We went in to get our recent college graduate a car so that he could leave for the Army. We went to Liberty after seeing a car advertised with 40k miles. We test drove the car and noticed that it had 60k miles. We asked for a lower price and they said no and this was just a mistake. We asked if the car had ever been in an accident and to see the Carfax. We were told there were no accidents and only given the front page of the Carfax. As I looked at the carfax, while my son filled paperwork, I noticed I only had page 1 of 4 of the Carfax. I asked for the rest of the pages and found the car had been in a few accidents. My name is Edwin Vargas, and I am submitting this complaint regarding my recent vehicle purchase and subsequent experience with the dealership. On December 31, 2025, I purchased a truck from the dealership. I arrived already pre-approved through my credit union for $35,000. The salesperson and I agreed on an out-the-door price of $39,000, and I agreed to pay the $4,000 difference out of pocket. During the financing process, the finance manager, Chip, contacted my credit union directly without informing or consulting me and arranged for a higher loan approval. Despite this, he still insisted that I provide the additional $4,000 out of pocket, even though the deal terms had already been agreed upon. This lack of transparency marks the beginning of my complaint. On January 9, only nine days after the purchase, the truck abruptly shut off while I was driving approximately 55 mph on the freeway with my son in the back seat. This nearly caused a serious accident. I immediately contacted the dealership and was instructed to bring the vehicle to the service department, where it has remained since. Later that same day, the service manager, Steve, left me a voicemail stating that the issue had occurred only once and that they were unsure of the cause. On January 12, I was informed that the issue was believed to be a motor mount and that the vehicle would be ready by January 14. After conducting my own research, I learned that a motor mount would not cause a vehicle to shut off while driving. When I attempted to speak with management, I experienced significant delays and resistance. It was not until I returned with my godfather--who helped provide half of the funds for the purchase--that we were able to speak with the sales manager, Wenstin. During that conversation, Wenstin himself stated that these trucks are dangerous and acknowledged known engine failure and recalled components. Despite this, he indicated that he could not resolve the issue and scheduled a meeting with the General Manager, Christopher. On January 15, we met with Christopher and explained the situation in full, including the freeway shutdown and the service department's inconsistent explanations. Christopher acknowledged that a motor mount would not cause the vehicle to shut off. At that point, I requested that the dealership take back the vehicle, as I no longer felt safe driving it. He refused, stating that the paperwork had already been signed, but asked for 24 hours to further investigate. The following day, Christopher left a voicemail stating that the dealership planned to update the throttle body--yet another unrelated component--still without explaining the cause of the freeway shutdown. I returned his call and clearly explained my position: the vehicle had undergone excessive repairs within days of purchase, continued to depreciate while in service, and had proven unsafe. I no longer wanted the vehicle. Additionally, after speaking with other GMC dealerships, I was informed that a vehicle shutting off at freeway speeds is extremely dangerous and unacceptable under any circumstances, including during a reconditioning process. This incident placed my child and me at serious risk. Christopher responded in an aggressive tone, stating that the dealership would not take the truck back and that they were simply following GMC policy by repairing it. I questioned how such a dangerous issue passed the dealership's pre-sale inspection. His response was, "Mistakes happen and trucks break down." He then offered two options: allow the dealership to repair the vehicle and take it back, or trade it in for a newer truck. After nearly two weeks of stress, lost time, and safety concerns, I expressed that I no longer wished to do any business with the dealership. When I stated that I would be contacting the Arizona Attorney General for legal guidance, he responded "okay" and ended the call. This entire experience reflects a lack of accountability, transparency, and concern for customer safety. Selling a vehicle that shuts off at freeway speeds and refusing to take responsibility for such a serious defect is unacceptable. read more

The absolute worst car dealership I have ever dealt with!!! Once you talk to the piece of work GM Chris Scott, it becomes very obvious why this dealership operates the way it does! I bought a 2018 Chevy express passenger van on Feb 7th. 18,299 dollars! Immediately I had issues with the brakes, fuel sensor, air bags, and most importantly the A/C! They had the van for 15 days! I picked it up and it was still broken! I called them and they DID get it towed to them and got me an uber home. That is the only reason I am giving them 1 star! The straw that broke the camels back. Chris Scott the Honorable GM said they would have the vehicle towed to me. This was also a lie! They drove it back putting more miles on it and further reducing the value of the car. GMC is one of the worst brands of vehicles to own, I've been to the dealer 7 times for the same issue and paid $3,800 for the amount of times I been there total. They want to blame a oem gmc led emblem that was installed in my truck for my battery being constantly drained even though the emblem is literally a plug and play. They also say the emblem stays on a few minutes after the truck has been turned off even though this is a feature that GM has on most of their vehicles. read more

I purchased a 2024 GMC Yukon, after two days of owning it the transmission went out. after 3 months of owning it the air conditioner went out. Liberty "attempted" to fix it SIX times. You read that right, six times. every 5 weeks for 8 months I was back at the dealership with a non working air conditioner. On my final attempt for repair I was told an uber was coming to take me across the street to Buick for a rental car. When it arrived 30 minutes later, I was told they don't accommodate car seats. I asked for my vehicle back. I planned to take it to another dealership as I was done with Liberty all together. when my car was driven around the front, I'm in tears, carrying a baby seat in 115 degree Arizona summer. not one person said a word to me. not one person offered to help. instead they starred from their desks out the window as I struggled to get the car seat in the vehicle. All of this being admitted to by my advisor on a recorded line. great customer service huh?! here's the kicker. I was approved for a buy back bc let's face it. this car is a lemon. however, Sam the service managers feelings were so hurt when my husband told him he and his team were a horrible representation of customer service in the service department, that he declined our repurchase. Would not advise working with this dealership as you'll likely leave disappointed. The associate that showed me around did a great job, other then that the experience was a waste of time! Spent about 2 hours deciding on the car I wanted based on the price listed. Finally decided to move forward with the car only for them to offer well under appraisal value for my current vehicle. Alright, not surprised they gotta try to make as much as they can. We negotiated and they only came up 1.5k to the minimum in the range of 9k -14k. Original was 7.5k The team then says they priced the car to low on accident which is why they can't go any higher. This is where it gets really annoying. They encourage me to sell my car privately if I think I can get more for it so I decide to do that and they tell me they can no longer sell me the car at that price because they can't make enough money without the trade in. So not only did they clearly know they were going to make a good amount off my trade in and we're not willing to reason with me at all. They told me I could sell it myself, I move around the money for the down payment and submit my credit application just for them to call me to tell me they just can't sell it to me. I purchased a GMC truck not 2 years ago! Salesman was good but when I had them put on different stepsides I noticed the high dollar low profile steps they took off were not in the back of my truck! I paid for them! I had to ask for them back?? when I took my older GMC Truck in for service a routine oil change, there top service guy showed me a photo of under my truck saying I had a oil leak and transfer case leak! I said that is not my truck! I knew if it was leaking that bad as he stated that I would have a pool under my truck where it was parked on my cement driveway for months I made the mistake of saying my husband passed ! They tried to tell me I'd have to spend thousands to fix it! My truck has had no leaks and it didn't need fixing! I called the owner when I found out she was a woman to tell her of my experience, it took her 6 months to get back to me! I didn't feel I got anywhere with her! Ugh what to say their service advisor and mechanics have limited if any troubleshooting skills they are unable to think critically and troubleshoot common electrical paths it is 'this is not expected ' and full stop if not written in GM documentation or they are not told directly of a problem from a scan tool / computer they are done. This is not the place maybe they can successfully change motor oil but that is about it. The service advisors are just a useless but you can add to that they are rude. I had a 7am appointment that I scheduled online and was confirmed with follow up texts/emails. At 7am when I arrived my service provider immediately told me it would need to be kept overnight since they couldn't get to it. She said they were swamped. At this point, it seemed like a Seinfeld episode. I had an appointment for today but they couldn't do it till tomorrow. I was told I could rent a car from Enterprise. Wait, I had an appointment for today. Rent a car because you can't honor my reservation today? First time I have had a problem here. But, AAA was my next call and they could diagnose the problem today and at a cheaper diagnosing price. So, I had been thinking about getting a new GMC but stubbornly that is not going to happen. Who would have thought that the dealership would be the best place to buy tires? But not just any tires, BFGoodrich tires HD truck tires. The newest ones by BFG for diesel HD trucks. Not only was the dealership running a great deal when you buy four tires you save 350, plus mount & balance, etc. etc. and the cost came out to $411 per tire OTD. Costco carries the tires and can get them, but their cost was 420 per tire plus all their fees. Costco was going to be obviously more expensive than the dealer. I gave the green light and within 24 hours. I had new BFG HD tires on my truck. Beefy and sexy on my beastly diesel. Additionally, I want to specifically thank Eric Hernandez for bringing my truck in and helping me with my issue and advising me of the results and recommended repair. I stopped in to discuss the problem face-to-face and not only did he help but my primary advisor, Melissa also helped and was able to show me the prices of the tires on her system, Calculate the cost and provide me an OTD price which beat out a costco. Who would've thought that the best deal on high-end tires would've been at the dealer. I'll Always check with them in the future. Why? if my vehicle was getting serviced and it was best to replace the motor mounts at the time, why was I not notified to see if I wanted them to be replaced before the job was completed? He then told me "oh we drop the ball. Sorry about that." I stated we'll my truck a has a vibration because they weren't replaced! His reply "well they're backordered. I checked, and we don't have them in stock it's about a year, wait for them parts." I was pissed! After getting home, I called a few other dealers in the area, and 3 dealers had them in stock. took my Brand new truck for warranty work before it's even had its first oil change. Upon pickup when I walked to my truck I noticed it was dented. I went back inside and told my service advisor Eric that my car was dented he came out to look and said he would review camera footage and call me in a couple days. Weeks go by with no call then I call back and speak to the manager Rick. He assured me he'd look into it and I'd get a call. I did a call saying that the cameras didn't identify who dented the truck so I'm SOL. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs. Dropped a new truck off for warranty and got a damaged truck back with no resolution. Also my girlfriend stated she took her acadia there once and they put the wrong oil and had to drain it and refill during her routine oil change. What a shame because this dealer was close to me.
