We took our car in to Half Price Auto because it wouldn't pass emission we needed a catalytic converter and a wheel hub bearing I do have receipts totaling $1700.00. It still didn't pass emissions. We took it to another garage where we were told half priced installed an under market converter that would never work for our 2008 Buick and the wheel hub was disconnected. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! In November, my car was losing oil. When I took it to Half Price Auto, they said that oil was going into the engine coolant. The engine was sputtering when I hobbled in from Quartzsite - 120 miles away. They said it needed the oil drained and a new engine cooler. I had just had the oil changed, and that company didn't say there was an issue. I had 2 -5-quart oil containers inside, and I said Just use that oil and not charge me for oil. They took both containers and didn't tell me they were taking both, so I was out $35.00. After waiting 7 hours for service at the time I left, I wanted to take a picture of the coolant reservoir and the man said Hurry up, I want to close the gate. When I got home, it was sputtering again. Called them several times and left messages, and then I asked for the Manager named Tomas. He said bring it back. I said it won't make it. He said he would check into it. Every time I called he brushed me off and said they had to look at it to determine what they did wrong or if anything new was wrong. I said it is doing exactly what I brought it in to you to fix. he said you have to tow it back. I said that it is your responsibility. He never got back to me. Then, when I caught him there one day, he said he was going ot look into his personal AAA to have it towed. Then, I never heard from them again. I had the work done again here in Quartzsite for $288.00. I'm now out the $1000. +30. cc charge. $100.00 for a new diagnostic and $288.00. When I disputed the charge with my CC company. Half Price stated, I declined to bring it back in. DECLINED??? It wouldn't drive! How was I supposed to get it back there? You never returned my calls. I had to have what you didn't do fixed here in Quartzsite. I am filing another dispute because when they wrote, I declined returning it. That was a false statement. This was after they charged me $300 to "add" refrigerant to my vehicle. Once I got my car back, the a/c was not working even with the "refrigerant they added" because it needed a repair that costs $2.7k. I took my vehicle elsewhere and that place stated no refrigerant was added. Once the other place added the refrigerant, my a/c was blowing cold!! Please do your research before you take a car to a mechanic, especially if you have mechanical insurance. In my opinion best place to take it is the dealership which they provide a ride back with insurance or AMC mechanic, they're a very honest mechanic. So I took my 2019 Toyota Camry just for a check engine light and the key that won't work even with batteries and at the end they never fix the key and the car stills shakes like a washing machine when I get on the freeway and supposedly it was fix. They charged the insurance almost 2k plus I had to pay $600 out of pocket and I don't know what I was thinking when I sign that scammer payment plan they offer. I called to take my car again for them to check it and now they said I have to make an appointment until Monday to check it and I can't be carless until than. They should change their company name to extra full price auto repair because they're more expensive than a dealership and they won't do the job right. Now I am stuck with an unfix car and all the lights on, plus they wanted me to change the car breaks with them and I said no because they wanted to charge me more than 1k and I took it to just breaks with a coupon and I only paid $670. I am very disappointed with this place and please read reviews. I asked them to diagnose and tell me what I needed to fix to turn off my engine light. the car stayed there for a week and one day. the only honest thing that I've heard is that my brake fluid was contaminated. The jobs that I denied were valve adjustment, transmission replacement, oil change ( I did it two weeks before I came to the shop) and something to do with the fuel. I payed $113 for not receiving a clear answer on how to turn off my engine light for multiple misfires while idling and a P1739 code that identifies the 3rd clutch transmission pressure switch is acting up. Yup let's just replace the whole entire transmission asking $3000 for just a fucking switch on the transmission and pay $1700 to adjust some valves inside my engine. sounds good. suck my dick read more

They forgot to hook up a line going to my turbocharger and I had to go back. Don't know how they missed that during the test drive unless they never did bother with checking out their work. I call to make an appointment to get car serviced. I was advised that first come first serve. I dropped my car off at 7am I was the first consumer there in the AM. I advised them that My check engine light was on .. rep told me they will take a look at it and call me back. I never received a call . So I called them at 2pm. First they could not tell me what was wrong then wanted to charge me for not telling me what was wrong then when I go to pick up my car it has no signs of being broken into so my key was used(and the shop had the keys to my car). No call, i called them at 2 and they promsed to call me back in 10 min. No call till 5pm. Informed them to proceed with radiator fix . They said no reading of service engine light. No call from them so on Friday at 10 i called to get status. Promised another callback in 10 min. No call. Called them on Monday for status and told another 10 min callback No callback again.
