Wow the effect amazing team at sands would not hesitate to send all my friends and family

A description of what I experienced

I don't recommend this place to anyone. Nothing but scam vibes emitting from this place. I did not have a "SERVICE BREAK ASSIST" light on when I left my car there and now I need a vacuum pump. I really do believe they swapped parts with a white Chevy Cruze they had my car parked close by Cruze. Something isn't right here. I asked to see video and they declined. Going live on TikTok when I go back to ask questions and document something

Great customer service from Blas, Garry our finance guy was amazing, answered all my questions and was fighting to get us a lower monthly payment. This is our 3 time buying a vehicle and honestly the best experience so far

So this is going to be a very long review so bear with me. The "service" (a very loose term) they provided was over the course of several months. So we took our 2014 Chevy truck (which we purchased new and have completed all recommended maintenance) in for an oil leak. The service advisor, Justin told my husband it was the main rear seal. He quoted us xyz and also told us the vehicle needed new belts and hoses and it we also did the additional service he wouldn't charge us labor for those repairs. So we trusted him and had everything done. Took about a week, $2500 later. Fast forward a month. Imagine our surprise when it starts leaking oil again in the same exact spot. Take it back. Now they say it's the timing cover. But wait, it's leaking in the same exact spot. Some song and dance it just looks like that, it's over spray from driving. Another $1400 they call that it's ready. My husband pulls out of the lot and his check engine light comes on. He turns around and takes it back. Two hours later they say it's good. Driving the 10 minutes home my husband keeps hearing a rattling noise. He goes to back into the garage and hears a BOOM. Well, they had left a Mag light in the engine compartment along with the caps and aluminum seals from the oil bottles. He calls. They say, we will come pick it up tomorrow to make sure the flashlight didn't do any engine damage when it hit the serpentine belt and shot out the bottom of the engine, we'll wash it and fill it up with gas while it's here for the inconvenience. They pick it up about 9 from our home. At about 10:30 Justin calls my husband. He has good and bad news. The good news is the engine is perfect. The bad news is it's been involved in an accident with a lot attendant while in their care. WHAT?. They tell my husband not to worry they will give us a rental and replace the front quarter panel. No shoddy bondo, they will replace and repair everything correctly. Three days later they say it's ready. The invoice list of repairs is long. They removed and replaced the quarter panel, the wheel well liner, the mud guard, the bumper, blah, blah, blah listed with the charges they are billing their insurance company for reimbursement. Well, they did none of that. They bondo'd the fender panel and there is over spray on the door, and they didn't remove anything. My husband removed the wheel liner and massive amounts of leaves and debris fell out. They have now committed insurance fraud. Charging for repairs that clearly weren't done. What have they charged us for that wasn't repaired? How can you trust anything this dealership says. Clearly they don't value your vehicle. Within six weeks we spent $4000 at this dealership and they couldn't have given two sh!ts. Stay far, far away. Do not trust a word they say, it's all lies. Every person at Sands lied to my husband. Not one person was honest.

    My price is possession.

I've had great service from them. They do most everything I've asked. The service people are very helpful and knowledgeable.

He was on time, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. He explained everything in a way that made sense, didn't try to upsell anything unnecessary, and made sure the job was done right. My A/C is now blowing cold again like it should, and the car is running perfectly. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about doing a quality job. On top of that, the convenience of him coming to me saved a lot of time and hassle. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for reliable and honest mobile mechanic work.

However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.

Sheila was the first to respond, and when she sent over the quote, I almost couldn't believe it. AZ Auto Repair and Body had the best price by a long shot. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted by the owner, Mike, with a warm handshake. Even with a lot full of cars, he assured me they'd squeeze me in -- which was a huge relief. In no time at all, my oil change was done, and they genuinely thanked me for coming in. What really stood out to me was the integrity. Not once did they try to upsell me on anything I didn't need -- no pressure, no surprise add-ons, just straightforward and honest service. That alone sets them apart. This place is an absolute gem. Everyone was warm, professional, and kind -- something that's surprisingly hard to find in the automotive world. This is officially my new go-to shop. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving them a try. You won't find friendlier people or better prices.

Without indicating there was ANY cost involved whatsoever, Front Desk Guy sweetly asked "would you like us to give it a once-over?" Which, since I was at that time a regular customer, I THOUGHT that meant just give it a safety-check out of courtesy to a repeat, publicly complimentary, senior-citizen client that they maybe cared for! How wrong I was. After having it several days, they tell me that they can't fix the original problem because they "Couldn't find the part - and wouldn't install an after-market part off of Ebay" (My car is a 1999 w/ low mileage) Then the real Clinker after 3 days: They call and say, "We couldn't fix your problem, but come and get your truck and pay Christian Bro's nearly $200 bucks for a "diagnostic" that I WAS NOT INFORMED UP FRONT would cost anything at all! But also, this 'Diagnostic' informs me that my truck needs OVER $4300 DOLLARS in servicings and repairs - Including NEW BRAKES that, apparently the "Diagnostic expert" wasn't aware had been replaced by them on that very truck a few months earlier! I felt totally taken advantage of and complained to the manager, John, who gave me some "yada yada" and stated that that particular employee working the front desk was fired - However, and this is the whole point of the story - This manager of this multi-million dollar, allegedly 'Christian', gold-mine on the corner of Thunderbird & 75th Ave would NOT refund all, or any part, of this deceitful charge with a humble apology for their unscrupulous employee (note: Failure to disclose a COST right up front is a LIE ) Not only that, but Upsell #1 opened the door for MEGA-UPSELL #2 of $4,319 dollars! I STILL look back at this lengthy report with shock and awe. According to this diagnostic that I didn't ask for, there's no reason, whatsoever, my truck is still able to roll down the street. According to them, practically EVERYTHING on my vehicle is on it's last couple of miles.; Lastly, and final insult to my patronage, my age, my intelligence, nor would Christian Brothers even offer a discount or a half-off on the next visit to them. You know, a way of saying, "We still want your business". I think they saw a senior-woman and saw a dumb sucker ready to be plucked out of the stream of suckers. In that lone experience, I learned Christian Brothers is all about "Show me the $ MONEY $" They are only after the money, and customer retention is completely moot. They could care LESS if you are a returning customer. I am no longer using Christian Brothers for any auto repair needs. If anyone knows of an HONEST, caring, competent auto mechanic around Peoria/Glendale please be so kind as to DM me. I'm shopping for one. **I tried to scan & copy the actual Invoice from this incident, but for some technological mystery beyond me - I couldn't get this file search in Yelp to access where I am sure I put the two files.**
