Despite their lack of stellar service, the food is usually pretty good. That kept me coming back but they really missed the mark the last time I went. Usually, the service isn't bad but definitely not welcoming. The Bahn mis are delicious, and I noticed a lot of people come to buy the bread. The prices are affordable too. Easy parking as they have a parking lot adjacent to them. The last time I went, it was around 6 pm and no one helped me for a good while. No other customers in the store, employees doing other tasks, everything but manning the register. I had to get someone's attention after it got very long and awkward. It was inconvenient but not a big deal. However, when I got home I found a piece of hair inside my sandwich. Just want to say I did not give them attitude lol, so I'm pretty sure it was an accident...? Sufficed to say I won't be back for the foreseeable future. I have been a customer here for a very, VERY long time, nearly 20 YEARS! The customer service has always sucked. I've been on the receiving end plenty of times, and I've witnessed it plenty of times while dining in, too, ESPECIALLY to non-Vietnamese customers. I paid cash, didn't get a receipt or change. OK. It was busy. I ordered a #1. I heard them call #1 and I went to grab it and someone else, who I saw come in after me, grabbed it and ran off with it. I said something, I was ignored, then another customer berated me and accused me of cutting. He started speaking Vietnamese to the employees who then suddenly changed their demeanor towards me. On top.of that, the customer tried to "fight me." WHAT? Elderly man or not, I told him to go to sleep. The store was dead when I walked in, became VERY busy after I ordered, and the place was emptied out and I was the LAST customer to be served. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
