My Fiancé and I really enjoy going to Salata but will not be back to this one. I'm not sure if it's because of the negative attitude or the poor customer service training. We have been to several but never have I seen the workers trained to be soo stingy with toppings. When I said to put more she was very annoyed. I'm sorry but if you fill the bowl with lettuce and kale you can't expect the customer to be satisfied with 5 slices of mushrooms and three cubes of tomato's!!! I don't know if the owner has trained the workers to pick up food with their fingertips or if they just don't want to refill the containers but it's a pathetic excuse for service. I for one will not be back and I will continue to let everyone know about the lack of desirable service. When you offer thirty toppings and your average customer just selects 6-7 of them you would be wise not to skimp or at least train your employees to not act inconvenienced by having to reach in and give away a few more pieces of cucumber. read more

I went in Salata and was greeted by very enthusiastic workers! I asked for a small salad. They made my salad and when I got near the end, they asked me if I wanted to add more lettuce. They really want to make sure I was getting what I'm paying for! To be honest I didn't mind paying for the salad as is but they made sure I was getting what is expected. The staff that is working today is rude and unwelcoming. When we walked in, it was a group of them standing around talking to each other. It seem as though they were anboy that we interupted their gossip time. Out of all the Salata locations we've been to, this particular location is cheapest with their portion. When we ask for extra of anything, they gave us attitude. The two staff looked at each other and one was complaining under her breath. I just tried placing our usual delivery order. I saw that I could earn points using the app, so I downloaded it and made an order. An error message appeared that said the store was closed. Knowing this not to be the case I called and was told I had to place a delivery order online if the app wasn't working. So, I tried to do that and got the same error message that I received for the app. When I called back I was told the only option was to do a pickup order, but as I have a medical condition this is not a safe option for me at this time. When I asked if I could speak to a manager I was told the manager was off that day and that the person on the phone was covering their shift. My thinking was if the person answering the phone wasn't interested in the technical issues maybe a manager would be and could report it. She took my number and I'm waiting for a call from the owner, but I think this could have a simpler solution. I may take the call, but I won't make an order. Just left this place and I am really angry about spending my money at this location! I have been to several Salata restaurants in HOUSTON. Love it! As I walked in to the restaurant a lady by the name of Yadira was the person making my salad. As I enter she said to me "which salad?" No hi or hello. I greeted her twice before she even says "hi" back of course with an attitude. She was very rude and unprofessional. I had to wait for her to stop talking to her co worker before I can tell her what I wanted in my salad. Then we get to the register, she didn't give me an option of dining in, she looked at me and said "to go?" and she threw my salad down on the counter. Gosh! I wished I can turn back time and throw the salad back at her and not pay for the expensive salad with a side order of rudeness , no customer service at all. As others have said they can be stingy with ingredients. I found this to be OK since I just got like a little bit of everything. I wish they had organic salad dressing. There were plenty of different fruits and vegetables to choose from and everything tasted good and fresh. This place is perfect for vegetarians. I think my salad was very large and I like that. As someone who enjoys eating oversized salads just about any time of the day, I was impressed. My salad was very large and it took me awhile to finish it. The kale and broccoli did not disappoint. After looking at the ingredients list the soups are not healthy and neither are the breads and cookies. If you're trying to eat healthy just stick to the fruits and veggies! read more

Tried Salata for the first time today and am disappointed. It was very crowded and I felt we were rushed through the line. We hadn't been to a Salata before, so we didn't know what to expect. I actually didn't even order something, but my son did get a kids meal. The amount of food that comes in the kids meal for $7 with tax was ridiculus and it is all ordered separately in a box. I should have just ordered him a small salad I guess. Won't be going back with kids that is for sure and more that likely won't be going back even for myself. We arrived around 7ish and I noticed right away that the floors and tables were dirty, and the trashcans were overflowing with trash and bowls. I agree with other reviewers in that this specific location is extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. I've had several incidents with unfriendly employees over the last several months and finally decided to leave a review after my visit today. My family and I love Salata and frequent this location at least once, sometimes twice a week. We were so excited when they came to Cypress. I also agree that this location gives very small portions compared to other locations but I choose to dine at this location regardless. My specific issue today is that I asked for half shrimp and half chicken with a salad. On other days, at this exact location and at other locations this has never been an issue and I am charged for the most expensive of the two (shrimp). Today, I was told this cannot be done, I must select one or the other. I didn't argue because I realized that it may just depend on who is working that day, so I called my husband whom I was ordering for to see which he wanted and during the middle of my call Pili interrupts to tell me they can't do half and half and that I can select shrimp or chicken on the side and pay for it as a side. I really didn't need to be told AGAIN, I understood from the other service the first time she told me.I was startled at Pili's tone and plugged one of my ears to indicate that I could not hear what my husband was saying over her loudly telling me that it could not be done (again). The interesting thing is that I never heard the server I was working with tell Pili what was going on. She quickly mumbled something to her and it appeared to be in a language other than English. After I began to tell her I'd like chicken for the salad she cut me off mid sentence (before I said salad) to ask if it was for the wrap or the salad. I had already told the previous server it was for the salad. Pili's tone began to rub me the wrong way so I just answered her questions and didn't say anything more or less the rest of the visit. I think she realized that I was annoyed as she was checking me out because she suddenly began to be nice again, asking if I needed anything else after she asked about drinks (there's nothing else at the end of the line). I think it's fine to not allow customers to order half of two proteins, but I wish the practice was consistent rather than up to who's working at the time. If this location wants to leave it up to its employees to decide, it would be nice to not be practically yelled at when one decides not to allow it. I frequent the corporate location of Salata on Park Row and the location at Mason Rd in addition to Cypress. I wish I received the same welcoming, friendly, and CONSISTENT service that made me originally fall in love with Salata in the first place. I'm strongly considering traveling to Mason Rd in the future when I don't have coupons to this location. read more

This salata just popped up all of a sudden. Great food, always clean, always friendly. So glad one is on this side of town now. I will definitely be back as I am a regular at salata and at chipotle. Great salads, but I don't like the discrepancy in the quantity of ingredients you get depending on the employee. The other day I had to ask for a "little more please" on just about everything. The first time she gave me 3(!) black olives, sliced black olives, so not even a whole olive. It makes me feel like a jerk, but if I'm paying $12 for a salad, I want a bountiful salad. I love this Salata I go here every day at 2:45-3:00 there's never a line and the staff always show me love *wink wink* they always greet me with a smile and I can hardly finish my sentences because they know my favorites . I especially love the "topping of the month" i get to try new things I never would have thought to put on a salad like WATERMELON. The toppings are always fresh and neat and I love the lemon slices that the have out for the water. All Salata locations are not created equal this one is a class act. I think I over heard one of the owners saying they are going to put another location at the boardwalk in Towne Lake. If it's anything like this one I'll be there daily because thats right by my house! The only "con" I can think of is that when I go in the after noon they're always out of cilantro. I'm sure it's the lunch crowd from Cy-Woods because if i happen go any other time its always there. Yummy! I knew going the first week they were opened it would be busy, however the line moved quickly. The small salad was the perfect amount of food for lunch. I had the right amount of toppings, meat, and dressing. All the veggies and fruit were nice and fresh. My daughter had a kids meal and loved it. She got to pick out her favorites! I love the food at Salata. The problem I have is with the prices of the portions. If you want an extra helping of maybe meat or seafood and there is a full extra charge for the spoonful. I understand that, meats and seafood(although not real seafood) can be pricey. But watch that second spoonful because its like half of what the first one is and you get charged full price.
