I scheduled my initial exam (pretty easy to schedule in a timely manner) and had full mouth xrays and a dental cleaning - and Dr Condie dud the cleaning! 2 years have gone by since my first gum graft and I was told I needed to do the lower molars too. I…read morewas hesitant to do the procedure again, mainly because of the two week soft food diet. However, the pain was becoming pretty consistent so I decided to go forward. I still really like Dr. Darnell, she is very good. The techs this time around have been pretty disappointing. I went in after 2 weeks for my post-op appointment to have the stitches removed. I told them at that time I was having pain in one tooth. She dismissed my concern as normal. 4 days later the pain was unbearable. Called the next day and they got me right in; diagnosis was food impacted between the teeth and a missed stitch. Today, 3 weeks after the procedure, they cleaned my teeth. Hours later, my mouth feels like it went 12 rounds. The gums hurt, my tongue has several bruises where she let the suction tube touch it for too long. They want to see me on a regular basis for cleanings, but I don't really want to come out feeling like this again.

What followed was a ridiculous sales pitch on an implant where he had a tooth pulled prior, and a refusal to perform a regular clean because he apparently wasn't a candidate for it but needed a deep clean. Funny how this wasn't pitched to me, but then again, perhaps not much incentive knowing I haven't got dental insurance to bill. It also doesnt sit right with me because husband goes for dental check ups twice a year and never before was he not a "candidate" for a regular clean. We wanted to come here as it's in our neighborhood vs driving 45 minutes to our old dental practice but guess we"ll continue doing that rather than being taken advantage of here!

I had a favorite practice I went to in Illinois and I would travel there for my care until the practice was finally closed due the practice relocating out of state. I tried a different practice in Gilbert over a year ago and had an awful experience. I was talking with someone about my dilemma and she highly recommended Serenity Dental - so I ripped off the band-aid and gave them a call. Whenever I would call any other practice I was always told my asks were not feasible. My ask was: Warm or room temp water rather than cold, 4 shots of novacaine, the use of the Synapse Dental Eraser (and nobody has this tool - but it is truly miraculous at blocking out pain). In the absence of the dental eraser my ask was to add Nitrous (laughing gas) in addition to the warm water & novacaine. I was told they don't typically warm water ahead of time but they would do so for me and I was also told that the novacaine & nitrous was totally doable. I went in for my initial visit and got my teeth cleaned, x-rays, etc. Everyone in the practice was so very kind to me. They really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at ease. The dentist even said he would provide me a prescription to obtain the dental eraser so that it can be used when needed at an appointment. I need to go back to take care of 2 cavities & have a crown. This is the first time in a long time that the idea of going back isn't giving me awful anxiety. Jess was the one that did the teeth cleaning for me and she is just a sweetheart. I also got to see Dr. Bhatt to discuss the needed care. He was super kind and really assured me that I came to the right place. So if anyone suffers from severe anxiety like me over dental visits - I would strongly encourage you to give this practice a try. This practice is truly the best - and I already love them more than the other practice I went to back in Illinois for over 25 years. I cannot thank this practice enough for taking such good care of me!
