I bought my car here, and the sales rep was very kind and helpful. He contacted me immediately once he found a used car that met my requirements for the type of car I was looking for and communicated with me before and even after I bought the car to make sure I was happy with my purchase. On the other hand... the service center service was absolutely atrocious. I sat for 30 minutes at the front of the line without anyone giving me any information on what was going on. Every car behind me left and then after 10 minutes after everyone left, someone finally came up to my car asking if anyone came up to get my information, I replied no, then he stated that people will be heading to lunch soon and they are about to be short on people and it may take 2 hours or more JUST to get information on what's going on with the car I just bought a week ago. If you can help it, bring your car to a different service center. I was told by someone that works at service that the sales reps and service employees have poor communication and don't understand how it works in the service center. I've never been to a ford in Michigan when I lived there that had poor communication between the sales rep and the service center. Overall terrible experience if you want to get your car fixed here. read more

The professionalism here is unreal. This is a very laid back and non gimmicky dealership. No crazy gongs, no crazy music playing, good old fashion dealership. You MUST work with Jerry. He is fantastic and will listen to your needs in what you want in a car or truck. He also asked what my mom was currently in so he could tell her what was comparable and it was a completely different brand of car. He knows his stuff. No pressure. Also, even the front desk staff was amazingly nice. They even followed up with us to make sure we were okay. We were offered water by a different employee just passing by. So sweet. Dealership is also spotless inside and out. Diner looks cute as hell but was closed when we were here. Also, Mark the VP is super sweet. Please consider this ford dealership over all others. My daughter was in many minor accidents over the years and we had a couple different vehicles at various body shops over the years. James was by far the most credible, honest, and communicative contact I have experienced. He was patient when we first met even when I was irate about my interactions with my own insurance company AAA. He walked me through the process, provided an estimate for repair within a couple hours, and contacted me every other day with an update on progress. Went there because I heard they were the best. I made an appointment for 9:00AM to have a braking system recall done. I was told that they would not actually get to my car until later that afternoon (sigh). I used their courtesy transport to return home and received a call about 5 hours later that my car was done and the courtesy vehicle was on its way to pick me up. When I checked out and went to my car, I was surprised that they had not done a courtesy wash, like other dealers. Staff was friendly and efficient. The good news is that I now have Brake. Bottom line is I had an appointment, but still was without my car for a full day. I will not drive the extra mile, if the dealership will not go the extra mile. read more

Mike P was so helpful when my car had broken down. I had originally called Peoria Ford and the customer service was awful and I ended up hanging up on them and called Sanderson Ford. Mike went out of his way to help me even though I was calling about 30 minutes prior to close (something Peoria Ford pushed to the side and wanted to address the next day). Mike ensured I had Ford's coverage with towing and set me up with a rental to be ready the following morning. He gave me all the pricing breakdown and made it so easy. My car was fixed right away the next day in a very timely manner and he kept me informed throughout the entire process. DO NOT BUY A HYBRID!!! IF YOU HAVE ONE TRUST THE INTERNET, NOT THE DEALER TO FIX IT! I have a 2006 Hybrid escape and no one can fix it. The ABS light would come on along with the service engnie soon light. The breaks would kick into manual (making you stand on them to stop the car) and the hybrid charging system would disengage (because it is charged by the ABS system). I brought it to Sanderson. First of all, they don't stock hybrid parts so plan on a rental car for 4-7 days while parts come in. To fix the breaks I was told I needed to replace the hybrid cooling fan, $800. They told me the service engine light meant the hybrid battery was overheatng and this was causing the ABS system to malfunction. I picked up the car and drove 4 blocks when the breaks went out again. I had it towed back. This time the head mechanic looked at it and told me how much it scared him when the breaks suddenly went out during his test drive (welcome to my world). So now I am told I need the ABS computer and master cylinder replaced. My extended warranty company agreed to replace only the master cylinder (a cost of $400 for me plus another week of car rental waiting for the part). I was concerned because Sanderson said both the ABS computer and master cylinder needed to be replaced but Sanderson assured me it is impossible to separate the parts so the extended warranty company must be sending the complete unit. Guess what, only the master cylinder came. It was replaced. That repair lasted less than 60 days and again no brakes. Once again returned and now it was a ground wire repair ($250 of which they discounted $100 for my trouble). That repair actually did the trick. (too bad they took out a factory master cylinder that was working to replace it with the remanufactured part bought by the warranty company). About a month later the service soon light came back on. This time I went to the internet to look for the cause. Apparently this is a sign the hybrid battery is overheating. However, the cause is usually not the hybrid cooling fan (that was already replaced) but a $9 air filter (which was never checked by Sanderson). My advice, verify everything, If they say the fan does not work, make them start up the car and show you. Search the internet first. I found both the ground wire and air filter repair on ford hybrid chat rooms. If I had started, there the $1200 in repairs + 3 weeks of rental cars would have cost $250 (ground wire) and $9 for the air filter. read more

Bought a brand new truck from Sanderson Ford November 2015. After driving it for 7000 miles it started to act up. We took it in, they worked on the valves and it now runs worse. It has been in the shop 6 or 7 times, they say it's in the "normal range" and will not fix it. Ford knew some of the engines were bad but did nothing about it, now we are stuck with a $60,000 truck that will probably never run right and Ford said they are not going to work on it because it's in the normal range. Stay away from Sanderson Ford!!!! Wish we would have bought a Dodge.. Dave, I do not feel Sanderson Ford did everything in their power to help us. Even your mechanics hear that there is a problem, but because you sent out a Ford representative and he put it on a machine and said it's in the normal range, the mechanics can't do anything. Our mileage went from 18/19 mpg to 14 mpg after you worked on it the first time, but it's still in the normal range! This is our second vehicle from Sanderson Ford, We purchased a brand-new F350 in 1997 and had it for 18 years with very few problems which is why we bought another F350 in 2015 from you. Not only do we have issues with our truck, which by the way is our company vehicle that pulls our concession trailer you told us to come pick it up there's nothing wrong with it. Then you had our brand-new truck appraised and we were told we would be better off trading it in for another new truck but it's going to cost us $9700 to do it. So basically we need to trade in our new truck that does not work good for another new truck that may not work good and give you an additional $10,000. That's what you call working with us. We are not the only people that are having the same issues, just look online. Ford even knew there was a problem before we bought our truck. We also paid for your $3000 extended warranty. So we can't even take it to another diesel mechanic to look at it or our warranty is void. And Ford won't look at it because your representative said it's in the normal range. I am not here to bash Sanderson Ford or ford corporation. I just want my truck fixed, I want my truck to last like my other truck. read more

I am at Sanderson Ford right now. I brought my 2015 f-250 to them because my low tire pressure light kept coming on. Nothing else wrong with my 1 year old truck. They reset it, no problem and I drive out and the radio doesn't work. I come back and they tell me it is not there fault that the radio doesn't work and I will have to pay to fix it. It worked when I got here, why should I pay to fix something they caused? So I wait for the boss and he wants me to tell him how they broke it. I am not a mechanic and do know what they did but if this doesn't get fixed I will never use this dealer again. They are checking it out now and have agreed to diagnose it for free. Although they said I will have to pay for any repairs. I am rating them a two star because they have agreed to diagnose for free. But this is no way to conduct business. If you bring a mechanic your vehicle and after repairing it there is something new damaged then pick another mechanic. I waited to finish this post. After looking at my system it turns out there was a glitch and they just had to reset my system. I started this post thinking I would rate them a 1 and then went to a 2. I am rating them a 3 because in the end I am leaving with out spending money. Please Sanderson, next time acknowledge that the problem could be you and deal with your client the way you would want to be dealt with. read more

We went there on Saturday to look at some of the used cars they had on-line. We already had financing through our credit union and had check in hand. The sales manager really did not want to work with us since they we were not financing through them, and did not want to deal with a credit union check. We found a Chevy and filled out the paperwork. Sales manager would not allow us to take vehicle unless we applied for alternate financing. We said no and they said the car would be brought to us in Prescott on Monday after they talked to the credit union (Navy Federal). We will not buy another vehicle from them again. As a vendor for Sanderson, I was always aware of the size and reputation. Even though we serviced both locations, I bought my 2011 Fusion SEL at the Lincon-Mercury location just because it was there and caught my eye immediately, and I got an amazing deal on it. I love this car. I have brought it to both locations for service. The service at Ford is great, but it is extraordinary at Lincoln-Mercury. Terri was the Service Manager when I bought my car, and though she is gone, Ken Van Buren hasn't missed a beat. It just seems a little faster. Ford is a bigger dealership and they are busier. At L/M, I didn't just get get an oil change and tire rotation, but a free car wash too. Those little extras make me keep coming back. Kudos to both locations for being a fine reputable business, but a special tip of the hat to Sanderson L/M. read more

I would give ZERO if I could. I feel like we really got the run around here. Please if you like your car at all do not take it to this body shop. We really wanted to like Sanderson Ford but they really messed up. Lazy workmanship on our car and a lack of responsibility for how it turned out. What could have been an easy fix has just turned into an awful situation. The issue with our car is still on-going and I will update with more details in a few weeks. As of right now they refuse to take responsibility for something that is incorrect and claim that "that's the way it is supposed to be". I believe they can correct this error if they so choose and am hoping they will. read more

My review relates to the service you can expect from Sanderson Ford. I have an older F-150 and needed help figuring out how to re-program the keyless entry keypad on my truck. I started by using their live chat on the website. I explained everything to the rep there and left my name, phone number and even my email address. I was told that one of their service reps would contact me. I waited for over a week and received no word from them. So, I decided to call them and again I left my phone number and email address with the lady on the phone. I even explained that I was not very happy that I had already left that info over a week earlier and had not heard from anyone. She assured me that someone would call me. Well, it has been 3 days now and i have STILL not heard a word from anyone at Sanderson Ford. I am sure that my problem is going to mean I have to take my vehicle in to get scanned or something and I will incur some sort of charge for the re-programming, which I was prepared to pay. Is Sanderson Ford so busy that they don't need my money or am I just not important enough because I am not buying a 20-60 thousand dollar car or truck? This is my first dealings with Sanderson Ford and I have to say it is not a great one at all!! Maybe when it is time to buy my new truck, I should find a dealership that has a better service dept!? read more

We were excited and ready to buy a Ford Explorer! After many hours of research, my husband found the ideal Ford Explorer on Sanderson's web site last Saturday. It was the perfect color, and had all the features we wanted. He called the dealer and spoke with a salesman, "Larry", and gave him the information on the Ford Explorer we wanted to buy. The salesman, who has been with the company for 13 years, assured my husband they had the vehicle, and emailed him a proposal. The price looked good to us and Larry said he would prepare paperwork in expectation of our visit to Sanderson on Monday (they are closed on Sundays). On Monday morning, my husband called Larry to tell him we were on our way. We drove 30 miles to the Sanderson dealership. When we met with Larry, he had done nothing to prepare for our visit. We showed him the proposal he had sent us and told him (again) which vehicle we wanted to buy. He spent the next half hour locating the Explorer on his computer and then took us outside so he could drive us to see the Explorer, which was in the "back lot." He drove us around and around the dealership's parking lots looking for the Explorer, all the while telling us irrelevant stuff like how big the dealership was, how they have live guards 24 hours a day and touting the great variety of vehicles they sell. After what seemed like an hour, he couldn't locate the Explorer, and he finally stopped and went into an office. When he came out, he informed us that it "must have been sold, and somebody forgot to log it in." Larry said it wasn't his fault so he didn't see a need to apologize. Don't waste your time here. My experience at Sanderson Ford was extremely rude and unprofessional. I went there ready to purchase a car outright. No financing, no credit, nothing tricky I get the car they get my money. The particular car was a model I've been looking at for weeks and have decided upon previous to going down there. So that means no browsing, no test driving, no run around. Pretty much a dream come true for a place wanting to sell a vehicle. Unfortunately I guess my money must be no good to them. When I showed up I was greeted by a salesman named Robert Collins he was friendly and we talked for maybe 5 minutes. He said he wouldn't be in a position to answer some of my questions and a manager would be the better person for me to talk to. He brought me inside to speak to a manager named Andy Reece. He was very unhelpful and rude from the beginning. I was not invited to sit down so we could discuss the deal or reach a agreement. Usually your welcomed in and made to feel very comfortable. So I was surprised by the entire demeanor he gave. He clearly made the assumption that my ability to purchase the car outright in the manner I intended was something that wouldn't be possible for me, and pretty much didn't want to be bothered with me. He told me that the price I had been told was what he offered and to take it or leave it. I've been to many dealerships and never had one so uninviting and not interested in making a sale as this one. I'm sure he may not be accustomed to someone of my appearance to be able to walk in to a dealership and be able to purchase a car outright. But the mistake was his and they just lost one of the most cut and dry sales they could have possibly made. And I highly recommend if you're looking to spend your hard earned money on a vehicle go to a dealership that appreciates your business the value of customer service. My wife had bought from Sanderson Ford about 15 years ago with her Mustang and later traded it in for a Ford Sport Trac. She loved dealing with Sanderson. We had to look for a car after getting rear ended and they totaled my vehicle and I was not looking forward to a car payment after more than 10 years. However the buying experience was great, test drives were great, without a sales person in the car listening to your conversations about the car. We looked at different places but came back to Sanderson because of inventory of vehicles, closeness to home, the service center and just the whole buying experience without feeling pressured. ( I had gone to one dealer and after buying I emailed her to let her know we bought a vehicle and she emailed me back and said I did not give her a chance ) So thanks to everyone at Sanderson for the experience of buying without feeling like bad when I walked out. I met Tom "The Preacher" and test drove a used Mazda I had seen on AutoTrader. Tom was friendly and genuine. More importantly, he never tried any hard-sell tactics. Rather he showed me the car, allowed me to drive it and, when I told him I had a few others I wanted to drive prior to making a decision, gave me his card and asked me to call him should I want to discuss numbers on the Mazda. I received a brief "Thank You" via text the next day and a week after that a short inquiry asking: "Are you still in the market for the Mazda 3?" I ultimately did not buy the Mazda 3 and thus did not buy from Tom...but had it been the right car for me I would have felt good about doing business at Sanderson Ford and with Tom. I found the respectful way they treat the customer to be a refreshing rarity in the industry. read more

FEMALE CUSTOMERS Beware of the SERVICE Department better off trying a small shop or any other dealership. Helping a young female with some car issues and requesting that service adviser contact me! Well, first call was to the female and last call was to the female (the 2 most important calls). Car was not fixed properly and service adviser was made aware of it right away. He informed the female that they cannot assume that the radio & AC was working before the car arrived, it was! He never informed me! She has been driving it all summer with a 2 year old. He informed her that they could check it for a diagnosis fee 135$. I guess it was easier to talk to the female and explain the technical details of their work than myself. During my visit to pay for first repair I went to look at a truck a f250 salesmen was so proud of how good Sanderson Ford's reputation was. Times have changed and this place is no longer reputable in my eyes. They did offer to diagnosis the problem after I had a conversation with the service advisory. NO THANK YOU! They should have made the offer the 10 minutes after she brought back her car and realized it was in no better shape. Please be careful when choosing a dealership just because they have been around a long time doesn't mean they have integrity. This place is a poor example of integrity and it is my opinion that they take advantage of individuals who don't know or understand cars. read more
