I had a very frustrating experience with Bumper Buddies and would not recommend them based on both the quality of work and the lack of follow-up. I paid $650 for a front bumper repair on my 2014 435i. When they finally did, the "correction" was essentially a quick buff and some minor cleanup -- it did not address the underlying issues. That was extremely frustrating to hear, because had that been clearly communicated upfront, I would have chosen to replace the bumper instead of attempting a repair. Following that visit, I attempted multiple times over the course of a couple weeks to resolve the situation and discuss a partial refund. Communication was extremely poor -- emails went unanswered, texts were ignored, and I was repeatedly told someone would follow up when no one ever did. At this point, I've had to pursue a chargeback due to unsatisfactory workmanship and lack of customer support. Overall, the experience felt rushed, the quality did not meet expectations, and the follow-up service was even worse. I would strongly recommend considering other options, especially for anything beyond very minor cosmetic repairs. Update to owners response: I think it's important to clarify a few things here, as parts of your response are not accurate. While I did sign off initially, that was based on a quick review immediately after the repair. The issues became much more noticeable over time in normal lighting and daily use. I also had friends and family point out the poor finish and uneven panel work, which reinforced my concerns -- I take pride in my vehicle, and this simply was not an acceptable result. I first reached out again in mid-February to raise these concerns, and it took repeated follow-ups over several weeks to get a return visit scheduled, which did not occur until March 24th. After that visit, I again had to follow up multiple times over more than a week through both email and text with little to no response before finally hearing back. During that visit, I was told that because the bumper had split, the current result was essentially the best it could be and not fully correctable. That is the core issue -- had that been communicated upfront, I would have chosen a full replacement instead of a repair. I also want to correct a misstatement in your response. At no point did I threaten to post a negative review or file a chargeback in exchange for a refund. The message you're referencing was sent only after weeks of repeated follow-ups and lack of response, and simply stated that if I did not hear back, I would move forward with a chargeback due to the unresolved issues. That is not a threat -- it was a final step after multiple attempts to resolve this directly. The follow-up "corrections" did not resolve the underlying issues, and the quality still does not meet expectations. My request for a partial refund reflects the fact that the result did not match what was discussed beforehand, the limitations were not disclosed upfront, and the communication throughout this process required persistent follow-up just to receive basic responses. read more

Sloppy Scheduling, Poor Communication, and Unfinished Work I had a frustrating experience with Bumper Buddies. When I first called, the salesman was extremely pushy and pressured me into an appointment and then turns out they never actually scheduled it. I took time off work only to be told they had no record of it, and then they tried to dictate what day they had available next, completely disregarding my schedule after their mistake. I eventually paid $525 for a bumper repair and submitted multiple photos in advance. At no point did anyone mention an issue with "two colors" on the bumper. Not over the phone, not in texts, and not even when the technician was working on it. Only after the job was done did I have to call them to figure out why their work was incomplete. They say they couldn't fully correct the paint and the owner then tried to charge me even more money to finish the work I already paid for, and that he may come out to do it himself but only if he "felt" like it. The grey paint formed bubbles shortly after (I left it alone as advised) and the black paint was never repaired. This place is disorganized, lacks transparency, and doesn't take accountability. I had gotten a quote for a paint transfer scrap that happened on my car. One place had quoted me $4k and bumper buddies quoted me much more reasonably at $1k. Scheduling was easy and the quote feature on Yelp was great. The paint job came out amazing and I'm very impressed. Sal was very friendly and explained the process well. I would've given 4 stars except for I wish I had more communication. They were an hour later than the time slot given. I was quoted it would be a 4 hour job that turned into 6.5 hours. I also wish I had been told I wouldn't be able to use my car for the remainder of the day as it needed to set. This company is awesome! They came out a little less than a year ago and fixed a dent as well as some paint chips on my car. Fast forward to now and some of the paint chips have reappeared. I contacted Bumper Buddies and scheduled an appointment since they provide a 3-year warranty. This time the owner Ralph came out to take a look and determined that the chips are not due to the previously completed work but probably reappeared from flying rocks or possibly something rubbing up against my car. Nonetheless, Ralph took the time to buff out the chips and my car looks great again.
