bit loud, but it's a restaurant so that's expected. Overall the food tasted great. Would come back and try their other banh mi. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

I'm almost upset that this place has been here and I'm only just getting acquainted. This is a zero frills restaurant but I don't need ambiance when I can have a sandwich this freaking good. Food was made quickly and I ate it probably too quickly because seriously how do they make it taste this good??

She's been coming here since before they upgraded the space, and from what I understand it's run by brothers. The family is really nice, and it definitely has that local neighborhood spot feel. The main reason she brought me was for their **bún riêu**, but I have to be honest -- it didn't really taste like bún riêu to me. It was still good, but the broth had more of a tomato-y, clearer base and felt like its own soup rather than a true bún riêu. I was also surprised they didn't have **shrimp paste** available for it, which felt kind of odd. They do have **bánh bèo** and some other Vietnamese dishes, which I thought was cool, and overall everything we tried was okay. I've had a different soup from here before, and I've also gotten it delivered, and I'd say the experience is pretty much the same across the board -- decent, solid, nothing bad, but nothing that really stands out for me either. That said, I'd still come back because my girlfriend enjoys it, the family is sweet, and there aren't a ton of Vietnamese spots I've tried out in the Valley yet. It's one of those neighborhood places that's nice to have around, even if it's not something I'd personally go out of my way for.

This "joint" we were introduced to by a Vietnamese colleague seemed so unique and magical! It was nothing fancy, the tables were perpetually sticky.. but every morsel we tasted was served with such pride, and it was delicious. That was then. This is now. The interior has since been renovated, the furniture updated and gone are the tables wrapped in shipping tape and cardboard to keep them steady. It looks nice! The small side area of the building where the aunties used to clean and prep the fresh veggies, basil, mint, cilantro.. is now a full up boba bar with a sweet smiling lady behind the counter. There were no less than 6 employees wandering in the dining area and not one addressed us when we walked in until we called out to them. I'm no royalty demanding to be served like a princess, but can you say HI and offer a table? They have at least a dozen tables in the dining room, and only 2 had patrons so they weren't busy. It was around 6:30pm so the dinner rush had passed. We needed to wait about 10-15 minutes for friends to arrive so we asked for menus, water and I ordered a salted Plum Soda which you can't really find at too many places outside of Orange County. It was refreshing on a hot day! I was shocked to see how abbreviated the menu had become. Out of the Pho So 1 locations we have been to, we always felt this one had more dishes to choose from including desserts. This menu looked shorter than the one in Granada Hills (on Devonshire) and when I asked one of the young ladies about the dishes I can come for, she shriveled her nose and said "we don't have that". In particular I wanted Bun Cha Ha Noi.. and was suggested to get Bun Thit Nuong as a substitute. Ok, they both have pork and both have a form of rice noodle, but that's where the similarities end. When our friends arrived, they sat down and immediately they wanted to take our orders. Friends asked for drinks and some time to peruse the menu. After a few more visits to take the meal order we finally made our decisions. The food came out quickly. This is always on point at the Pho So 1 locations. No complaints! But our friends had to ask again for their drink orders and got a little side eye. They asked nicely and were nothing but polite. This just didn't feel right. The experience was so lackluster I didn't even take any pics and if you've seen my other reviews, that's not me at all. Am I spoiled because I've been exposed "the good stuff" in our adventures to San Gabriel Valley? Maybe. But I'd still go back to the Pho So 1 spots in Gardena (the guy who manages there is amazing and should give lessons!) and Granada Hills (Devonshire, not the newer one on Chatsworth which was also disappointing). Leaving this here so my fond old memories don't bring me back to this spot in Reseda. 30+ years later, there are a lot of other choices to satisfy the need for Vietnamese food.

The bread tasted crisp and chewy, and overall it was something that filled me up for what I needed. My friend got a vermicelli bowl and felt like the overall dish was also okay, and that the fish sauce could have been more flavorful since that's usually a highlight for her. There was a bit of a long wait for it, like almost 20 minutes. We definitely chose to eat it to-go since the interior is also small and there's about 3 tables or less. They do offer an extensive menu though and I was pretty tempted to buy a drink and try it out from here. Parking lot is entered through Reseda and there's a whole area of the lot that's been fenced off for the longest. Might be hard to enter or exit if it's a busy time because of traffic. No bathrooms! We were so hungry for Thai food and ordered about 3-4 items. Spoiler alert, we could not finish everything but it was all so good and delicious!!! I wanted beef jerky, a dish I always order from thai restaurants but I couldn't find it on the menu. Luckily there was such a thing when I ordered!!! The beef jerky was chewy and not super hard when I bit it. The meat was good quality, it was a bit like steak to be honest!!! The fried rice was also just regular order but it was so tasty, buttery, and yummy. I loved the honey roasted ribs because it was so tender and flavorful. The panang curry was also super super good. I don't usually enjoy curry like that because it gets too spicy but the mild level was perfect for my taste buds and so good and creamy with the chicken we ordered for it. The white rice it came with would be doused with the curry sauce/stew and it would just be an amazing combo of flavors!!!! I would definitely recommend this spot, and would be excited to come back here for more for even hangouts with friends.

The beef itself was flavored but wasn't too tasty, nothing the fish sauce helped with either. After the meal, I also enjoyed a cup of Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and this stuff was STRONG. I'm no stranger to this drink, but the coffee itself was fairly bitter and concentrated - more than normal. The condensed milk? Almost felt like a quarter can, too! Even after diluting it (through their ice) with half water, it was still too sweet and bitter - do not recommend. Paying was fairly easy, but it was through Zelle or cash - awkward!
