My dinner was especially good....the chicken fried perfectly...all dark meat the way I like it. The potato salad was not what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm used to a mayo based potato salad but this was even better with lots of flavor! The corn was also delicious. Everyone was very happy with their dinners. The chicken and waffle dish was also good. Ratio of breading to chicken was perfect and perfectly seasoned. The honey butter that came with it was also delicious. The New Orleans shrimp bowl was great too. The ratio of shrimp, which was perfectly cooked, to rice was good. Lots of great flavor. I think that everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. The only "ding" would be the service. We had to ask for silverware so we could eat and had to wait for straws because she forgot. I'm still going to give it 5 stars even though the service was lacking a bit. She was very nice but seemed rushed.

The waitress was extremely helpful for drink suggestions and dishes to try which is a plus for me! Knowledge of your best cuisines is definitely a plus! The response time to get a waiter was a bite longer than I expected but that was ok since it was happy hour. So I ordered the hurricane drink, fried green tomatoes, half bird with sweet potatoes and collards. I'll just right into my experience, the drink was 12/10 for sure! Not much to say on it except perfect. The fried green tomatoes were good just needed to be hot! The grits arrived like warm at best, but still a decent bite. The half bird (4 piece fried chicken) was extremely hot and juicy!!! I can't complain about that, the sides however could've used a little more attention. The sweet potatoes lacked so much potential due to them being puréed the only sweet portion came from the marshmallows and pecans which I wasn't a fan of. The collards were decent, needed a pinch or 2 of salt. Overall I would come again though to try different items. Just apply a little more love in the kitchen in regard to the seasoning and the dishes would be fire!!!!! Happy Yelping

I swapped the fries for the potatoes, and I'm glad I did--they were really good. The appetizers were probably the highlight of the meal. Both the tomatoes and the cornbread were excellent. Service was friendly and quick. One funny moment: my boss ordered a cocktail and found out they were pre-made, so he couldn't customize it. That turned into the running joke for the rest of the night. Overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant is really nice inside, there's plenty of parking, and I'd come back.

Silverware was spotty as hell! Attention to details little ones like this are what make or break a restaurant. Service was fine. Nothing to write home about. My mom ordered the crab soup, which she loved. She also ordered the New Orleans shrimp bowl. The shrimp were wayyyyyyyy overcooked and extremely rubbery and hard. It's not good whenever you're over cooking your shrimp. It was inedible. The dirty rice and creole sauce were excellent. I don't think I'd put asparagus in this dish, but that's what it came with? Didn't think asparagus was a southern style vegetable? I ordered the special. It was brisket birria tacos. If you've ever ordered birria tacos before, you know it always comes with a beef consome for dipping your tacos in. This is why it's called birria tacos and any decent chef who's been educated about Mexican cuisine knows this! Ugh! Barely any cheese in the tacos. I was really missing the consome. I asked for it from the bartender and he said yeah it usually comes with it. I received a side dish of hot sauce instead? I'll post pics. For $80, over-rubbery shrimp and not birria tacos, was extremely underrated. I was very disappointed. Normally, I've enjoyed my last three visits. I felt like we overpaid. Please, if you're going to call it birria tacos, don't forget the consome! Any random recipe on the Internet calls for a beef broth for Birria tacos. Maybe next time don't call it Birria tacos call it brisket tacos.

We had reservations and were seated immediately. I chose the spare ribs for my dinner and Husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The ribs were served with a zesty dry rub and sauce on the side. They were nice and tender. The meal came with Texas toast which I didn't try because the ribs were sitting right on top of it. It also had a piece of corn on the cob. Wish my meal would have been a titch hotter in temp but the food was tasty. We finished with the smoky crème brûlée which was delicious. The layout was cozy and dark with the bar at the center. I could see it being lively and loud on a busy night. Service was excellent. We took our time ordering and never felt rushed. Our food came out super fast. The staff worked as a great team.

The atmosphere was sunny with no chances of rain and I loved every minute of it. Sundays are for brunch and I went with a hungry stomach. Took my seat around 1115a and started ordering. First up was my drink Prosecco with a side of Elderflower liqueur because there was no St. Germain. Close to the flavor tho! It was actually quite yummy as well. Then I placed my ordered... I went with the HOG BREAKFAST PARTY which contains 2 Eggs, Greens, Bacon or Sausage, Roadside Potatoes, Biscuit. I loved the roadside potatoes, and I opted for sausage was equally good. The green I would suggest a little more umph in it and the eggs were standard. Overall a decent 3 out of 5 meal. I would like to go back and try the regular menu. Remember I said I sat around 1115a, it was long until 1210p that I noticed my food hasn't arrived. Spoke with our waiter who was apologetic and on the hunt to see what's going on. It was in this moment that I realized this business takes their customers seriously. The waiter returned to advise the kitchen was running behind, but his manager would be out to speak with us. Upon arrival the manager advised he had some research and noticed we had been waiting a very long time. By this time food arrived at 1227P. He informed us that the bill was taken care of and gave a gift card for the inconvenience. We assured him that taking care of the bill was enough but he insisted we take the gift card as well. That's amazing customer service. Thank you to the manager and waiter for such excellent care.

Great BBQ - 4 stars…read more Amos & Amos is a quirky place. And I have to admit, I love the weirdness. According to the owner, they've been around for 9 years. But the building itself is an old A&W drive-in fast food joint, built in 1953. Very cool! Most people seem to drive around the back of the building and pull into one of the parking spots that were "order from your car" spaces back in the day. Or you can just park on the street. Then you walk up to the window and place your order. Easy, right? This is where it starts to get weird. The sliding order window has 2 basement window well covers bolted over the sliding doors, like a big clam shell. The owners cut a flap in the bottom that only opens from the inside. Apparently, this is some sort of home-made do-it-yourself security thing. It seems to do the job...but you can't talk to them and they can't hear you until they slide open the door and then shout through the clam shell. And they don't seem to be in a hurry to do anything. I stood around like an idiot for a while, watching the lady, until she FINALLY slid the door open and talked to me. Kinda hard to hear through the big plastic clam shell. Speaking of shouting...you wait in your car or stand outside for 15 or 20 minutes and they yell when your food is ready. You can't hear what they're saying when they shout...but it all seems to workout okay. Like I said - quirky. LOW CARB: Okay, on to the most important thing: the food. I got the rib tip combo meal with a big hot link. Both were excellent. The rib tips were amazingly tender and lathered in generous amounts of a sweet sauce. Great taste. My hot link was huge and flavorful. For some reason, it reminded me of a big blood sausage. Good stuff. Unfortunately, you can't get any meat without sides. And all of the sides are plants. So in addition to my meats, I received and payed for unwanted carbohydrates of coleslaw, white bread toast, and a huge mountain starchy of fries. Those all came home with me to feed the Blue Jays and the Squirrels. That was kind of a waste of food but I had no choice about the high starch carbohydrate sides. I like this place. The meats are great. But it's a little frustrating if you eat low carb. It would be awesome if these guys sold meat by the pound, like many of the other BBQ joints. Oh, well. It was worth the stop. -Maxx

He suggested Old Southern BBQ that was just around the corner from the hotel. We walked in and the place was spotless and smelled wonderful! We walked up to the counter and the first thing I seen was a young lady cutting slices of the most juiciest brisket I have ever seen at a restaurant. I knew immediately what I was going to order even before looking at the menu. While looking at the overhead menu a very nice gentleman approached us and handed us a menu and gave some suggestions for dinner. I ordered some of that incredible looking brisket. I usually order a sample platter when I go to someplace new so I can taste a variety of meats, but that brisket looked too good. So I got the brisket platter with the corn muffin top, Jimmie beans, and I also got the roasted creamed corn. The brisket didn't disappoint. It was amazing! Very juicy, just a little fat on the top of the slice that added to the flavor. I can't say enough about the brisket. The beans had chunks of meat in it and was also amazing! The roasted creamed corn was delicious too. My wife had the bbq chicken tacos. She loved them. Nice flour tortillas with lettuce, cheese, and a nice helping of smoked chicken. There were several sauces on the table. I tried them all, but I can't really say which one was the best. The brisket was so good that I didn't need to use sauce. I just dabbed a small bite into each sauce to try them. To sum it up. If you're in the area, stop and try Old Southern BBQ. It really is that
